I just bought a new laptop with Windoows 7 & my Iphone 3Gs wont sync with it
I have spen hours on the phone with apple care & even an hour in the apple store with a genius anyone else have this problem & fix it?

i have the same problem itunes sees the iphone and when i click sync it starts prepareing the sync and then finish's seconds later however iv just done a restore on my phone to try and fix the problem and it didnt work and now there is nothing on it apart from contacts and the preinstalled apps and now i cant get anything over from my laptop to my phone and im using iTunes 10 x64

You should copy everything from your old computer to your new one, then sync.
The iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

I have the same problem as the emails go to my iCloud account that I cannot access!!! I cannot answer the security questions as someone else must have set up my iCloud account. Nothing seems to work. It would be great if someone has some ideas as what can be done to recover the situation?

Be sure you download the correct version for your PC. If you have 32bit OS or 64bit OS. To find this out, right click on Computer under start and select properties. Near the middle it should say 32bit or 64bit. If you know you have the correct software. Open up the control panel and go to sync settings. Right click on the partnership you have setup and select delete. On your device go to Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on Windows PC and select Delete. Then once both are done resetup your partnership. But this time uncheck everything. Then once it is done syncing. Go to Mobile device settings and change content sync settings and select Contact. Click save and let it sync. Do the same for calendar, tasks, and notes but leave the last item checked. So when Contacts are done syncing you go and check Calendar and leave Contacts

My ipod will not sync with my laptop. I have had previous Ipods in the past, but since then I have grown out of most of my music. Also about a year and a half ago I got a new laptop. I used the same Itunes name, but now on my new Ipod it has all of my old music and it refuses to download any of my new music. When I am using home sharing though, it says that I can turn on my "Library" but that my "music" is what is perminately on the computer. This only works though if I am near my laptop. When I try to transfer my library onto my ipod it wont let me. My music on my ipod is completely different than my normal itunes library on my computer and I have no idea how to transfer it. When I plug it in, it wont sync at all, or show that there is any device even plugged in. I am frustrated and tired of not having any of my music, so someone please help!!!

You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:

Phone wont sync with i tunes

My `iphone 3G S is acting dead weird (well weirder than usual, its been crashing and not connecting calls for months now). Its losing its network signal for 02 and 3G all day long, not allowing me to make any calls or send/receive emails. It also wont let me sync with my i tunes account as it wont let I tunes launch. I have tried reloading the sim card, restarting the phone (sometimes this starts back up with the i tunes logo and a wire image indicating I need to sync just like when you first get the phone out of its box). Then just out of the blue it will start working again in terms of network connection but still wont allow me to sync. Any fellow long term sufferers of i-phone weirdness out there who can shed any light - many thanks simon

Thanks for the response, much appreciated. Problem with trying to follow your advice is that I would have to be able to launch I tunes when connected to my iphone, as it stands i tunes wont launch, it keeps coming up with a message saying 'The AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly'
this problem along with the network connection problem has only all started today for some reason

I think it means you need to update your iTunes, the newsest version is 11.0

Help needed to update a 4th gen ipod touch running version 4.3.5 (8L1) to the latest 6.0 version. When I connect and try to update i keep getting a box which states that a connection error occured and I cannot update.
I have been given a new laptop for xmas which runs on windows 8, and the new itunes version (which is in itself a hurdle as I am a technophobe!) and this is all becoming a bit fustrating.
I have connected, updated and synced my iphone successfully, but just hit a brick wall on the ipod. (which incidentally maybe where this laptop will end up!!)
Help if you can, but in laymans terms.......

Let me get this straight...... I have paid for content on itunes, bought the apple devicds in order to play said content, now I have to subscribe $25 for the privilage of playing MY library content on MY other devices. Which wasn't such an issue to do before the new and improved itunes version!!
Have I got that correct. I think I cannot associate my other iOS devices with my library because I am unwilling to pay further through the nose!!!??? or am I missing something?
