MySQL and J2EE 1.4 AppServer

Hi I was wondering if anyone has gotten MySQL to work with CMP EJB's on the J2EE 1.4 AppServer? This is my story so far. Using the admin console I created a new Connection Pool named MySQL, it uses the com.mysql.jdbc.jdbc2.optional.MysqlConnectionPoolDataSource class as the Datasource Classname, all other settings I left as default. I added three properties which the MySQL driver expects to be passed: username, password, and databaseName. Once this is done I can ping the MySQL server successfully. Next I add a new JDBC Resource named jdbc/MySQL. Then using deploytool I change the Sun-specific Settings CMP Resource JNDI Name to jdbc/MySQL. When I try to deploy my EJB, this is when the problem occurs. I get the following error from the server:
-- Fatal Error from EJB Compiler -- JDO74030: JDOCodeGenerator: Caught an IOException initializing CMP code generation for application 'vwcm' module '/opt/sunappserver/domains/versaqual/applications/j2ee-modules/': JDO7001: Cannot find resource com/sun/jdo/spi/persistence/generator/database/MYSQL.properties.
Would anyone know what to do to fix this situation?

I am using Sun App Server 7 and I believe the same concept can be applied to J2EE 1.4. In the CMP EJBs you have create the persistence manager to persist the data with the database. The JDBC resources are for making connection to the database, not for persistence. And the cmp jdbc resource should be named as jdo/MySql rather jdbc/MySql.
Here is how you have to provide in the sun-ejb-jar file for the CMP beans.
<cmp-resource>
<jndi-name>jdo/MySql</jndi-name>
</cmp-resource>
You should find another option in the app server configuration console for "persistence managers".
In the persistence manager console create a new persistence manager called jdo/MySql. It will ask you the following information. (As per App server 7)
JNDI ----- jdo/MySql
Description ------ Provide desc
Factory Class ------- com.sun.jdo.spi.persistence.support.sqlstore.impl.PersistenceManagerFactoryImpl
Connection Pool ------- Provide your connection pool from the combo box.
A JDBC resource will be automatically created to associate the Persistence Manager run-time with the specified Connection Pool.
Persistence Manager Enabled: (Check the check box)
Once you submit this information, it will create a JDBC resource in the name "jdo/MySqlPM". You can check whether it is created or not under the JDBC resource link in the app server configuration console. If it is created, then you should not have any other problem.
After performing the above steps try to deploy, which I believe you should have any problem.
Thanks

  • Wrong insert order MySQL and J2EE

    We have MySQL 4.0.17, mySQL Connector/J 3.0.10 and J2EE 1.3.1 installed on our server. When inserting values from a CMP Entity Bean the column order ends up alphabeticly inside mySQL.
    Here is our insert-query:
    INSERT INTO kunde (kundenr, firmaetternavn, fornavn, badresse, bpostnr, bpoststed, padresse, ppostnr, ppoststed, telefon, faks, epost) VALUES(?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?,?)
    Here is our kunde-table:
    Kunde(kundenr, firmaetternavn, fornavn, badresse, bpostnr, bpoststed, padresse, ppostnr, ppoststed, telefon, faks, epost)
    After a insert-query the kunde-table looks like this:
    KUNDENR FIRMAETTERNAVN FORNAVN etc.
    [badresse-value] [bpostnr-value] [bpostste-value] etc.
    [badresse-value] [bpostnr-value] [bpostste-value] etc.
    Does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem!
    Sorry for my bad english.

    I'm quite sure that our bean class is not the problem, but maybe the driver or something else. Anyway, here's the code

  • Issue in bringing up CRS on ATG 10.1.1 with MySQL and Weblogic 10.3

    Hello,
    I am trying to bring up Commerce Reference Store as part of my evaluation using MySQL (bundled with ATG) and WebLogic 10.3.
    I followed the ATG Documentation on CRS with WebLogic and MySQL and I could not proceed because of the below error log. I keep getting error in OnlineCreateServerInstanceTask of CIM. I believe it should be some configuration problem, but could not think of any.
    As part of the installation, I use C:\jdk1.6.0_25. I verified my weblogic server is up through the admin console. I started MySQL before running the eval batch. Apart from starting MySQL server, I did not make any datasource/database configuration changes for ATG. I have not run any other scripts to configure MySQL too.
    Please guide me to resolve the problem.

When I put data (with jsf form) into my database table everything is displayed correctly until I restart application server (or redeploy my web app). After restarting server non-ascii characters look strange. I suppose that there is a problem with character coding (between apps server and database) but I can't find any solution. I use UTF-8 character coding both in database fields and for displaying jsf pages.
    There are't any problems when I use Derby database for starage data.
    Thanks

    Can you give some more information ?
    Are you using netbeans 5.5 or doing this program standalone and interfacing
    directly with appserver ?
    Can you send a pointer to a gif of the incorrect looking characters ?
    Can you elaborate about putting data using jsf form and some details
    or extract from the code that writes or reads the data ?
    Do the names of your table or columns have the european characters
    in them or is it just the data ?
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to connect Mysql to J2EE server exactly?

