have you gone to the app store program to check if there are updates for those apps to work with newer versions of ios ?

TextEdit and Stickies not working after most recent security update

Hi,
I recently installed security update 2007-009 (Universal) along with Java for Mac OS X 10.4 Release 6.
Immediately afterwards I had real trouble with some third party apps such as Butler.app, as well as Stickies.
The problem seemed to resolve itself, but it has come back with a vengeance tonight. Neither Stickies nor TextEdit will let me type beyond a few characters before "not responding". Butler has also not loaded.
What is going on? And what can I do to use my most practical writing tools? This is incredibly frustrating.

Both iPhoto and Mac Mail not working after most recent security update

Granted I wasn't there to see it happen but I think my mom's computer here is a bit fubar based on something having been changed on her computer prior to the last security update. My guess is that her friends who think they are 'helping' are actually causing some real problems but I'm here now so I'm just trying to fix it with what I can.
Essentially neither her mail or iPhoto seems to be working. I've found a similar error message in other posts but what throws me for a loop is that, when I use the console log and look at the crash files for both applications, they are both telling me the exact same thing. Could they both be pulling the same file for use? I've already run the disk repair stuff, changed the permissions on the file and just about everything else I could think of - do I need to reinstall the application or perhaps the entire operating system?

Any new iCal entry on either iPad or on the iPhone ends up via iCloud on both iPads and iPhone. BUT NOT ON THE MacBookPro. And iCal entry on the MacBookPro does NOT GET SENT to iCloud.com or to either iPad or the iPhone. This is a huge problem for me because I do all my office scheduling on the iPad or iPhone but rely on the MakeBookPro to print out daily client lists. TS3274 iPad does not start after the latest software update

After downloading the latest software update on 25 April 2014, my iPad does not start. The reset mechanism does not have any effect. I would be thankful for advice.

If the reset doesn't work, force iPad into recovery mode.
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

Hi folks. Since my last software update, my computer has slowed to a near halt. Help!
I have a late 2009 MacBook Pro, running OS X 10.8.2. 2.26 Ghz / 8 gb memory.
I went into the Disk Utility and ran "verify disk," and got an "ok." Verified and repaired disk permissions. No idea if they're relevant.
At this moment the activity monitor is showing 3.79 gb of free memory -- 10 minutes ago, when I was doing nothing particularly differently, it showed all 7.99 gb in use (active and inactive -- I have. No idea what this means.)
It's all beach balls around here, all the time. Any ideas?

Your problem is excessive swapping of data between physical memory and virtual memory.
That can happen for two reasons:
You have a long-running process with a memory leak (i.e., a bug), or
You don't have enough memory installed for your usage pattern.
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination. In Activity Monitor, select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar, if not already selected. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more memory over time without ever releasing it.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details:

Ipad does not work after IOS 7.2 update

After update to IOS 7.2 for my latest generation Ipad (with retina display) the screen repeatedly changes betwen the regular view of my home screen with ipad app icons over to the Apple update screen (black and white screen with the Apple logo in the middle. This occurs back and forth every few seconds. No update is actually taking place and under Genera it says my software is up to date.
What to do?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I"m going to make the presumption that you've checked the volume and that you don't have it muted. One thing some have suggested is to go into the settings and reset all settings.
It is kind of a drag because you wil have to retweak everything but it's helped for some.

This is iPhoto for iOS, not OSX. Despite having the same name, they are completely different programs. You should repost your question in the iLife/iPhoto area.

Ipad 4 front and back camera ipad 4 not working after updating to ios 7

I just updated my ipad 4 to ios 7. After the update I noticed that both cameras are not working anymore.
I can start the phote app butt I anly get a black screen

I have been experiencing this exact same problem (back camera not working, switching to front camera it works once then freezes and screen goes black). I tried the fixes everyone has suggested and no luck. I took my iPad to a Genius Bar and let me spare you all the frustration of that experience. The "geniuses" solution at the Apple Genius Bar was to offer to sell me a new iPad for $299. After attempting to restore the iPad I was told they couldn't determine what the problem was and that there could be a "million" different reasons why the camera would stop working. When I asked them about the problem possibly being related to the IOS 7 I was told that "people say a lot of things on the Internet and that the IOS 7 is getting blamed for a lot of things." Nevermind that it's on Apple's own discussion boards that it's being talked about.
I'm so ****** off and so disappointed with Apple and their crap products. There are posts about this dating back at least six months, but no fix or patch? This iPad is barely more than a year old. It has never been dropped or mishandled in any way. The first time it was ever even taken out of our home was today...to take it to the Not-So-Genius Bar. My 5 year old uses this iPad and is in tears over the fact that it will no longer take pictures or video.

aafter the new update 8.3 my iPad sounds are not working like "app games" "app news" " sound clicks from keyboard and browser, is someone else having problems with sounds, however, the speakers are working, I went to "music" and it is fine, sound from web browsers stream is fine or playback videos are all ok.
any ideas, I'm lost in this issue, besides the new update made my iPad faster, as well as, the wifi.

Check that the mute switch (top right side switch above volume control) is pushed up OR
pull up from the bottom of the screen to bring up control Center & make sure the bell with a line going through it (mute) is not highlighted. It would only be there if the side switch is set to lock screen rotation.
Settings->Sounds->check the volume slider is up & that lock sounds & keyboard clicks are enabled.
If the first two don't work, try a general reset:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose data but will have to log back into your wifi network(s)

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Some of the shortcut keys and directional keys on the keyboard are not working in FF 4 RC1 (i.e. Tab, Ctrl+C, arrow keys). They work fin in FF 3.6x and other applications.

Crtl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, Tab, and arrow keys do not work at all in FF4.0b13 and later. I am not sure about earlier versions as this is the first version I have tried.

I found this helpful article (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1381) and worked my way through the section "Some keys don't work as expected".
All the following functions/settings are disabled or turned off:
Text to speech / Speak selected text when the key is pressed
Slow Keys
Mouse Keys.
The keyboard viewer just confirms my list of keys that are not working.
Starting in safe mode makes no difference; nor does booting from the Mac OS X Install Disc and running Terminal from the Utilities menu. The same keys as before fail to work.
This seems to confirm that it's a hardware issue. Anyone have any suggestions?
