My gmail account isn't showing up anymore.

Hi,
My gmail account on my iPhone isn't showing any - new or old - messages on my iPhone.
Any suggestions? I did a hard reset already for another problem, but that is pretty much all I've tried.

I receive email from a yahoo account and a gmail account. thunderbird always shows a notice when yahoo mail arrives but never for gmail and the settings are the same help! TIA

well turn it off and see if that makes a change. After all IDLE is a server technology. If Google supports it and Yahoo does not then configuring Thunderbird the same means nothing. (I have no idea if Yahoo support it or not)

  • Mavericks Gmail account - new mail showing up in Archive but not in Inbox

For a Gmail account, new mail seems to be showing up in the "Archive" folder for that account (which seems to be mapped to Gmail's "All Mail").
However it isn't showing up in the Inbox for the account.
The settings seem identical to another Gmail account where mail is showing up in the Inbox.
Any thoughts of what I might do to get these mails to show up in the Inbox?
    Thanks,
    Doug

I don't know. I've given up for now and am using Mailplane. I will be doing a write-up on it, but it seems to be working much better than Airmail even.
The funny thing about using Mailplane, which is a lot more directly connected to Gmail than any of the other clients, is that for the first time I'm seeing that even the iOS Mail app, which I thought had no problems, is actually lagging quite a lot behind the actual Gmail contents!
I think Mail.app is hopeless at this point. Maybe it's good if you want to transfer an an entire IMAP set of folders between accounts if you are migrating (as is Thunderbird). But basically it's become extremely unreliable under Mavericks. I can't believe Apple let it out of the door.

  • When I log onto my macbook, my user account isn't showing up. All that shows up is a gray screen with only two boxes saying "Name" and "Password". How do I fix this?

There was one time where my wi-fi wasn't connecting so I tried to turn it back on. A window popped up but I had alrdy clicked enter before I read it, but it said something like "...will change settings, is that okay...?" And then wi-fi still would not connect. So I tried restarting my computer, but when it turned on, my user account did not show up and all there was on the screen was two boxes that asked for name and password. I was the only person using my macbook so I never set up a password for it. Has anyone had this problem? How do I fix this?

Since I'm not in front of your computer I can't tell what you see - I can only guess and give a hint. So once again, if the disk name on your Mac is "Macintosh HD", when you boot in Recovery Mode, and start up the Terminal in "Utilities" menu, and then type in the command:
        df -k
you should see a list of "volumes" - one of which is named "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" (but yours could be anything) and in that folder there is another folder called "Users" and in that folder is the names of the home directories of the user accounts (and the names that you can enter into the login screen) that you are looking for. So if you are not familiar with using the Terminal you should say so and I can give more details. But assuming you're OK with typing in commands to theTerminal this is what I would try:
        ls -l /Volumes/Macintosh HD/Users
and you should see something like the following (my disk name is "Yosemite" so I typed "ls -l /Volumes/Yosemite/Users")
    ML9Book:~ xxxx$ ls -l /Volumes/Yosemite/Users
    total 0
    drwxr-xr-x+  11 Guest      _guest   374 Oct 25 19:23 Guest
    drwxr-xr-x+  33 Jack       staff   1122 Oct 24 10:49 Jack
    drwxrwxrwt   13 root       wheel    442 Dec 27  2013 Shared
    drwxr-xr-x+  38 admin      staff   1292 Oct 25 16:59 admin
    drwxr-xr-x+  15 x13        staff    510 Oct 23 22:41 x13
    drwxr-xr-x+  12 514        staff    408 Oct 23 12:24 x14
So now reboot your mac into normal mode - and you will see the login screen with the two empty boxes.
So the above output tells me that there are 3 users - Jack, x13 and x14 (there is always a Shared user and there might or might not be a Guest user since it depends on how your setup was setup) - and these 3 are the names that I could try and enter into the login screen (in the top or first box). You can try no password, but I don't think you can create accounts without passwords, so this will likely fail. In that case you need to reboot in recovery mode and run the Terminal command again (from the Utilities menu) and do a resetpassword command. Another window will pop up and from there you select the Volume (in my case I selected the Yosemite volume - in your case you would select the "Macintosh HD" if that is what your volume name is). Then select the user account you want to reset the password from the drop-down list of user accounts (it will show you the long and short names, and the short name is what was in the listing above from the "ls -l" command), then enter the new password in the indicated box, and then enter it again in the next box, to make sure you didn't make a typo, and enter a password hint in the last box (optional). Then click the "Save" button and you will see another dialog box pop up telling you that the password was changed but not the Keychain password (hopefully you remember this one) - click the OK button then reboot back in normal mode (click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and click on Restart).
    Does this help?

