My iphone 4 randomly dials people in my contact list. Any suggestions? It may be people in my Favorites list.

My wife's phone does this, as well as delete apps...it's because she doesn't bother to lock the phone when she puts it in her purse by tapping the sleep/wake button. Not saying this is the case with you, but I've seen this before & that's the reason why.

Did you try resetting?
Do a reset (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears, ignore the Slide to Power Off that appears)

It sounds like you are unable to see your contacts in the phone, but have confirmed they are still at http://www.icloud.com. I would next try these troubleshooting steps from the article named:

If you're using iOS 7, quit and restart the Contacts app on your iOS device:
Press the Home button twice to see preview screens of the apps you have open.
Find the Contacts preview screen and swipe it up and out of preview to quit the application.
Tap the Home button to return to your Home screen.
Wait a minute before reopening the Contacts app.
Turn iCloud Contacts off and back on:
Tap Settings > iCloud.
Turn Contacts off. Choose to delete data only if your data exists at icloud.com/contacts and on one or more of your devices. Otherwise, choose Keep Data.
Wait a few minutes before turning Contacts back on.
Restart your iOS device by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and then swiping the screen when prompted to power off. Then turn your device back on. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

There is a checkbox on the 'info' tab in iTunes that will allow you to overwrite the address book on the phone with the one from the computer on the next sync.

You can send imessages to anyone who is using an Apple device (recent models).It will try to go via wifi but if it can't then it will try to send as an SMS and for that you need cellular capability.
Does your iPad have cellular capability? If not then you can't send to non-Apple devices through iMessage.

Hi, MarkJohn777, and welcome to the Community, What you are receiving are contact requests, or invitations, which arrive looking like instant messages. Skype does not provide for a way not to receive contact invitations, or to "opt out" of receiving contact requests. Thanks for your reply. Unfurtunately is didnt work. I did follow the part with reseting Isync and so on... But it still doent sync my Iphone info to the Icalender. The problem is that if I reset/restore my Iphone
I´ll loose a lot of important appointments and phone numbers. Can I restore it and the use the backup from Itunes - and will this fix the problem?

I want to have a ringtone for people one my contact list and a different tone for people not on my contact list, which for me is always commercial that I do not even want to pick up.

To do this, you would have to assign the ringtone to each contact individually, and then set the default tone to something different under the Sounds menu in Settings.

In my Privacy settings, I have "Only allow people in my Contact list to contact me" checked, but I just recently, within the past week, started getting spam requests from people.
Why? I haven't touched my settings pretty much since I signed up (maybe at the beginning to get things right, but not within the past year and a half).

Uncheck the box > SAVE > Wait 2 minutes > Check the box > SAVE.

HT1296 my calendar is showing all the birthdays listed against people in my contacts list a day earlier than they should. Why?

Since receiving a new iPhone 4S to replace a previous phone, my calendar is now showing all birthdays as being a day before the date they are listedon within my contacts list. Any ideas why and how to rectify?

I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work. So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

How do I alphabetically sort people in a contact list?

I created a contact list of about 50 people. Their information was added at different times. It appears that every-time I added a contact it went to the end of the list. Is there a way to take the completed list and arrange it alphabetically by last name?

Address Book -> Preferences -> General, use the Sort By pop-up.

Receiving E-mail From People On My Contact List Erroneously

I have started receiving e-mail from some of the people on my Verizon contact list. For example, if Jack Jones is someone I correspond with, I will receive a message that looks like it is from him, but when I look at the sender details, it is from some e-mail account that we never heard of. In the message body, is a URL to click on. The subject is sometimes blank or sometimes it says: "For MyName". This has happened with several different of my contacts about once or twice a week with different URL's to click on. What can I do to stop this? Thanks for any assistance.

caught a computer viurs
had their email account stolen
had someone steal the email contatcts and are being email spoofed
Both you and your contacts should consider doing
change your email account password immediately
scan your computer with good antivirus software
You may want to change your email name

What you can do is, go to Settings-> facebook-> Your name-> delete account-> delete-> remove facebook info.
This will remove all the fb contacts. but before you again sign your fb account into your iOS, have the option of contacts set to off.
