MySQL 4.0 & smallworld database supported in PI 7.1.1?

Hi All,
I have two questions, but both related in JDBC adapter:
1. Is mySQL 4.0 is still supported in PI 7.1.1?
2. Is Small World Database supported in PI 7.1.1?
Would be great if you can share any link.
Cheers,
Rahul

MySql is usually supported on PI 7.11, but i'm not sure that also the release 4.0 is supported.
Here are the parameters:
Driver Class: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
URL: jdbc:mysql://<host>:<port3306>/<database>
You can download the MySQL Drivers depending on your version from:
http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/
The file you need to deploy is mysql-connector-java-3.1.10.jar
Becareful to select the right version of the driver.
Relating to SmallWorldDatabase... i really don't know!

  • Third Party Database Support in SQL Developer

As a rule I don't (blatantly) advertise my blog on this forum, but I have just had feedback from my recent posting which made realize you might not have stumbled on this new functionality. i.e. Third Party Database Support in SQL Developer. <br>
<p>In the Evaluation Release 3 (1.1.0.22.71) you can connect to and browse MySQL and SQL Server databases. The Getting Started document on OTN, does mention where to get the jdbc drivers and briefly, how to set it up in SQL Developer. This blog entry takes that a step further.
<p>If you have access to either of these databases, please take a whirl and see what you think. For production you will also be able to connect to an MS Access database.
    <p>Regards<br>
    Sue

The great thing, as you see from Donal's reply, is that other teams can take advantage of SQL Developer's framework, so we have a few teams working on extensions to SQL Developer and the product benefits from the work they do.
From the SQL Developer team's side, we have logged and fixed bugs for 8i support in 1.1. since the last evaluation drop, so when you get the next drop for SQL Developer, you should be able to browse more objects using 8i. Also I have logged further 8i bugs and will continue to have more fixed. This is an ongoing project. We also have a number of features that need to be added to support current releases and try to give these a high priority. So the team is focused on addressing as many requests as we can for supported features.
We know we have many customers on unsupported databases and would like to support them too, having said that, we have run a poll on this forum for ages and have had 7.5% (22) responses for databases lower than 9.x. It's a small poll, but based on all our feedback we believe we have the right focus.

  • [SOLVED] Zabbix installation blocked - PHP database support missing?

    Hello everyone!
I'm trying to install zabbix following the wiki (the mysql version: zabbix-server-mysql from AUR),
on a working LAMP server (up to date).
The package installs, but when I try to take the last steps of the installation (from http://localhost/my_zabbix_installation),
on page two (Check of pre-requisites) it marks:
    "PHP databases support    off         Fail"
according to php, mysql support is enabled. (extension=mysql.so is commented out in /etc/php/php.ini)
    What can cause this?
Last edited by scar (2014-08-05 16:16:47)

It is not bug. Read PHP extensions
    uncommet in file /etc/php/php.ini
    extension=mysqli.so

So my question is: is duplication from active database supported in the standard edition?
If it is, then what do I need th do to make this work?
    Thanks for your help.

    Yes, this is it.
I tested only three cases before:
    - not allocating any channel
    - allocating local channel only
    - allocating auxiliary channel only
I need to allocate both channels in the run block, then it works.

  • How to connect APEX with MYSQL via Apex's Database link

How do i connect APEX with MYSQL via Apex's Database link? The OBE doesn't go into specific detail about how to link the two.
can someone please elaborate on what these are and where i can find them in mysql:
    Database Link Name
    Connect To Schema
    Password
    Remote Hostname or IP
    Remote Host Port
    SID or Service Name
I need to link to mysql database so I can set up a 3D pie chart in apex

    Hi jononioo
A database link is a device for connecting between Oracle database instances only. Oracle does have a method for connecting to other database systems (Transparent Gateway) but this is restricted to other commercial databases and I don't believe there is a gateway for Mysql. (I could be wrong)
I don't know Mysql but maybe there is some way to push data to the Oracle instance. Other than that, is there any reason why the data has to reside in the Mysql database?

