My Login Page is Trying to Authenticate Me When it Loads

Hey Guys,
I have an application with LDAP authentication and a custom login page (pg 101). When I run this app, the login page displays first, logs me in and logs out fine. However, when I branch to this application from another application, the login page shows up with the following error:
ORA-31202: DBMS_LDAP: LDAP client/server error: Invalid credentials
Error ERR-1082 Error in executing authorization scheme code.
I looked at debug and this is happening because when this page is loaded, it goes to my authentication scheme and tries to authenticate me even though I havnt logged in and because no user exists at this point the error happens.
I have set the login page to 'Page is Public' and have also used the following code in the authentication scheme's Page Sentry Function:
IF APEX_CUSTOM_AUTH.CURRENT_PAGE_IS_PUBLIC = TRUE THEN;
RETURN TRUE;
ELSE
RETURN FALSE;
END IF;
Any ideas of how I can stop my login page from being authenticated? Or where I am going wrong
Thanks
-Mark

Mark,
Try using the same cookie name to avoid the login page. You can find the cookie attribute under Home>Application Builder>Application #>Shared Components>Authentication Schemes>Edit Authentication Scheme. Thanks.

Manish

  • Page with PartialTriggers is not working when it loads for the first time

    Hi All,
I am experiencing unexpected behavior when using partial triggers and this recurres every time the page loads and the second time it works fine.
Here is the requirement, The page has a check box, when checked, two text boxes should be disabled. When unchecked the two fields should be enabled.
(The fields are Start Date Time and End Date Time in the code below). I am also handiling the Date Validations on value change listener of Start Date time and have no issues on that.
When I try to enter the dates on page load (The check box - "Process Full Indicator" is not selected), I enter the required fields (PEID, Dates and check the Process IAF and Process SMS check boxes and click on the ProcessRFI Button, the date fields are emptied and nothing happens. When i redo the same thing the second time, it works.
The button invokes a BEPL process.
One of the links suggested that I use the partialTrigger tag in the parent layout, I used in the panelFormLayout and it sill did not reflect.
I am facing the same issue in an other page that is reteriving data from a DB Table. As I notice, both the pages are invoking dataControlls. Not too sure if it is related.
    Kindly help.

    Hi John,
My page is not a part of a task flow. The whole app is an Admin app comprising of multiple individual pages navigated using Menu.
I have tried to run this page individually on my local machine as well as when deployed on the WLS server. The behavior is the same.
    Kindly advice,
    Thanks,

  • MacBook Pro freezes during several different login pages?

I recently reformatted my laptop, and had a new hard drive installed on my 2008 MacBook Pro. I'm running mavericks.
I have had these freezes happen to me on several login pages. I know it happened when I tried to log into Skype, when I tried to pay my GCI bill (login page), and I think it also happened when. Tried to log into an MMA forum.
It's always during a log in page.
I know I recently installed 'shockwave' flash or something...before I just had 'flash' so maybe that is it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Try troubleshooting Safari extensions  ..
From the Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
Turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, turn one extension on then quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the incompatible extension then click uninstall.
If it's not an extensions issue, back to the menu bar, select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
    Now select the Advanced tab.
Select:  Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

  • How to configure a form based login page with entitlement role

We need to have login page to our portal app.
When using "form based" authentication is it possible to map the security on a
    "entitlement role" ?
Our need is to be abled to give direct url acces to some pages of the portal (for
exemple by sending urls like "http://server/appcontextpath/appmanager/myportal/mydesktop?_nfpb=true&_pageLabel=mypage")"
by email to portal users) and need a simple mecanism of authentication before

    Olivier,
You can't reference WLP visitor roles in weblogic.xml, but you can
reference global roles (created using the WLS console):
    - <security-role-assignment>
    <role-name>PortalSystemAdministrator</role-name>
    <externally-defined />
    </security-role-assignment>

