My application doesn't see my properties?

Hi,
I'using JDK 1.4.2_04 and it's JWS features, on a Windows 2000 platform.
In my JNLP file, I specify properties that I should then find in the System.getProperties() set :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="$$host/JWSProvider/download" >
<information>
     <vendor>Dexia</vendor>
     <title>Application de test</title>
</information>
<resources>
     <j2se version="1.4"/>
     <jar href="testApp/testApp.jar"/>
<property name="XXXXXXXX" value="YYYYYYYY" />
</resources>
<application-desc main-class="Main"/>
</jnlp>
The application starts fine, but System.getProperties() doesn't list property XXXXXXXX.
If my property name has some special values, like "sun.java2d.noddraw", it'll show in System.getProperties() .
Stanger, this problem only occurs with JDK 1.4 : if I mention to run a 1.3 JVM (1.3.1_11) by specifying "<j2se version="1.3"/>", my property XXXXXXXX is there as expected!!
Bug or feature? Any help welcome...
(note : the 'href' in the JNLP is missing on purpose)

I believe you need to sign your jar and set all-permissions ...

  • Built application doesn't 'see' user.lib?

    New AppBuilder user here.
    I seem to be having a problem building a standalone application that has a few custom VIs in it.  Debugging showed that it apparently refuses to recognize the custom VIs in my user.lib folder.  I tried disabling them in my source and recompiling, and the rest of it works fine.  Two are VIs in their own right, the third is a VI called from within an .LLB file, again in the user.lib folder.  None of the custom VIs contain any 'custom pieces' from elsewhere.
    I'd built an installer to get the runtime engine, support files, &etc. on the target laptop and it apparently properly installed all these components.  Then I built the *.EXE separately.  No errors.
    As a sanity-check, I built an EXE from another VI that uses only Labview-native VIs &etc. (i.e. nothing from the user.lib folder), 'ported it over to the target laptop, and it works perfectly.  I can only surmise that the EXE isn't properly 'seeing' stuff in the user.lib folder on the target machine.  The crashing EXE _does_ work properly on the source machine.
    I'd even tried (seen in another forum posting) saving the source with the 'duplicate hierarchy' option set and building from _that_ copy.  No good.
    The crashing EXE gives me the error: "Error -2147221164 occurred in class not registered in app.vi" on the laptop.  Googling this error number seems to show that it is an OS error number, with several ni.com-related postings which do not seem to apply to my situation.
    Sound familiar to anybody?  I'm stumped.  Thanks for any help.

    Hi GerdW,
    Yes, I would have thought everything was included in the build too.
    To me, it seems like the three VIs I'd written that I'm using are crashing the EXE on the laptop.  I can pull 'disable' structures around them, build the EXE again and put it on the laptop and everything else in the VI works fine (the three VIs are math-related and, now just output zero values to the data file, but let everything else in the VI function).
    As I said: two of them are *.VI files and the third is a .VI inside a *.LLB file.  They are all IN the C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Lab VIEW 8.5\user.lib\ folders on both machines but it seems the build recognizes them on the source machine but NOT the laptop.
    Nope - not doing any vi server stuff: everything is called directly and these are all standalone machines.  I've even copied the VI out of the LLB right into the user.lib folder (and properly updated the source) and get the same results.  Everything called from vi.lib works fine on both machines but stuff called from user.lib only works on the source machine.
    I could understand it if the stuff wasn't IN the folder but they're identical.  After seeing the first time that things weren't recognized (running the installer I'd created, then the EXE) I physically brought over the entire user.lib folder from the source machine to the laptop, so I _know_ they're the same.
    Thanks for your response - I appreciate any and all help.  This is the first time I've had problems building an EXE and, coincidentally, the first time I've done a build incorporating stuff from user.lib.  My next troubleshooting move will be to hardwire the contents of the offending sub-VIs directly into the main VI and see if it helps (as messy as it will look...).

