My daughter is unable to send text to other iphone users from her iphone! Other types of phones receive texts. What is wrong with the setting that is causing this?
why can my daughter send texts to other brands of phones, but not the iphone, She can received texts from iphones, but when she tries to send me a text from her iphone (or anyone else with an iphone), the messages don't send!
Turn iMessage off, then on again.
Make sure 'Send as SMS' is turned on.

A friend of mine has an iPhone4 (not 4s) and she has been dropping it when she was drunk. She also lost it for nearly a week and it got handed back to her, luckily. She blocked the phone after she lost it so that other's couldn't use her contract (which is paid by her father). When she received the phone back, she asked O2 to unblock it an they gave her a new sim card and asked her to wait 24 hours. It started working again, for about a day, where she could receive and send texts/calls and Internet - the lot! But after that day, she can no longer get any signal on her phone to send or receive calls or texts. We have tried putting the sim card in another phone to see if that was the problem, but it worked fine with full signal, so we're guessing that O2 aren't the problem. I'm guessing that it is the phone but I'm not sure whether it's a hardware issue or software. We've recently installed the new iOS5 today and it still doesn't work correctly. Do you think that some hardware needs to be replaced? I was wondering if anyone knew if the phone signal and 3G signal run on the same antena or different ones in the 4S?

My internet seems to be working fine, but I cant receive or make calls. I went to apple store to tell them about that, they did a factory setting, but still can't get it working and later told me that its not the phone's fault but O2's fault because I could see the O2 on top, with no any bars and she assumed that i would not have been able to see the O2 written on top if it wasn't O2 fault. I told them that I can use the internet from O2 however, but in reply she asked me to show the internet (i still wonder what she meant by that), I tried to explain that the internet is from my data plan, but no... she insisted me on showing the internet, i wonder what exactly did she wanted to prove by that. Or maybe she was in a hurry to get home, because it was almost at the end of the day. Anyway I have changed my sim and it seems to be working fine on another phone, but its the same problem in my iphone 4. I haven't been able to use my phone for more than a month now and its really frustating. I have booked another appointment with apple day after tomorrow, just hoping for the best now

Why am I being charged to text another iPhone user from my iPhone
I have a pre-paid AT&T phone and am charged per text. Normally it uses iMessage when I text other iPhone users and I am not charged. When my friend that also has some kind of pre-paid, non-standard plan (not AT&T, t-molbie, or verizon) texts me on her iphone, I am charged for it. Initally, I had some problems with being charged from other iphone users, but that may have been resolved when my IPad captured of the text first, before the phone did.

Why are my daughter's contacts the only one showing up on my MB and why do all text messages now, including on the MB and my iPhone show up now as if she's receiving them, even when they are sent to me based on her contact list?
It's called iMessage, new in iOS 5.0...these messages are going as iMessages, and as designed, they appear on all of your iOS devices(your Apple ID on your daughter's phone). Either turn iMessage off on your daughter's phone or get her her own Apple ID & wipe her phone & then setup it up again using her own Apple ID. Your daughter having her own Apple ID is recommended if you want to fully take advantage of iCloud, FaceTime, iMessage, etc. She can still use your iTunes account.

After 'upgrading' to iOS 7.0.2, I am unable to send or receive photos in iMessage. With the previous iOS, it was no problem. Is there a fix? Apple support is the usual 'black hole' that ***** up endless time.
Apple guys are deleting posts. I have found my posts have been deleted. Apple should MUST let us downgrade at least to previous release from current which was working fine.

Unable to send iMessage to iOS / OSX users
This is a recent problem, because everything worked just fine until now.
I have a Macbook Air, an iPhone and an iPad and since this morning, I noticed that I am unable to send messages to iOS / OSX users (iMessage messages) using my Macbook
They send just fine using my iPad and my iPhone, but when I try sending a message to an iMessage enabled phone number using my Macbook I get the red exclamation error stating "your message could not be sent"
I have tried signing out and signing back into my iMessage account but this did not work. Any ideas??

What the ****? I didnt ask it to do that. invasion of my proivacy ****** ********Instead of Ignore, you must have touched the button for Message. I have an iMac desk top, iPad, and two iPhones. Someone (a family relative) has somehow copied text messages, and possibly emails from our iPhones, and sent them to other people. He has had access to my wife's iPhone numerous times. Can I check our iPhones to detect any surveillance apps(bugs) on them?
Whose Apple ID are you using? It sounds like whoever co-opted the account may have changed the security questions as well.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Verizon wiping out old phones would have nothing to do with it. The phone is no longer associated with the number, so wiping the phone would have no effect. It is your Apple ID which is the problem. You have iMessage turned on for your Apple ID. iPhones which have your Apple ID associated with your contact will send texts to your Apple ID, not your phone #. If you have another Apple device which can use iMessage, you could turn off iMessage in that device, but as long as your friends have your Apple ID associated with your contact and you have turned on iMessage in an Apple device and never turned it off before switching from an Apple device to another platform, you will have this problem.
You can bet that Apple will not address the problem, as they don't see it as a problem if someone is using a phone other than an iPhone. Apple expects no one will ever switch away from an iPhone once one has been used. Therefore, no problem for them to address.
The problem lies with Apple wanting their users to go through yet another proprietary interface, iMessage, which the MAJORITY of all smartphone users do not have access.
