Note.  Im use master card  and i live in lebanon.

If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined
If it is a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a Lebanese bank and you are currently in the Lebanon ? If it is then you could check with the card issuer to see if it's them that are declining it, and if not then try contacting iTunes support and see if they know why it's being declined : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • Apple service request declined?!

I am really disappointed about apple declining this request. They told me that the iPod is functioning properly which is clearly not true! I tested again today and I am still getting problems. If I don't get this fixed, apple will be losing a customer which had bought nearly every generation of iPod touch. Someone please help, it's not fair as this problem Is covered under my AppleCare warranty
    Thanks

I think you've missed the point.
If you tell us what the problam is, instead of simply saying that you have a problem, then perhaps we can help you fix it.
If Apple have declined service because the iPod is functioning properly, that means there is no manufacturing problem. Perhaps the issue is that you are unaware of how to get the best out of your iPod, you have a setting incorrect, or you simply need advice on how to do something. None of that is covered by warranty.
But it's exactly what this community is for.

  • Kafka and Apple ID

    Hi,
I've changed my password, which I had forgotten, since then, when I'm trying to sign-in in apple communities I have been asked to choose a name for my profile. Of course I already had a name. As a result I get two messages, invariably: 1/ this name is already taken; 2/ there's already a name associated with this address/Apple ID...
I can have access to my Apple ID profile but not to my community profile because, everytime I try to sign-in the same circus happens and I cannot do anything about it. And of course there's no one to write to when you have a problem associated with your Apple ID or community profile because support is associated with the covergae of your hardware, and mine is old...Apple, what have I done to you?
well, I have a new name...I guess the old one will stay in limbo.

I have the solution!!! I just got it to work!
My apple id has a space in it and I have a solution.
    Requirements:
-an iOS devise with the remote app
-a different apple id that doesn't have spaces (temporary use)
I used my MobileMe account which is separate from my iTunes
So step one, turn home sharing off on your remote app and then turn it back on but this time sign in with the temporary apple id.
Step 2, sign in on apple tv for home sharing with the temp apple id and decline it being used for your iTunes rentals.
Step 3 use the remote app to control the apple tv to settings/general/iTunes store and log in with your apple id which has the space in it. Remember you're typing in with the iOS devise so entering a space is not an issue.
Step 4 sign out of home sharing on the apple tv. Fortunately (this is where I was worried but it worked!) then proceed with the iOS to sign in with a different Apple id, this time using your Apple. id with a space in it.
Step 5 repeat step one but this time sign back in on home sharing the the remote app on your iOS devise with your Apple id that has spaces in it!!!!!

  • IMac crashed, has a weird screen when I try to boot (which it doesn't). What's wrong?

My iMac 24" (model late 2008, I think I ran Lion or Mountain Lion) froze when I was working in Adobe Photoshop, so I had to manually (using the power button) turn it off and on again. Then, 5 minutes later, working in Photoshop again, the computer froze again. But when I manually turned it off and then tried to turn it on again, it wouldn't boot. The bootup screen freezes when the Apple logo is on the screen and the loading icon appears underneath that. Also, the display acts all weird, which is kind of troubling:
    Close up:
Then I tried different keyboard combinations for booting. When I tried cmd + shift ("Safe Mode" or "Safe Boot" I think it's called in English) a loading bar appeared and it loaded all the way until complete. Just when my hopes were up, the loading icon above appeared and it froze again, only then with a different loony pattern:
Does anyone here know what's wrong with my iMac? And what I can do to fix it? FYI: I don't have Apple Care.
    Thanks!

The graphics processor or logic board is failing and would have to be replaced if you want to keep using the machine. Apple would probably decline to service it because of its age. An independent service provider might be willing, but the part may no longer be available.

  • Recovery Partition mandatory for File Vault and unencrypted TM Backup?

