when i go to connect my ipod to my laptop it wont connect what should i do to fix it?

Try plugging it in and waiting.  I have noticed that when an iPod's battery is very low, it takes some time for it to appear in iTunes and the Desktop.  Like it must have to have a minimum charge or something.

  • My ipod wont connect to my laptop but it will to others, and other peoples will connect to mine

I can connect my ipod touch 3rd gen to other laptops, and my car/wall chargers, but it will not connect to my own laptop,
However other ipods (a4th generation touch) will connect to my laptop and show up in itunes etc.
    What should i do

    - Did you do anything to it before the problem started?
    - Have you tried resetting it:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - you could try placing the iPod in recovery mode and the try restoring it.  However, it you computer can't see the iPod there is nothing you can do except restore it on another computer.  It willbe erased.  For recovery mode see:

  • My ipod wont connect to my laptop windows 8

the ipod is disabled it is coming up as usb device not recognised, how can i get it connected and undisable my ipod?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    Also, if necessary:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • My iPod wont connect to my iTunes or Computer.

-I have a 160gb iPod Classic, and since I updated to iTunes 11.1 it wont connect to my computer or itunes but it still makes the noise when I plug in the usb. When I plug it in on my laptop (which is runnnig and older version of itunes) it connects just fine...Answers?
-For a little while it was comming up on the computer saying "a problem has been found with your device" but i did a scan and it found nothing wrong.

I have the same (or similar problem). I have an iPod Classic 160GB that locks up iTunes in Windows 8.1 when trying to sync, but connects just fine on another Windows 7 computer. I even wiped and restored the iPod to factory conditions (multiple times) and I get the same results. I can't use the Windows 8.1 computer to do anything with this particular iPod. Other iPods connect just fine and the one in question connects to any other computer I have tried. Apparently, iTunes is not really compatible with Windows 8.1. I have tried all the "solutions" I could find here for the last week. This resulted in days of lost time with no results.

  • TS1424 My iPod wont connect to the iTunes Store when I am about to buy an app what do I do?

My iPod wont connect to the iTunes Store when I am about to get an app when I go to enter my password it says it can't connect to iTunes Store. What do I do?

Don't worry a lot of people, including me, are having this problem.  I think it's a problem going on at Apple's end, hopefully it will be up soon.

  • I have the iPod 5th gen. and my iPod wont connect to my wifi. I've tried everything. I reset my wifi networks and it still wont work. What do i do???

I have the iPod 5th gen. and my iPod wont connect to my wifi. I've tried everything. i rest my wifi networks and it still wont work. What do I do??

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

For the future, saying you tried everything provides use with zero info as to what you did try. If you really tried everything then there is no way we could help