  • SAPUI5 Application doesn't display in Portal Content Area

    Hallo Guys
    We are developing a SAPUI5 application that needs to be displayed inside the portal.
    The problem is that the SAPUI5 app doesn't display in in the content area, no erors, just a blank page, you have to set the iview to open in a seperate headerless window, then it works. But it needs to work in the content area.
    Our findings: a possible cause is that the IE mode when inside the Portal content area is IE5 Quirks, and when it displays in a new window, the mode changes to a more recent and acceptable mode for SAPUI5, IE9.
    Is there any solution to this? We get the same result with both URL iView and using the SAPUI5 iView in content provided by SAP. We are on NW 7.4
    Regards
    Antonette

    Hi Antonette,
    As Lawrence explained the reason is indeed that quirks and standards mode can't run together on the same page (not only in portal but it's a limitation by MS).
    Since your framework page is in IE5 quirks mode the UI5 application doesn't run in the content area, you can run it by selecting in the iView properties "Launch in a new headerless window (strandards)", that will open the UI5 application in a new window and will work.
    If you wish to run UI5 applications in the content area you can get latest SP of 7.4 and there you will have a new framework page: standards AFP, basically an AFP framework page that works in standards mode.
    In that framework page you can run UI5 applications in the content area, however trying to run old applications (HTMLB, not WD) may fail, for WD you have a paramater you need to pass called sap-ie, passing it with the value of "Edge" will make sure WD applications run in standards mode as well.
    When running the AFP in standards mode you will need to open your HTMLB and other old applications in a new headerless window or new window so you can see the content.
    Hope this helped,
    BR,
    Saar

  • Creative cloud applications doesn't start at all.

    hello, we recentrly had to copy the hard driver from a working windows 7 computers where Adobe Creative Cloud was working correctly to another computer.
    since, this other computer won't launch any of the creative Cloud apps (entreprise/education agreement, created with the creative cloud packager) except for lightroom and captivate (wich are from a different package)
    Anyway, I'm seeing those entries in the logs under the current administrator user, trying to launch illustrator CC. (sorry for the lenght, doesn,t see an option to make it smaller.
    What are the solutions to resolve this issue? is there a way to recent the licensing information or something like that?
    thanks.

    Hi erastyle,
    Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.
    Windows:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\PDApp\CCP\utilities
    Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/provisioning-toolkit-enterprise.html
    Please let us know if it helps.
    Regards,
    Abhijit

  • ITunes doesn't see PSE7 images

    I had Photoshop Elements 8 installed, and iTunes could see those photos just fine. But then my trial expired, so I had to uninstall and use PSE7. The problem is that iTunes no longer sees my PSE7 catalog and instead sees the PSE8 catalog as it was before it was uninstalled. I managed to track down where iTunes apparantly copied the PSE8 catalog and deleted it, but now iTunes doesn't see any PSE catalogs at all.
    Of course there is the option to sync with individual folders, but I'd rather not do that since PSE keeps them nice and organized, and iPod Touch doesn't show the folders within subfolders of the selected folder for photo syncing. So, how can I get iTunes to pick up my PSE7 catalog again?

    I had something similar (if not the same) happen. I was going to transfer some new shows from iTunes on my laptop into my iPod. The msg I get from iTunes: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "(iPod'S name)". Use the iPod Software Updater application to restore the iPod to factory settings." The best part....my iPod's empty! I don't know what happened but I tried to connect it to my work PC and it read the same. I can reload my iPod with songs/shows. That's not an issue BUT I'd like to know what may have caused this and how do I know it won't happen again?

  • Running OpenScript Application doesn't load the forms

    Hi,
    I'm new using OpenScript and I'm facing a problem.
    I need to create scripts to test a site that implement some Oracle Forms, I can open IE and use the site without problems, BUT when I run OpenScript to create the script, the application doesn't load the forms!!!
    After many attempts I found that someone changed the jvm.dll file of the JInitiator, I changed it again to the installation one, and I was able to see the form and recording the script, but when I play the script doesn't load the form!!!!
    If I take a look to the screenshots, I can see the forms I recorded.
    Now the change I did on the JInitiator only works from time to time!
    Finally when I'm using the site and it doesn't load the forms I see this error on the bottom of the page: "error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Activator"
    Anyone have an idea of what is happen and how to fix it?
    These are the versions I'm using:
    OpenScrip: 9.2.0.0 Production - Build ID: 2.5.0.0370
    JInitiator: 1.3.1.29
    IE: 7.0.5730.131C

    A screen shot from Mission Control might be enlightening.  If you can see the application window in Mission Control, what happens if you move it from one desktop to another? Or what happens if you eliminate one of the desktops?

