My wife and I recently purchased 2 new iphone 4's. I have an itunes account with tones of songs. How do I sync the phones with my itunes account? Since there are 2 phones, do we need to open a second itunes account? If so, is there anyway to transfer music from one account to another?

You can both share the same iTunes account for iTunes content, but you need separate Apple ID's to use iCloud, iMessage, FindMyPhone & FaceTime. The Apple ID's for iCloud, etc. MUST be verifiable email addresses. If you don't setup separate Apple ID's for this suff, you'll have a mess on your hands. Find a copy of Leopard (call Apple Customer Support and tell them that you have a machine that can't run Snow Leopard).
You could also go to eBay.

If you turned off Contacts wouldnt that mean that the Contacts would no longer be backed up to iCloud as well? That would make it a pain when upgrading a phone to not easily pull contacts back down.

If you see Devices in the big list on the left-hand side of iTunes, it should show the name of your iPhone right below it. You can right-click (or hold ctrl and left click) on the name of the iPhone there, and choose "transfer purchases from iPhone".
If you're on iTunes 11, you won't see the big list of the left until you go to the View menu at the very top (where you see iTunes/File/Edit/View/etc) and choose Show Sidebar. Then do the same thing: right-click or ctrl and left-click on the iPhone's name below Devices and "transfer purchases from iPhone".
It'll ask you to authorize the computer for your Apple ID if you haven't yet; to do that, you just type your Apple ID and password in when it asks. If it says you are not authorized but doesn't automatically give you an option to do so, then you can go to the Store menu at the very top and choose "authorize this computer".

Sorry, unless she backup up the new phone before or is using iCloud to save the photos, the photos are gone.
