My isync vs 1.5 doesn't recognize .mac account.

Tried to sync and it tells me I don't have a .mac account. I have 2. Need help.

I had the same problem last week and I sent an email to support. Here is their reply to me, copied directly from the email they sent (it worked, by the way!):
"We apologize for any confusion. According to your request you are currently using Mac OS X version 10.3.9. This version of the operating system does not sync through the .Mac System Preferences but through the iSync application.
Please open the iSync application from your applications folder. iSync for Mac OS X version 10.3.9 and below can sync: Safari Bookmarks, Address Book Contact and iCal Calendars and To Do items.
Once iSync is open please click the .Mac icon to set your syncing preferences. "
Let me know if this works 'cause I'm a Mac newbie....

Outlook 2011 doesn't recognize .mac account

Since I upgraded to Lion, Outlook 2011 will not get my e-mails from my .mac account. I always get the message :
"The server for account .Mac / XXX returned the error (AUTH) Authentication failed. "Your username/password or security settings may be incorrect. Would you like to try re-entering your password?
I didn't change anything to my account since SL, and checked everything I could check, and it seems ok. Mail application works well and receives .mac messages, the problem is that I mainly use Outlook.
Should I change my incoming or outgoing server ? I am 10.7.2 and iCloud.

Windows Vista doesn't recognize Mac Pro RAM

I have installed Windows Vista Business on my Mac Pro using Boot Camp, and have found some anomalies that seem strange. It is basically working well (for Windows....).
1. I installed this on a 500Gb HD on my Mac Pro. This machine is a fully configured box doing video editing, with extensive AV files. It has all four drive bays filled, 3 of them with 1Tb drives, the thrid with a single 500Gb drive. I was a bit surprised to find that Boot Camp won't allow partitioning of its OSX installed boot HD beyond a Mac Partition and the Boot Camp paritition, or a secondary entire HD dedicated to Windows. This is not very practical with these large drives, since even though HD storage is fairly cheap, I don't want to give Microsoft more than maybe 100gb on a drive. All of the other HDs are partitioned for multiple parititions, which I need to preserve. The OSX boot drive has 3 OSX partitions already installed. Any ideas on how to do this better? Yes, I know I can use Parallels or VMWare, and do, but find that native Boot Camp Windows is better.
2. Windows Vista is running on a dedicated HD in Boot Camp on this machine (to all appearances running fine), but doesn't recognize more than 2Gb of RAM on my machine which is configured with 10Gb of RAM which is recognized appropriately in OSX. What am I missing?
I would appreciate any help on a partitioning scheme that works to support multiple partitions on these large drives, and a reason that only 2Gb out of 10Gb of RAM is recognized by Windows Vista Business in Boot Camp.

I am running in Boot Camp, which runs in native mode without emulation. The advantage is that if you are going to run Windows, which is my goal, it doesn't have the overhead of OSX. Indeed, most Mac machines are among the fastest Windows machines available for equivalent hardware when running Windows in native mode. There are a few more arcane advantages to running natively, particularly in terms of connecting to external devices. There is no background RAM overhead when run natively.

Modem doesn't recognize Mac

On a cold start, my modem doesn't recognize the Imac. I have to restart the modem to connect the computer to it. All connections are correct and tight. Ethernet to Ethernet. Absolutely no changes other than down loading Mavericks. Apple suggests taking Imac into store and replacing mother board. Everything worked perfect until new download. The modem does recognize the ethernet connection after sleep, but not after a restart. Anyone else having similar problem.

Linc, thank you for your reply. The only things listed on the drop down menu are Bluetooth PAN, Firewire, Ethernet 2, Ethernet 1, Bluetooth DUN, VPN, PPPoE, and 6 to 4. Wifi doesn't exist on the list. I believe my problem might be that because the light on the Xfinity modem for wifi is not lit, it is not communicating with my Mac Pro. Although the folks at Xfinity are showing that my wifi is active, it doesn't seem to want to behave. I don't even know how to activate the wifi on my Mac. Everyone keeps telling me to click on the little icon at the top of the desktop. I don't have one of those icons there.

