My ipod nano 6th generation has a black spot on the screen
My Ipod nano 6th generation has a black spot on the screen where it appears that it was pressed by a thumb. Do I need to replace the screen or will it eventually correct itself after pressure is removed?

The screen on my iPod Nano (6th generation) has gone totally black. When I plug it in to my Mac, iTunes can see it. I've charged it for 3 hrs and tried restoring it via iTunes. Still no joy. Any suggestions?
He iPod most likely died or broke on its own

I have the iPod nano 6th generation, and I have had it since Christmas 2011 so it isn't that old; recently I went to listen to my music and found that the volume increase button is stuck (basically it's like when you press the volume button down to increase the volume, except it is stuck down like that and won't come back up) but it was only stuck about 3/4 of the way down. For about a week this was ok, I just had to press the button harder to make it go down and increase the volume, but now it won't increase the volume at all and it feels and looks as though the button is stuck the whole way in, even when I press the button with some force. I was wondering if anyone knew how I could fix it or if I need to take it to an apple store for them to fix it?!
Sorry if the way I have explained the problem is confusing, it's difficult to explain but it's extremely frustrating. This happened to me a few weeks ago. Instead of taking it to the Apple store and paying $ the 99 service charge ( I did give Apple 139.00 13 months ago! for this ipod), I saturated the end of a q-tip w/ WD 40 and carfefully rubbed around the perimeter of the power button. I waited a half hour and then cleaned of the excess WD 40. This unstuck my power button. I guess the WD 40 dissovled all the dirt under and around (also the consrtuction of the buttons is done w/ double sided tape-- maybe a design issue) the button. A friend tried isopropyl alcohol w/ great results. Try this before you give Appple any more $$ or get a new ipod. It's been 6 wks. and my button functions perfectly,

i have an ipod nano 6th generation .version 1.2 yesterday i restored it on i tunes using my system window 7. for the last few days it does not start when the sleep/pause button is pressed.or even by pressing the both button sleep/pause and sound minus..It starts while connected to power. and then continues working. I can not put off it and it automatically goes off after some time its performance is ok after starting by connecting to power and then disconnecting the cord.
what would be the reason and what to do?>Call Apple Care as you are still under warranty.

Hey, the stand-by button on my iPod nano 6th generation has been pushed into the iPod, I guess after being pressed a lot, to the point were it doesn't work, what do I do to fix this???
You'll need to take or send the iPod in for service or repair either via Apple or a third party company that does repair work on iPods.

My iPod nano 6th generation has stopped synicing with my laptop (Windows 8)
It worked fine before, but is now coming up with 'An iPod has been detected, but it could not be identified properly'
I've tried unplugging it, and re-trying, restarting my computer and uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes but it's still coming up with the same message... any help?I've tried unplugging it, and re-trying, restarting my computer and uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes
Doublechecking. Have you tried a complete uninstall of both iTunes and all the other related software components and then a reinstall? If not, try the instructions from the following document:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 -

Good afternoon, I would like some information I have an ipod nano 6th generation and has the same one-year warranty is only 2 months of use, and it fell down and broke the glass of the display, I called technical assistance in Brazil and informed me that Brazil has no repair services for Apple, which was the basis of its price change in the exchange is not worth half the value of the product.
I wonder how I do to change this device without the expense of 50% for the same product is in warranty?
Thanks in advance.yes agree, plus a multinational seeing a product and has no technical assistance to do the maintenance then it's no use I buy a new product if it is damaged I will always be because it has no prejudice in this maintenance.
sorry but even more products coming from China to Brazil in technical assistance. -

My ipod (nano, 6th generation) won't sync to a new computer with different stuff on it. Itunes on the new computer doesn't give the usual warning that you are about to lose all your existing stuff and the ipod *appears* to sync but when it's done it still has the stuff from the other computer on it. What to do?

New iPod nano 6th generation won't charge.
I just bought a new ipod nano 6th generation multi-touch. I opened it and it had no charge and a black screen, no surprise I assumed it just has no juice in it. I plugged it into my macbook pro via the USB cord included and after leaving it attached for over 3 hours it still has yet to charge or offer me more than a black screen. Is there any way to remedy this? Am I doing something wrong? Is it just simply dead and I need to return it for another? I have a half marathon to run in a week and I'd like to know soon so I can have it for the race x.x
If it does not get enough juice from the USB port, it will not charge.
You should NOT connect it to a USB hub. Connect it directly to the computer. If you use a desktop computer, use one of the ports on the back, not one on the front, which tend to be lower power.
You say you are using a macbook, which tend to be better about power. Make sure you don't have any settings that turn off power to the usb ports when the computer goes to sleep. Check your power settings in the settings screen.

hi my ipod nano 6th generation will not turn on what should i do ...no batery left and never pluged it into itunes
Hi meganisawsome,
If your iPod will not turn on and you are getting indicators that there is no battery left, the first step would be to make sure that the iPod has been charged correctly. You may find the following article useful:

If you are still having issues after charging, you may want to look at this article:
