  • I just recently noticed at the bottom of my iPhone 4 I am missing one of my screws. The downfall is my 1 year warranty ended about a month ago, will they still replace it or trade in?

I need to know if apple will still help me out on my missing screw even though my warranty is expired

I scarcely think a missing screw warrants a replacement phone. Ask you local Apple store, if you have one. They can probably spare a screw.

  • TS1713 Does my 1-year warranty cover the replacement of a damaged Magsafe adaptor?

The cord on my 85W Magsafe adaptor has been damaged. Does my 1-year warranty cover the replacement of the adaptor?

The cord directly connected to the adaptor was starting to rip off, and so my mother used electrical tape to fix it. The tape ended up melting, somehow causing the cord to rip off, but not completely. The charger works to an extent - it's very on and off. However, I still would like to replace it for a new one. Will I still be able to replace it? With warranty covering it?

  • My iPod touch 4th generation has a 5 year warranty on it, my earbuds fell apart, my screen is cracked and my charger is useless. What can I do?

My ipod has a 5 year warranty. My screen is cracked, my earbuds fell apart and my charger is useless. What am I supposed to do?
The same thing happened last year, I cracked my screen a month after I got it and the glass started to fall out. My mom paid to get it fixe. Why am I paying if there is already a warranty on it?

Where did you get a five year warranty? The Apple standard warranty is 1 year and the extended AppleCare warranty is 2 years total. Neither cover a broken screen but will cover the headphones if they were not abused. Same for charger if it was purchased from Apple since a charger does not come with the iPod.

  • 3 cracks in 3 years replaced with a 3 year warranty!!!

    Dear Ms./Sir,
I am a university student and in 2007 I have bought my very first laptop ever, a white Macbook. I love my laptop. It's fast, it's convenient. The design is slick and thin, fits anywhere and it's light. However, since I bought it I realized that regular Microsoft laptops have sturdy cases but their software falls apart. In the case of a MacBook, excellent software but the case falls apart. This is ridiculous. I am a big fan of Apple products and have bought many as presents as well in the past. I avidly recommended and still am to friends and family. However with the case cracking constantly and in constant need of replacement I am definitely over thinking my loyalty to Apple in the future.
Mid 2008 I notice the first crack on the right side of the board. Having a 3 year warranty through Apple Care I was able to replace it at no cost. I hoped that it wouldn't happen again and made sure that I used it lightly and very carefully to avoid another crack. Early 2009 another crack, same place. Replaced it again at no cost. This time I decided not to even take it to school anymore and was really really careful with it. November 2009, not even a year later another crack in the SAME spot. This is ridiculous. 3 cracks in 3 years. My warranty ends in January next year. I don't have the money to spent on replacement every time this happens after my warranty expires.
So I would like to know what can Apple do for a loyal fan like me?
I really don’t want the cracking to keep happening, since I don’t have the money to keep repairing it.
    Regards,
    Dorothea

As Templeton said, you will not get a response from Apple here. We're all just fellow users.
I'd suggest calling Apple tech support and asking to speak with Customer Relations. When you get a CR representative on the line, calmly explain the situation and express your concerns about yet another case failure should they just replace the case yet again. I can't make any sort of promises - again, I don't work for Apple so I can't speak for them - but the CR representative may be able to work out something, ideally a replacement of the unit with a new model of MacBook.
    Good luck.

  • Lenovo 1 Year Warranty Status appears incorrect on H430

I am new to Lenovo  and  this forum...
(Thank you to Andy for getting me started with my other problem, "H430 Recovery Disk".)
My next problem:    The  One Year Lenovo "Warranty Expiration" is not correct as displayed on the Lenovo on-line  "Warranty Status" web page.
My new Lenovo model   "H430"   machine's warranty status is listed as July 2013 on the Lenovo Warranty Status  web page.      However,   I purchased the H430 machine only 3 days ago on 21 August '12.
Background info:    By telephone,  a Lenovo rep in Atlanta told me my  "H430"  was   "idea"   branded and he  gave me a phone number for "idea"...      which connected me with Miles at the Lenovo center in the Philippines.    It was difficult to understand Miles...  but I understood him to say that I should send a "scanned" copy of the receipt by email to Lenovo.     Again,   difficult to understand but I understood Miles to give me the following email address:  [email protected]
After emailing the scanned receipt to that address,     I received a message from my Hotmail.com email provider which said something to the effect of:
"Warning,  your email has been  DELAYED.   You do not need to re-transmit your email"
Can anyone tell me if    "[email protected]"    is in fact the correct email address I should use to send the scanned receipt with my purchase date...    ie. to allow  the Lenovo Corporation  to correct the one year warranty status date as displayed on the  "warranty status"  web page  ?
Thank you for any insights you can offer.
    /mike

Thank you for the follow up...   I am sorry about not responding sooner.  For some reason it took a while between the 1st Hotmail error message which said  "my email was delayed"   until the 2nd Hotmail message which said my email with the scanned purchase receipt was  "not deliverable".       Unfortunately because of my concerns regarding obtaining warranty service on the Lenovo H430,    I have already exchanged the H430 for another computer.    So...  since I no longer own the H430 I will not be following up on obtaining the correct email address to transmit the "scanned" purchase receipt to correct the warranty status expiration date.   Thank you for taking the time to follow up on this for me.   /mike

  • My iphone 4s has stopped working the wifi, IOS 6.1.3, warranty ends,  my problem will be solved or if I have to fight in court to work this divice

My iphone 4s has stopped working and the wifi warranty ends in 30 days, I spoke with Apple support in Brazil and all steps performed as the attendant handed me this afternoon. I want to know if my problem will be solved or if I have to fight in court to get what is rightfully mine and equipment that really works.
    Thanks, André Garzo

I live in Brazil and ensuring the apple does not work here and the nearest town for a possible exchange of equipment is 150 miles away

  • Will the 1 year warranty cover scratches on the back of my iPod touch? Perhaps give me a new itouch?

