My 4th generation iPod nano was washed, screen is super dim, how can I fix this?
So a few months ago, I accidentally left my blue 4th generation iPod nano in my pant pocket. My clothes were set to wash with the iPod in my pants. I'd completely forgot about it being in there. After finding out what had happened, I let the iPod soak in a jar of rice for about a month. I took it out to see if anything had worked but it wouldn't turn on.
Thinking it might need a charge, I plugged it in and found that it turns on only while it's plugged in and instantly turns off when unplugged. I also noticed that the screen is extremely dim, even when put on full brightness. It's as if I turned the brightness all the way down, even though I'm putting it all the way up. I also tried connecting it to iTunes to try to see what I could find. The attempt was unsuccesful as the iPod went unrecognized on iTunes v10.5.
I'm not sure what else I could do to fix this. Has anything similar to this happened to you before?
Also, I have a 4th generation iPod touch and iPhone 4. I honestly don't need this iPod at all, but it'd still be nice to get it fixed for extra use.
Thanks for any help in advance!
-Tony
I would recommend taking it in to your local Apple Store to see what the people at the Genius Bar can do for you.

4s bricked after trying new update, stuck with black screen with apple logo how can i fix this
Update bricked my 4s
phone , stuck with black screen with apple logo ..
how can I fix thisGreetings r1042,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that your iPhone is not booting up past the Apple logo. In this situation, I would recommend working through the troubleshooting steps located in the attached article.
If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond or doesn't turn on - Apple Support
If your device gets stuck during startup
When starting up, you might see the Apple logo or a red or blue screen for a long time, or your device might restart again. Try these steps:
Make sure that you have iTunes 12 or later on your computer.
Put your device in recovery mode.
When you get the option to restore or update, select Update. This will reinstall iOS without erasing your data.
Have a great day,

I have had my i phone 4 for a few months now. Lately I have to press the button at the bottom multiple times (up to 5) to get the screen to change. Any way to fix this? Thanks
You can try basic from the manual:

Otherwise, make an appointment at the Genius Bar. If it is defective, then they will replace. -

My MacBook was working with 2 screens but, when the secondary screen was disconnected, the main screen put in black and I can't fix it
Take your Mac to an Apple store to be looked at and fixed. There is nothing you can do to fix it. It is a hardware problem. Either the screen has failed or the cable going from the logic board to the screen has failed. For both of those type failures only Apple, or a AARC, can fix it.

I connected an older iPod to my new iTunes account to download my new library to it. Now my new account is not recognizing my password and I can not download anything to my library and iPod touch, can you tell me how to fix this?
Is your device recognized by your computer? If yes, copy the pictures and videos as shown in this article:
Copying personal photos and videos from iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer
If it is not recognized, try this first: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
Disable autosync in iTunes, right click on it in the device list and choose "transfer purchases" to copy apps and other media bought in iTunes to your new library.
Do the same again and choose "backup", to create a manual backup without syncing.
Since your device will be erased due to the new iTunes library during the first sync, you can use this backup afterwards to restore your settings and data.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer before you start, to be able to merge calendars and contacts. -
I wanted to update the songs on my ipod, but when I plugged it into my computer nothing happened, so in the start menu I went to computer to open it that way but there was a metadata-never-index, I have no idea what that is or what to do with it. What can I do.
Thanks for your help. You have verified that the app was purchased with the account your are authorizing, right?
Next try:

My ipod touch is stuck on the apple logo, how can i fix this?
My ipod touch wasnt working so I tried resetting it, now it is stuck on the apple logo. I tried connecting it to itunes but it is not showing up. Any ideas?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Recently I was having trouble opening Firefox at all, so I created a new profile and transferred a number of my settings from the old profile to the new one. Now Firefox opens on the new profile, but it has been periodically crashing, usually after only a few minutes every time. The latest crash gave me this crash signature: nsXPConnect::ReleaseJSContext(JSContext*, int)
Hello Deepa.
You may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author. -
Really need help, would really appreciate it... :)
- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

I have an 6th gen Ipod that keeps making me restore it. How can I fix this issue
I have a 6th gen ipod that keeps making me restore it. It says there is another application running somewhere else. I just want my sons brand new ipod to work without paying apple another $45.00.
Disable any and all A/V or Security software running on your system before syncing your iPod with iTunes and see if that helps. A simple reboot your or PC may help as well.
If you do disable any security software, make sure to re-enable once you have finished syncing the iPod with iTunes.
