My Ipod is messed up. Every time i click the top button it just flashes the apple sign for like 5 seconds and then goes off and just continues to do that. Can someone please help?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I'm having the same problem.  I'm using a new shuffle usb cable in my 2nd generation shuffle and nothing shows up on computer.  I'm wondering if the dock for the second gen is different than the new usb cable direct into the 2nd gen shuffle. I don't have a dock for it.  Before I buy one on ebay I hope someone can assist.

Shut down your computer and disconnect all peripherals (keyboard & mouse if pertinent) from your computer.  Now reboot.
If the Mac starts up normally, shut it down again and then plug in one of the peripherals (keyboard or mouse first) and start up your computer again.  If it does so successfully repeat the process, adding one peripheral at a time until your Mac acts up.  At that point, disconnect the last peripheral you added, reboot your Mac and search the peripheral vendor's website for an updated driver.
If no driver exists or the problem remain after installing the new driver, try a different cable or a different port on your Mac.
If none of the above works, again disconnect all peripherals from your Mac, hold down the "shift" key to start up in "Safe Boot" mode.
If the Mac starts up correctly, restart without pressing the "shift" key.
If your computer still does not start up properly, shut it down and restart it while holding down the Apple+Option-P-R keys; keep holding "all 4 keys" down until you hear the startup sound "twice."
If none of the above work Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
    Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
    Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
    Click Repair Disk.
(If Disk Utility cannot repair, you will need a stronger utility (3rd party) - Diskwarrior or Techtool PRO)
    Restart your computer when done.
Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751 and restart your computer.
    Remove any 3rd party ram.
Reinstall Leopard - This will install a "fresh" copy Leopard without archiving old system files but leaves the rest of your files in place.
If you still want to restore your computer to factory level...
Start up from your install disc, go to Disk Utility and select the disk and click erase - to securely erase data click Security Options and Erase Free Space which will entirely wipe your disk, overwriting it with zeros so that no data is recoverable.
To restore read the instructions in the Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard - Installation and Setup Guide  PDF

  • Console (X-Fi) freezes EVERY time I click on EQ button (All 3 modes) -- HE

    Hi,
I have the X-Fi Elite Pro and just recently developed this problem... my console freezes EVERY time I click on EQ button... I mean I have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill it with task manager. This happens in all three modes. After I kill the process,?I can re-open the console and use it as normal -- As long as I NEVER CLICK on the EQ button... This happens regardless of the mode I am in. If I wait long enough, I will get an error message that says "Out of memory". The title of that error window varies... I wrote down a couple of them... once?the title?said?"modeEnTM" and last time it was "CTTheme."?Anyone else ever have this problem.. again... it just cropped up all of a sudden -- but it won't go away. I did uninstall all Creative software and drivers, deleted all Creative folders, deleted the registry entries?and reinstalled everything... but no change. Hope someone knows... -- ScribbleMeat

Perhaps you have something else which you installed that is conflicting with the Creative software. Try using Sysinternals autoruns or msconfig to disable all unnecassary start-up items and then see if EQ button still causes any crashes. Do you see any CPU usage spikes on any other processes whilst the Out of memory crash appears?Have you checked to see if your Virtual memory is set correctly? you can check this in Control Panel, System Properties > Advanced Tab > Performance SettingsMake sure you have a paging file set to a custom size of around 2046 or leave it on System managed size. You might want to also try out a program called CCleaner, this can clean up your temp files and registry without damaging your OS or program installations. If none of this helps, try uninstalling the complete driver set again and then using Driver Cleaner to make sure there is no trace left afterwards or go through the hard disk manually (Program Files, Documents and Settings) and remove all trace of Creative related software and configuration files.

  • Kopete crashes every time I click send message button

Running KDE  4.12.0 Kopete Version 1.6.0, latest arch linux.
Happens every time I try to send an IM (both on gtalk and xmpp).
Anyone else having the same issue?

