Hi,
Receiving the following error on a new sharepoint deployment, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Mysites requires that Self Service Site Creation be enabled on the Web application, that the wildcard managed path exists/ and that the user has permissions to create a mysite.
By default all users have permission to create from within the User Profile Service Application, you should just double check that though, open up the service application and then check User Permissions, maybe there has been a decision to only allow mysites
to some staff.
Check the web app, sharepoint-ht under manage web applications and check the self service application settings are turned on.
also check the managed path, wildcard path exists

Custom SharePoint 2013 workflow activities in site template throw error on site creation
Hi all,
I have created a number of custom activities for SharePoint 2013 Workflows and I am using them on an Office 365 environment. The custom activities are packaged as a sandbox solution and deployed on my Office 365 site. Everything works as expected.
I have now created a site with all the functionality I need, including some Site and List workflows - all of them containing my custom activities. I saved the site as a template - including content - and the process was completed successfully.
My problem is that when I try to create a site based on that template, I get the following error:
Microsoft.Workflow.Client.ActivityNotFoundException: The activity named 'WorkflowXaml_66b9230b_823e_4783_82b8_daf481237847' from scope '/spo/d42a4487-9465-4347-9f2c-a2718e92fc02/74d0f9e7-fb35-493d-86fb-ab7aa27da7e0/c2e1bf45-cf67-4e13-9755-421cf92395f8'
was not found. HTTP headers received from the server - ActivityId: 0997496a-5a15-4b83-82eb-727881eefa67. NodeId: . Scope: . Client ActivityId : c82f6e9c-9f8f-808b-7679-f2c0f92a339d. ---> System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error
After a number of trials and errors, I am certain that this relates to my custom activities. i have already tested all of the following scenarios:
Delete the workflow with the custom actions: Site is created successfully.
Create a new workflow with no custom actions and save the site as a template:
Site is created successfully.
Save the site template including a workflow with my custom activities, but not including content:
Site is created successfully, but my workflow is not there.
Create a new custom workflow activities sandbox with one custom activity that just writes something to the history list - just to make sure that this is not related to any specific solution. Save the site as a template:
Site creation throws the same error.
Packaged my workflow (with my custom activities) as a wsp from SharePoint Designer and deployed it as a custom solution. Activated the feature in the target site. The workflow gets created and executing finally. Saved the site as template: Site
creation throws the same error.
Same as above, but without activating the feature in the target site: Site created successfully, workflow works fine after I activate the feature in the new site.
My custom activities feature is always enabled in the site I save as template - in all of the above scenarios.
I have tested all of the above scenarios both on SharePoint 2013 on-premise and Office 365. There is
a forum post regarding some inconsistencies in the wsp file, but unfortunately this is not my case. Am I doing something wrong? Are custom 2013 workflow activities not supported in site templates - which would not actually make any sense, as it would "break"
the fundamental concept of re-usability.
Any ideas/feedback/guidance?
Thanx in advanceHi,
I am facing the same issue. Kindly help me out if any of them have solved similar issue.
Your help would be appreciated.

Using Quota templates with Self Service Site Creation
I am having an issue with quota templates not getting assigned to site collections created with Self Service Site Creation.
I set up a quota template in 'Specify Quota Templates' and give it the name 'test'. I then go to self service site creation management and select the name 'test' from the 'Quota template to apply' dropdown. I then create a site using self service
site creation and when completed no template is applied to the new site collection. I am wondering if anybody has seen this or if not am I incorrect in what I am expecting, that is that all site created in that web application should have the quota template
applied that I selected in self-service site creation management

Steven AlbrechtHi Steven,
Please create a quota template named "Personal site" and apply in self service site creation page, then check again.

