My 3D is not working in Photoshop CS5. All of the options are greyed out

I just installed the photoshop CS5 but find out my 3D is not working, all of the options are greyed out. I have checked on the openGL menu in preference but still not work. I have core i7 and intel HD graphics 3000 with up to 1760MB dynamic video memory. please help

Is the active document RGB?
Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels/Menus visible?

Hi,
Stroke styles are disabled in HTML5 Canvas document type as the target platform doesn't support those. Please check your document tab if it reads '<yourfilename> (Canvas)' then you have created a HTML5 Canvas document.
If you have created HTML5 document by mistake, then you can copy paste your layers into AS3 document then you can change the stroke style to your desired option.

Text tool not working in photoshop CC, all I can see are small boxes event with giant font

I am not sure what is going on here. I cannot get the Text to show up using the Text tool. All I can see are tiny boxes even made the font 60 points. SHould be huge. Been happening for more than a week and I ran an update via the cloud just last night. Did not fix it yet. Ideas?

I find Points are not the most predictable unit to use for text, and p[refer a linear size like inches or mm. Have a look at your image size. If it has a very high pixel size, together with a low dpi (72) then that would give you what you are seeing. If your image size is 4 inches by 8 inches, then regardless of what the dpi is, if you used inches instead of points for text sizing, then you would know to expect 2 inch text to be one quarter the hieght of your document.
Does that make sense?

IMac Message not allowing preference or account changes. These options are "greyed" out.

How can I get Message to allow changes to preferences and/or accounts? These are both greyed out and can't be accessed. My Message icon show that I have messages, but the messages do not show when icon is selected. Everything I have read says to go to preferences, but I menu doesn't allow it.

You will notice that in System Preferences > iCloud there is also no listing of iTunes, App Store, Game Center or FaceTime that may also be using the same ID.
iCloud is a service and mostly shows the items that can be Synced to other Macs using the same ID or the iOS devices doing the same.
So PhotoStream is on the Net (in the cloud) so to speak and not on you iPhone but you can show the pics (or at least the last 1000) to people on your iPhone.
Similarly you Contacts only have to changed in one place and will change on all devices
iMessages uses an Apple ID. It does seem it also has to be an iCloud one (at least since Mavericks and Messages 8.0)
As Yahoo ID are email accounts it will also appear in System Preferences > Internet Accounts and give you the option to have it active in Messages
Whilst it might be your Apple ID and you might use it for the iMessages account you can also use it for an Yahoo Account in Messages and use the Yahoo Instant Messages service.

It should work like this:-
Enter the (Apple) ID you want to use in the iMessages account along with the password you might use for that email ID at Apple (presuming the Apple use the the Yahoo use have different passwords to the ID).
The iMessages Receive section (Messages > Preferences > Accounts) should show just that Apple ID at present.
Then you Enable the Messages app on the iPhone.
Once the Number has verified you can add other Send And Receive IDs. The first tend to be the Apple ID you used on the Mac.
If you restart the Mac version you should get a pop up telling you what IDs (Apple ID and iPhone number) the iPhone is using.
You Have to Accept this Pop up to have the Mac add the iPhone Number to it's Receive At list (And to the Start Conversation From drop down).
If this was not accepted remove the Apple ID from the iPhone (it is worth double checking the iPhone can still send to the Apple ID)
Place th iPhone in Airplane mode for a few minute to Break with Server.
The "restart" the iPhone and the App.
If the iPhone number is verified then Add the Apple ID
Restart the Mac version (It makes the pop ups appear just a little quicker)
Accept the pop ups.

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

Concluding something does not work because you fail at using it is not necessarily always justified.
The Quick Selection Tool certainly has limitations, but your post seems to be more about venting than trouble-shooting – otherwise you might have posted an image where you failed to get an expected result.

Some options are greyed out in Captivate 8.0.1 and my bullets do not work?

Hi, I am using Captivate 8.0.1 and am having trouble with 2 things:
1. The bullets and indents that I have formated for my responsive project appear very messed up and not as I have formatted when I view my project in Edge Inspect?
2. Some options in the TOC are greyed out (that I really need for my project). These option are to upload an icon and to align the position of the TOC (It wont let me align to the side of my project as the only option available is for 'overlay'.
Any ideas on how to fix these problems would be much appreciated.

Captivate 8 introduced the first "Responsive" type of project. And in these types of projects, certain things simply won't work in the output. Henceforth, their options will often be disabled (or "grayed out"). The TOC appears to be one such item. The only option is to use an overlay TOC. I would suspect that this is because of "responsive design". Since the output will be adapting to differing screen sizes, I'm guessing that adding an additional 250 or so pixels for a TOC could prove troublesome and would likely throw off all the other design elements.
Where exactly are you finding you are not capable of uploading an icon? I see that I'm able to upload icons that represent the collapse and expand gizmos, but you may be in a different spot.

So i've found the answer to this by clicking on every menu and setting in the itunes store. It turns out some purchases in the cloud can be hidden probably as the result of an interrupted transfer/sync/backup or a network outage. To unhide purchases 'greyed out ' items , go to the Itunes store (on the PC) click on your account name and select view account. (you'll be prompted for your itunes password) once you are in scroll down to the purchase history section. there should be an option for hidden purchases. click through and click on unhide purchases, redownloadble purchases. any hidden purchases will then show up. click on unhide to reactivate and download. This may only work for purchases in the cloud.

Has anyone experience a problem with not being able to add a drumbeat loop to a prerecorded project? When I open the loop browser, there are only a few options available. The rest are greyed out. I can only choose individual drum sounds, not full beats

I have created a project and recorded 2 tracks, one with a guitar and the other vocals. I would like to add a drum loop, but when I pull up the loop browser, all of the normal selections aren't available. Some are greyed out, including "Beats". "All Drums" is available, but when I click on it it pulls up some cymbal sounds only. I've opened some old recordings in GB to see if this is a consistent issue, but it's not. Only this one project won't allow me to use drum loops. Which leads me to believe there is something I have selected or not selected within the project that's not allowing me to see all the loops. Any help would be much appreciated.