  • Page "bounces" left to right when it loads

Any ideas why my pages are bouncing around a bit when they load? I have a feeling it has something to do with having wrong table widths or something like that maybe?  Any ideas appreciated!
    http://www.bluehippotravel.com

Wow. Multiple <body>, multiple <title>, loading bluehippo4.css four times, lots of HTML errors, more CSS errors than I've ever seen in one place, images without width and height attributes, redundant CSS, ... I can see why you're having a hard time finding the tiny little glitch in all that tangle. I didn't even look at the JavaScript.
I suspect one of the main culprits is that you might be using includes and that the file(s) you are including has elements that do not belong inside the body of the main page (extra <body> and <title> to name a couple). If that is true, edit all of that stuff out of the external include file. Otherwise, just delete those extra tags.
Please clean up the invalid CSS, consolidate the redundant CSS, fix as many of the HTML errors as you can and see if that doesn't solve the problem. If it doesn't, I'll be happy to have another look at it. Or maybe some other kind soul will be able to sort it out as is, but I think that's asking a lot.
These two sites should be your constant companions during Web development:
    http://validator.w3.org/
    http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
In fact, as Web dev tools, they are more valuable than Dreamweaver itself.
I also recommend using FireFox with the Web Developer and FireBug add-ons to add more tools to aid in Web dev.

  • Trying to access server remotely. Have Static IP from ISP but if I type that address into browser I get router login page. How do I get RDP

Hi Guys, Please help.  I am trying to run remote desktop from internet.  I have just been given a static IP address from my ISP and when I type it into browser I get router login page.  I want to be able to use Remote Desktop.  I can
use RDP on the LAN and works great but not from external (internet).  I don't know how to get static IP address to open windows login page or RDP to connect when I put IP address into RDP..  I have Windows 2003 server running.

Check your router for free ports. You may use http port number "80" to port forward the request to your server. In your firewall settings, create a new rule to allow incoming http request. Before that enable NAT in your router for LAN and assign
a static IP address for the server machine. It would make port forwarding easier.

Hello, I'm having the same issue. I did check my custom login form and I'm using "post" and fully qualified OAM host name. The behavior and very inconsistent. My integration is OIF-OAM. OIF proxy protected by 11g webgate. If I close the browser or try hitting back button, the login form comes up fine and could able to access the resource. I did look into support site and found this Doc Id: ID 1348419.1 which matches my condition, but couldn't able to figure out if there is a patch out for this bug.
    Has anyone faced this issue?
    Thanks for the help.

  • FDM crashed after trying to open locations and mappings. Login page error

Whilst trying to open mappings for a given location, FDM has crashed. We have restarted the FDM service, however despite the service running cannot log into FDM any more. Internet Explorer now displays the following error:

I have seen potential solutions at the following links, suggesting potential invalid reserved characters (such as &) in the mappings previous uploaded. We will look at trying to remove these rows via a SQL script, however we do not have any visibility at this stage and will require assistance from the DBA's.
Error @ Deleting the existing FDM Account mappings.
    FDQM Mapping error
Can anyone please suggest which tables we need to be looking at/guiding the DBA's too? Or even better, can anyone please provide a script? Or could this be a red herring, since the FDM login page is not even loading?

Thanks for your response. Yes the exact same solution has worked for us too. FDM crashed last night, which was apparently caused by the flash recovery drive becoming full. This caused the Oracle RDBMS to freeze. After this was re-sized, we then had to restart the Hyperion services this morning. Everything then appeared to be fine, until the above errors occurred. A full reboot has since resolved the FDM issue, but we suspect an IIS restart might have been the answer.
If the same issue occurs again I will update this thread with more info!