Any idea, Eventid for Subnet created\deleted in AD? Eventid for Site created\deleted in AD?
If you just want to know when those sites and subnets have been created, you can just look at their whenCreated attributes. If you want to track subnet and site creation in real time, you need to enable the audit.
Enabling the audit consists of two steps:
Enabling the audit of the category of your choice. If you are using the
old way to performing auditing, it is the category Audit directory service access. If you are using the
advanced auditing (available since Windows Server 2008 and higher versions, more granular) you have two options. The category DS Access/Audit Directory Service Access and/or DS
Access/Audit Directory Changes. The first one generate the same eventid for creation and deletion: 4662. The second one have an eventid for the creation: 5137 and one for the deletion: 5141
These audit settings need to be applied on the domain controllers therefore you can do that through a group policy link at the appropriate level.
You need to configure the
SACL of the resources you want to audit. And tell you want to catch child object creation and child object deletion. I believe this is already configured by default for the CN=Sites on the configuration partition, so just make sure and you should be good
to go
I would recommended to go for the advanced auditing, make sure you follow the steps mentioned on the links I provided. If there is already a policy in place, make sure you are not breaking anything :) -
Site Creation directly in PROD system
The standard way to create a new site in WB01 is in DEV and transport it through to PROD and move the customer via ALE.
Are there many customers out there who have experince in creation of the site in WB01 directly in Production environment. I know it's possible in WB01 but then the configuration for site is blocked. If all configuration data is proposed correctly from the site creation reference store it should be possible without opening the client for configuration.
Only problem is if ever any of the configuration changes for an existing site, we would have to open the productive system for configuration to do it.
Does anybody have experience creating stores directly in Production in WB01, is it a workable solution?Dear Rudy,
Yes...you can provided you copied properly from reference Sites.
Site master is vital organization unit in Retail business operation. So, entire IMG settings are depends upon this Site master. If Site master data not copied properly from reference Sites, cascading effect are enormous.
Therefore, I strongly suggest and recommend you to create Site master using transaction code WB01in Golder Master and then you can move (through ALE) to Development / Quality client for necessary testing.
After integration testing, again you can move to Production Client through ALE.

These new secondary sites are off of a new primary site in another region. In region 1, secondary site creation had no issues. I am unsure where to go from here. I have tried deleting the secondary sites and removing all installed applications
and running through creation again. I have also tried recreating with different site codes. Installation appears to complete successfully and I can see my sites in ADSIEdit. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.SECONDARY

We had a user report a site creation issue with their site. They had been able to create sites with no problem up to this point. But now, when attempting to crate a site they get an error "User can't be found". But if they create a blank site
I or a blank team workspace. The site creates without incident. Any idea? The permissions appear to be correct but they can't create anything but blank sites without receiving the error. Maybe check permissions to webparts and templates (Do you know where
I could do that)?Hi,
Did you mean create site collections in the CA?
Did the users have admin permission or other permission? You can use the admin account to check whether it works.
To narrow down the issue, you can use other web application to check whether it works.
Maybe the web application had been corrupted.
You can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

MySite Host Site Collection "Site Settings" Menu and sub-site creation
Seemingly by design, users are able to create sub-sites on the MySite Host site collection when the configuration instructions here are followed: Configure My Sites in
SharePoint Server 2013
To be a little clearer, as instructed, I've created and applied a subsite-creation user policy to the web application hosting the MySite host. Presumably, this enables sub-site creation in personal MySite site collections. Perfect.
Except... this also enables creation of subsites on the MySite host itself.
If a (non-administrative) user clicks the cog from the Newsfeed page, the scope is the MySite host.
The "site settings" link leads to the site settings of the MySite host.
There, in the "Sites Administration" section is "Sites and Workspaces".
...and there, is the option to create a new sub-site at https://my.contoso.net/. -_-
How might I avoid this undesirable state of affairs? I would like to give users the ability to create sub-sites in their own MySites, but not on the MySite host via the Newsfeed page. Is this possible?
I think I can. I think I can. This is definitely possible - So you enabled self-service site creation in Central Admin per the configuration instructions. Did you also create a user policy on the web application?
In my tenant non-admins do not have access to click site settings on the mysite host (They can click site contents, which redirects to the personal site collection). Also, they do have access to click site settings on the personal mysite site collection
though.

I did some testing and figured it out, I think. Mind you everything worked properly, users just had access I didn't want them to.
I did enable self-service site creation, and I created the user policy on the web application as per the instructions. I then discovered users had access to site settings on the Newsfeed page: https://my.contoso.com/default.aspx
The only site setting they had access to was subsite creation: https://my.contoso.com/_layouts/15/newsbweb.aspx , but I didn't want them to be able to create subsites on the host, just in their personal collections.
Deleting that user policy removed their access to subsite creation on the host, and still allowed self-service site creation, and the creation of subsites in personal collections, so the question now is:
Why are we being directed to create that user policy in the first place, when it doesn't appear to affect personal sites at all?
I think I can. I think I can. -
Limit my site creation by domain.
We have opened up access to our sharepoint environment (MOSS 2007) to users on another domain. Is it possible to only allow users on the original domain to create My Sites?
cheersYes you can do that.