  • The third party database supported by SAP BW

    Hi
Apart from SAP R/3 , my client has a historical data in thier legacy system so called  MFG/PRO, they wondering if SAP BW is allow to connect to such system.  Anyone know where I can check the third party database supported by SAP BW ?
    Panadda

    Hi:
The native SAP NetWeaver BI functionality delivered to connect with such a system is called UDconnect ("BW" is an old term).
    Here are some resources
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/78/ef1441a509064abee6ffd6f38278fd/frameset.htm
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/58f4db47-0501-0010-a2bf-ff01b150fdff
You should be able to find a JDBC or ODBO driver for such a system that can work with UDconnect.
Thanks for any points you choose to assign.

    Hello,
MS SQL Server Enterprise Software is the supported one.
First check with service.sap.com/pam to verify the support version (2000/2005/2008R2). Then check with Installation Guides for SAP, there you will see only the database software required is Enterprise Edition.
    Thanks

  • Will there be future database support of mySQL and php 5.5 on the dreamweaver CC?

Will there be future support of mySQL and php 5.5 on the dreamweaver CC? I have seen various topics on this, and havent seen any answers on this as of yet. I feel it is very important to have this available, and not from some external company as an addon or something. I come from cs6 products, and am debating whether or not I should even join the creative cloud, or participate any further with Adobe products.
I have been a fan of Adobe for quite some time. However, if there isn't going to be any database tools within DW, I may decide to pass on the CC and comepletely hand code it all from now on.
Has anyone found yes or no answer to this yet? I am assuming there is no news yet, as the adobe posts I have read have no additional info other than they haven't updated the tools, thus removing them from CC.

I very much doubt that any future addition of DW will include any 'official' support for mySql database interactivity. CC hide the server behaviours this time around in an extention to be activated by the individual, its still available in CC but at the users own disgression, mySql is dead. You should be connecting and querying your databases using other methods like mySqli. Adobe have seen it fit to go in other directions and dispite the outcry of dropping the server behaviours there has been a deafening silence from Adobe. From that you can take it they think it is no longer an important part of their software package.

I have not updated to CC because it contains zero that would be of importance to my workflow. The more experienced a code writer you are the less DW has to offer. Any serious code writer would not miss DW if it went out of business. Fireworks is more important to me which LOL is going out of business...go figure. I think the Adone execs are screwed up snorting cocaine or something. I'm not really even sure why I use DW, maybe out of habit.
Certainly hand coding for database connectivity and querying is the ONLY way to go if you are not interested in third party extentions because continuing to use the current available server behaviours is a backwards step. I don't know how good these third party extentions are because there has never been a lot of talk about them around here which leads me to believe not many are considering them, maybe.

  • Dg4odbc to MySQL update errors: "does not support IS NULL in this context"

I am having a problem with 'where x is null' clauses in update statements to MySQL from 11g, using dg4odbc. Updates using the clause 'where x is null' return errors like this:
ORA-02070: database PLAZAHOST does not support IS NULL in this context
The rejected queries never get to mysql. Furthermore, I noticed that select statements with 'where x is null' show up in the mysql query log with the where clause stripped out, although correct results are returned to SQLPlus. It looks as though 'where x is null' is stripped off by dg4odbc, which subsequently applies a secondary filter to the results received from MySQL.
Note, both statements above work properly when issued from the MySQL client.
Has anybody seen this? It's a big problem for me, but I can't find any references to other people having the same problem, so I assume I've got something misconfigured -- but I don't know what.
I'm using MySQL ODBC 5.1 Driver, MySQL 5.1 Community Edition, and Oracle 11g R1 all running on a 32-bit Windows server.
    Thank you -- rick

is null statement is post processed. This means in case of a select ALL records from the remote database are fetched into the Oracle database and the is null statement is then processed locally in the Oracle db.
So thze select will work as it is handled internally in the Oracle database. This also means as But "is null" isn't sent to the foreign MySQL db the update clause will fail with ORA-02070: database PLAZAHOST does not support IS NULL in this context
You need to recode the statement or use passthrough statements.

