My Mac is extremely slow, lags, freezes.... and it's only a year old.
I've contacted support three times, and it still hasn't fixed my problem...Now that my apple support is EXPIRED, its still having issues. If they fixed it the first, even second, ****, even the third time, then I wouldn't be here. I know nothing of Macs. I recently converted so I have no idea.
It gets better when I restart for a few hours then as soon as I run more then 2 programs it starts giving me the busy icon, my bars won't come out of auto-hide, and the last time I restarted, for some reason my background disappeared and now it's just the Default?
I need my computer for school as I'm Pre-Med at my University, Majoring in Micro with a Minor. I'm very busy, I don't have time to deal with this. Legit.
Please somebody help. Macs are supposed to be better than PC and right now, my last PC at least ran way better than what my Mac is doing now. That's bad.

BranislavI believe you can blame IE's incredibly slow JavaScript engine for this. That's my experience. There's not much the Mapviewer developers can do about that really.
I had hoped, that IE8 had improved on that, but there hasn't really been any visible differences.

I'm having this problem but only online. I've confirmed that it is the computer (2007 MacBook), and it only happens when I'm using wi-fi connection. My other MacBook (2010) is connecting with wi-fi fine, and when I plug this MacBook into the ethernet connection it is also doing fine. I've re-started, check the memory, deleted cookies, histories, gone as far as uninstalling and re-installing browswers. Used the System Preferences network diagnostics and got an "all good". Ideas appreciated.

For the past two weeks, Pdf's are extremely slow to open and attach in outlook 2007. currently have Adobe Acrobat X Standard and Adobe Reader X running on windows 7, using microsoft office 2007. is anyone else having this issue?
In an effort to try and solve this I have converted the four reports to native POJO datasources. I thought that maybe the report was looking for the ODBC data source upon which the reports were designed. The ODBC approach was used to help speed up design and development. Now that the DB schema is up and running I can use the POJO and eclipse for preview.
No change in startup and exporting on the QA system. -

A test file is being used to do inserts into a schemaless XML DB. The file is inserted and then links are made to 4
different collection folders under /public. The inserts are pretty slow (about
15 per second and the file is small)but the xquery doesn't even complete when
there are 500 documents to query against.
The same xquery has been tested on a competitors system and it has lightening fast performance there. I know it
should likewise be fast on Oracle, but I haven't been able to figure out what
is going on except that I suspect somehow a cartesian product is the result of
the query on Oracle.

I have a MacBook Pro that is only a year old. It seems to have issues closing out safari randomly and running slowly.. Sometimes it's takes quite a bit of time for webpages to open. I don't game.. My ipod touch will not play music in my Bowers and Wilkins mini zeppelin nor my Logitech. Yet, it plays in my car. The music can be heard playing in the ipod itself. It is only 2 years old. Should I repair or just buy another? Thanks!
Did it start not working after updating the iPOs on the iPod? SOmetimes updating an iOS breaks compatibility.
You can try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPod. -

How can I convert MiniDV tapes to DVD? I've use a Canon GL 2 and an iMac about 1 year old. I'm trying to use iMovie and I've installed the latest drivers.
MiniDV was a great format, one I still use often. I also still use iMovie HD6 to process it and, for all the iterations of iMovie that followed it, I still believe it was one of Apple's greatest movie software programmes, next to Final Cut Pro, using a timeline method of editing. That was also in the day which Apple put Superdrives into their computers, so that you could not only make your movie in iMovie, but you could render it to iDVD and then burn the DVD. Now you need to buy an external burner.
Since iMovie HD6 and iDVD 6 were "universal" software, it has continued to work through the many OS releases since it came out with Tiger, I believe it was. So, it may still work with Mavericks too and, if you could locate a copy of iLife 06, probably used, you might enjoy the difference that HD6 has over all iMovie releases since then.
Not saying you can't process your MiniDV with current iMovie versions, but I'm not the one to speak about that. -

Probably because it pre-dates Airprint technology. The fact that it has wifi doesn't change anything if it isn't an Airprint-supported printer

My volume down button have stuck but it was not my falt and no dent is on the button and I read in an article that apple will replace it because it is a defect and my phone is 2 years old so means out of warrenty just want to ask that will apple replace it.
If your phone is out of warranty you will be given the option of buying a new phone or getting one with an out of warranty replacement, which is cheaper that buying a new phone.

It's not turning on at all, it turned off and won't respond to any buttons. I've tried to charge and all it does it turn on to the apple screen than turn back off, and does this the whole time while on the charger. I tried recoverying it through itunes also, and that didn't work either.

Macbook is extremely slow, lags, and glitches, unresponsive.
My macbook is about 7 months and recently out of no where it has been freezing, being very slow, takes long to load videos etc. When I change pages the screen will freeze and become black and distorted. It is not just when I am on the internet either, but when I am opening or closing applications. Some people have said try closing applications sometimes it slows everything down, but I have tried that and it hasnt helped. I rarely turn off my computer, and always have it plugged in, i dont know if that has any effect.
I often have to force quit out of safari when switching from pages or clicking on links. And just yesterday I was on a page where there was a link, but I did not click the link but switched to my favorites page, then my screen went black and for about a second an image came up of what the link to the website would have been.
I have tried using onyX to clean up my computer, but I do not see any improvement.
If anyone could help I would be willing to pay over paypal, I really do not feeling like paying apple to help with me with this when I doubt they can.
ThanksSounds like a bug or glitch...try using Apple Software Update to update all your applications...obviously, this is normal when loading a flash graphic or youtube video but if your just emailing and browsing, then it isn't normal.
Btw, I like Safari a lot, but I generally use Chrome, it is lighter on resources, I find and snappier. But the choice is yours
But UPDATE, maybe the CPU glitch will be fixed...those sort of glitches are very common, its just they don't affect everybody which makes them difficult to fix -
I can't remember when it started.
My iMac (2 years) started taking too much time processing: while typing, for example, it showed nothing, and after I stopped he started showing the letters.
Then the beach ball appeared most of the time. i was using Firefox by that time.
I had to force quit several times.
Tried to update Firefox, didn't work.
Most of the time I had to force quit or even shut down completely. Some times it even didn't restore (blue screen or apple screen forever), had to shut down again and let it for a while.
Tried Safari, started well, then the whole situation of lagging, freezing crashing started.
Tried Google Chrome. Started beautifully. Now the whole situation again.
I cannot work for a straight hour. The beach ball is always there!!
Yesterday I downloaded the last combo of updates for OS 10.6.8, I updated my CS5 (Bridge, PS, InDesign, Illustrator and Camera Raw).
I have two external drives, but never used the Time Machine feature.
I'm not a experienced technical person.
Any clue?
I'm really planning asking for Apple support. I have lots of work to finish (I cannot finish them on a PC - Mac only app)... but if anybody can give me a clue for now... I'm really getting crazy about it.

I have a similar story. It also started with Firefox showing the beach ball. Now, it is mostly the Finder who shows it when doing any action. I can be working in an application with no problem, but the moment I use the finder to save a file in a different location, the beach ball appears.
Once the first symptom, everything starts complicating and, in some cases, the whole computer freezes. I can not even use the Command+Alt+Esc to invoke the window to close the unresponsive programs. It all ends with a hard switch off of the computer.
Although I have not found yet the solution to the problems, I can advance what I did. It may be that you are a bit luckier and any of these help.

> Disconnected external USB drives, tablet, printers, etc. (all peripherals).
My system HD has plenty of emtpy space (a bit more than 200Gb)