  • I tried to set my desk top computer back to factory settings by holding down the command  R key and it keeps going to my login page

I tried to set my computer back to factory settings by holding down the command + R key and when I turn on the computer it brings me to mt login page for my password

In order to return your computer to factory spec you need the discs, there is no other way. You can call AppleCare and give them the serial number and they'll ship you a set of the original discs for a fee, or providing that you have at least 1gb of ram you can purchase and install 10.6. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard

  • Strange thing happening when trying to override login page

    Hi all,
I'm probably approaching this in the wrong way.
I'm trying to override and customize the login page, and eventually override and customize the welcome page.
    I have tried to copy/paste /libs/cq/core/content/login to /apps/cq/core/content/login
Every time I get an error "Could not copy node. Received 404 not found"
If I try to save a newly created login node, I get a conflict error. "Could not save changes. Received 409 (Conflict) for saving changes in workspace crx.default./apps/cq/core/content
My thoughts behind taking this approach is that generally you can override the libs folder using the apps folder.
Any hints for how I can go about what I want to do?

    Hello Bayani,
This is most common problem and will occure when you try to operate various operations between/among nodes without saving them properly. One scenario for example could be, if you move a node from one node to other node and again try to modify any of the node (mainly like move/delete/create) without saving it, it will give you exception because until you save the repository both the nodes where you did the operation will not have proper status in repository.
So advise would to check your operation and try to save and refresh the repository after performing the operation which require saving to nodes information.
    Thanks,
    Pawan

  • Flash Player Plugin tries to access the internet upon arriving at account login pages

    Firefox 24.0
Adobe Flash Player Plugin 11.8 r800
    Firewall software: ZoneAlarm
My firewall is set to "Manual Control" and I get warnings for all Internet access attempts.
Firefox is already granted outgoing access to the Internet, so I surf without additional warnings. So if I go to YouTube, I can watch the videos without receiving a prompt from my Firewall.
However when I visit a secure account login page (where I have to enter my user ID and PW) the Firewall warns me that "Firefox is trying to use Adobe Flash Player 11.8 r800 to access the Internet".
A prompt like this is provided by the Firewall when one program uses another to access the Internet. If for example I click on a link in MS Excel, the firewall will tell me that Excel is trying to use Firefox to access the Internet.
    What makes me concerned is:
    1) Firefox already has access privileges. It should not need to "use Flash to access the internet"
    2) This occurs when I'm about to use the keyboard to enter sensitive data into a secure page
    3) There are no [apparent] Flash elements on the login pages.
Could I have acquired a malicious Flash software that tries to collect keystrokes and transmit them somewhere? Is there a way to show (in Firefox) which Flash file is working at any given time? (This would let me identify what's making the attempt to access)
I am fully protected with Antivirus, Antispam, and breach prevention software. I also ran Norton Power Eraser to see if there was anything at Root level. Nothing found.
Thank you, in advance for your feedback.

Pages can use Flash even when there is no video displayed. For example some sites use Flash for menus, some for audio, and some may load Flash in their Google Analytics scripts so they know as much as possible about your system.
In most cases, the Flash player will be trying to load a .SWF file, although that may not always be obvious. You could look for it in Firefox's Web Console.
While viewing the page, press Ctrl+Shift+k, the reload the page. If there is a request for Flash media from the page, it should appear in the console (if the request is held up by your firewall, it nevertheless should appear as a pending request). There is a search/filter box where you could try entering .swf to reduce the time needed to scan through the list. Can you find the URL of the requested file? That might or might not make you comfortable about the request.

