A tip is avoid doing things that eat up battery power right after it has been charging. Charging any battery will naturally make the battery temperature go up, followed by activities that drain a battery like heavy internet browsing in combo can make the temperature get to the point where the fail safe kicks in to prevent an over heat.

Yes because that information is not located on the hard-drive of your new mac! If it is purchased content from the store, than this issue isn't as bad as it looks!

You also want to authorize your Apple ID account on the computer by following these instructions as well:

Basically this link explains to go to the top left corner of your screen where you will see file, edit, view etc! Click on Store in that section and click on authorize this computer, also you want to make sure that the computer will not automatically sync by going to iTunes in the top left corner, just to the right of the apple symbol if iTunes is selected, and go to prefrences, and here you will see back up! Right under the back-ups has an option explaining to prevent devices from automatically syncing which is good cause you may be able to transfer your purchases from there which will put your content into the computer, and if that happens than we don't lose anything

It sounds like you are trying to create a new icloud account, not just logging into an existing account. When you type in your Apple ID and get that error, it's because you are trying to create an account using the same ID that is already being used in another account.
Go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom of the screen. If you are logged in, press the Delete button, then try logging in with the existing ID.
As for pics, the most secure way is to connect ipod to PC with USB and look at the Photos tab for your device in iTunes. Using Photo Stream is another way, but it doesn't always work, depending on conditions.

When I did finally manage to get an i-Tunes shortcut on my desktop, the program wouldn’t open saying: “i-Tunes was not installed correctly. Please re-install i-Tunes. I can only use the phone for maybe 4 minutes before this message appears with a yellow warning triangle. (Iphone 4S)

The phone is not warm and after a couple of minutes it is useable again only to repeat the same message a few minutes later.
I've done a restore which made no difference.
Anyone have any ideas/similar problem?

If this is a new machine, you have 14 days to return the machine for an exchange or a full refund. Your trackpad should work out of the box and what you're seeing onscreen may very well be settings for the partially sighted.

I've had that happen once or twice in the summer while using the phone in the car for both navigation and streaming music (and it was on the seat in the sun). However, if you're having it happen regularly, you should take it back to the Apple Store.

My phone intermittently States that the temperature is too high and so needs to cool down!! Howeve, it feels cold and I am only able to shut it down to restart it. This only temporarily resolves the problem. This started when battery was replaced.