I recently had to setup my Macbook Pro from scratch meaning erasing the whole disk and start from there.
The update to Lion took already place a while ago and I had File Vault active. After making a last backup using
TM I erased the disk and all partitions including Recovery partition and used the Leopard system DVD to boot
    the machine.
From there I used the restore function to restore my TM backup to the MacBook. However, as the drive was
not partioned and not formated, I had to do this manually. Apparently, the recovery process via TM does not include
that. After system recovery, I booted from the Macbook and all apps and configuration seemed ok.
I was a little surprised to see that I was able to do this recovery without being asked for ID and password of the user's File Vault access
or the File Vault recovery key. All I needed was the TM ID and password (which is different from the owners ID and password)
I am not sure if this is supposed to work like this but I looks rather easy to gain access to application an data of another user if that
    is all it takes?
Now booting Lion again, I checked File Vault and noticed it was disabled although it was enabled for quite a while and long time
before I took the latest backup. I could not turn it on, after providing a recovery key and asking me wether I wanted to write it down
or safe it with Apple which I declined I wanted to reboot the notebook to start encryption but stopped saying my partition or volume
would not support File Vault. This was GUID and MacOS Extended Journal partition and volume which to my knowledge would
certainly support File Vault. In fact this is basically what I had before when File Vault was turned on and running.
I called Apple support a few times. The second agent told me that it does not work because there is not recovery partition on my
system but there was when I took the latest backup and I do have other means to get the recovery screen. Anyway it seems that
File Vault required a local Recovery partition and I was wondering if anyone can tell me why this dependency exist. If I write down the
recovery key, why would I need it to be stored on my disk as well?
Also, if anyone has an idea if there is a way of creating a local recovery partition without having to go through the lenghty process of installing
Leopard then upgrade to Lion and install all the apps and configure the OS again, would be great? I assume when I am back on Lion and use the TM
backup for recovery, I probably end up with having the Recovery partition deleted and start from scratch again.
I am a little concerned about the fact that it seems so easy to gain access to a protected backup and that the TM restore process does not include
restoring partition and volumes as well. Who knows how many other dependencies exist and users have to reinstall their system again after recovery.
I was following the recovery instruction of Apple but perhaps someone knows a better way to do this?

Just an update, I went ahead and installed Lion again over the existing TM restored installation using the Lion Update file and at least File Vault is working. Interestingly, I still do not have a Recover partition so obviously something new for Apple Support to learn.

  • My new MacBookPro will not boot after an upgrade to Yosemite

I upgraded my brand-new (month old) MacBook Pro to Yosemite tonight, giving it plenty of time to reboot itself -- twice -- finally putting up the login screen.
After logging in, I noticed that the WiFI was off, and even worse, it would not turn on, so I rebooted it again.
After rebooting, it went through another long boot, with a thin slider showing progress, and then it showed the login screen.
I logged in, and then was able to manually enable the WiFi.
However, the system fan was spinning quite loudly.  I checked for any 100% or more processes, but the system was actually quite un-busy.  There was no reason for the fan to be spinning full speed.  The office temperature is a very mild 71 degrees.
So, I did a Shutdown from the Apple menu and left for dinner.
A couple of hours later, came back to boot it, hit the power button, and .. no response.  The MBP was plugged in with power, so it should not be out of battery. I tried holding down the power button for 10s and then 20s of seconds: no joy.
Does anyone know of a way to power up the system?  I tried CMD-OPT P R with power button, 10s and 20s, but still no joy.  The system appears to be completely, utterly dead.
At this point, it's looking like a "bricked" MBP, and I'll have to take it to the Apple store.
Very disappointed in this OS upgrade experience, and Apple's apparent decline in quality control since Steve has passed on.  I guess no one is holding production's virtual toes to the fire anymore, eh?

    Hey aks_sba,
Thanks for the question. There are a few more troubleshooting steps you can attempt before visiting an Apple Store, including resetting the SMC:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

  • 2010 MacBook Pro: Freeze w/ NVDA kernal error. Hardware fail or software problem?

Hundreds of complaints about the hardware design flaw which Apple never addressed in their 2009 model year computers, wherein the GeForce graphics card overheats and causes constant crashing, is here:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/27865920?tstart=0#27865920
How about the same sort of problem in a 2010 MPB running OSX 10.6.8.  Screen locks up, case is very very hot, need to use the Power Key to shut down.  Since they never solved the 2009 problem, they probably used the same flawed design in the 2010 computers.
I have to keep this computer going as long as possible. I've used Macs exclusively since my Mac Plus, but 21st Century Apple is a stinking crappy company, which has ****** with me too much.  I won't be buying anymore Apple products.
There seem to be no driver updates for the NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and OSX 10.6.8.
Lately I get one or two freezes a day, always when browsing in FireFox (latest rev, which is 36.0.4). Need to shut down with power key. The hardware test on the Applications disk says my machine is OK. Is my hardware failing, or is this some software issue with FireFox? Or is OSX 10.6.8 simply too old to keep up with Flash and other web page crap?  Can I slather a bunch of conductive grease inside my case to get more heat flow to the case itself?

