My MacAir often quits. Help! Is there a permanent fix?

My MacAir often quits. I purchased it at Best Buy in September and within a week it had quit unexpectedly and since then it has quit numerous times. Sometimes I'm successful in getting it back on by connecting tto a power source and using the shift-control-option keys and power button at the same time. And sometimes I have to follow another recommendation seen on a post, to almost close the lid ad shake it. I'm so frustrated! I shouldn't these issues!  Is there a permanent fix?

This sounds like a hardware issue to me. I would advise contacting Apple for evaluation and (if necessary) service. If you have an Apple Store near you, make an appointment at the Genius Bar and take the machine to them.
One note for the future: if you buy from Apple directly, they have a 14-day no-questions-asked return policy. If anything isn't working right within that 14 days, you can return it and get a replacement, without having to deal with a warranty repair process. I don't know whether they honor that for machines purchased from someone else, like Best Buy, and it sounds like you may be outside that window at this point anyway. If you're still within that 14-day period, though, it would be worth checking into that.