I have quite a few scratches on the back of my itouch, one really long one. I was wondering if I could go to the store with my "1 year warranty" and get a new one? My 1 year warranty is almost ending, so I wanted to see if this would work. Thanks

    No. The warranty states:
This warranty does not apply: (a) to consumable parts, such as batteries or protective coatings that are designed to diminish over time, unless failure has occurred due to a defect in materials or workmanship; (b) to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches, dents and broken plastic on ports; (c) to damage caused by use with another product; (d) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, liquid contact, fire, earthquake or other external cause; (e) to damage caused by operating the Apple Product outside Apple’s published guidelines; (f) to damage caused by service (including upgrades and expansions) performed by anyone who is not a representative of Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider (“AASP”); (g) to an Apple Product that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple; (h) to defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the Apple Product, or if any serial number has been removed or defaced from the Apple Product.

  • The 1 year warranty is only good for 7 d

We recently bought a Zen (20Gb) for our teenage son. The power pack (the charger that came with the Zen) expired after just a few days (perhaps 5 days of use!). However, when we took it in for repair (my wife went personally to their office here in Singapore because the telephone support system was so incomprehensible), she was told that THE -YEAR WARRANTY DID NOT APPLY to the power unit. She was told that the power-pack only had a 7-day warranty, which had of course expired.Has anyone else had problems with Creative not honoring their warranties?
Additional note: We have followed this up with Creative, who have confirmed that their warranties only apply to the main item with the serial number on it and their warranties do NOT apply to any included accessories such as power units. They describe it as "a gesture of goodwill" that they give a 7-day warranty on these items.

ianprescott wrote:Thanks for the apology. As regards using another power unit to charge the Zen ... I suspect that using anything but a genuine Creative charger will invalidate the warranty on the main unit (except for the charging that might happen via the USB port). Then I have no warranty at all!
Then even without a charger, you're in no better situation than I am. I have a Zen Micro, which, like most of the newer Micro packages here in the US and many other countries, didn't come with a charger. It usually gets charged thru the USB port, but I use a third-party charger occasionally. (The Micro can only be charged by USB; it doesn't have a standard DC-adapter plug like the Zen 20GB does.)
Creative's warranties in both the US and Singapore exclude damages for "improper use of any electrical source" (which would include misuse of third-party chargers), "undue..electrical stress", or "electrical surges"--but not just because you used a third-party charger. Due care in selecting the charger (I already told you it's 5VDC; the tip polarity is marked on the Zen 20GB) can take care of that, especially with assistance from a local shop in Singapore that primarily sells those kind of add-ons (similar to RadioShack here in the US). And if you're really worried about using the "correct" charger, you can always buy another adapter from Creative.

  • IPod warranty was already expired when I received it.

I got my iPod touch for christmas. The warranty for my serial number says the 90 day warranty expired on December 24, 2010. VERY handy. So when I got my iPod, the warranty was already gone. Of course, I don't have the receipt for the purchase because it was a gift. Any ideas on what to do?? I am not desperate enough to buy new warranty.

Hi WVJM: Actually the warranty is 1 year, not 90 days. Phone tech support is 90 days.

Is it possible that the iPod received as a gift was actually a refurbished device? I believe that those only come with a 90 day warranty instead of the standard 1 year one.

  • HT2101 My iPhone's 4 battery exploded. What do I do next? 1 year warranty period is over; however, this is a clear hardware issue which I didn't cause (didn't drop the phone, the battery just exploded while charging the phone)

I put my iphone to charge for about an hour. After an hour I found that the battery exploded. It literally exploded pushing the back cover off the whole thing. That is crazy... iphones explode?? what if this happened in my pocked and some nasty liquids going all over.
Please let me know what do I do next about it. 1 year warranty is gone but it is not my fault the thing exploded. Should be some kind of hardware issue. I found on the internet that this happens quite often.

I had the same thing happen to my iPhone but much less extreme. The back had popped away from the frame at the top, below the headphone jack. I tried to push it back but it would not stay. My first thought was that this was attributed to a bad/bloated battery. I took it in to my local Apple store where it was diagnosed as having a defective back. I brought up my bloated battery suspition with the Genious who instantly shrugged it off. The back was defective and that was it.
A new back was ordered and when it came in, I took the phone in for the back to be replaced. The new Genious went back to their service area with the phone, emerging a few minutes later stating that the back was not the issue...it was a bloated battery which had pushed the back off. They ended up replacing the phone under warranty.
Yours is very extreme since on mine, only one corner of the back was pushed away. I certainly hope you can get Apple to correct it without charge since this is clearly an issue with a bad battery and a dangerous one at that. Best of luck to you.

  • Where do I register my computer for the one year warranty?

Where do I register my computer for the one year warranty?

If you’re trying to register an Apple product, chances are it’s already registered. Most Apple products can be registered when you turn them on for the first time and begin the setup process. Service and support for your Apple product are linked to its serial number, so it’s OK if you don’t register it. If you'd like to check the service and support coverage for your Apple mobile device or computer, click here.

  • Do I need to register online for 1 year warranty?

Do I need to register online for 1 year warranty?

Not for the original - comes with the device - warranty. That said, if you do register then if you lose the receipt down the line, Apple already has a record of you and your device. IIRC, when I purchased the Apple Care extended one I did have to register that with Apple.
