My screen is backwards!!!!

If anyone has had this problem PLEASE let me know! Just about a year after I got my IPod mini (of course...) out of no where a black bar started scrolling down the screen...nothing showed up on the screen except that bar. I reset it and it seemed to be fine. Soon after that, it happened again...then the screen showed up backwards! The words and everything were backwards like a mirror image. When I reset it, it fixes it but very temporarily. When the battery is low it's almost impossible to fix. Of course apple wants to charge me over $220 to fix it!!! I could buy a whole new one if I trusted the thing would work. Anyone know what's going on with it? Or what I can do? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Restoring your iPod will reset it to the way it came to you brand new. It will erase your music from your iPod but NOT from iTunes. Once restored and acting correctly, you can resync all your music from iTunes back to your iPod.

Two Screen Issues.

I've had two issues recently with my Lombard.
1: The backlight occasionally flickers off on boot - makes a sort of hissing sound. If I wait until it gets to the login screen, then I can fix it by closing the display (putting the 'book to sleep), and then awakening it again. It's not that big of a nuisance - as I rarely reboot - but it'd be nice to get fixed. I have replaced the inverter board, but that's all.
2: The other night I was using it, and the hinges seemed to just give out. The screen fell backward, and the hinges haven't been able to hold it up since. I've had to tape a strip of paper going from the back of the display to the bottom of the Lombard to keep it from falling backward. Is there a way to tighten the hinges, or am I going to have to shell out the cash for new hinges? If the latter, how do I replace the hinges? Do I need to replace both, or can I make due with just replacing one?

Your flickering backlight may be related to the hinges. Both the display ribbon cable and the backlight ribbon cable pass through the hinges; worn or damaged cables may cause this problem.

Help! LEFT SIDE OF MACBOOK AIR SCREEN NOT WORKING

The left side of my screen has horizontal lines and static.It is about 1 1/2 inches in. It is constantly moving and the left side of the screen looks backwards in that section. The rest of my computer works fine, I just can't touch the left side. I have no clue what happened.

you have a faulty Air, ...if purchased within 14 days return for a new one.
Before doing same reset SMC
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
unlikely this will solve same.
Your logic board and/or monitor cable are defective (most certainly). If out of 14 days make appt. for repair/diagnostic.

Laptop screen not stable in upright position

When using the laptop on my Knee, the screen flops backwards and forwards at the slightest movement , quite disconcerting as I am constantly pulling the screen back to a position where the screen is legible or forwards to use the camera on video conferencing? Anybody solve this problem for me????

Can I use a macbook pro 2 screen with a macbook pro 3?

my girlfriends 2007 macbook pro 3 screen stopped working yesterday so we bought a 2006 macbook pro 2 off craigslist and found out that it wont run mavricks so I was wondering if the screens were backwards compatable, like if I use the screen from the 2 and put it on the 3?

You might look at iFixit.com and Powerbookmedic.com and see if the two different MBP displays have the same part number.

Pavilion dv5t-1200se Screen color

I have Pavilion dv5t-1200se laptop purchased in 2008. Till to date I do not have any problem or complaint with my laptop. It is working great. but, since a month I am facing the following problem.
At the first stage of staring the laptop ‘hp-logo’ and start-up password box come with Cyan color. (i.e. If I start the MS Word the word page comes with Cyan color). Actually it should be white, I do not understand why screen color becomes Cyan instead of White.
To get the original white color of screen, I have to struggle a lot. If I push the screen forward, backward many times, then only at a certain point it gets original screen color that is white. Once it’s get done it does not show any problem till I put off the laptop.
As soon as I put down the screen and again start the laptop it starts with cyan color and I have to struggle a lot to get white color that is original screen color.
I want to know what is the exact problem with my laptop screen? why it starts with cyan color. and after pushing the screen back or front it shows me original white color? what is solution for this problem?

Your computer screen shows a cyan color instead of the normal color, is that correct? I will be happy to help you.
It sounds possibly like an issue with maybe the screen panel cable, because you have to adjust it for the color to come back at times.
If possible there is normally a VGA connection on the side of the computer. Using a VGA cable you can hook that up to an external monitor and see if that same issue occurs. That will let you know there could be an issue with the video card.

Function module to retain data for a given period.

Hi all,
This is my requirement:
I have a selection screen on which a specific number of months is entered. Using the FM 'FI_PERIOD_DETERMINE' and passing the current date to it, I'll be fetching the current fiscal year and fiscal period. I got to retain the data maintained in a custom table for that many number of months as is specified on the selection screen starting backwards from the current fiscal period obtained after the FM call. And thereby deleting all the data maintained in the same table prior to it.
Is there any function module to do so..... If not, kindly let me know the procedure to follow in order to obtain this requirements

Won't Import (history of iMac problems as well)