Bug pending fix upstream, resolution found just not applied upstream until the 9th, see https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=328999
I downloaded the kopete build files from Arch packages site, I downloaded kopete src the pkgbuild was using, extracted/applied the patch to the one file under the kopete archive, recompressed, redid the PKGBUILD to have it pull from the local kopete compressed file, updated the sha1sum, and makepkg'd, works perfect/OTR fixed and enabled without crashes.
    - Download http://kde.mirrorcatalogs.com/stable/4. … 2.0.tar.xz
    - Extract & Use http://bugsfiles.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=84367 to go to that file & make the change in the code (or edit pkgbuild to apply patch file)
    - Save the file, recompress the entire kopete folder back into the original archive.
    - Use sha1sum <file> to get the sha1 hash of the kopete (now patched) source files, place that new sha1sum into the PKGBUILD
    - Edit the pkgbuild to just use the kopete-4.12.0.tar.xz file (locally) instead of by downloading (unless you wrote the patch into the pkgbuild as above)
    - Save the PKGBUILD, makepkg -s and then pacman -U <file it outputs>
The one I compiled I set the pkgrel to 2, that may or may not interfere depending if Arch releases a 4.12.0-2 upgrade for kopete, if so I'll just reinstall easy enough - if you have no idea how to do the above you can shoot me a message and I'll send you the kdenetwork-kopete-4.12.0-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz I compiled which has the fix (64bit only) HOWEVER no guarantees/use at your own risk/all that jazz - also note of the pkgrel being set to 2 as mentioned above, however I do not think that will be much an issue as the actual fix is going to be placed upstream in 4.12.1 (9th) so chances are that will be the next upgrade Arch pulls downstream with the fix.

  • My ipod shows a blue screen and then turns off and wont turn back on. What should I do?

I turned on my iPod touch today and it turned on as usual. I unlocked it and went to play a game. I got tired of the game after about 5 mins so I went to the home screen. I swiped to the previous screen and it showed a blue screen after about 3 seconds. I was sort of surprised as this hadn't ever happened before. It didn't turn itself off so I pressed and held the power and home buttons. It turned off after three seconds. I tried to turn it back on but it wouldn't turn back on. I remembered about what someone said about pressing and holding the power button and the home button. I did so and as expected it turned back on. I unlocked it and the same thing happened again. Blue screen! I turned it off and tried the same thing again. Yet this time when it got to the lock screen, I pressed and held the power button and slid to power off. I didn't want to try turning it on again so I asked this question. WHY DOES MY IPOD SHOW A BLUE SCREEN? (Over and over agin every time I turn it on?) Please help!

Hello Sondralyn, make sure that Firefox isn't set to run as Administrator.
right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut, choose "Properties" and be sure

Hello. Lenovo laptop. Win7. Firefox and Int. Explorer installed. As per title, when I press th homepage button in FF4 I get another AVG Internet Security Toolbar tab appear.

    Hi spmorris,
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
Finally, your issue may be because you've been hit with some [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Is%20my%20Firefox%20problem%20a%20result%20of%20malware?s=malware&r=0&e=sph&as=s#w_how-do-i-get-rid-of-malware Malware].
    Hopefully this helps!

Did you try a hard reset? Hold the On button and the Home button until it powers down but continue to hold until it begins to power up again. See if that brings any success.

  • IPod restarts every time I click the center button

Every time I click the center button to go into the music folder, my iPod restarts, so I can't get into those files. It sometimes happens when going in to the extras folder as well. What do I do?!

Do you have any podcasts on your ipod?
My nano has a very strange problem with resetting too, whenever I transfer a podcast to the ipod, listen to them using the 'Podcasts' folder itunes makes in the ipod's music folder(not playlists, but in the root music menu, before playlists), then delete just the podcast itself instead of the whole podcast folder, then I try going back into the music menu on the ipod, it restarts every time.
Only fix I've been able to come up with is just creating a new playlist for just podcasts, and putting my podcasts in that playlist and deleting the 'Podcasts' folder that itunes creates everytime I transfer a podcast to the ipod.
