My Microsoft Word gives me an error report as soon as I try to open Word Document

I have the Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 and I've had it for almost 3 years now. I didn't have any problems until I decided to update it since I haven't done so when I installed Microsoft on my Macbook pro. After about 3 or 4 updates I started having difficulties when it suddenly gives me an error once I tried creating a new document that says: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." and underneath it says More Information so I clicked on it and this is what it gave me:

I clicked on check for updates just in case I missed any, but it says there's no updates available. Also, I restarted my computer twice and it still doesn't work. Did the updates messed it up? I really need to fix this problem soon because I'm going to need Word for school. Please and thank you!
Edit: I'll be moving this question over the other forum, but can anyone at least solve this problem for me here?

Error code -50 when certain users try to open a document

Got a 17" G5 iMac serving a lab of 14 eMacs. A few users have been having problems accessing items in their home folders. When they try to open a certain recently created document, they get an error message with the code -50. I have identified this as a user parameter list error, but I don't know how to go about correcting it. I have two user groups, and all users and machines in question have the same permissions. I have checked the ownership on affected files--no problem with permissions.

I can open other pdf documents that were scanned then saved to microsoft word. I can't open those in my scanned file.
When I open acrobat reader, I get the same message. I downloade adobe acrobat reader XI to see if that would help and it doesn't I get the same message.

I've checked my current plugins and it still shows Adobe Acrobat Version 7 for Netscape (7.0.9.50) I tried to do the update but I got an error - "Please tell Microsoft about this problem" "Send Error Report/ Don't Send".

Microsoft word documents and removing policy.

Can DocumentManger class can be used to remove security policy from secured Microsfot word docuemnts.
Or protable protection library is the only way to deal with Microsoft word documents?
I want my application to remove the strip off all security information from the document and re insert the same again at a later point.

Event if I try with user who can access document after connecting to LiveCycle ES2 from Microsoft Word 2007 I am getting same exception.
I can acess document from MS Word after I have secured it using all users who have right permission for document but from java client I am not able to do that. Looks like RMS information is not embedded properly in my document.

Pages problem opening up a Microsoft Word document??!!!

Hi all,
I have just purchased iWork'08 and I have a question about Pages. I do not know anything about Office programs, apart from how to write basic letters in Word! I decided to go with iWork'08 as I love Apple and wanted to give Apple's office suite a try.
As I have said previously, I don't know anything about Pages. My problem is that I have a Resume in the .DOC format, which I created previously in Microsoft Word years ago when I was a Windows user. I have not had any problems with it though, even when I moved to Mac, because I was using NeoOffice. Now though, when I am using Pages, once I open up my Resume, I get a message from Pages telling me the following: Some Problems Occurred, Type: Import Warning, Description: Document backgrounds aren't supported and were removed.
This information appears in it's own box when I open the document up and indeed, the document is not formatted as it is supposed to, as it is in Microsoft Word or NeoOffice. Why is this, what is going on and most importantly, how do I make Pages just show the document as it supposed to be shown??? I was told it was compatible with Microsoft Word documents, but it is not doing a good job with them so far!!! Please help!!

Tables! Why did it have to be tables? (Excuse me for channeling Indiana Jones there.)
I've had some luck with fixing imported table formatting in Pages by first making the borders and inside dividers visible. Select a table after opening the inspector and selecting the tables tab. Find the Cell Borders buttons and select each one, then click on the pop-up button below and select the Thin line. Do this for each table.
Now that you can see the lines and the text inside each cell you can begin cleaning up. There will likely be 2 problems: vertical cell borders won't align down the page and some text will be too big to fit inside. You may also find that not all the tables align to the left side of the page
Step 0: if the tables don't align to the left side of the page, fix that
Step 1: reduce the text size - you may have to choose a new font
Step 2: align the vertical borders

If it's because you were using Office 2004, the eight year old version of Office that was written when Intel processors were not used in Macs, then there will be no fix. Lion dropped support for PowerPC applications, as has been widely reported since Lion's release last August.
You can upgrade Office 2004 to Office 2008 or Office 2011. You can use iWorks 2009 that can open Microsoft files. You can use a number of free applications that are also capable of working with Microsoft documents. You can go back to Snow Leopard, if you have a backup. Or, if you have an external drive or room to add a partition to your current drive, you can install Snow Leopard on it.
Search these forums for more information. If this is your issue, it's been posted and answered several times a day since August 2011.

Microsoft Word Document Text Highlighting

Hi,
I am using a servlet to open a Microsoft Word Document for viewing of the user. This works fine. The dialog box appears asking the user whether he wants to Save or Open the document. He can choose any and in the latter case the documents opens in a new window also.
The problem is that I want to highlight one paragraph in the text of this Word document when it opens. I have not been able to find any way to achieve this. If someone can help me in this I would be really thankful. Is there really a way to highlight the text of a file on runtime through code???????

The POI you downloaded has support for Word and Excel documents. Apparently if you have CVS there are classes for PowerPoint files as well in the scratchpad area:

HP Laserjet PRO MFP125nw doesn't print Microsoft Word documents from PC

Hello.
I've recently bought a brand new HP Laserjet PRO MFP125nw printer. The functions seemed really nice and the price was acceptable. I've brought it to my home, installed it following the manual, connected it to Wi-Fi etc. It generally works fairly well. PDF files are printed perfectly well, the scaning function works and it's generally a nice piece of technology.
The only problem is that it just doesn't want to pring Microsoft Word documents from my PC. It prints it perfectly when I try to print .docx from my smartphone using the app, but it doesn't respond when I try doing it from the PC.
My Office version is 2007 Enterprise. Do you have any idea what I should do?

I'll try plugging it into the wall and directly to the PC with a USB, we'll see if it works out.
About Word, i've already tried reinstalling Word, even installed a 2003 version to check if it works with that. Well it doesn't. And as i've written before, I tried turning some .docx files to .pdf using a converter, but it still doesn't print them.

How can I change a Microsoft Word document file into a picture or jpeg file? I am wanting to make the image I created my background on my macbook pro.

After I had the document image the way I wanted it, I saved it as a web page and went from there. Below are the steps starting after I did the "save as" option in Word:
1) Select "Save As Web Page". I changed the location from documents to pictures when the window came up to save it as a web page.
2) Go to "Finder" on you main screen, or if it's on your main toolbar at the bottom.
3) Click on the "Pictures" tab and find the file you just re-saved as a web page. (I included "web page" or something similar in the new title so I could easily find the correct file I was looking for)
4) Open the correct file and then "right click" on the actual image. (Use 2 fingers to do so on a Mac)
5) Select 'Use Image As Desktop Picture", and voilà! The personally created image, or whatever it is that you wanted, is now your background.
**One problem I encountered while doing this is that the image would show up like it was right-aligned in relation to the whole screen. The only way I could figure how to fix this was to go back to the very original document in Word, (the one before it was saved as a web page), and move everything over to the left.
I hope this helps someone else who was as frustrated as I was with something that I thought would have been very simple to do! If you have any tips or suggestions of your own, please feel free to share. : )
