My Firefox has been "captured" by an anti virus company offering to sell me a product fix the problem. I'm not allowed a firefox connection.

Is there a "fixing" feature at Firefox to eliminate this virus?

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.<br />
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