  • DLT isn't showing up anymore

My DLT drive won't show up anymore as an option. I know the DVDSP version didn't change but could this be an issue triggered by my upgrade to FCS2?
The only other change I've made since I last used the DLT was adding a sata pci card. Are there any known issues with sata cards and scsi cards not playing nice?
It's a Lacie sata card and an ATTO UL4s scsi card. I went to ATTO today and downloaded a driver but that didn't seem to do anything for me.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi -
Did you get this solved? I use a Quantum DLT 4000 and have a problem. I reinstalled my OS on a new drive but don't have current drivers for the card and drive.
Do you know if I need drivers for both or just one?
    Thanks
    Dave

  • My iCloud account isn't showing on my mac

First - I can't access my iCloud on my computer, no one's helped, though I've been asking everywhere. I can't find it anywhere, not in Finder, nor even in spotlight. This happened before Sandy, last June!
Second - I have 2 "accounts" w/ same E-mail addy & slightly different names, because the first one didn't seem to go through. So when I went back in, I had to put a 1 after my name, because my E-mail addy already had an account - but I couldn't access it either! I know it's "free" but how does one find it on the computer, or do I have to go somewhere on line to get to it? Should I have bookmarked it in Safari? Is there a "FAQ" or some "how to" manual?
Third - Did I read it right? That in order to save docs from my pages, I have to buy a new one (though I have Lion & pages 9), or is it that I have to pay to store any of my documents in iCloud. It's supposed to hold 5 GB, much more than I'd need. I am Soooo confused by this! My only reason for getting this is my old mac crashed & I lost some good docs! Though I'm concerned about having anything on the net, as Mocavo seems to be stealing tons of data from various sites. How secure is iCloud from these hackers & thieves?
    Tanks for anyone who can help ; > }

  • Video Camera Option isn't showing up anymore?

I updated my iTunes today, and later synced my iPhone as well.
Now, I don't have the option to switch from camera to video camera.
    How can I fix this?
it's frustrating, really since I use the video camera a lot more.

    Do you have a 3GS?
If not, I would suggest downloading the application you were using for video.
If you are, I would suggest restoring the iPhone.

  • I can't find the apple tv on my television.  No matter which input I use it isn't showing up anymore.  What is going on?

It worked fine out of the box and on occasion it comes up after I mess with the inputs enough, but I can't figure out what is bringing it up and why it doesn't just come up on one particular input.  Help!

Assuming you are cycling through the inputs correctly with your remote, I'm not sure there is anything you can be doing wrong.
You don't say so but are you going through any other devices with HDMI, say a receiver or a switch.
You are aware that the Apple TV may not allow itself to be switched on unless your TV is set to the correct source. So you need to determine which output the Apple TV is using, you can do this by noting it when you see it working or looking at the markings on the TV where you plugged the Apple TV in. Use your remote to cycle to that input source and then push the menu button on the Apple TV to turn it on.

  • How can I delete a gmail account from showing up automatically when I sign into google?

My husband checked his gmail on my iphone4.
I am not sure what he did, but when I go to google to sign in to check one of my gmail accounts his is showing up with his password already filled in.
How can I get this off of my iphone.
I do not have the the app for the email. It says to add the app or go to the mobile site and that is what I do.
I go thru safari, go to google, go to sign in and his info is there.
In order for me to get to my gmail account I have to delete his information then key in my information.
I can then sign into mine and then when I am done I sign out.
It will even give me the to option to manage my account and I "remove" his but it shows back up next time I go sign in again.
Please help me get this off of my iphone 4.
I have an email set up under settings on my phone so I know it is not that.

Go to Settings > Safari > Passwords + Autofill > Saved Passwords and see if the Google account is listed there. Delete it if it is.

  • Unable to add GMail account... at all

    Hello,
I had 2007 iMac for years that worked flawlessly, had it upgraded to Mavericks recently, no problems - had my GMail set up which was pulling down all messages without an issue.
Recently purchased new 2013 iMac with Mavericks. Used Migration Assistant to move everything from old iMac to new. Today I have discovered that my GMail account is not showing in Mail. If I go to System Preferences->Internet Accounts, GMail is there, and the Mail is checked off.... however, there is no mailbox in Mail. I have tried to delete GMail settings and re-add them again, with no avail.
If I open Mail, go to Preferences and click on "Accounts" tab, GMail is not listed there... my other email accounts are, but not GMail.
Any ideas? I am at the end of my wits. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yes, I have installed the Apple Mail GMail Patch for Mavericks.