TM doesn't recognize cloned account

I restored my main drive from a clone when it got corrupted. The clone had all the most recent data, so I suffered no data loss. But I also have a large TM drive with backups for that main drive. However, it now does not recognize the backups as belonging to the main drive, and wants to start a completely new archive. But there's not space for that, so to do that I'd have to erase the TM drive and start over. I can do that, but if there's a way to save and continue the incremental backups, I'd prefer to do that. Any way to make that work?

That, too. If you get a new Mac (or logic board), it will also do a new, full backup (even if the drive has the same UUID. Being, or appearing to be, a different Mac will override the same UUID).

It sounds like your TM drive may be a bit small. The absolute minimum to keep the last backup and make a new full one is 2.2 times the amount of data: last backup, plus new full backup, plus 20% "padding" for temporary workspace on the TM drive.
If these are your only backups, you might consider getting a larger drive for TM, and using the existing one for "secondary" backups, via CarbonCopyCloner, SuperDuper, or the like. See #27 in [Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions|http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/FAQ.html] (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum) for details.

I updated and changed my apple id and email address on my computer but when I sign in on my phone it doesn't recognize either account now. help

If I delete my icloud account so that I can get one that matches my apple id and email and password that I updated due to a new email address, will I lose my contacts and pics and calendars on phone that were synched to icloud. It keeps warning me when i go to delete that any contacts etc saved in the cloud for the device will be lost. If I cant delete this icloud account how will i ever have one that has working email, etc. or attached to my apple id account. I can't even download apps on my phone now bcause it says my id or password is wrong but the account name id on phone and cloud shows up as old inactive address. I can't even retype current one in box

If all you did was rename your ID, you can go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted, then sign back in with your renamed ID. Deleting the account only deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your phone, not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account and not changing accounts, your data will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.
If, however, you are changing to a new account with a new ID, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted. Then choose Merge when you sign into the new account and turn your iCloud syncing back on to upload your data to the new account.
Before deleting the account, save you photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).

System doesn't recognize my account as admin

Hello, everyone!
A couple of weeks ago, I began having some problems with my printer. I couldn't print directly from a program, but if I drug a document over my desktop printer icon, it was fine. Then a couple days later, I tried to install some automatic updates, & the system claimed my account wasn't an administrator! I am the owner of the computer & the only user; the only account in existence is an admin account. I reinstalled the system & everything was fine. I have since purchased a new printer; a combo printer/scanner actually. Tonight, the same thing happened with the new printer. Couldn't print, & when I tried to fix the problem by reinstalling the driver, system told me my account is not an administrator. Any idea what is happening & how I can fix it??

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Before any thing else, try resetting the PRAM (from a cold start hold down Command + Option + P + R while you hit the Power button. Hold and allow to chime 3 times, then release and allow to start.
In addition, before and after any installations or updates it is always advisable to Repair Disk Permissions from the Disk Utility (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility).
If problems persist boot from the Installer CD, go to the Installer Menu and open Disk Utility. Select your HDD (manufacturer name) in the left panel and First Aid in the Main panel. Run Repair Disk in bottom right. If problems are found run again, until no problems are reported. If it reports problems DU can't repair you will need to run either Tech Tool Pro or Disk Warrior.
You may need to work in System Preferences eventually to set up a new trial account, but for now do the above procedures and post back.

1. Don't have reinstall Lion option as I live/work in Africa and 2Gb runs about $50... + if it cuts out (which it did and does) then I have to restart download
2. Solved: via reset password utility at the very beginning, forgot where i found the link, but this was the solution
3. Suggestion: Apple, provide a freakin' EASY way for ppl to fix their machines, such as with last gen MBA...