To enable self-service site creation for the web application
Verify that you have the following administrative credentials:
To enable self-service site creation, you must be a member of the Farm Administrators group on the computer running the SharePoint Central Administration website.
In Central Administration, in the Application Management section, click
Manage Web applications.
On the Web Applications page, select the web application that you created to host My Sites.
On the Web Applications tab, in the Security group, click
Self-Service Site Creation.
In the Self-Service Site Creation Management dialog box, in
Site Collections, select On. Optionally, in Quota template to apply, select a quota template.
In Start a Site, choose one of the following options:
Prompt users to create a team site under so users can create team sites from their My Site to use site feeds.
Be hidden from users if you do not want users to create team sites from their My Sites to use site feeds.
Click OK to finish. -
Hi all, I'm sure this is something someone has experienced before but I'm struggling to solve a problem I have with Personal Site Creation. This was working absolutely fine when the farm was initially built but stopped some time around the introduction of
a "branding" solution that relied on feature stapling - I have now retracted that solution and stapling to get back to normal but the issue persists.
Ultimately, the issue centres around the simple fact that a users' My Site is never created. Their User Profile shows SPSITEERROR and capabilities of "0" and never resolves itself. I have of course attempted to delete the SPSITEERROR entry and
increase the capabilities value to 14 but this has had no effect.
After doing this, monitoring the ULS logs shows what I expect to be the normal activity of site creation but ultimately results in an error as shown below. Lines 2 and 3 seem to be the most pertinent.
The user does not currently have a My Site, so there is no conflict and nothing to delete or remove. It isn't a problem with the User Profile Sync service since that is synchronising and updating profiles as expected. There is a root site collection (as
mentioned, My Site creation worked fine when the farm was built and for a while afterward) so it isn't that either. I have attempted to manually start the My Site instantiation jobs but this didn't resolve and they aren't stuck. I have also removed and re-created
the My Site instantiation jobs for the web application without effect. I'm unable to resolve this issue seemingly without further assistance. Thanks for the reply Rahul. As mentioned, the users' personal site url all state SPSITEERROR. I have removed this manually and tried again but it re-appears.
Having looked through the timer jobs using the following PowerShell, none have failed with an error.
$Wa = Get-SPWebApplication "http://webapp.domain.tld"
$Wa.JobHistoryEntries | Where-Object {$_.Status -ne "Succeeded"}
Thanks

Noob needs help with site creation -- interactive?
I want to make a site where people can post and/or reply to other posts.
I've used iWeb for a couple years so I'm good with "static" sites but how can I make one where people can post to the site themselves?
For example, I write ::"what is your favorite rum when making a hurricane":: and a list of users/responses follows?
Is that even possible?
I'm using iWeb '09.
Thanks,
JayJay ~ Welcome to the discussions. You could link to a free forum you've set up here:
http://www.lefora.com
And to link to an external forum from iWeb's navigation bar:
Link it to a blank internal page titled "Forum" (actually you can name the page whatever you want.) Then in that Forum page add an HTML Snippet with the following code:
<script type="text/javascript">
parent.window.location = "http://www.yourforumname.lefora.com"; // change this to your own URL
</script>
...Once published, clicking on the Forum page in the navbar will immediately redirect to your external Forum page. (Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code).
Ning, the free "social networking" site, includes a forum:

Hi,
I am using SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with the March CU.
I created a project site template with libraries, lists and workflows and saved it as a template with content. When I try to create a new site using this template, I get the error pasted at the bottom.
I was using SharePoint designer workflow custom activities created in VS2012. I uninstalled those and decided to call a web service directly from SharePoint designer. The workflows work fine inside of the site which I want to create a project template
from. When creating a new site from the template, SharePoint complains about a missing workflow XAML feature.
Do I have some leftover references to the custom features? Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

For your error, It could possibly have something to do with that the workflow did not publish before saving your project site as a template.
The "Elements.xml" file, which is packaged within the "wsp" solution file contains 2 "<File" elements. One file element represents the XAML file, and the other
represents the WF association file. If the WSPublishState value for each "<File" element differ (one has a value of "3" and the other a value of "1"), the error will occur. For solving your problem, please update the WSPublishState value for both "<File"
elements to “3”.
PropertyName="WSPublishState"
Value="3"
Also note that the WSPublishState property is also duplicated within the "MetaInfo" property, so both occurrences should be updated. Then the resulting files need
to be re-packaged into the template.

Sub Site Creation fails (works, but access is denied + autodelete)
Hello,
we have an upgraded from 2010 Sharepoint Sharepoint 2013 site, and i believe, since i pressed the "make it 2013" Button, normal users cannot create sub sites anymore.
As an Admin, i can do this.
As you can see in the Logfiles, the Site is created, then comes an access denied error, and the site is deleted automatically.
Please give me Input where to debug further ?

Change default language at site creation?
Hi,
I have a SharePoint farm consisting of three site collections. All of these have been created with English language. A Norwegian language pack has been installed.
Is there any way to change the default language when a new site is created? More specific: when a user decides to create a new site (not site collection), I want the language dropdown in the form to be Norwegian, not English. Is this possible?
Thanks!Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change the default site language.
There is no supported way to change the default language of a site collection, once it has been created.
There is a way to change it by modifying the content database using SQL Management Studio(though it is not supported), you can refer to the article below to change the default language in an existed site.
