My HP LaserJet CM1415fnw Printer keeps rebooting when connected to my ethernet router.

I bought my HP Laserjet CM1415fnw Color printer in 2013 (don't remember the exact date). The CM1415fnw printer is plugged into its own AC power outlet and has been connected to a NETGEAR Nighthawk router for the past 2 years. My network and computers have not changed in the past 3 years. About a month ago, July of 2015, the printer started rebooter itself about every few minutes. These are the things that I have tried: 1. I turned off the printer for several minutes via the power off switch located on the side of the printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.2. I turned off the printer for over night via the power off switch located on the side of the printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.3. I unplugged the printer from the AC power outlet for several minutes and over night. printer. This failed to solve my reboot issue.4. I turned off the printer setting "WS-Discovery" with no success. It continued to reboot.5. I turned off the printer and Unplugged the ethernet cable and phone line cable from the printer. I then turned it on. Itstayed on for hours without rebooting. I plugged the ethernet cable and it continued to stay on without rebooting for over an hour. I then plugged in the phone line cable and within a minute the printer starting rebooting again. I unplugged the phone line cable again and the printer stopped rebooting. My wife and I have been printing happily. Problem solve! NO! This past week, on July 27 2015, the printer started rebooting again. I went through the same steps above except this time whenever plugging in the ethernet cable, within and few minutes the printer would start its rebooting. Sometime between reboots it would stay up long enough to print a job. Other things that I have tried: 1. I connected the printer directly to my workstation computer via the USB port and plugged in the phone line cable. This work great for hours. I could print jobs. No rebooting. It is just not the solution the I need. I need a network printer.2. I connected the printer directly to my laptop ethernet port with phone cable connected. This worked also. So while in this configuration I took the opportunity to upgrade the Firmware from date 20120216 to 20140616. 3. I reconnected the printer to my network router and the printer started rebooting again within a few minutes. I did notice that in between reboots, with the phone line cable plugged in, anytime a phone call came in the printer immediately rebooted. I have mulitple home devices that rely on network connectivity to this printer. SO, right now this printer is offline toeveryone. I need to get this problem resolved ASAP. I have a temporary work around item #6. But, I need a real solution. Can someone please help. My Configuration: HP LaserJet CM1415fnwFormatter Number: QD51YOP

I wish to thank you davidzuts and muj851 for your quick response and help in this issue. I will give you the short story of my troubleshooting efforts and solution. I was able to isolate the printer reboot to my wife's computer located in another part of the house. Anytime that I connected her computer the the network the printer would start rebooting within a minute. I then uninstalled all HP printer software. I then reconnected her computer to the network. Within a minute the printer went into reboot mode. After a few install and uninstall of the HP printer soffware and drivers I took notice that the printer device for my printer still appeared after uninstalling the software and drivers. I clicked on the printer device and manually removed it. After rebooting the computer within a few minutes there was a system message stating that the device driver was being install. Reinstalling the Printer software and drivers create a new instance of the CM1415FNW Printer. Uninstalling removed all but the orignal printer device. Connected the network caused the printer to reboot. So, looked at the printer queue and found that there was a document in the queue waiting to be printed. The status of the printer showed that the document was ready for print but then the printer would reboot and the status would appear as ERROR Printing. I cancelled the print job and the document in the queue was removed. I then removed the Printer Device. When I connected my wife's computer to the network the printer did not reboot. I have reinstatlled HP Printer software for the CM1415FNW printer and everything has been working fine for the past two days. A conversation with my wife uncovered that the day all of the issues with the printer started she attempted to print a Barnes and Nobles discount coupon. Something with the printer formating codes or the B&N coupon was causing the printer to reboot. The next time this happens I will know to check the print queue.

Built a new system with the MSI MS-6390LE-L motherboard based on the KM266 chipset and Athlon CPU. It is rebooting when connecting to the internet (installed a SonicBlue Supra PCI modem). Now I read the small print burried in the specs that states: Must use proprietary PCI Modem card with PCTEL solution.
However there is no listing of modems on your site that will work! Does any brand and model PC-Tel chipset modem work, if not then do any CNR modems work?

Can't see printer or shares when connected via Internet Sharing

I recently switched from a 2006 to a 2008 Mac Pro. Rather than do a migration I simply took the hard drives from the old machine and put them in the new one.
I then upgraded to Mountain Lion.
I use Internet Sharing to share my Mac Pro's Ethernet connection via wifi, but the other Macs can't see the Mac Pro's printer or shares when connected in this way. They can access the internet. If I connect a machine via the LAN rather than Internet Sharing, the shares and printer are visible.
This worked fine on Lion on the old machine. Any ideas?

