My N97 has been..

My N97 has been sent to my local nokia care centre, I turned it off since I thought I should restart my phone, just a casual restart nothing more to it, but then I tried turning it on again and BAM The Nokia logo appeared and was there to stay, I took out the battery and did EVERYTHING that has been posted in this forum but with no avail, so I had no option left but to send it to the Nokia care centre, in 5 days or so hopefully my phone will be back and better than ever..I also told them to check every little thing from A to Z..even though it was already an amazing phone I just want them to tweak everything and make it as close to PERFECT as possible; Also, An employee there said they were going to try and fix it by reinstalling the software update by Flashing it or something of that sort, and not through the internet method, and if it doesn't work..It goes to Level 3..which is where they check out the hardware and stuff, so I'm just wondering will i get an enhanced phone after the whole "Flashing process", or will it be the same?  Hahaha..this is the first time I actually enjoy sending a phone over there..so yeah that's all.
Though..the only sad part is that they're going to format the phone..lol oh well, it's fun to do it all again I guess.

Solved!
Go to Solution.

Flashing a phone at an NCC isn't any more special than doing it at home. It's more powerful and a lot less likely to fail, but it won't add any special features or anything, they're installing the exact same firmware available to you (unless clearly stated in the repair comments). The only kind of tweaking they may do is energy calibration which might increase your battery life, but that's about it!
As to your mass memory, generally NCC's will not format it unless it could have corrupt data or if the firmware updater does this itself.
Hope this helps you buddy

After updating my Phone yesterday I found out today that nokia have removed V31.0.014 and reverted back to V30.0.015. I know I cannot go back to V30 now. I'll just have to wait for it to be re-released.

  • Message: "The database structure has been modified" every time I log to SAP

    Hello,
"The database structure has been modified. In order to resume this process, all open windows will be closed". Every time I log to one of my companies in SAP Business One this message appears.
I haven't installed any new addons and made no changes in database structure (and any other user hasn't done any changes), but this message appears always when I log to company for the first time (when I try to log on another user or log to another company there is no message). Can anyone help me with this problem?
    Best regards

  • Mid-2009 MBP Has Been Hard Freezing, I think it may be the SSD or software?

Please read this fully so you don't end up suggesting something I've already tried.
I have the Mid-2009 version of the 13" MBP that I received in December 2009. Almost two years ago, I upgraded it to8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Everything has been running smoothly until about 2 or so weeks ago. My computer has been having hard freezes, meaning, it's not simply an application freezing up; force quit doesn't work, the clock stops ticking, the whole system freezes. It was very predictable too. Whether i was watching youtube videos with flash, reading online articles without it (I have ad block) or doing something completely non-flash or web related, my computer would hard freeze after about an hour or two or so of use, requiring a hard reset (holding the power button until it turned off and then restarting).
I did some research on this and from what I initially found I thought it was problems with the motherboard. However, I found that to be odd because my motherboard was replaced by Apple in September 2012. I read somewhere to try a system hardware diagnostic test (press D upon start up). On the short hardware test, the one that only takes a few minutes, it passed without any problems. Then I tried the longer hardware test, the one that says takes more than an hour. I put that one on and left it alone. I came back every so often and checked on it and it was fine at first. The mouse responded and the test was showing some measurable progress. However I came back, and at 2 hours 11 minutes and 59 seconds into the hardware test, it froze without completing it.
Then I tried doing something everyone says to do when anything happens: I repaired disk permissions. I did that, and according to Disk utility everything went rather swimmingly. However, that didn't fix anything,in fact, it made things slightly worse. Ever since I reset disk permissions, everytime I open Safari, it freezes immediately, and that has only happened since I repaired disk permissions. My home page is about:blank, if anyone was wondering. I've only discovered this happening with Safari as of now. I switched Chrome as my primary web browser for now.
Being the resourceful person I am, I tried to isolate the problem. My sister, luckily, has an identical MBP. First, using target disk on my computer, I booted my SSD onto her computer - this is to see if the problem was HDD/SSD related or motherboard related. When I booted my SSD onto her computer the same problems occurred: Safari froze upon start up, and then computer would hard freeze after about two hours. However, when I booted her HDD onto my computer via target disk, there were no problems. Safari opened just fine and I used her computer for several hours without issue.
At this point, I was pretty sure it was the SSD, but I thought it was possibly a bad Sata cable or something. But nope. Last night, I switched harddrives completely. No target Disk. I put my SSD in her computer and put her HDD in my computer. I got the same results as target disk. It can't be the motherboard or memory, because both computers worked fine with my sisters harddrive. Only the computer booted off of the SSD would have these problems.
At this point I think it could be two possibilities
    A) Either the SSD itself is starting to become defective
    B) Some software component of my SSD is buggy
I think it could be something software related because why would Safari and safari only freeze after launch, but no other apps? Also something of note, these problems were happening, I tried to see if doing anything with software update would help, updated everything that needed to be updated, and these problems still occurred.
What do you guys think? anyone have an idea of what it could be? Any suggestions of how I handle this? Applecare is expired. I'm considering doing a clean install but I'm not fully backed up yet and I don't want to waste my time and have it not work. But I also don't want to buy a new hard drive or SSD and have it do the same things. And I'm not getting a new computer if the only problem with it is contained within the storage unit, whether that problem is within the software or hardware related.
Responses and suggestions would be highly appreciated, thanks.
EDIT: this information may be of interest: currently have 19.51 GB of available space (out of 256 GB). At one point, about a month and a half or so ago, my storage was as low as 9 or so GB free.
    I am running OSX 10.6.8

