My delphi code only works in DAQ driver 6.6 but not in upper version. Why?

Hi,
I'm using delphi 6 to program my application. My code was working fine if I'm using DAQ driver 6.6. Now I want to update my driver, but my code doesn't work. It doesn't work for another version of driver, except 6.6. My program will crash if not using 6.6. I'm not using ActiveX controls to communicate with the card. I'm using dll instead. I wonder is it some functions in 6.6 no longer exist in upper version. My code is in the attachment. Thank you

That is probably the case there. One thing you can do to double check if that is actually the problem is to probe each NI-DAQ function and see which one is giving you the error.
Then, you can open the NI-DAQ on line help and search for the function you used on your code. If you can't find it, that means the new version of the driver doesn't support that function anymore.

No, no more rights are needed. If it is working fine into BP older than this one, raise a SR and ask support guys to file a bug. But you have to show them step-by-step working into the older one and not working on newer. It is quite difficult happen, but maybe this feature broken on new business patch 20.

Maybe I understood your problem. Get to Settings > Sounds > Ringers and Alerts >Turn Change With Buttons to Off. And if your Side Switch is assigned to 'Mute', turn it back on, else, use the control center to turn off mute.

My upgraded version of mail with Windstream will not work with Mozilla Firefox. Why? Works find with the old Classic but not the new version

It switches to the Classic view but not the new view which I really like.... My laptop has Google Chrome and it has not problems with this new view of Windstream only with Mozilla Firefox 5, the other version never had any problems either...I had 3 and had no problems till I up graded....

I do agree that ''something'' needs to be done better with regards to plugins for Firefox, but I do disagree with you as to whose responsibility that ''something'' is.

My password only works to log into the computer, but not to make admin changes, even though I am the admin account on the computer. This happened after I tried to change the computer's name. Is there any way to fix this?

Bought my laptop off my room mate and he had master reset it to default. This still left his name as the computer name and I wanted to change that. Tried to rename it under the advanced changes section, and now it isn't recognizing my password for anything more than logging in. I can't unlock the settings to make further changes (or change it back). I have had my room mate try all of his old passwords and usernames, to no avail. Is there a way to reset this? It's also not letting me wipe the drive and start fresh again because, alas, I don't have access without the password. Any advice would be very helpful. Thank you!

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.

Position encoder works with PCI-MIO-16E-4 but not with PCI-6062E, why?

I am using A BNC-2090 to connect Agilent HEDS-6540 position encoder to my PCI-6052E. The application works fine with my 12 bit NI card PCI-MIO-16E-4, But with the new card I get extra counts in my position. ex 1052 pulses when it is only supposed to be 1000 counts in a complete revolution. This setup still works great with the old card, meaning I can just plug into the other card and run the same app on the same computer, just a different device number. I have not been able to figure this out.

You might be seeing the affects of dithing with your signal. I'm not sure why it would be on one board, though not the other, one counter must be more sensitive. Anyway, dithering is caused by vibration or other outside forces that cause small glitches that add to the count total for the counter. There is a way around this, and that is to use a counte convertor. There is a page on this website that tells how to make one. The link is below. I would sugget trying this to see if it will fix the problem.

Retouch and red eye tricks work on iMac but not on Notebooks. Why?

I am thrilled to have access to the "hidden" red eye and retouch tools. (Control + Caps Lock + "9"; Followed by Tab)
However, I have noticed they only work on the standard Apple Keyboard, but not on the notebook (MacBook or MacBook Pro) keyboards. (An Apple Keyboard plugged into USB on a notebook will work.) Is there a way to achieve the same results for red eye and retouch using a notebook keyboard?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. I hadn't tried that on my new MacBook Pro till you brought it up. I can't get it to work either. Tried all sorts of permuatations with the function key. I don't know enough about the key mapping to determine how the keys on the laptop differ to those on the regular keyboard. I'm sure someone will figure it out eventually. Thanks for the heads up.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. FPGA code only works on alternate executions

Hi,
I have some code I wrote for FPGA which, by itself, works fine. I tried to use "Open FPGA VI Reference" as part of a previous (non-FPGA based) VI. However, I find that the full code only works on alternate executions. I thought this may be because the FPGA VI is not being reset properly. However, I have used "Close FPGA VI Reference" and chose "Close and Reset" and the problem remains.