Seems that the issue is something to do with connecting via WPA2. When I set Internet Sharing to use WEP (by option-clicking the security menu), I'm then able to see the network shares and the printer.

This can also happen when you use a Postscript driver but the printer does not support Postscript. According to the Ricoh Australia web site the MP2500 supports PCL standard while Postscript is optional. So it would be safe to assume that you don't have the Postscript kit and that's why you are getting all those pages with Postscript commands.
One thing you can do is remove this printer from Printers & Scanners and add again, this time selecting the Generic PCL Laser printer in the Use menu. Note that this printer is set to 300dpi by default, but you can change the resolution to 600dpi via the printer menu so that you get better looking prints.

Power-Cycle the modem... and then ower-cycle the router...then finally power-cycle your computer.

Depends.
If you go in System Preferences / Network, you will see a list of all the network interfaces your current configuration has. If you click on the gear icon next to the minus sign, the drop menu will offer "Set Service Order...". There you can prioritize the order of use: Ethernet above Wi-Fi and wireless will be ignored if Ethernet is available.
Note that the Wi-Fi card will remain active and associated with an access point nonetheless. It just won't be used for communications by the OS and apps.

Is the second Extreme configured to "extend" the network created by the first? If so its position must be such that it has a strong wireless connection to the first Extreme. If it is at the limits of the first one's wireless range its connection will be tenuous. Place them closer together and determine if that makes a difference.

Mac keeps rebooting when it reaches the grey window with the apple

My Mac G5 keeps rebooting, it cannot reach the desktop.
Yesturday, I changed the read write options on the macintosh hd (I put everyone on read write so others on the network could get access to all the files, I pressed on the wheel on the botton and "replicated" to all files in the hd).
When I restarted the system, it hasn't booted to the desktop since.
Is this what caused the problem???
How can I fix this?
I tried the utility from the install dvd to repair the rights, but it does not work, if I scan again, I get a very long list containing mainly files from the library folder.

doing this completely killed your system. you now have no choice but to do an archive and install.

you should NEVER use "apply to enclosed items" button on ANY system created folders or on the startup drive. that includes btw such things as your Desktop folder, your home folder etc.
and you shouldn't even try having your whole drive read+write by everybody. that's very bad from security point of view and other users have no business having read+write access to your entire system. make a folder shared and give them read+write access to that.

Two DVRs keep rebooting when doing guide searches

I have two 7232 DVRs that are side by side. When trying to do a guide search, the search will slow down and many times the DVR will reboot. It even appears to be slow when hitting the search or DVR buttons. This has been going on for about a month. Both DVRs have 2TB external drives. The hardware configuration has been the same since Verizon allowed the attachment of external drives. Verizon technical support recommendation is to replace both DVRs. This makes no sense, since both DVRs are experiencing the same symptoms. Does anyone have any suggestions what may be causing these issues. Also, there will be a big data lose if the DVRs have to be replaced.

I'm pretty sure I have the same problem as you but I only have 1 DVR with a 1 TB external WD external drive. I also do not think there is a hardware issue with my DVR as verizon customer support told me yesterday. I live on long island and noticed that every time I turn on the STB, the channel defaults to channel 1. It did not do this until recently which, I think coinsides with this rebooting problem that you described. If you disconnect the external drive, I bet you will not have this problem with the reboot when perfroming searches. It seems to me to be a bug with there latest software update but not sure. Perhapps I can have verizon customer support reinstall an earlier SW version and see if the problem goes away.

Printer keeps dropping wireless connection after working for a while

My computer stops being able to communicate with the printer wirelessly even thought the printer says it is connected to the network and both the printer and computer are on the same network. What happens is I connect the printer to the network and print something from my computer. Then, after a short while, half an hour maybe, when the printer shows it is connected to the network, I try to print but my computer can't find the printer. The message say the printer cannot be found. If I go to the printer, and reconnect with the wireless connection wizard I can print. But after a short time, I won't be able to print again and have to do the wireless connection wizard again. Wireless direct is off. Don't know if that matters.