  • Importing MYSQL dump into Oracle database

    Hi,
I want to import MYSQL database dump into Oracle 9i database.
Can any body suggest as how to proceed for this.
    thanks in advance

if you're referring to dump generated by mysqldump then you have a lot of work to do since Oracle does not support sql syntax in the dump file.
alternatively, you can export each table into .csv file using phpMyAdmin and then load that .csv using SQL Loader or external table.

  • UCCX database support

A customer is currently MySQL for database access w/ UCCX 7.0(1) SR5, even though it is not specifically listed as a supported DB in the compatibility matrix: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
We are preparing to upgrade them to UCCX 8.x to support high availability, and need to make sure that MySQL will still work (they're using it for Staff Meeting & Office closed scripts).

The Administration Guide explains that CCX 8.0+ uses JDBC drivers in the Adding a New Database Driver section starting on page 18-25. As you've already stated, MySQL is not supported so you will receive no support from Cisco. The MySQL site appears to offer a JDBC connector. Since you will be solely responsible for supporting the customer, I suggest spinning up a lab copy of CCX and trying it out. As a partner, you can order an NFR kit that will provide you all the media and licensing needed.

  • Collection Manager Oracle Database support

    Hello,
I want to know if there is any official reply to these questions on CM with Oracle Database:
    1) Versions of Oracle Supported(We have Oracle 11gR2 on a RAC environment)
    2) Recommendations for
    SGA(System Global Area MB) :
    PGA(Program Global Area MB):
    3) Recommendations for Database Block Size MB:
    4) Recommendations for Database Character Set:
    5) Recommendations for National Character Set:
    6) Recommendations for tablespaces needed
    7) Database users that must be created an the privileges they must have on the database objects
I think in the first issue, it must be OK if it works with JDBC right?

    1) Versions of Oracle Supported(We have Oracle 11gR2 on a RAC environment).
The following is a list of supported external databases:
    •Sybase—Version 12.5.1 and higher
    •Oracle—Versions 9.2, 10g, and 11g
    •MySQL—Version 4.1 and higher
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/cable/serv_exch/serv_control/broadband_app/rel36x/cm_qsg/cm_qsg.html
    2) Recommendations for
        * SGA(System Global Area MB) : no such recommendations found, use default or per need.
        * PGA(Program Global Area MB): no such recommendations found, use default or per need.
    3) Recommendations for Database Block Size MB:
DB_BLOCK_SIZE : Specifies (in bytes) the size of Oracle database blocks. Typical values are 4096 and 8192. 8192 is recommended for better performance. The value of this parameter must be a multiple of the physical block size at the device level.
    4) Recommendations for Database Character Set: no such recommendations found, use default or per need.
    5) Recommendations for National Character Set: no such recommendations found, use default or per need.
    6) Recommendations for tablespaces needed :
Cisco provides a sizing sheet that helps to configure the customized sizes by a given RDR rate and data storage period.
For example, if the global insert rate is 5000 and the data storage period is 90 days, the sizing sheet provides the total needed space of 7 terabytes, and space parameters for each tablespace, data file, table, and index.
The file is Attached to the thread.
    This may also help.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/cable/serv_exch/serv_control/broadband_app/rel36x/cmug/Configuring_Databases.html#wp1055997
You can also use rolling window feature to help improve performance as this is supported by the CM.
Storage Unit with Oracle version 11 they can make use of inbuilt rolling window feature. For your reference:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/11gr1_db/bidw/etl/etl.htm#t4.
    7) Database users that must be created an the privileges they must have on the database objects
This is dependent on your DB admin, usually the CM only needs 1 user/pass to access the DB for data access. All other users and privileges are in your control and can be done to suit your needs.
I think in the first issue, it must be OK if it works with JDBC right? Yes.
