My iPhone 4 keeps shutting down :/ lately it's taken 2hrs to come back up. Diagnostics shows panic.plist and I've had my phone barely over a year. Will Apple replace it? As I hear I need to make an appt at the apple store.

My iPhone 4 keeps shutting down. The past 3 days it's taken at least 2hrs to come back on. It constantly has no service and tells me system restore is needed. Under diagnostics it shows panic.plist. I've had my phone a year and 3mths. I hear I need to go to apple to get a replace as this is a software issue. It isn't under warranty. Will they replace it or is it a waste of my time? I recently just got the iOS update and now my phone gets hot to the touch also. Please help. My upgrade isn't until summer of next year but I need a phone that works and will get signal!

Try resetting the phone. Hold the home and power lock button until the Apple logo appears.If that does not work, turn the phone off and take the SIM out and then put it back in.

Wait for advice on repairing a damaged filesystem. Forceshutdown stops processs in mid-stream and leaves some parts not-valid.
Do not proceed until you get that avice.

Hello People,
I need help, Yesterday i booted up my iphone and it crashes like each 5 minutes,
i see a white screen fastly and it crashes and shuts down, then it try's to reboot itself,
So i put it in the computer and updated my os to 4.3.5 (if thats the latest (not 5)).
But now when i plug it into the computer it goes on and off byitself.

iPhone shutting OFF by itself is most often due to faulty battery. You have already done a Restore. Make Genius reservation and take iPhone to Apple Store for quick free battery dianostic testing to confim that it is a battery problem.

Do the basic troubleshooting steps:
Restart:
1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

Since I have downloaded iOS 7 on my iPhone 4, every time I use my phone, it locks up and then completely shuts down & restarts. Is there some kind of bug associated with this upgrade or is it something else? It never acted like this when I had iOS 6.

I had this problem before. I like to disable extra services to speed up my computer and I disabled the Apple Mobile Device service and had to re-enable this.
You can do that by going Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services. Once you have gone to the services window, look for Apple Mobile Device and right-click. Select "Properties". There should be some information about the service as well as the label "Startup Type" with a drop-down menu beside it. If it says "disabled", that is your problem; Change the selection to anything except disabled (Automatic is easier and ensures that you can sync as soon as itunes opens).
If this doesn't work, I would look into your anti-virus' settings. Good Luck!

My iPhone 4 lock/home button is stuck and I'm out of warranty. How much will it cost to fix the button cause I have no other problems. Or will they cover it because people were saying it's a defect?

I was able to pay someone to replace the button completely for much less than what Apple wanted.

I can understand why Apple has a 1 year warranty, but I believe a busted power button constitutes a design flaw and thus is defective (much like the iBook logic board from 2003 we had to sue them over).

IPhone 5 shuts down with the battery at 40%

I'm having issues with my iPhone 5. It regularly shuts down with the battery being far from 0%. When I took it to the apple store, a "genius" said that the battery is fine and restored the phone to the factory settings. I set it up as new without touching the backup (with iOS 8), but the iPhone keeps shutting down with a half charged battery. If anythings, the problem only became worse with iOS 8.1. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix it.
The iPhone is out of the warranty and is not eligible for battery replacement. Another issue I have is that the home button often responds with a delay, but I don't know if it's related to the main problem.

My iPhone 5 has been shutting down when it's at about 45% battery life, no low battery warning, just shuts off. When I try to power it back on, it tells me the battery has drained and I need to connect the charger. After connecting the charger it comes back on, again showing that it's at 40something% battery life. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Well if it is a software issue then I would restore the iphone. Restoring the device SHOULD clear up any issues if it is software related. If that doesn't work I would take it into an apple store. Since its still under warranty, let them take a look at it.
Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but Apple recommends that you drain the battery at least once a month and charge to a full 100%. Keeps the battery calibration correct ive been told. Which yours could be just wack ha because of a software issue. Try the restore.

The iPhone just shut down

my iPhone 3G just shut down after somebody called me. Our conversation was cut off. Then after that it just shut down. I did push the sleep/wake button but nothing show. I turned on and off but nothing happen. I take the sim card out then put it back, but nothing change. It is totally black out on the screen. What should i do now? I really do not know what cause that. I did not drop it or put it on anything wet. Just a normal day with the iPHone. But the phone is abnormal now.

The silence switch flickers when I try to place it on silence. Some times this works but not all the time (very anoying when in a meeting and I think it's on silent!) I'm with Orange so called in the shop. Had to speak with an Apple expert over the phone who told me to log on and do a restore, lost all my photos but that's ok. The phone is still the same.......it's the switch that's not working! I now have to go to my nearest Apple store 50 miles away before I can get a replacement. Does anyone have a customer service email address for Apple please?
