My iphone 4 broke down when I closed an app. There are pink and green stripes on the screen and buttons aren't working. What to do?

Hi, I am the user from HK, my iphone broke down today after only 7 days used. My signal showed only " No Service " this afternoon and my carrier " 3 " thought that the sim card holder or contact point of the phone damaged.
Some questions 1) why the quality control of 3g iphone this time not so good, I saw many people in the service center and 90% of them were brought their iphone 3g,
2) I don't know AT & T in US replace their clients new iphone or just service unit? As my 7 days iphone broke down, mine was replaced a service unit which means the iphone was not brand new but function is ok.
3) For the years of using apple products, this time experience make me feel disappointed , I don't know its because the bad serviced carrier " 3" in HK or apple this time to push 3g iphone too rush and lead to poor quality control. By the way, we are paying the highest telephone charges and I think we should deserve better service.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

You may have a faulty USB cable. Try another.
Make sure you are following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the iPhone.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.

you could try restoring from the backup again. It's possible that your restore got interrupted, so it would be a good idea to attempt another restore. if that doesn't fix it, like if you restore and see that all of your settings were the same as they were on the old device, but the pictures still aren't there, it's possible the photos were never stored in the backup in the first place

My PC broke down. So my old Itunes (mp3s) and what not are now only on my phone and not my pc. Im affraid that if i try to upgrade my phone i will losse everything on the phone, music,photos and all that.
Is there some way to "restore" itunes from the phone?
I really want to upgrade my ios but im affraid to loose everything (loosing the music is not the end of the world, but everything else like contacts, photos and that stuff i really dont want to loose.)
Any help or tricks to avoid this would be really great.

What you need to do is access your backup of your computer and restore it on a new computer.
Other than that you can buy a program for the computer that copies files from the iPhone to your computer. Use google to search.

IPhone broker, how can i recover?

Hello guys. I've got an issue. My iPhone fell down, and know the screen glass is broker, and I can't view ANYTHING but black. At the beggining I tried to make a backup with iTunes, but iTunes wasn't finding any devices, like I din'd inser the USB cable. After I wile, I don't know how, iTunes fund it, but I am unable to make a backup. I click "buckup" and nothing happens. I tried with an other software (Tenoshare) and it scannes only the name of the device and a code, but then it says that the scan failed.
The issue that concernes me is that I have very important files and messages in that mobile that I absolutely NEED to recover, and I'm wondering: in the Genius bar, could they recover my material? I mean, even phisically the cip or something? I just can't loose anything.

Backup your data before you have an accident, not after. What if you'd lost your phone entirely, or it had been stolen? How would you plan to recover these 'very important files & messages'?

Unless you subscribe to iTunes Match , Apple does not keep a backup of your iTunes library. Even then it is not the library as it exists on your computer, but some version of the media, and only media files, not playlists. Even then not all media are definitely available since anything removed from the iTunes Store since you purchased it is not available for re-download.

In your case it sounds like you will have to obtain non iTunes purchases from their original source or a backup you may have made at some time in the past.

I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet and now the touchscreen won't work?

I dropped my iPhone 4s down the toilet because I saw a spider on the seat and jumped, causing me to drop it down the loo. I fished it out and dried it off. The phone was on so I tried to turn it off so it didn't fry the inside of it. I held down the power button and the usual "Slide to power off" slider came up. It then stopped and stayed on the homescreen but slowly faded to a plain white screen and wouldn't do anything. I took out my SIM Card and dried it off because I didn't want it getting damaged. Then it turned to a black screen and once again did nothing, so I plugged it into my Macbook and it vibrated, indicating that it was being charged. Also, my iTunes & iPhoto icons started bouncing. The screen was still black so I unplugged it and left it on my bedside drawer to do whatever. About an hour or so later my boyfriend pressed the home button and the screen turned on, but it looked like a cloudy sky. It wouldn't do anything else so again, I left it for about an hour.
I then tried turning the phone on and the Apple logo appeared. The buttons work fine and the home screen with the date & time appeared, but the only thing that wasn't showing up was my screensaver, it is blurred out. I put my SIM Card back in and it says "SIM Faliure" on the screen & at the top where it usually says your network etc. (T-Mobile, 3G and all that) it just says "Invalid SIM" instead. Also, I can't use the touchscreen. I can't swipe up for the options or camera, I can't swipe to turn it off & I can't unlock the phone. I don't have any rice in this house as me & my father are allergic to it so there is no point in buying it.
It's a replacement phone & I've had it for less than three months. What else can I do? Also, there's a strange smell by the power button, but nowhere else on the phone.

I think that we all know the answer to this one.
Unfortunatley the device is concidered damaged by water. Apple can do an out of warranty repair which would cost $199. Generally they would just replace the device in this case for the $199.
The alternative is to Purchase a new device.

3.5 mm jack broke down again.

As predicted I have a problem. I have an IPod touch for about 1.5- 2 years now. During the first 10 months the 3.5 mm jack broke down. And that was within the warranty of 1 year. So I got another one. After about 20 months this one also started having the same problem with the 3.5 mm jack (audio). When I got the second one I asked the seller if I get another year of warranty, but he said no. As far as I know it was a new iPod so I should actually get another year of warranty and apple should fix my iPod..
What do you guys think? I love apple products but this doesn’t sounds fare to me.

The Apple warranty on an iPod replaced under warranty is 90 days or the remainder of the original warranty, which ever is greater.

I agree with Ralph to start with Verizon becuase you certainly don't have insurance with Apple. With Apple all you have is a warranty which will not cover broken glass. So you will be paying at Apple for sure,

My iphone broke and my photos are backed up on icloud, i logged in to my icloud account on my ipad but how do i see the photos saved on it?

My iphone broke, the screen is not working so i can not get into my phone. i have around 800 photos and they were backed up regulary on icloud; i signed into my icloud account on my ipad and backup up to hopefully find that the photos will appear. They haven't! How do i get my photos back?

Updating is not suppose to wipe any media or apps.
It may happen because sometimes things just go wrong.
I would back everything up first.