  • IPod dead after carrying out RECOMMENDED security update!  Any ideas?

At the beginning of December 2006, I installed the most up to date version of iTunes when prompted to do so. I was then informed by iTunes that my iPod required a security update and so I downloaded this update. My iPod (5th Generation model) seemed to freeze half way through the process. It keeps attempting to load and then crashing when I try to switch it on. The iPod is now no longer being recognised at all by My Computer. I tried all of the recommended troubleshooting steps and advice with no success.
My iPod now doesn’t even turn on properly and given that the PC doesn’t recognise there is a device attached to it, we cannot take any of the troubleshooting steps to fix it.
If changes had been made to the PC, these may have caused the problem and I could have looked at some troubleshooting solutions such as tweaking with the PC registry, updates of drivers etc. However, it is clearly not a PC issue as I have tried to plug the iPod in to three PC’s with no success. The iPod hard drive no longer starts so I'm 99.9% certain it is an issue with the iPod hard drive – the security update has essentially scrambled/killed the iPod hard drive and it seems to need to be completely reset. I have tried the '5 R's' and that did not work. I also managed to get the iPod into diagnostics mode and it says it has issues!
I have had absolutely no problems whatsoever with my iPod prior to attempting this security update (which was recommended by Apple). The iPod has therefore mal-functioned through no fault of my own – if I hadn’t been prompted to download this security update, I have no doubts that it would still be in good working order.
    Any ideas!!
PS - this essential security update and subsequent death of my Ipod occurred exactly one day after my 1 year warranty expired!! Call me a cynic but do I smell a rat?
5th Generation iPod Video 30GB   Windows XP

My problem started after downloading 3.1.2. It gave an error message that said it could not install the program due to an error. It gave me the option of sending the error message to Apple. I declined. My ipod now only displays a screen that shows a usb cable being plugged into itunes. The computer will not read it and it will not sync. My ipod is basically dead. Ive tried all of the fixes to restart it but have had no success. Holding down the power and home button did not work. I held it for nearly 20 seconds. The power will shut off then the apple will appear. Then the usb cable appears again. I purchased my ipod on 10-1-09. Im going to take it back for an exchange.

  • How To see flash on iPad 2, How To see flash on iPad 2

I hace an ipad2 and I would like to see flash without any irregular acción on To my device. Thanks.

You can't. There is no Flash plugin for iOS devices.
Adobe could not demonstrate a secure, bug-free, non-battery draining, efficient Flash plugin to Apple so they declined to allow Flash on iOS devices. See: http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/
Last year Adobe realised Flash on mobile devices is not such a good idea and decided to cease all development of Flash for all mobile devices.

  • Latest iPhone 5/iOS 6 bug: iMessages Disappearing

Really, could the iPhone 5 and iOS 6 be ANY BUGGIER?  Perhaps what I'm reading about quality control at apple on the decline are true?
Today's issue: iMessages seem to be disappearing. I sent an iMessage, and just like that, the whole thread of texts are gone.  I reboot the phone and nothing.  The whole exchange is gone.
Anyone else experiencing this?  NOT happy.

I just experienced this same problem on iOS6 but with the 4s. I was in mid text conversation with a friend that has a year's worth of text exchange and as I hit send, I saw the entire thread disappear. It now starts with that message I had just sent. I've restarted the phone and done soft restores several times to no avail. This happened yesterday and the imessage still hasn't come back yet. I NEED THAT THREAD BACK. Apple, please fix this asap.

  • Forum survey

Logging in today for the first time in months, I was met with a yellow banner across the top of the page asking if I'd like to particpate in a forum survey about he usefullness of this resource.
Posing my query, I've been trying to find that survey so I can answer it.
This forum redesign is awful in every way, shape and form.  It's navigation is hopelessly confusing and searching is an exercise in tirade-inducing futility.  Personally, I prefer the interface of 2 versions ago.

The offer to complete a survey pops up at random. If you decline to answer at the time, the survey cannot be accessed later unless it appears again (it may not unless you clear the cookies in your browser, since the cookie from Apple stores your declining of the survey).