My DV tapes now refuse to import to my iMovie project! Luckily, the export was available so I put the two scenes I had on there onto a DV tape to save before the project crashes or something.
I've checked the connections and everything is normal. I hook it up and put it on VCR mode and it says, "Camera connected" on the blue screen. I press play and the blue screen says, "Camera playing" and does nothing but sit there with that screen. I look on the view finder and the camera plays. THEN when I try to import, it simply ignores the command and does nothing. And all the buttons on the screen (Seek Backwards, Stop, Play, Pause, Seek Forwards) are starting to mess up as well. When I put the arrow over them certain ones actually disappear until I take the arrow off its spot. I have 133 GB on my Mac so I don't know what's going on here. Messed up?
There's a history though. I posted on here about another problem I had. I had slaved over many, many hours (about 10) on this same project and gotten finally 17-18 minutes edited on the computer. I was down to 88 GB at the time. Right on queue, everything becomes corrupted in the project. The audio is not only out of place but the pitch is off and there's weird scratchy sounds that come with it. It automatically saved that way, because I quit the program without saving, went back in. It was still that way. Shut down the computer. Looked. Same. Shut down again. Looked. Same.
What should my next move be? Should I get a repair dude or is it fixable myself you think? I'm no expert on the workings of the Macintosh, so heeeeelp meeeeee.

Yore back, you do not press play on your dvcorder skreen but on the small oval on your mac that say IMPORT! the dvcorder should start automaticly You won´t see anything on skreen during import.
Have you repaired and verified permissions? You should connect to internet and do a upgrade of software then do restart That should hopefully set allthings straight Your mac is a finetuned tool and needs softwareupdates to get rid of iMovie bugs, we are now on 4.10.7

Helix will not connect with keyboard and touch pad

This is kind of wierd. It's been doing this since I've owned it. I have a Thinkpad USB 3.0 port replicator. When I get to work, I used to turn the screen around backwards on the keyboard and plug it into the PR. That way all you could see was the screen. Now I have a tablet stand and I remove it from the keyboard and set it in the stand. The problem I'm having is that when I have it reversed on the keyboard OR off of the keyboard all together for a period of time (say, 30 minutes) and I re-attach it to the keyboard, I can't use the keyboard or trackpad unless I press the power button for 20 seconds and hard reset the tablet. It see's the battery and plays the audio that tells me it see's it, but the pad and keyboard are unresponsive. It's frustrating. A standard reboot/restart will not fix the problem. I have made sure my tablet and keyboard have the latest BIOS and firmware updates.

Embedded Controller Version - 1.21
It's frustrating to have to force a restart every single time I want to dock it after it's been off the keyboard for more than 20 minutes.

Macbook (white, circa 2008) display goes black

Just recently, the screen on my white Macbook circa 2008 suddenly goes black. I can see a dark image with ambient light but no key or key combination helps. I have discovered that when the screen in blackened out, if I tilt the screen either backward or forward, the screen comes back on. I have shut down and restarted but the screen remains black on startup. I have reset PRAM / NVRAM with no success. I thoought it might be related to heat but it has now happened when the machine is cold. I have turned off the automatic display dimming option in both battery and power modes. I replaced the hard disk because the old one failed but that was quite a while ago and the machine worked fine after. I am using Snow Leopard v10.6.8 with all available updates installed. I have resisted resetting SMC because that seem drastic to me. Does anyone know what could be going wrong and/or have a solution for me? Thanks much in advance.

·   You have set the Safety Time indicator in the material master record (MRP 2 View) to define whether the safety time is only to apply to independent requirements or to all requirements.
·    In the material master record (MRP 2 View), in the Safety Time/Actual Range of Coverage field, you have entered the number of workdays by which the requirements are to be brought forward.
·    If, in addition to this actual range of coverage, you also want to define a different number of workdays in certain periods or a safety time less than one day then, in Customizing for MRP in the activity Define Period Profile for Safety Time/Actual Range of Coverage you can define a period profile and assign it to the material in the material master record.

I am listening to embedded training files on the Quick Time player (I think). They cannot be copied to protect the information. You only have the option of listening. I used to be able to click on the Q in the audio strip and it would provide a diagonal arrow and this would allow me to expand the bar to a full screen. I then had the bar which would allow me to navigate in case I wanted to listen again or in case I wanted to move forward. After my upgrade, I can no longer expand the strip to a full screen with the adjuster. Now I have not chance to take a break in listening to these audios and most of them are at least an hour long. Thanks for your help.

I don't know if it's myself here Allen, but these look like marks relating to the LCD panel itself.
I've seen this on iBooks which have small marks. They are not dead pixels as such but darken spots cast in a very small line. When I've seen this before it's been due to pen pointers or object witch have been used to point at the screen. Normally people have used these object to touch the screen,which has left these very small marks.
It seem to be common on earlier iBook's and PowerBook, maybe due to the type of LCD panel they use.
I maybe wrong here, but thought it might be worth mentioning.

No, that is not normal. I guess you are trying to restore from the latest backup created by your old 3GS?

Why are the forward and backward buttons so close to the play/pause button on the lock screen?

The quickest way to control the playing of music or podcasts is on the lock screen after double tapping the button. The controls for forward, rewind and play/pause are way too close together. There seems to be no logical reason for having them so close when there is room on the screen. Is there a way of moving these buttons?
