My screen has a blank section on the right hand side of the screen

since installing updates my screen has a blank section on the right hand side which remains on start up and operation

Hi @Graham1957
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that the display has a blank area on the right side, after some updates were performed. I am happy to help with this.
The quickest thing to try would be a system restore.  Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
Choose a restore point from before the problem started, and let me know if this makes any difference. If not, then please post the full product number and verify the operating system in use on your notebook. See the following documents if you need help in finding those.

Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
