My download window always freezes up when brought up, and i have 2 active downloads i can't get rid of, is there another way to cancel them?
i am not able to click on any icon in the window, it displays that it is not responding. i went to my computer and from downloads there, tried deleting the download, but that again did not work

If all she seeks to do is to change the display name, and she’s willing to leave the account name unchanged, then she could do the following: log in as the administrative user and open the Users & Groups pane of System Preferences. If the padlock in the lower-left corner is locked, unlock it. Select the account that shows your brother-in-law’s name on the left-hand side of the window, and then on the right-hand side, change the text in the “Full name” textbox to her preferred display name. If desired, click on the padlock in the lower-left corner to relock it. -
When I run the Dr. Fone software it shows they are still on my iPad 2 but it costs 60-70 dollars. Is there another way to retrieve them? They were not backed up on Itunes like I thought they were. Please help!!
Recover software as you have described is pretty much your only option - keep in mind that if wait, some of the currently recoverable data may well be over-written and lost.

MacBook Pro. Was Streaming radio. When came back to computer it appeared to have shut off. Now can't get it to respond in any way. Now that you can't remove the battery, I don't know how to get it to quit, although it doesn't appear to be making any noise, so might have quit on it's own. Any ideas? Thanks!
I honestly don't remember what it came with though I do remember having two drives so long ago. Since then I've had to replace them with newer, faster ones, and just didn't really need a second drive. I don't copy cds, I just need something to read DVDS (which the current one doesn't seem to want to do) and occasionally burn something.
I bought the MacPro becuase I am a tireless multitasker, having super memory eating programs on at all times. Right now I am working in Photoshop while watching a movie, with two P2P programs open, two chat programs and surfing the internet, with two monitors active so I can see everything.. I can't imagine the average pc doing this wthout blowing up Mac Pros are the ultimate computer for those that like to do a lot at once.
The speed and memory capacity of the Mac Pro make it the best computer hands down to handle a mind that can't be satisfied with doing just one thing at a time!
And six years after buying it, it can still eat the average pc for breakfast How's that for great? -

Quit then relaunch Safari.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Safari
Move the LastSession.plist file from the Safari folder to the Trash.

I have a yahoo search bar which was installed during a download and installation of SIW.exe a system information application from http://gtopala.com/. It was the freeware version which is add based software. However I didn't expect that the search function would be such a nusance and interfere with Firefox's functions.
The search bar is acting like a App tab that I can't move or get rid of. Ther is no option to unpin the object when I right click on the bar or to change it in any way using the 'group your tab' function to the right of the tab tool bar.Reply: Cor-el > Excellent!! I deleted half of my songs from windows media player on my computer and can't play them in my I tunes library because the files can't be found. Is there a way I can get them back?
Restore them from the recycle bin if they are there, or your backup, or find an unerase or file recovery tool, or see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device if you have one.

I bought my iPhone 5 C last week and is still all brand new. My phone was alright thses days but suddendly when i pressed the Home button to get out of an app, it didn't respond and also when i want to see the time I press the Home button but it doesn't show the lock screen. Do I need to go to an Apple Store or is there another way to fix this problem? I have read the Helping Center in the Apple Web but still it didn't help to solve my problem. Had been using the Itunes Store just fine. I am running MacOSX 10.4.11 and Itunes 7. Now there is an ad that says to download to Itunes 10. I cannot download Itunes 10 with my operating system. It won't let me open the Itunes Store, though.

You have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it! Helps to tell them you have an iPad/iPhone & you can't run 10.6.

Have you tried to get rid of that mystery account via Mail's Preferences >Accounts window: selecting and and clicking the "-" key? If so, what happens?
If that doesn't work you should be able to edit the .plist file for Mail and remove it from there. First, download Pref Setter and install it. Then, go to /Users/<your username>/Library/Preferences and scroll through the list until you find com.apple.Mail.plist and Option-drag it to your Desktop to create a copy.
Now open the original .plist file in the Preferences folder (the one you just copied to your Desktop) using Pref Setter and type "accou" in the search box at the top right; this will narrow your results to four items; we're only interested in the one labeled "MailAccounts".
You will need to click on the disclosure triangle to find the mystery account, since they are all listed with the account name. When you find it, select the Item number for it and press the large Delete key on your keyboard to delete it; this will then change the numbering for all the remaining accounts. You can Save the file and quit Pref Setter.
Restart Mail and go to Preferences >Composing and look for the line that says "Send new mail from:" and use the popup menu next to it to choose "Account of last mailbox viewed". This means that whichever mailbox is used to view an email to, that is the account chosen automatically to send email from. So if you husband read an email to him in his account and he wanted to reply or send a new email, his account should be the one used to send. Likewise for you.

When I turn on the iMac the screen and apps appear as always. However there is 1 app ( BBC iplayer Desktop) which seems to freeze everything. The mouse works OK but when I click on any app or on the apple logo, nothing happens. I can't even turn it off. What should I do?