  • Expensive repairs

A few months ago a picture frame fell on my computer and left a dent on the left side of the track pad. Also I accidentally dropped it while in a case from a few inches on its side while it was off. A few weeks ago I brought it into to the Apple store to have it looked at because it was crashing on me at random times and I had random colored lines through my screen sometimes. The guy found a problem with the hard drive and had it repaired via software. He never mentioned any of the small dents on the enclosure. He recommended that I send it out to Apple and I declined at the time because I needed it for school.
Now skip to Saturday. It shut off of me randomly in the morning and then wouldn't boot up. This is the first time this has happened. I brought it into the Apple Store in the same condition that I brought it in a few weeks before. The Mac Genius called me up and immediately commented on some of the dents in the enclosure. Took it to the back to do some more tests and when he came back he informed me that the problems must be due to physical damage and wouldn't be covered under my warranty. He then told me it would cost me about $100 for labor and $850 for parts!!! As a struggling college student I couldn't pay that and left. What are my options, it seems to me if I would have sent it out the first time I wouldn't have had this problem.
    My ideas for my options
-I have heard that home owners insurance often times will cover this. My parents are currently checking into if it will and what their deductible is. In an ideal situation this would work out for me.
-Put my self further into debt and take out a loan against my car or something to be able to afford to get it repaired.
-See if I could somehow part it out and make a some money and then finance a new one (I would get another MBP...I think). (could I even make any money if I tried to part off my computer)
-Repair it myself. I only have a year left on my Apple Care so I wouldn't be missing out on much and paying that much to put it back into warranty, I don't know if it is worth it. I have looked up what it would take to replace the hard drive on http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Mac/ and think that I could do it.
Does anyone have any other suggestions to what I could do or recommend one of them. I could use any advice that you could give me.

    Hi d5itup,
    Welcome to the forum.
-I have heard that home owners insurance often times will cover this. My parents are currently checking into if it will and what their deductible is. In an ideal situation this would work out for me.
My home contents insurance does have a clause for accidental damage to computers. A quick call by your parents to their insurance company should confirm one way or the other if they have that cover. If they do, I would suggest this is your best course of action.
-Put my self further into debt and take out a loan against my car or something to be able to afford to get it repaired.
I would advise against this. You might as well buy a new Mac as opposed to repairing your original one.
-See if I could somehow part it out and make a some money and then finance a new one (I would get another MBP...I think). (could I even make any money if I tried to part off my computer)
Not really an option as you will not get as much as you think you might.
Definitely an option if you are comfortable with a screwdriver. Do you have an external hard disk? If you do, install Mac OS X on it and then start up from the external hd. If all works well, and continues to work well, then it's just the internal hd that's damaged; very easy and very cheap to replace.
External HDs are quite cheap these days and if you do not have one, it would be a wise investment anyway as you can continue to use it with any future computers. The cheapest ones only have USB ports and although you can start up an Intel based Mac from an external USB drive, I would recommend that you get one that has firewire port, or has both USB and firewire.
Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

Hi can anybody help or advise me? I've recently bought the i-phone 4s, I've set up my apple I.D and password but everytime I try and log in it says "this apple I.D has not yet been used on the i-tunes store" I click "review" follow the instructions and agree to the terms and condition's, enter my bank details but it declines every time? I've tried both my accounts and its declined both, this stops me from logging in so I can't download anything for free or buy anything, my sister had the option of skipping the bank details part when she created her apple I.D and just enters her's when buying something, why do I not have that option?? And why is it declining my bank details...please HELP!!!!!

The details I'm entering are correct, I choose visa as my card type, enter my card number, enter my expiry date and my last 3 digts on the reverse of the card, enter my address and zip code plus my home telephone number, click continue and it says "the payment method you have selected has been declined, please enter another payment method". I've lost count how many times I've tried, I've typed my details in slowly making sure I put them in properlly and it still declines it, I've even tried makeing a new apple I.D and when I get to the bank details part it declines it again so I am forced to press cancel and all details are not saved so its just like I'm hitting a brick wall, its ******* me off!!! I can't even download any of the free app's because to do so you must log in but when I do it says "this apple I.D has not yet been used in the i-tunes store" review my details and can't get past the bank details part. So doesn't log me in, I'm honestly out of ideas
