My MacBook laptop will suddenly instruct me to shutdown. A black transparent message appears and instructs me to shutdown. Then when I reboot, it tells me to send the info to Apple. What is causing this to happen?

MacBook laptop suddenly posts a black transparent message on my screen in several different languages instructing me to shutdown the computer. After rebooting, another message appears instructing me to send the information to Apple. This has begun to happen on a regular basis. What is the issue?

That's a kernel panic. the cause can be a software conflict or a hardware problem, so it's not easy to say without more information what can be done.

Wont turn on just flashes apple sign, for an ipad 2 what would cause this to happen When I tried to restore started to flash the dead battery sign

    Hello Tommythecat_nz,
I would check to ensure that the device is fully charged if you got the dead battery indicator. Let it charge for some time.

  • I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen?

I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen? It says I need to have flash 7 or higher. I have the most update flash available according to my browsers.

If you are using Flash Pro CC 2014, please update Extension Manager CC to 7.2.1. Then please confirm whether Flash is shown in the product panel of Extension Manager CC. If not, please refer to Re: Why can't I see InDesign CC in my Extension Manager CC.

You don't, take it to Apple for repair.
This might interest you if it's too old to fix.

  • The Apple ID Password request pops up constantly, I am not purchasing or updating apps, what might cause this to happen?

    What might cause this problem?

You may have an app that is trying to update or download that needs the password to continue... once you enter it it will time out so you don't have to worry about putting it in.
Enter it and it should store it for 15 minute only and after that time you'd need to enter it again to buy something.
Updates do not require password anymore but purchases do

  • TS2486 my mail icon on my dock is out of focus in comparision to the others and so is the hardware icon. What would cause this?

I am not able to recieve mail either and then suddenly I can. My mom has a gmail account and she can't email me but, others can.

It does not, it is the user's choice. Mail can be read both ways. The only difference is the interface.

  • Firefox is constantly freezing up, and I can't get it going again until I close pluginscontainer.exe which, when freezing, is quite large (sometimes even as big as 300MB). What is causing this? It seems to happen on pages with Flash.

I have already tried reinstalling Firefox, using both the BETA and Stable releases. I've cleared all of my plugins and started over with them, reinstalling Flash multiple times as well. After an uninstallation, I even went as far as deleting Mozilla from my Appdata folder on my user account and from Program Files to assure complete uninstallation.
This crash happens multiple times in a day, I can't go 20 minutes of browsing without this happening.
Also, there are multiple instances of plugin-container.exe running (right now, 5).
Thank you so much for your help, this issue has been driving me up the wall and I just could not get it to stop.

There is a known issue where multiple instances of plugin container open if history or cookies are cleared. Are you, or some utility clearing firefox cookies or history, that could be the reason. This problem continues even if plugins are disabled in Firefox.
*Are you opening multiple instances of Flash Player ?
    * Is the problem reproducible ? <br/> for instance does it always crash the plugin or cause it to hang if you use a particular site ?
If you get the FlashPlayer plugin crashing use the option to submit the crash reports, it is then possible to follow them up. It is possible to stop the plugincontainer opening, but that could result in a firefox crash. Of course the firefox crash can also send crash reports out, and that could be useful.

There are some problems with FlashPlayer currently under investigation, and there may be other threads in the forum about problems. (e.g. Bug 561019 - Plugin waveOutOpen hangs )
Sometimes using Firefox 3.6 is a workaround that helps with FlashPlayer problems, if you wish to experiment with that consider installing firefox Portable and using Firefox 3.6.23 (or soon 3.6.24) for tests with flash player, whilst keeping firefox 7 for day to day browsing.

  • What Would Cause This to Happen to the Display?

My 1 year + old iPhone 5 has recently developed this slight green tint of about 2mm surrounding all four sides of the display. The tint is most obvious when there is a white background, which there are plenty of in iOS 7. The touch screen still works great, though the green tint is starting to annoy me a little. Anyone else have the same thing on their iPhone 5? And any idea of why this would happen? Many Thanks.

So, what is your technical support question for us, your fellow users?
If you truly believe it is a hardware issue, take it to Apple for evaluation.  Regardless of warranty, they will look at the device.  If it turns out to be a hardware issue, they will offer an Out of Warranty replacement, assuming the device has not been opened by someone other than Apple.

  • Firefox seems to have lost all of June's history, it has today's, yesterday's and May's history; What could cause this to happen?

I have not used a disk cleaning service or any program of the sort. The history wasn't knowingly deleted and it was present the other day.
The history window shows information for today, yesterday, and may, but nothing more.

  • After a PRAM reset my MBP 1,1 display is split into 4 parts each displaying the same image. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

After resetting the PRAM/NVRAM (control, option, P, R) on my Macbook Pro 1,1 (2007) running 10.6.8 The screen is now split into 4 parts, each displaying the same thing. The screen immediately appears this way at the first grey screen, however if I do another NVRAM reset, upon restart after the second startup chime, the screen is normal but once it gets to a certain point around thetime the cog stops spinning, the screen flickers, turns blue and splits into four again.
Another thing is when I tried using the Apple Hardware Test I couldn't read the instructions as the resolution was too small, but once I restarted and change my display resolution in System Preferences, the resolution was readable in AHT. I assumed the System Settings were loading when the OS had booted and that AHT runs without any of these settings (if that makes sense?)
I've not used any third party utilites and everything working fine except for some battery issues which are gone now (the reason I tried the PRAM reset)
Any help would be much appreciated

  • When I close out Firefox, it arears to close. It returnes me to Desktop; however, it does not close. It keeps running, and because of this, I cannot open it up again without opening the Task Manager and ending the process first. What is causing this?

Firefox works fine except for the hicup of not shutting down. If you don't know what is happening, you won't know why it won't open up.

Most websites I try to save will NOT save as a bookmark...not sure why? Some sites will work while others will not

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

  • When I launch Aurora I always get a too much recursion error, what would cause this?

Aurora has latest update (seems it updates a lot)

A lot of the errors (especially if they're warnings) are normal (many websites have some IE-specific code and some of that code generates warnings). The simplest way to see if there are errors on the current page is to click "Clear" in the error console and then reload the page.
Also, errors (and less-often warnings) can come from extensions so you may see errors even if they're not related to the current page.
    * You can also use the "Tools > Web Developer > Web Console" (Shift+Cmd+K) to check for error on the current tab.

  • Since I installed Firefox I have not been able to send emails from aol. What is causing this problem and how do I fix it?

Whether I am responding to an email or composing a new one I have not been able to consistently send emails since I downloaded FF. Once or twice I managed to send one but do not know why they went through since typically do not get past the technical problem message. The error always says there is a technical problem but does not specify the actual problem.