I hope you are doing well today! What version of LabVIEW FPGA are you using? When you say you are doing 'alternate executions', what exactly do you mean? Do you run your host VI, stop it and then run it again? Have you tried just using Close instead of resetting the FPGA VI? Also, what are you using the reference for? What are you invoking? It would, also, be better if you post a screenshot of your VI.

Just in case you are not running iOS 7 and don't have the control center feature.....
If you see a lock icon in the upper right corner of the screen - then the screen orientation is locked.
Try the side switch above the volume rocker first and see if that unlocks the screen. If that doesn't do it and you are running iOS 5 or 6, double tap the home button and swipe to the right and look for the lock icon all the way to the left.
If you are running iOS 7, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to the control center and the lock icon is in the row of icons at the top all the way to the right.
If the screen is unlocked but still will not rotate, reset the iPad.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the button

If I give the Input date 1930/10/27 (in english), then program must display the date as S5.10.27 (it's japanese date with 'S' indicating ERA)
But this will happpen only when i run the program in JDK 6.0.
In JDK 1.5, for the above input, the output is 1930/10/27 (which is wrong)
Still I don't have compilation and running problems in both. Can anybody expalin why it is so?

My CD/DVD drive reads CDs but not DVDs

Hi All
I have a TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633M DVD drive in my laptop and after about 6 months of use, the drive stopped reading/writing DVDs. It still reads CDs fine and occasionally will read a DVD (completely unprovoked and without warning...!) but is very temperamental and will randomly just stop reading a DVD. Often, the drive will eject and give an error message telling me to insert a disc. I'm not sure what to do.
I'm running Windows Vista 32-bit. I have tried running the Microsoft Fixit application, which recognises that the drive is failing to read DVDs but offers nothing more helpful than that and doesn't fix anything (despite its name...). I have been reading through a number of different forums and have found a range of advice: replacing the drive, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers or editing the registry. What should I be doing to fix this problem? Naturally, I'd prefer not to have to replace the drive itself, but if that's the only way...

The registry thing only works if the drive is completely AWOL from the system so that it does not appear as a drive in "My Computer"....not your issue. The DVD and the CD use different lasers and it is not uncommon for one to go bad and the other not. You can check the function of the DVD by trying to boot from a bootable DVD. If you cannot the drive is bad and needs to be replaced. If it works sometimes and not others it could just need a good cleaning with a DVD lens cleaner.

I develop my pages in Front Page and I know that the music only works in IE, so if someone can tell me how to correct this problem as it is important as I use fire fox as my main browser.

If a website uses BGSOUND then it will only work in IE.
BGSOUND is not compatible with other browsers like Firefox.

Generate DDL works in old version of SQL Developer, but not in new versions

Hello all,
How to generate DDL in new versions of Oracle SQL Developer for production Oracle database?
For production database, the generate DDL feature works fine in old versions (version 1.5.5) of Oracle SQL Developer, SQuirrel, Toad and many other similar tools, but not the new versions of Oracle SQL Developer (such as 2.1.1.64.45).
The SQL tab for a table is blank for me in production databases. Of course, it works fine in development Oracle database.
I did some research that many articles describe SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE as the required read-only role in production database. Our DBA did a test to grant me this role temporarily, and it worked for me to generate DDL using new Oracle SQL Developer. It is pain for me to ask for this role.
Is there a plug-in or work-around, so the new versions of Oracle SQL Developer can have this generate DDL feature in production without the mentioned SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE?
I could not find the answer in older forum threads.
For now, I will have to install older versions of Oracle SQL Developer.

I've seen a couple posts about people not being able to generate DDL for other users. To date, I've never seen a anybody post a workaround, nor have I seen one of the developers post a response, nor have I seen anybody say they've submitted a SR.
I think I remember reading somewhere that the new version of SQL Developer uses dbms_metadata.get_ddl to generate DDLS, rather than some custom query built on top of catalog views...which could explain why it use to work, but no longer does. But whether or not this is true, I don't know.
You could try submitting a SR and see if Oracle responds saying that it's a known bug and will be fixed in the next release. Until then, unless you get the role, you're stuck using something else for DDL generation.