  • My application doesn't start when I run the domain as windows service

    I am using weblogic 10.3.2 and i created a domain called rec_domain and i have AdminServer
    also i deployed application called myApplication to the rec_domain
    then i created windows service to run the server as a windows service
    The Script for Setting Up a Server as a Windows Service:
    echo off
    SETLOCAL
    set DOMAIN_NAME=rec_domain
    set USERDOMAIN_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\rec_domain
    set SERVER_NAME=AdminServer
    set WLS_USER=usernmae

    set JAVA_VENDOR=BEA
    set JAVA_HOME=C:\Oracle\Middleware\jrockit_160_05
    set MEM_ARGS=-Xms40m -Xmx250m
    call "C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin\installSvc.cmd"
    ENDLOCAL
    the service was created successfully and when i restart the computer it runs the adminserver successfully
    but it doesn't start myApplication_
    does anyone know where is the problem?
    Edited by: Wael Ibrahim on 28/12/2009 05:48 ص

    Hi Wael,
    Can you please specify, What do u mean by Application Doesn't start? Is it Moving to PREPARED State Rather than ACTIVE state? Or the Application Health is not OK? Are you seeing any Warning or Error Message while starting the Server related to Deployment?
    As the Production Mode is On...So I just wanted to confirm that By Mistake have u used the AutoDeploy feature to deploy Applications...Because the AutoDeploy Feature Doesn't Work in Production_Mode=true.
    After Configuring the Windows Service Have you tried to Deploy the Application Freshly? Was it Successful?
    Thanks

  • Message Queue 4.4 doesn't know "jms.properties" ?

    Sun JMS Tutorial illustrates using a properties file to supply context properties. You define a System property "jms.properties" to point to the location of the properties file:
    java -Djms.properties=%J2EE_HOME%\config\jms_client.propertiesInside of said file is the properties in question (these are a surmise; the contents are nowhere documented).
    java.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=file:///C:/TempThen a call to InitialContext() will succeed.
    But the Tutorial assumes you're running under J2EE, and I'm not. I'm using the stand-alone Message Queue 4.4. If I define the properties on the command line,
    java -Djava.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory -Djava.naming.provider.url=file:///C:/Tempthen InitialContext() succeeds.
    If I explicitly dump the contents of the file into System.properties,
           String
           prop = System.getProperty( "jms.properties" );
           Properties props = System.getProperties();
           try  {
               java.io.File pf = new java.io.File( prop );
               props.load( new java.io.FileInputStream(pf) );
           catch( Exception ex )  { ex.printStackTrace(); }Then they get defined and InitialContext() tries to use them. But if I don't then they never get defined. Obviously the Tutorial expects that someone will do that, but who? AFAIK, both environments use the same naming library.
    Has the behavior of MQ changed since version 1.3 of the tutorial? Or is J2EE doing something that the standalone product doesn't?

    This is all about JNDI configuration. Before you can look up an object in a JNDI repository you need to tell the JNDI runtime which JNDI provider to use. This means you need to set the system properties java.naming.factory.initial and java.naming.provider.url to specify which JNDI provider to use and where the data is located. There's a bit about this in the JNDI tutorial [http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/tutorial/basics/prepare/initial.html|http://java.sun.com/products/jndi/tutorial/basics/prepare/initial.html] .
    The tutorial you are running uses the simple file-based JNDI provider known as "fscontext" and included in fscontext.jar.
    That tutorial seems to be reading the jms.properties property and importing its contents, though I can't see where that is supposed to happen and so am not surprised it doesn't work. jms.properties is not, as far as I can see, a standard property name.
    The MQ 4.4 documentation describes how to configure an InitialContext to use fscontext by configuring those properties directly. This would definitely work!
    [http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-0029/aeqbb?a=view|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-0029/aeqbb?a=view]
    Note that your JNDI datastore (which you've defined to be in C:\Temp) will start off empty, so any lookups will fail unless you've inserted connection factories or destinations in there yourself. I see that is covered elsewhere in the JMS tutorial you were following. There's also a simple MQ GUI tool that can do this. [http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-0027/aeoaz?a=view|http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/821-0027/aeoaz?a=view]
    Finally, if you're simply trying to learn about JMS and MQ you can skip the use of JNDI completely and simply instantiate the underlying connection factories explicitly. This wouldn't be appropriate in a production environment (where it is recommended to store such objects in a central store) but for developmeht purposes would work just fine.