Pen Pressure not working in Photoshop CS5.1

Hello,
I've looked at a lot of questions and answers concerning pen pressure in this forum, and I've tried a lot of things to fix this problem. I have a Genius MousePen 6x8 and use Photoshop CS5.1. It's been a while since I used my tablet, but it used to work before. I rebooted my computer a while ago, so I installed the new driver from the Genius website. The tablet is working fine, even the pen pressure, but for some reason it just won't work in Photoshop. I've tried to fix it by resetting the Photoshop settings by using the Ctrl+Shift+Alt, I've reset the brush tool, I've played around with the brush options and nothing has worked.

Your tablet driver isn't reporting pressure correctly.
The knockoff tablet drivers usually need to be revised for each new version of Photoshop (and we have no idea why).
Contact your tablet maker to see if they have updated drivers to fix their bugs.

Edit: Touchscreen not working with photoshop cs5

When using photoshop cs5, I am unable to use any tool properly when using the touch screen.
Using the touchscreen, I am able to select the tool and other buttons, but when i attempt to draw with the brush tool, dragging a stylus across the screen does not create a line, and only visual feedback is seen. Dots can be drawn, ad the only way a line can be created is to double-click and drag which does not always work and is irritating to use.
Please help, I have tried searching for a long while and even contacted computer support but they directed me here. I am unable to find a suitable driver, as suggested on the troubleshooting page or any other solution. Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks.

This have been touch on many times here. There are two api use to support touch type devices like tablets and touch screens. The API that many touch screen tablet and computers use lack features Adobe Pen support uses example the API does not support things like pen tilt. Therefore Adobe does not support this API. You need a device driver for you touch screen that user the API Adobe uses for tablet support.

Windows "Open with..." not working for Photoshop/CS5.5

I use the "Open with..." command in the Windows right-click context menu all the time to open .jpg and other image files in Photoshop. I don't want to directly associate .jpgs, etc, to Photoshop because most of the time I just want to view them quickly in Windows Photo Viewer. But every once in a while, I need to open one in PS, so I had been using the "Open with..." menu command. This worked fine in every version of CS that I've ever used.
Until, all of a sudden, when I installed CS5.5, "Open with..." no longer works. Right-clicking on a .jpg, for instance, doesn't even show Photoshop as a valid option for an application in which to open the file (not in the "Recommended Programs" list or even the "Other Programs" list). So I have to go and browse for an "Additional Program". I'm using Windows 7 64-bit, but whether I choose the photoshop.exe in Program Files or Program Files (x86), the jpg still just opens in the default application (Windows Photo Viewer).
Same for PDFs (opening in either Photoshop or Illustrator).
PSDs open fine, directly, when I double-click the file.
This really seems like a CS issue, since "Open with" still works fine for other non-Adobe applications.
How can I get my "Open with" menu to "see" Photoshop again as a valid option and pass the filename correctly so that it actually opens the file?
Anybody have any ideas?

Nope. I'd done that many many times, and it never "stuck". No matter how many times I browsed for the exe, whether I checked "Always use the selected program..." or not, the jpg still opened in Photo Viewer.
Turns out, this thread showed up on the "More like this" widget in the righthand of these forums when I had submitted my post, and that answered my question. Why the thread never showed up when I was actually searching for an answer, I'll never know.
As per that thread, you have to go in and manually set/update the registry key
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\open\command
to point to the path of the most recent Photoshop (in my case, C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5.1 (64 Bit)\Photoshop.exe). I guess this is something that the CS5.5 installer fails to do under certain circumstances. It was still pointing to the path of my CS5, which was no longer valid.

The feature "Save as" is not working in Photoshop CS5

Hello, I've downloaded Photoshop CS5 in trial mode but the "feature" "Save as" and "Save" are not working, I can't save my work, is it a restriccion for being in the trial mode?. I'm using Windows XP sp2 with 1.5 Gb RAM, 100 Gb HD and 2.6 Ghz Intell processor. Before the Photoshop CS5 I had installed the CS4 Suite and was working perfectly well. Could you help me with this?.

The trial version is the same as the full version except
for the 30 day limitation.
I think on windows xp you need sp3 for cs5 to work as expected.

I dowloaded the Photoshop CS5 trial yesterday 2 days ago. Everything worked perfectly yesterday. Unfortunately, today...the brush and pencil tool doesn't work. Anyone have any idea why?

I had created a partition in my drive, one of which was protected. Unfortunately, I do not remember the password. How do I open that partition? Most of the features are greyed out when I go to disk utility? Help Please!!!

I had created a password protected partition on my drive and unfortunately have lost that password. Please guide me if the drive can be partitioned? To give some more details - I had created 3 partitions, one is main start up drive, then 2nd partition which was password protected and the 3rd partition without password again.

Camera Raw 6.7 installation not working with Photoshop CS5.1

I have been trying to upgrade Camera Raw to 6.7 on my windows 7(32) machine running CS5.1.
It will not update via Help>Update (indicates download problem) or manually using the downloaded file and AdobePatchInstaller.exe (indicates "an error installing the update")
I have tried Adobe support adviser but this was of little help.
Also tried running Photoshop as Administrator.
Can anyone help?

I don't know why your Help - Updates feature shouldn't be working; it worked for me, and it would disturb me if it didn't work, but to jump to the solution to your issue, you should be able to install the update manually by carefully following the instructions that go with the download you can find here:

Make sure you unzip the contents of the file to a folder on your computer before running the installer.