    Thanks for the help.
I've done as you've suggested and so far it seems to be working.  It's been about 30 hours now, I've drained the battery all they way down once, and when I get home this evening I'll try shutting down and switching to my backup battery just to double check that that works.  Otherwise, it certainly seems as if it's a profile issue.
So, if that is the case, is it going to be possible to get my contact information that was stored on my old profile?  I don't really use the calendar too much, so that's not a huge issue, but I would also like to get my paid apps back too if possible, or some sort of credit so I can buy them again.
    Thanks again for the help,
    Ryan
Edit: I just swapped out batteries and as expected, everything still works so does look like the profile.

  • Setting up outgoing gmail account

Help - my outgoing gmail account isn't working.  I have played with it to figure it out and now it is a mess.  I need help resetting it.
I need to know what should be in the following fields:
Description:  smtp.gmail.com - Is this correct?
    Server Name
    In Use by Account
Then below that, what should be in the field called User Name
What port should I be using?
    Should SSL be checked?

Still frustrated. I notice that this problem of not being able to send out email from my iPhone seems to be tied to my Mail Groups. Even when I try to send out an email from my iphone via my yahoo account, it doesn't go if I send it to one of my groups (such as friends or family or work). When I try to end it our through my yahoo account I get this error:
    Cannot Send Mail
The connection to the outgoing server "(null)" failed.
These groups I have set up through my Address Book work fine through my iMac when I use Mail.

  • I am trying to install an app.  When I click install, my old gmail account  shows and asks for my password etc but I have a new gmail account that is associated with my apple id.  How can I get it to default to the new gmail?

I am trying to install an app in my iphone.  When I click Install, my old gmail account comes up for verification and it asks for my password etc.  I dont use this account anymore and have a new gmail account that is associated with my apple account.  How can I get the new gmail to default when I am trying to install apps?

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

  • In FF5, my 2 Gmail accounts log off randomly, then both tabs show same gmail 'name' asking to log back in, instead of 1 gmail name in 1 tab & the other gmail name in 2nd tab, as were originally logged in! Help, please..

New Acer desktop, loaded FF5 yesterday. I keep personal & professional Gmail both open at same time (worked fine in earlier FF versions). Today, both Gmails log themselves off at random & ask for log-in. But then both tabs either show personal Gmail name or show profl Gmail name ! Also signs me out of Google Reader & Calendar (both logged in w/ personal Gmail account), then gives prof Gmail name to sign back in (which won't work, of course). HELP!

instead of adding more to the already long post, I add via replying to myself:
writing about the issue made some things more clear, so I looked and found this:
    http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/201 … 00474.html
    which looks like my issue.
I went and tried - and a variation of it works.
    1.) I log out
2.) GDM gets restarted - inittab method
it gets restarted at VT8 - it was at VT7
3.) I go to another VT - like VT1 - and log in as root
4.) I find the pid of consolekit with:
    ps aux | grep console
    and kill it
    kill -9 <PID>
5.) I restart GDM - which will be at VT7 now, as it should
and then go back to VT1, because I'll be at the GDM-login screen at VT7 now...
6.) I find and kill consolekit _again_
7.) I can now switch to VT7 with GDM running and log in as it should be
console-kit-daemon will be started _again_ automatically
It seems it gets re-started at the wrong place - or with the wrong options
I always see it running like:
    root 6439 0.0 0.3 17432 2768 ? Sl 17:18 0:00 /usr/sbin/console-kit-daemon --no-daemon
Maybe it is the "--no-daemon" option? Or that it should not be started by GDM but only afterwards, by the Gnome-session?
    ...or something else...
It is not a solution really, since all this takes as much time as restarting the whole system, but without all the typing and killing and switching back and forth to consoles...but it works.
What is happening here? Is this normal? Where could my misconfiguration be?
    Cheers

  • How can I use iCloud to receive emails from my GMail account and when I reply, the reply email shows the email in which it was sent to, not the @iCloud address?

I have my GMail account forwarding my emails to my @iCloud.com account which I like, but when I reply, it shows my address as @iCloud.com instead of the email address that was originally addressed to. Anyway to have iCloud reply to emails using the email address in the original email?

You can't use iCloud's outgoing server to send with anything other than the iCloud address as the 'From' address. On your Mac you can set Mail to use the GMail outgoing server with your iCloud account (but then you can just access your GMail there anyway, so there's little point). On the iCloud website you can't do this; there is no way of using your Gmail address.