  • Compose email with formatting, receiver doesn't see it correctly?

    Hi,
    When I compose an email with mail.app and paste images into the text in strategic places, the receiver (using Windows or gmail as email viewer) doesn't see the email formatted correctly. That is, the images are just included as attachments, not appearing in the right place. However, when I look at the mail in "sent items" it looks fine.
    Is there any way to fix this? I actually had a friend say, "it doesn't look right on windows because you're using a Mac" -- is he right? Say it ain't so!
    slegge

    There are no set standards for inline attachments.
    If you look at the actual data stream you'll find that all the message text is sent first, followed by a data block for each attached file.
    Mail puts markers inline to flag where each attachment should be rendered, but that's specific to Mail and other email application may not understand or support that. In these cases the attachments are typically shown at the end, or in some other manner.
    The only real solution is to create HTML-formatted email, which gives you the same control you'd have if you were building a web page, but that's a lot more work, and not actually easy to do in Mail.app.

  • Coldfusion 9 doesn't see java servlets annotated by WebServlet annotation.

    Hi.
    I'm trying to run java servlet application on coldfusion 9 running on top of iis 7 server.
    Also i'm using java 1.7.
    Coldfusion seems doesn't see servlets annotated by WebServlet annotation. I get 404 server response.
    If i add servlets mapping in web.xml everything works fine, except one thing, my application uses WebSockets, which doesn't has xml configuration,
    only annotation @ServerEndpoint.
    So i can't figure out, why my annotations don't work.
    According to coldfusion 9 and java ee, annotations should work and it depends on java version which i use with coldfusion.
    Could you help me please, may be there is a some attribute which i need to set to use annotations like @WebServlet or something like this.
    Thanks.

    ColdFusion 9 "does see" Java Servlets annotated by the WebServlet annotation. A 404 response means in all likelihood that there is a path issue. Verify that your annotation's url-patterns attribute includes the path to the ColdFusion page calling the Servlet.

  • Windows 7 doesn't display pdf properties

    Windows 7 doesn't display pdf properties/metadata, like title, comments, author, subject etc. This was a great feature in XP. Anybody know a workaround?

    On this site is explained how to display the pdf properties in windows 7 explorer.
    http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7files/thread/203b60ca-b773-4931-85ad-a5 e67656d6ce
    steps:
    open the file explorer in windows7
    select libraries from the left navigation bar
    right click on the libraries heading.
    select "new" > "library"
    give the library a name e.g. "sales orders".
    press the button "include new folder" to select the folder where the pdf files are in. e.g. "D:\files\sales\orders\"
    select (top-right) "arange by" and select e.g. "name".
    you should now be able to see the pdf properties (don't forget to enable the subject etc. collums)
    See picture..
    Good luck!!

  • Pxi: embedded application doesn't launch at boot up

    I selected the "Launch application at boot-up" in the "Network options/RT Target:Miscellaneous" menu before creating my application but it still doesn't launch before I open the application on a local machine (the application in the PXI seems to "wake up" then). I checked that the embedded Labview RT is launching at the PXI boot-up, and that the startup.exe has been updated correctly (I checked it with a ftp client).
    Any idea about why the application doesn't launch ?

    hi there
    - first make sure your app dosn't wait for any kind of input.
    - there are some hardware - switches to avoid the execution of startup.exe. see the documentation of your PXI-system (for PXI-8186 see page 2-12)
    Best regards

  • Iweb doesn't see my old domains under 10.9 after the upgrade from 10.7 Please help

    Hi everybody,
    iweb doesn't see my old domains under 10.9 after the upgrade from 10.7 Please help
    It gives me an option to choose a domain but when I go to "sites" it doesn't recognize none of them.
    Thanks :-)

    In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
    To open your domain file in Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
    do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
    You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
    Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
    WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.
