My new blue iPod touch 5g won't charge. My computer won't even recognize it. Should I buy a new cable or is something wrong with the iPod touch 5g.

Also when I click the home button to turn it on and try to click the camera it won't work.

Likely the cable. Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If defective Apple will replace the cable/iPod.

  • Well i have an ipod touch 4 generation but yesterday y respring it and it is something wrong with the ipod because it only appears the apple waht can i do?

I will thank a lot the person who can solve my problem
    pleas thakns!!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My iPod 5gen, 16GB won't charge. I have gone through 3 chargers already. I am now thing there is something wrong with my iPod.? Can someone please help me.

If lint is the problem, take a clean dry toothbrush and carefully clean the iPhone charging port.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks?
Does the iOS device see the network?
    Any error messages?
Try right next to the router
    Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Could it be this?
iOS: Wi-Fi or Bluetooth settings grayed out or dim
One user reported that placing the iPod in the freezer fixed the problem. A trick that works frequently with iPhones:
Settings > AirPlane Mode ON, Do Not Disturb ON
Power down and wait 5-10 minutes
    Power up
Settings > AirPlane Mode OFF, Do Not Disturb OFF
If not successful, an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is usually in order.

  • I synced. All my music disappeared. Now it will only sync my apps and not my music. Is something wrong with the port on my ipod, the USB cord, or Itunes? On Itunes it says I still have all my music. :(

I synced my ipod to my computer and all my music disappeared. I tryed resyncing it and it would only sync my apps and not my music. I cant add music to my ipod. I something wrong with the USB port in the IPOD, the USB Cord, or ITUNES itself. Itunes still shows that all my music is there on my ipod. Itunes is recognizing that my ipod is connected, but it doesnt recognize that theres no music on my ipod anymore. Im so sad. Someone please help me. I miss my music.

The music sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the selected content of your computer.
As the music came from your computer in the first place, it should still be there and in your backup copy of your computer.

  • TS1372 does anybody know what is wrong with the ipod when error 1437 is reported during the restore mode?

does anybody know what is wrong with the ipod when error 1437 is reportedduring the restore cycle?

Double check the connections on each end to make sure they are nice and snug. If possible, plug the Nano into another existing USB 2.0 port.
Also, with the iPod still connected, try resetting it. To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons (or the Volume Down and Sleep/Wake buttons on the 6G Nano) long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Then try restoring the iPod again.

Have you attempted an iTunes restore and setting up as a new device? Sometimes battery life issues can be caused by corrupted iOS software.

  • Is there something wrong with my iPod?

When I want to sync music on my iPod I need to let the battery die before I can do it otherwise it crashes and now on two occasions my iPod wouldn't turn on but when I put my earphones in I could hear a faint fuzzing noise. My battery wasn't dead because I'd just charged it up the night before and was fully charged. I have to let my battery die again so I can turn it on. And also a couple of times it crashes after I eject it from syncing music. Is there something wrong with my iPod or can it be fixed.

Sounds like there is something wrong, get it serviced.

  • Is there something wrong with the new update that keeps disconnecting my internet from my iPod touch 5g?

My home wifi has been disconnected from my iPod touch once again. It happened once yesterday morning and again this morning. After reattempting to connect again and again to the internet yesterday, it finally worked. But now I have the same problem.
I mean, my laptop has no internet connection issues whatsoever. So, I know it's not my internet's fault. And my iPod is practically brand new as well, so I'm assuming there's nothing wrong with it. Therefore, I'm not intending to bring it into the Apple store to have it checked out.
My last guess is that maybe it's some kind of glitch with the latest update? Are any other iPod touch 5g users who are experiencing the same problem?

You are not giving us enough information.  A singe move can easiy take more than one GB.  Ehne you click on the iPod under Devices in iTunes on the computer a colored bargraph will show the discribution of storage used on the iPod.  What does that show?  If the "other" category is greater than about 1 GB you can restore yu iPod, sometimes to factory defaults/new iPod is required, to get it to its normal of about 1/2 GB.