ITunes doesn't recognize my account

For some reason I cannot sign into iTunes through my iPhone. I came to the part where I enter my password and after entering it, iTunes then tells me that either my AOL screen name couldn't be found, or that my password isn't correct. I know I entered everything correctly but I cannot sign into iTunes. I also tried to sign in on my laptop but I run into the same problem. Before this problem occurred, I had upgraded AOL from 9.0 to 9.1. I dunno if this info is helpfull, but I'm just trying to figure out what's going on. Any suggestions?

ITunes doesn't recognize my account after upgrade

I just downlaoded the new version of iTunes, and I had a lot of trouble getting it to connect to the iTunes store. Now that I've solved that issue (after an hour on the phone with a rep. in India), the iTunes store says "This AOL screename has not yet been used with the iTunes Store" When it definately has! I still have $5.00 on my account or else I would just make a new one but I am very frustrated. Please help!

Do you definitely have the radio button for AOL selected?
If you still can't sign in, contact its support. Maybe they can convert the AOL account as mentioned here:

I use Skitch as it can take Snapshots, allow the arrows and writing and post to holding site which then give the code required.
You can use other sites such as PhotoBucket, Flickr or similar Image Hosting site.
After that it is a question of using some HTML Code.

OR did you have an .Mac account before it changed to MobileMe ?
Older .Mac (@Mac.com) names can be used in iChat if you used to pay for it and have stopped (Lapsed Account) or if it was a trial account and also if it is still used with a MobileMe account. (or they can be new as I mentioned above).
Basically I would like to know how you got the name.
From what you said you have entered the info into iChat and it appears in the Accounts List.
However trying to "Use this Account" does not get it to Login and an error message appears.
Does it look like this one ?
Or is it a smaller one ?

When I synchronise my iPad I get the message that the computer on which iTunes is installed doesn't recognize my account. I should go to store/authorise this computer. When I do that I get the message that the computer already has authorisation. What to do?

AM 7.1 doesn't recognize Directory Server lockout accounts

Hi All,
Here is the test case. I have AM 7.1. It uses LDAP module to connect and validate the users account to an external LDAP server. If I setup the account lockout policies in the Directory Server (not in the AM 7.1 authentication module) then AM 7.1 doesn't recognize that account is locked after few failed tries..... I can see that in DS access file, it mentions that account is locked but AM 7.1 just gives me "Authentication failure".
Is this a bug in the LDAP authentication module?

hold on people! be a professional and be courteous to your fellow developer. There are lot of reasons behind this implementation.
First AM supposed to work with most of LDAP servers (including M$ AD)not all of them implement the lockout the same way. Besides it dates back DS 5.0 then the account lockout and password policies are not that mature, that lockout was not shared across all the replicas. AM has to support a LDAP neutral account lockout mechanism. Hence this implementation.
Coming back to the question, AM does honour the nsaccountlock attribute if it is true then you will not be able to get a SSO Token. Since the LDAP auth module is generic it tries to implement most of the LDAPv3 controls that way it will work for the other LDAP servers too, if

IPhone can't recognize my account

Hi.. Okay so both my father and I have iPhones.. But whenever I try to download free apps it asks for his password and it doesn't work when I fill it In. My phone doesn't recognize my account and I am on iCloud. I don't know what to do I have the same software as him and I just received another software update.. Please help?! It did work before I updated software .. It recognized my account.?!

I am having the same issue... I have an APPLE ID that is the SAME as my AOL ID.. I have been using my AOL ID all the time (the other one was made in error while back).
On the phone, when I put the ID in, it ONLY recognizes the APPLE ID (there is no check box to say WHAT you are trying to log into). even adding @aol.com at the end on the phone logon doesnt work...
So what happens is.. when I buy an app on the phone it will NOT sync with my itunes computer becuase that is logged in with the AOL name...
This wasnt thought out..
The phone needs to be updated to indicate somehow weather you are logging in with an APPLE or AOL name.. same as the itunes... I have my history on the AOl ID and want to keep it...
(I also have a [email protected] ID which is another mistake that I do not use.. but that has nothiung to do with this)