I have tried making a new user account like you suggested. It fixed the Safari problem; Safari opened and played video just fine. However, the computer still hard freezed after about 2 hours. I am about to back up my computer via time machine after this (hopefully it'll finish before it hard freezes again, I haven't backd up in more than a year). If that doesn't work, I guess I'll have to move folders individually onto an external. I will proceed after backup with a clean install as that is my only other option for now.
However, after a clean install, should I restore directly from time machine? I would think wiping the hard drive and replacing it with what's on time machine wouldn't solve the problem because the inherent corruption is being restored. However, what about just restoring my User folder? What would the process be for getting everything back to normal as quickly as possible? Do you know of any good ways to get my apps and other preferences back to normal ASAP without corrupting anything? Will I have to re-register anything? For example, I have Adobe CS4 that I received from my highschool IT department. I have since graduated, so I don't have the disc or any of the password codes. Would it be risky to restore the application support folder (because that's where the bug may lie)? Or if I just drag just drag apps, would that still work or is the application support necessary too?

Is there any way to get a log of the bluetooth devices my Iphone has been connected to?  I recenly had my Bluetooth Jabra stolen from my car and now a simliar one is on Craigslist.  I'd like to give my connection log to the police before I go and see if my Iphone recognizes the device in question.  Any way to get any type of bluetooth device connection log out of my iphone?

Your contacts should still be on whatever program you sync your iphone to (i.e. Outlook, address book).
The iphone is not a stand alone device. It is designed to be synced with a computer. If you have not been syncing with a compatible program, then you are out of luck. Your contacts are not included in the back-up because it is meant to be synced with your computer.

  • Can I view a list of tasks that my computer has been up to?

