If that's not a real email, you need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

Correct. When you update via iTunes all synced media that is not in your iTunes library will be lost.

This issue does not have anything to do with AirPort networking. You may find that you will get better assistance if you repost it in the iTunes area.
However, in the mean time, what is the make & model of both your "old" and "new" computers? Was both the iTunes Library and Media Folder located on that old computer? Do you use iTunes Match?

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.

I have bought a new laptop and transferred thru home sharing my iTunes. About 1000 songs failed to copy as my new computer said t wasn't authorised. I did authorise the computer and it was 3 of the 5 I'm allowed through Apple. Anybody got a solution plz.

I've just bought a new laptop and through home share tried to transfer my iTunes library. The new laptop is authored and is 3 of the 5 allowed. About 1000 songs came up as 'computer not authorised', any ideas/solutions/or similar probs.

Done that and computer is authorised. I click on play on one of the songs that transferred over annotated a 'not authorised to play' and when I click to play I get the 'not authorised' error message, go to authorise the computer and get the message 'already authorised', but still can't play the track. Ahhhhhhhhh!

option discovered in preferences. Really this and any feature that moves deletes or edits a users data should as far as possible be OFF BY DEFAULT. It shouldn't by default and without the users specific say do this dangerous and unnecessary thing without even letting the user know what it's doing!!! And then cause me a few hours (as i'm new to mac) searching for the option so as to switch it off. If i hadn't noticed the status cage declaring that it was copying files then i might never have twigged that this insane thing was occurring. And if i hadn't of noticed i would have been left maintaining the contents of the folder i copied the files to, the folder which as far as i was informed and so believed was also the location of the music files i was playing. How does Apple justify this 'genius' piece of software non-design? Surely it will hurt no one if this was off by default for new users - overall at least i dare say it would cause a lot less distress in the future for the unsuspecting public at large. I want so set up itunes on my laptop and make sure that I get all of my old music and any music shared from my sons' itunes accounts. Do I have to set up itunes on my new laptop first and then use the same logins? Really concerned about losing any music, etc.

These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

I don't see anything in Help that shows when you already have transfered all the files over. Why would it want to erase and sync when I already have all the music folder copied over? I didn't have an issue when I had another technician copy from one laptop to another. Home sharing is also on but not being recognized.

I suspect you only migrated the media folder instead of the complete working library. Either review the transfer process and copy over the entire iTunes folder from your old profile's music folder or see Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

My old computer with my iTunes library on along with my iPod was destroyed in a fire. I have since got a new laptop and iPod plus started a new library with a new email address. How do I get the purchased tracks from my old library onto my new one?

Obviously I spent a lot of money on my old computer and on tracks for the iTunes library plus iPod and I don't wish to have to buy all those tracks again - though I had no choice but to buy a new laptop and iPod.

It looks as though i would be in situation where i have both accounts on the same computer but need a seperate ipod for each but i cant afford to but another ipod so i am letting things be as they are. I now back-up all my stuff in my current itunes library to an external driver so if the laptop breaks down i at least have saved the music to install on a new laptop or netbook. I would sign up for the icloud to save my music on that but as i understand it the cloud will only hold itune purchased tracks and those imported from cds and not any mp3 tracks purchased from another online retailer.

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