These settings are for setting up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, keep wireless devices better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.
Set a static IP in the printer (click here) outside the DHCP range of the router (check your manual). This is for Linksys routers but can be used for all routers. Verify your DHCP range and change this first if needed. More Wireless Printing help is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
Verify in the printer that 'Auto Off/Sleep' is disabled. Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) by going to the printers IP address in your browsers address bar, click Settings Tab/Auto Off. Or use the Printer Assistant, Printer Home Page (EWS). Also check your Printers Properties.
If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, turn off IPv6 in the printer.
If needed and you assigned a static IP address, try using 8.8.8.8 for the Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 at the Alternate DNS server.
In the router: (Refer to your router manual for information)
Use a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
Set router to 20Mhz only, or 145Mbps depending on router.
Always use WPA2-AES (Personal) encryption, but you can try ‘mixed’ mode.
Disable WPS and never use it and disable UPnP for the routers security. Nobody can hack your system now and helps with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, search the web).
If you have a dual band router (2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz bands), make sure the SSID’s are NOT the same, they must be different for all bands, even for any Guest networks.
SSID broadcast must be enabled.
Save all settings. Power off both, wait 2 mins. Power on router wait 2 mins.
Power on printer and verify it reconnects to router.
Windows 7/8/8.1 Is Network Discovery on or off?
Control Panel/Network and Internet/Network and Sharing Center/Advanced sharing settings.
Under Home or Work (current profile) / Network Discovery.
Select "Turn on network discovery" and save changes.

Can hp laserjet cm1415fnw be wireless and lan connected at same time?

I understand that on the printer settings it only allows you to be either wireless or hard wired to the LAN. is there possibly a way for both settings to be on simultaneously? I have a user here that's on an iPad and connects to our network via wireless, but at the same time has a virtual pc session from his remote office and the printer needs to be hard wired to the lan to print from the vpc session. This is a tricky one that i can't wrap my head around. Thanks.

Hi sorry for the late reply, yes the address is in the same subnet as what the ssid is broadcasting at. the issue i'm having now is that the printer is not broadcasting itself through airprint. I can't see the printer show up when i want to print a web page. I've tested on an ipad and an iphone. i've gone through all the settings and everything checks out fine. The printer is connecting to the correct network which is the same wireless ssid the ipad and iphone is connected to wirelessly. Just seems the printer isn't broadcasting itself. Any suggestions as to what I may be missing here? Thanks.

I have a Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL router #BEFSR41 to which I have two computers, one printer, and one Linksys PAP2T-NA connected. I purchased a SPA2102-NA because I need two additional phone lines, but I had no more router ports. I was told that the SPA2102 could be connected to the router and my PAP2T could then connect to the LAN port of the SPA2102. Well I tried connecting the SPA2102 to my router and then connecting my PAP2T to it, but I am not able to access the configuration/setup menu for the SPA2102. How can I configure this SPA2102 when I can't even get to the setup menu?
Please help, I have spent the entire day searching the Linksys knowledgebase, etc. and I can't figure out what I need to do to access this unit. By the way, when I go into the router configuration menu and list the DHCP Active IP Table, the first item is SipuraSPA with an IP address of 192.168.1.100 (my PAP2T is 192.168.1.104). I have tried accessing the SPA2102 by typing 192.168.1.100 but I just get a browser error "Page not found". So the SPA2102 is showing up as connected to my router, but I have no way to connect to it because it has been given a dynamic IP address by the router. How can I solve this problem?

Thanks HW for your reply. After further consideration, I've decided that my best solution is to add an 8-port switch to increase my network capacity and therefore I can replace the SPA2102 with a simpler PAP2T, giving me two PAP2T's. I'm afraid I was looking at the SPA2102 as a stop-gap measure in providing an additional LAN port, but that would leave me without any spare LAN ports for the future. In the end, the small cost of an 8-port switch will give me future capacity and allow me to use the less costly PAP2T while gaining what I needed in the first place. Sorry for taking up your time.

The iTune Remote App has stopped finding my iTunes library when connected to wifi from my main router, but works fine when connected via second wifi router on the same network (different SSID)

I'm running iTunes Remote App from a couple of iPhone 5's and a first generation iPod Touch. iTunes is running on a PC - Windows 7. My home network runs two Wifi Routers, each with a different SSID. I've had no problems with the Remote app running this set up for the last 8 months but recently the App can only find my iTunes library when the iPhone/iPod is connected via one specific router, when connected to the network via the other router, no iTunes library is found. I'm also running an Apple TV and it's the same as the iTunes Library, only visible via the one SSID.
Everything else seems to work fine when connected via either router, eg Internet on the iPhones (definitely via wifi)
I've tried renewing the lease on the iPhone wifi connection, restarting everything.....several times.....
It used to work fine, this only seems to have been a problem in recent weeks
Any help or advice would be much appreciated

It turned out to be the firewall settings on our router. Her machine was sending traffic that our router interpreted as a DoS attack and blacklisted her Airport's MAC address. That's why it would work fine if she switched to Ethernet.