  • How can I tell if my iPod touch needs its battery replaced or if there is something wrong with the power connector?

About 3 weeks ago, I got pushed into a pool, fully clothed, with my iPod touch in my back pocket.  Miraculously, I was able to salvage it (or so I thought) by putting it for a couple of days in a dessicator jar and then recharging it.  It seemed all right until a few days ago, when it began having more difficulty being recognized as connected when I hooked it up to my MacBook Pro, my wall charger or my USB port in my car.  Last night it was working and I was able to play it in my car and to successfully sync it.  I surfed on it for awhile then forgot to plug it in before I went to bed.  The battery indicator was in the red when I woke up, so I connected it to my wall charger.  When I came back, it was right where it was - no charging, and moving it to a new outlet and changing cables did not help.  So, I tried hooking back up to my laptop, same thing.  I tried my husband's wall charger; still no connection.  I then tried hooking it up to the USB port in my car, but it sees no connection.  If it weren't for the fact that it got dunked, I'd assume that the battery needs replaced, but because of that, I fear it might be something more complicated.  Does anyone know if there is a way I can test this?  I'd hate to go get the battery replaced, only to discover that it still doesn't work.
    Thanks!

Apple does not replace your battery.  Instead it replaces your old iPod with a refurbished one (with a new battery).  When they see your iPod, the can tell that it had been in the water and will probably offer you an out-of-warranty repair ($99-$199).  If you want to take a chance on just replacing the battery, Google for a third party repair shop, but in that case, the risk is all yours.

  • My iPod touch is only holding about 20 apps and 16 songs and 3 movies and it says that it's space is full.  I thought I had at least 6gb of memory.  Is there something wrong with my iPod?

Just curious if anyone could help.  I bought my daughter an iPod for Christmas and it's only holding about 20 apps, 16 songs and 3 movies.  I deleted all of my pictures, so no pictures.  And it continues to say that I need to delete some items, b/c there basically isn't enough free space.  I thought the iPod touch, held alot more than that and that is the reason why I bought it.  Could anyone explain if this is normal or if this has happened to them.  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

  • What is wrong with the ipod touch 4th gen battery?

I have an 8gb 4th gen ipod touch that I purchased in December 2011. I charged it completely last night after doing a full reset, and by morning the battery was only at half charge. I've turned off all unnecessary services, no apps were running, no music/video play, just in sleep mode. Still the battery drained down at least 50%.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Have you found a way to extend the battery charge?

    Try this:
iPod: How to extend battery life
You did not say if the iPod was in airplane mode.  That helps a lot.  With iOD 5, the battery does drain faster than before.

  • TS3694 What does the error 3194 mean is wrong with the ipod?

Our ipod got splashed with water in the bathroom (8 year old brings it everywhere).  Now it doesn't work at all.  Plugged it into the computer and it says detect unknown ipod, in recovery mode - do we want to restore it.  I choose "restore & update" but it gives the error of 3194 and the apple site doesn't say any specifics about this error.  Is our ipod dead????  It is only just over a month old so we have the 1 year warranty.  If my son got it wet, will apple do anything for us.  Even if it isn't covered under the warranty, is it something that can be fixed or do we need to buy a new ipod?????
Any help in this, otherwise I am about to call the 800 number.  Any insite appreciated.

  • Iphone 4G troubles. Won't charge and computer won't recognize it.?

I plugged my Iphone4 into the USB and it will not connect to my charger or computer. Therefore it won't charge. I turned my phone off and it is showing that it needs to be charged but is not recognized by my computer and won't charge via wall charger. Yes, I have tried different cables and still no luck. If anyone has any great ideas to fix it, I would love to hear it so my phone can be fixed. Thanks.

I got this phone as a gift and I think the warranty is up. Since I didn't cause this problem would I be able to get a new phone or would I have to buy it? I need one because this is my only phone and need it back up ASAP for work and school. Thanks for your help.