  • Help with implementing a login page - ADF Faces & 10.1.3

I am having trouble getting a basic login page working and am hoping someone can help. I'd like to have a login page with username and password fields and a submit button. When submitted, I would like to authenticate the user and either send them to a second page if I find the username & password, or return them to the login page and display a global JSF message if I can't find the username/password info. Pretty standard stuff.
I've got an app module that contains a read-only view object, which has a custom method (in MyViewImpl.java) that checks the username & password against a database table and returns a boolean. I don't have an entity object since it's a read-only view.
    I've tried 2 different approaches:
    1) Binding the username and pw inputText fields to the parameters of my custom method, and binding the submit button to the custom method, all done by drag and drop from my data controls.
The problem with this approach is that I cannot figure out how to set the global message if the username/password combo is invalid. Once my method is invoked, it returns an "action" String and page navigation occurs (In this case, I have my custom method return a String instead of a boolean). If login fails, at what point do I set the global message?
    2) Using a backing bean for my login page and binding the fields and the button to the bean, and setting the button's action to a method in the bean, which then calls my custom method. Finally, either set the message or navigate based on the boolean returned from my method.
This seems the better approach, since it keeps the navigation and error message in the ViewController. The problem here is that I can't figure out how to call my custom method from my backing bean. I've seen a few examples, including one using a managed property and calling the action binding's invoke() method, but haven't had any luck (see #51 on this page: http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html). The invoke() method does not return a value, so I cannot get the boolean value I need.
So, I'm apparently missing a piece (or two or three) of the puzzle here. Any guidance is most welcome! And I'm fine with changing any piece of this puzzle if there's a better way of accomplishing this.
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Frank,
Thanks for your reply. I'm not sure if container managed authentication is a good fit or not for my current application, so I will have to look into the details of how it works. Thanks for the suggestion. Whether I use it or not, I will still need to authenticate against a database and not a flat file due to the fact that users may come and go and change passwords frequently, and my application will not be handling the management of that.
So, I would be still left with the task of accessing the ViewObject and navigating/displaying a message based on the results of that lookup. Fortunately, after slogging through my code and consulting the ADF documentation that is scattered throughout the Oracle website, I was able to get the login page working as I wanted (I found the "Accessing Bindings and Binding Containers from JSF Backing Beans" section of http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/tips/muench/1013eabinding/index.html to be especially helpful). I used the submit button's action to call a method in the backing bean that sent the username and password to my application module's custom authentication method. When I got the boolean result, I either returned a "success" action or set a global JSF message and returned "null".
Needless to say, I am looking forward to the ADF/JSF version of the Toystore application, along with some sort of comprehensive framework documentation.
    Thanks,
    Andy

  • JSF/JAAS j_security_check for role-based login pages

I'm looking for a way to take the login request after j_security_check is through and invoke logic in a backing bean somewhere to redirect the user (using Faces) to the appropriate view (via an outcome defined in the faces-config.xml, of course) based on the user's role. Is there a "JSF" (i.e. non-filter) way to do this that I'm missing? If not, I suppose I could try a filter if it will work.
I've thought of just going to the same page and displaying different components, but I don't like that a lot, even using subviews. I thought about having two web apps, but find that to be a poor option. I really don't like trusting the user to remember/get a URL right beyond http://xyz.com or something similarly simple, as much to save them from frustration as anything else.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I've scoured forums and Googled all day without much success, so I apologize if this is posted somewhere already. This seems like something that should be pretty simple and I may want to kick myself when I see the answer.

    Hi Brian,
I do not believe it is j_security_check's job to check for blank
    passwords.
In many security realms, it is "legal" for a user to have a blank
password. j_security_check forwards whatever password was entered so that
even users with blank passwords can be authenticated by the realm on the
backend. For this reason I believe that j_security_check is "doing the
right thing" by just forwarding whatever is presented to it, rather than
having its own logic. It is best if j_security_check just acts as a very
    dumb middle man.
If behavior was altered, it is true that your particular problem would be
solved, but then many other people would have a problem with their users
    with blank passwords authenticating properly...
Try looking into how to disable anonymous logins on the LDAP end of
    things. Hope this helps.
    Cheers,
    Joe Jerry

I am using the LDAP Security Realm to authenticate against an iPlanet

    are entered for form-based authentication.
However, when a userid is entered but no password, j_security_check
logs the user in successfully. Aparently, this is correct LDAP
behaviour as anonymous login to the LDAP server is permitted. It seems
that the j_security_check servlet should check for blank passwords
before trying to authenticate against the LDAP server and fail
authentication if this is the case.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