    The facts:
My computer: 15" i7 MacBook Pro, 500 GB HD, 4 GB RAM, OSX 10.6.6
Problem: I recently had an external hard drive "fail" overnight (WD Elements 2 TB, USB 2.0.) The hard drive had approximately 1.5 TB of my files on it. It was formatted to Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) and named "Deuce."
Symptom: The drive now mounts but is labeled "Untitled." It shows being formatted as Mac OSX Extended (Journaled), but has no files on it whatsoever. Sometimes the HD will not mount at all.
Possible culprit #1: My girlfriend was up late and noticed the power flicker on and off (causing the microwave clock to be reset.) The hard drive and laptop were plugged into a brand new surge suppressor/power strip.
Possible culprit #2: This hard drive has been known to be unreliable (failure.)
Possible culprit #3: Somehow there is a virus on my computer (have Sophos installed, updated, no viruses show on scan.)
Possible culprit #4: My girlfriend did something to the drive (format, delete all files, unplug w/o ejecting, etc.) and will never tell me if she did.
    Possible culprit #5: Gremlins?
    Troubleshooting:
#1: Have run Disk Utility, which reports the disk is fine.
#2: Have run quick scans from 3 third-party data recovery softwares (VirtualLabs Data Recovery, Data Rescue 3, R-Studio.) None report problems with the disk, nor do they show any files.
#3: Am currently running a deep scan with Data Rescue 3 in Demo mode - $99 to buy full version - (60 hours left.)
#4: Have switched out USB cable. No change.
#5: Have plugged HD directly into wall socket. No change.
#6: Have taken HD to Best Buy Geek Squad, who could not get HD to mount on their computer. Confidence in their technical abilities: 30%.
    My questions:
#1: Is there a way to find out what tasks have happened on my computer within the last week? Does the computer even keep track of this (like Adobe Photoshop will keep a history, you can hit CMD+Z to undo, etc.?) I want to know if I can eliminate user error from the list of suspects.
#2: Is there another software for Mac that will run a thorough diagnostic of this HD to see what is wrong with it? WD only offers Data Lifeguard for PC (which I will never own again but I suppose I could locate one to help troubleshoot the HD.)
#3: Has anyone experienced this issue with an external HD before?
#4: Is there any information I can give that would help the wise men and women of the forum to help me solve this and get my photos back (some are backed up, but not all.)
    Lessons learned:
#1: Replacement drive was more solid Seagate drive.
#2: Remaning drives are password protected.
#3: Backing up to DVD all current files on my current 2 External HD, as well as Time Machine backups for internal HD (which has just given me this error on Tech Tool Deluxe:
    Drive Hardware
    Failed
Checks the physical attributes of the device containing the selected volume.
You should consider backing up the data from the device associated with the selected volume. The device may continue working without issue for a period of time, but may physically fail without warning.
If anyone has any helpful advice, please...I would really appreciate it.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.
Here's an example of what I mean:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other%20World%20Computing/MEP924FW8E2O/
I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.
    Good luck!

    Dear all,
sorry for opening another thread on this.
I think I have a performance issue with workflows attached to document sets in SharePoint. And I say “I think” because people keep telling me that this is the way it just is.
The user creates a new document set, which triggers a workflow in which the user has to confirm/review/approve a series of tasks. The time it takes from clicking the OK button on those task form to the workflow status moving to the next step is about 4 seconds.
And visiting that status page within those 4 seconds brings up the infamous “Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.” message.
Hitting Refresh in the browser after those 4 seconds will make the new workflow status appear and the red text go away.
Is that normal? Is that the performance that everyone else is seeing as well?
I struggle to see why simply moving a workflow from one task to another should take that on a machine that isn’t doing anything else at the time.
    (1)
I have a standalone (non-clustered) SharePoint box, 4 CPUs, 8 GB of memory, more than half of that available, acting as application server and wfe; only the database is on different box.
    (2)
The CPU only goes up to 18 or 19%, so CPU does not seem to be the bottleneck. Half the RAM is also still free.
    (3)
The workflow is designed with Nintex, and has about 9 flexi and review tasks – the last 2 of them in a loop iterating over typically 3 or 4 items.
    (4)
Looking at the logs it looks like the processing in Nintex only takes about 1 second – I don’t know where the other 3 seconds are going.
    (5)
There is nothing obvious in the logs.
    (6)
We’ve looked at all the “theoretical” improvements around throttling and batch sizes etc. – none of them appeared make any difference. And the workflow is so small that it looks like my tasks gets executed straight away. The problem appears
to be that the execution takes too long(?) and therefore has not finished by the time the page get redrawn.
    (7)
I am running perfmon and I can e.g. see one(!) workflow being loaded into memory – as expected as I am the only user.
    (8)
I am seeing a total of 3(?) SQL queries being executed(?). I get the Bytes Sent/sec spiking at 25K, and Bytes received at 18K. But is this good or bad or a bottleneck?
Where do I take it from here?
I have been told that “[…] most customers have no issue with this as they are used to the way SP operates and it can be slow at times.” Is it really that bad?
If it is worth watching more performance counters then I’d need to know what to compare them to.
Is there something else I am missing?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi,
Before considering an additional hardware try to change following configurations for workflow:
    Increase Throttle Size
    Increase Batch Size
    Time Out
    Workflow Timer Interval
    AutoCleanUpDays
    Increase Throttle Size
The Workflow throttle setting controls how many Workflows can be processing at any one time on the entire server farm. By increasing the throttle it will allow the number of Workflows execution or can be initiated at a time.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Throttle Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowPostponeThreshold
Use below PowerShell command to set new Throttle Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowPostponeThreshold 100
    Increase Batch Size
This is the size that determines number of events processed for a single Workflow instance. Default value is 100, but it can be range from 1 to any number.
Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowBatchSize
Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowBatchSize 200
    Time Out
This decides the time out of the Workflow event. The default value is 5 and can be any integer. The time is in minute.
Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout
Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout -pv “15″
    Workflow Timer Interval
This setting is applicable at Web Application level and not the farm level. The workflow timer interval specifies how often the workflow SPTimer job fires to process pending workflow tasks. This interval also represents the granularity of delay timers within
your workflow. If a timer is set to delay for one minute, but the interval timer fires only every five minutes, the workflow delays for five minutes, not one minute.
Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn job-workflow -url <Web Application Url>
Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn job-workflow -pv “Every 10 minutes between 0 and 30″ -url <Web Application Url>

  • Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.

I have SharePoint 2010 Enterprise running SP1. Configuration is one SharePoint server in the farm and a SQL 2008 R2 database for the backend. Our user environment is 80 users with very little load on the SharePoint server. I have the workflow timer
    set to 1 minute.
I have a SPD workflow that starts manually on a form library. Whenever I publish a new version of the workflow, the next time I start the workflow it takes the full minute to finish. If I click on the workflow status before it finishes, I see the message
"Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will
attempt to resume at a later time.". After the minute completes the workflow finishes.
Here's the weird thing, the next time I start the workflow, it runs in a couple of seconds - almost instantly. I've tried up to 15 times after the inital publishing and everything seems to work fine on initiation.
Well, that would be fine for me, however, I intermintantly get this heavy load message during task processes that are running inside the workflow. It's probably less than 5% of the time. It's really frustrating though so I appreciate some help. I'm look
online and haven't found anything that describes my situation.
    Thank you in advance!

  • Can I see how many times a shared album has been viewed?

I primarily use Revel to share photos of events since the files get too big to email more than 2 at a time.  Usually, there is a very limited group of people that would be interested but the link to one album was shared on Facebook and I'm curious to see if many people viewed that album.  Is there a way to see how many times the album has been viewed?

  • Error message: ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled

I use a NI PCIe 1433 framegrabber with a Basler spl4096-140km line camera.
Using triggered acqusition with an external source, I can get a framerate of 68500Hz in NI-MAX.
When I use the Matlab image acquisiton toolbox to acquire data, I however very often get the error message: 'ni: A frame has been dropped and the acqusition has been canceled". This happens even at much lower framerates (20kHz) and only seems to go away when acquiring data slowly.
Computer is a Dell Precision 7600 and I assume there should be no issues with RAM or the PC being slow. The error does not go away when reducing the data size (i.e. reducing the ROI to one single point that is readout).
Do you have any pointers why this error message appears and what can be done about it?
    Thank you!
    Reto

    Hello,
I encountered the same problem and I think it is because the allowcation of storage in matlab cannot catch up with that of the camera so that it will drop frames when the buffer is full.
I also want to know how to solve that.

  • After rebooting my Windows Vista 64 bit system, could not access iTunes; after uninstalling I tried reinstalling, but it has been running for more than 24 hrs. Should I cancel installation?

I had been updating my Windows Vista 64 bit system and as a result of a problem, had to reboot my system. Afterwards, I was no longer able to access iTunes.  I got a message stating that there was a problem with some of the files associated with the application.  A phone rep at Apple's Customer Service provided me with emails linking instructions on completely uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes. I did the uninstall, then checked for lingering iTunes files and couldn't completely remove some, but tried intalling the latest version of iTunes. It has been running for roughly 24 hours.  The status bar is green all the way across, and when I try to cancel, I get the following message: "Are you sure you want to cancel iTunes installation?"  I keep hitting "no," but am staring to wonder if there is a problem with the install.  Should it take this long if I have roughly 134 gigs of music?  I can still see the music in my computer's C drive, so I am worried that there is an error, perhpas because I didn't clear out all the lingering C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\ and all the lingering C:\Program Files\iTunes\.  Any thoughts?

It is not just the HP. I have 3 HP computes and 2 Dell computers. 2 of the HP and 1 Dell suffer the iTunes internet block. Took me a while to figure it out also. But, the one thing that is different on the Dell, is that I can leave iTunes installed and not open it and everything works. As soon as I open it, internet access goes down. BUT secure sites (https:) works fine.

I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!

What happens when the iPod is plugged in?  anything?  any errors?
Why is 50GB of music gone?  All music should exist on the computer.  Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on.
