I am new to Mac and I have a Mini 2,1 Intel Core 2 Duo
It was working great then I was away for four months when I returned I don't know what happened a month later [a] I lost internet connection. When I checked in the Network Preferences it says "Ethernet" not connected, even though the cable is connected and works well when I use it on my PC
[b] the speed has dropped I now go for a cup of tea for it to load any program or file
[c] It invariably hangs up with the color wheel going on and on and on.
[d] do Mac's have any restore systems like PCs' or system recover?
I did not find help in the FAQ so I am reaching out to the Mac family for help. By the way I am in India and BSNL BB is my service provider.
Sincerely apprecaite any help I can get to learn to use and love a Mac!

I have asked the Hosts to move it to Snow Leopard (you should not lose contact with it through any email links you get)
I also don't do Wirelss printing so I can't actaully help either.

I guess you're talking about iCloud? Yes if you can see two devices it would appear that someone else can get into your account. Best change your password.

I have a DROID MINI and have dropped it into water. Does the "rice" trick help with this phone or do I have to just look into buying a new one? Please help ASAP.

Oh no this is not good jbirdphan! We want to ensure you have a working phone. With the phone falling into water, it's now considered water damage. Do you carry insurance on the device? If so, you may file an insurance claim to replace your device. In addition, you may also check to see if you are eligible to upgrade to a new phone. I want to make 4x6 study notecard/flashcards, how do I change the page size to fit the cards I need, I want them to print on a standard size paper, but keep the text in a 4x6 margin, new to mac please help!!

The Idea is to set my paper size and page layout to a pre-screened 4x6 layout, which I can add and insert txt/pictures, when I need to print, I should be able to fit 2 per page, if not that's okay, but when I print them I will cut off the excess paper and glue the rest to a notecard, any ideas, NEW TO MAC PAgES

Star with:
Menu > File > New from Template Chooser > Sidebar > Page Layout > Blank > Blank Canvas
If you need to have two cards on one page then just set up one using text boxes and images to the 4 x 6 (inches?), group them and option shift drag a second copy down the page so you then have 2 and alter the copy as you need.
Change the text and images to placeholders, capture those as a Layout and then save that as a template.

1. To make the individual card follow the instructions for Labels & Business cards but use your size:

My Ipod won't show up on Itunes and tells me that it is either not responding or disconnected

It started right after I upgraded both Itunes and my Ipod touch. The sync tab no longer appears in itunes and when I run a diagnostic, it does not seem to find the ipod. I've restarted the ipod, the apple and ipod service on the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes twice, and tried using a different computer to check to see if it is the cable itself but nothing seems to be helping!

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components

paying special attention to item #5
- New cable and different USB port.( You said "different computer to check to see if it is the cable itself " but I do not understand what a new computer has to do with the cable)
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

I have seen a lot of cases like your issue, and it's easy to solve.
First, open Disk Utility, select Macintosh HD in the sidebar and repair permissions. Sometimes, a permission can be damaged and it makes that an application doesn't work properly.
If that doesn't work, open Finder, select Go menu > Go to Folder, type ~/Library/Prefereces, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist" and restart

- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers

- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.

YouTube is no longer native in iOS. There are loads of posts on this, so the search bar can be your friend. There is a YouTube app in the App Store. Download it and you'll have YouTube.
You can NOT get rid of Passbook. It is a new Apple Native App and is built into the iOS. If you don't like it, you can put in a folder or on another page, but you can't delete anything Native.

I discovered a simple work-around that is successful (at this point in time anyways) on my IMAC/Maverick when sending attachments (not inline or embedded) to PC users.
There are several threads in here on why attachments embed in mac mail when sending to PCs, and I have had similar issues. Not sure where the fault lies, but other than purchasing an additional program to make mac mail work as other mail programs work when it comes to attachments, I found no real solution that worked for my business PC folks. I did all the right things - sent my attachments in mac mail "windows friendly," "plain text," and "attachments at the end" and still got complaints when sending to my pc workmates using Outlook. I tried another suggestion I found here - zipping the files and sending the zipped file, but my workmates did not like that either and still asked why?
By trial and error I discovered that when I attach any pdf to the email as well as the questionable jpgs, the attachments arrive in their PC inbox as attachments that can be used as needed. I don't know why this works, but it has made sending attachments a happier task for my business group.
I would be interested to see if this works for others.

Try some basic troubleshooting.
