My i tunes wont allow my ipod to connect.It tells me that it cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started. how do i correct this
itunes used to accept and sync ipod touch but all of a sudden it gives me a box that says it cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started.what is the mobile device service and how do i start it?

On my registered iTunes computer, the following message appears every time one plugs in a device and refuses to load said device to be synced: "This iPod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started". Each device has been registered onto this account and this computer, and all have worked finely in the past. I am so confused as to why now seemingly without reason, none of our apple devices (one iPod, two iPhones) are allowed to have music and other material downloaded onto them. Also, as a side note, they still are charged by plugging them into the computer, however they do not even show up on the left-hand sidebar in iTunes.

Ipod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device Service is not Started
Just received my Ipod touch this morning, PC recognises device and says that is is ready to use (however then it is not recognised in my computer) and upon start up of i tunes the following message is displayed.
+This ipod cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device Service is not started.+
I have the latest version of itunes and windows SP2.

After I had Best Buy restore my ipod to factory settings, went to itunes from computer to restore my music. Getting the error message " Ipod cannot be used because the apple mobile device service is not started". Ipod is connected to Wi-Fi, connecting to itunes o.k. on ipod
