My SIte Creation

Hi,
Receiving the following error on a new sharepoint deployment, any help would be greatly appreciated.

My Site creation failure for user 'HT\Custserve' for site url 'http://sharepoint-ht/my/personal/custserve'. The exception was: Microsoft.Office.Server.UserProfiles.PersonalSiteCreateException: A failure was encountered while attempting to create the site.

Mysites requires that Self Service Site Creation be enabled on the Web application, that the wildcard managed path exists/ and that the user has permissions to create a mysite.
By default all users have permission to create from within the User Profile Service Application, you should just double check that though, open up the service application and then check User Permissions, maybe there has been a decision to only allow mysites
to some staff.
Check the web app, sharepoint-ht under manage web applications and check the self service application settings are turned on.
also check the managed path, wildcard path exists
