My calendar is frozen on my 3gs

my calendar is frozen on my 3gs (recently upgraded to ios5). I was putting in a new entry, but when I touch the done or cancel button, nothing happens (it doesn't go back to the calendar). Help!!

I had the same problem! K by no means am I any kind of expert... just a disclaimer.
I plugged my phone into my computer, and using iTunes, I restored it to its factory settings. Then it re-started and I synched it to the latest time synch time (I hope that makes sense). So maybe try restoring it to defaut? All my apps and calendar stuff was backed up to my mac computer, so it worked for me.

The following peocess corrects the calendar entry:
edit the contact & change the birthday, save the change; edit the contact & change the birthday to the correct value, save the change again. The calendar entry then displays on the correct date. Alternatively as a temp solution I can just de-select the "birthdays" calendar which stops the icon being displayed.
Thanks for your advice, I think that it's n going to be a slow process to fix all the entries for not much return.

Did another window open with the pasted information? If so, try hitting "enter/return" key and "delete" key at the same time. That should get rid of the current action on the ical, the extra window should go bye-bye, and all should be fine with the world.

I have been using outlook calendar for a while, but i have not updated my phone os for a while due to the previous nightmare issues connected with syncing with iphone 3gs and outlook.

Hold down the home and sleep keys, past when you see the red power down slider, and unitl you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that clears it. It's the equivalent of a computer's control/alt/delete. You shouldn't lose data although you may lose your most recent entry.

IPhone Calendar app shows no calendars after iOS4 upgrade on 3GS

I upgraded my iPhone 3GS to iOS 4.0 and now I cannot see any calendars in the built-in calendar app. My calendar is synchronized with my company Exchange server over the air and in the past I always had a button "Calendars" in the top-left corner of the calendar app on the phone, which I could use to show the calendar from the exchange server or my local calendar on the phone. That button is now gone and the entire calendar is empty.
Also, when I try to create an event, it fails with the error "Unable to Save Event - The event has no calendar set.". But again there is no more control on the screen to create an event that would let me specify which calendar it should go on.
The rest of the synchronization with the Exchange server works fine, i.e. all my contacts and email sync nicely.
I've also tried to sync with my MobileMe calendar instead, and it has the same problem - I cannot see any calendars on the phone.
I've tried to reset things by turning calendar sync off for the Exchange account, waiting a while, even rebooting the phone, and turning it back on - but to no avail.
Is there any way to reset just the calendar app? It almost looks like its internal table that lists all available calendars is bugged...

I upgraded my iPod Touch 8GB to iOS 4.0 and I was getting the identical problem to afalk42. I was trying to sync using the Microsoft Exchange option to my Google Apps personal domain account. This was flawless under OS version 3.
I tried to restore from a previous backup via iTunes but the problem was still evident.
I performed a factory restore via iTunes and then before restoring from my backup, checked that the unit was still iOS 4.0 (it was), and configured again for Exchange sync.
This worked perfectly- the 4 calendars from my Google apps account were all visible and sync'd.
I then initiated a restore from my last backup, leaving the Exchange configuration I just tested that worked configured. The unit restored, then auto-restarted as it was supposed to. When it came back it re-installed all my apps and music from iTunes as part of the post restore sync (took a fair while), but I stopped it syncing the movies I had, for the moment.
When it all came back, the Exchange settings I had set after the factory restore but before the restore from backup remained intact and still functioned.
So I am now happy it is all working, but what a pain!

Calendar has frozen when turning iCloud on.

I have successfully turned on iCloud and it syncs calendars on my iPhone and my MacBook Air. On my iMac I have had a drop-down dialogue for some hours now telling me, "Moving calendars to server account...."
I have forced it to quit 3 times now (the only thing I can do with it apart from dragging the Calendar window around the screen. I have shut down and restarted, opened Calendar again and it remains in this vegetative state. It is syncing to some degree as I have made changes on the MBA and some have registered on the iMac.
Does anyone have a way of ending this state please?

Out of the blue this morning my calendar seems to be rendered useless. It opens but it doesn't want to respond to anything, it doesn't even show in the top menu when I click on it. I've restarted the computer a couple of times, still the same result. I really rely on this for work. Any suggestions?

How do I get my new Mac to sync existing calendar appointments from my Iphone 3gs?

I have set up Mobile Me on both my phone and the Mac, and it is syncing new appointments, but I can't get existing appointments from my phone on to the Mac. Thanks, Rachel

You will need a program such as Senuti or PodWorks to transfer the other tunes back to the Mac.
The iPod is one way affair except for purchase tunes/video.

I tried to re-synch it with the PC iTunes, but no luck, even when re-checking the boxes for Outlook...

I should mention that i have NOT upgraded to iOS 5 on the 3GS and don't want to. Therefore, no iCloud on the phone.

Calendar frozen on Macbook Pro with Yosemite

When trying to sync calendars on my Macbook Pro with iPhone 4S, calendars has frozen with message "Moving calendars to server account". I have to force quit to get out. Syncing had been working fine until 2 days ago. All settings on Macbook and phone are correct.
Any suggestions?

Quit Calendar and also the Reminders application, if it's running. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data.
In the iCloud preference pane, uncheck the boxes marked Calendars and Reminders. You'll be prompted to confirm that you want to delete your iCloud calendars and reminders from the computer. They'll still be on iCloud.
Relaunch Calendar and select
Calendar ▹ Preferences... ▹ Accounts
Click the plus-sign button at the bottom of the account list on the left (which may now be empty) to add a new account. Select iCloud and enter your credentials. Your iCloud calendars should appear after a brief delay.
Do the same with Reminders.