    Hi,there
    I would like thank you for offering me your precious opinion in advance.
    I got a problem with installing Mysql database into J2EE server. All I have done is:
    1.Install Mysql and put the Mysql driver,mm.mysql-2.0.4-bin.jar into the directory of J2EE which is j2ee1.3.1/lib.
    2. Set the environment variable for invoking the Mysql driver like
    this,CLASSPATH=.;%JAVA_HOME%\lib\mysql-connector-java-2.0.14-bin;%
    J2EE_HOME%\lib\mysql-connector-java-2.0.14-bin;%JAVA_HOME%\bin;
    3.Modify the content of Server.xml file located in J2EE directory like this:
    <DefaultContext>
    <Resource name="jdbc/mysql" auth="Container"
    type="javax.sql.DataSource" />
    <ResourceParams name="jdbc/mysql">
    <parameter>
    <name>driverClassName</name>
    <value>org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver</value>
    </parameter>
    <parameter>
    <name>drivername</name>
    <value>jdbc:mysql:localhost:3306:mobiledb</value>
    </parameter>
    </ResourceParams>
    </DefaultContext>
    So far,I have no success in connect Mysql to J2EE server. What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you for your kind help.

    hi, sameer
    Thank you for reply. Could you tell me exactly the documents that you see? Do you mean "J2EE tutorial documents"?
    Thanks for advice.

  • Configuring mysql with J2EE

    Hi Im a newbie in J2EE. (just started learning it 2 days back that new..;-)
    I managed to set up a simple application using the J2ee tutorial. Now i want to try out a database application. I have a mysql database installed. Can anyone guide me on how to setup mysql with j2ee server? Are there any online tutorials etc that would help me in this?
    I actually managed to create a connection pool however when i try to ping it i get an error message with says "An error has occurred. Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Class name is wrong or classpath is not set for : org.gjt.mm.mysql.jdbc2.optional.MysqlDataSource" .
    I hav already set classpath of mysql driver. Do i need to copy the jar file to any other directory?
    Im not too sure if the way i have created connection pool is right, but i used the defaults specified so i guess that should be ok.
    Any Help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi! Im Brazilian and Ive been learning the English language yet, but Ill try to describe how to configure J2EE with MySQL.
    I am using MySQL version 4.1.7 with J2EE version 1.3 on Windows XP Professional. The driver version of MySQL is 3.0.16.
    You have to configure the following two files:
    - <J2EE_HOME>\bin\setenv.bat
    - <J2EE_HOME>\config\resource.properties
    Do the following steps:
    1) Copy the JAR file of MySQL driver (mysql-connector-java-3.0.16-ga-bin.jar) to <J2EE_HOME>\lib directory.
    2) In <J2EE_HOME>\bin directory open the setenv.bat file and analize the code. It is not hard to understand the code, it is just the classpath configuration of J2EE. After understand it, add a reference of MySQL driver (mysql-connector-java-3.0.16-ga-bin.jar), that was copied to <J2EE_HOME>\lib directory.
    3) Run the <J2EE_HOME>\bin\j2eeadmin.bat to configure the resource.properties file.There are two command lines to be executed, as below:
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDriver <CLASS NAME OF THE DRIVER>
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDatasource <JNDI NAME> <URL>
    For example:
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDriver "com.mysql.jdbc.Driver"
    - j2eeadmin.bat -addJdbcDatasource "jdbc/mysql/test" "jdbc:mysql://localhost/test?user=username&password=pass"
    4) After run j2eeadmin.bat, the resource.properties file will be modified. But when I did it and when I executed the verbose command to start J2EE, some error messages was exhibited. So I decided to open the resource.properties file and I noticed hat the character "\" was added erroneously in a lot of places of the code. It did not seem correct, so I decided to remove these characters replacing them. Bingo!!! After I did it, I run verbose again and no more message error ocurred. I think it is a bug of J2EE.
    Finish! I modified the datasource JNDI to access MySQL and then I run my EAR application. No problems occurred. My application is running succesfully.
    Good luck!

  • How to use mysql in J2EE server?

    Hi all,
    I have been learning J2EE and playing around with Pointbase as my database and the IDE that I'm using is Forte For JAVA 4 EE.
    Now, I wanna use mysql in J2EE, EJB. But I do not know how to use mysql in j2ee server. I have try to altered the resources.property file by adding a few lines to called the MYSQL datasource and driver. But, it give me errors when i am doing the deployment process. Can any1 of u help me?
    Thanks in advance..

    Hi,
    I guess there must be some problem with your App Server Configuration settings:
    Kindly Check if you are using the following ones:
    Driver Name: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
    Url: jdbc:mysql://[hostname][,failoverhost...][:port]/[dbname][?param1=value1][&param2=value2].....

  • Connector for tomcat and j2ee

    I have a login system created. It creates accounts into a mysql server at the moment. I want the users to be able to log in. I need the correct details in my "my-DB-plan.xml" file in order to be able to connect to the SQL server. Im not sur what to put in this file or whether im to use a server.xml file
    Any Help.Please.

    Our[b] login.html page is simple as follows:
    <html><head><title>
    J2EE SQL Security and Registry System Demo
    </title></head><body>
    <h1>LOGIN using Derby and J2EE declarative security!</h1>
    <form method="POST" action="j_security_check">
    Username:<br>
    <input size="20" name="j_username">
    <br><br>
    Password:<br>
    <input size="20" name="j_password" type="password">
      <input name="submit" type="submit" value="Login">
    </form>
    </html>The connection is not made on the page but rather the username and password is authenticated by "j_security_check".
    It's something to do with the my-db-plan.xml file I think, but I don't know if I'm to replace that file, change it or what..
    It's setup for the Derby Database server rather than MySQL. I'm not sure how you'd change it. This login system we are using can be seen here: http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/library/os-ag-logreg2/

  • Performance with MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox

    Hi!
    I'm having quite some problems with the performance of MySQL and Database connectivity toolbox. However, I'm very happy with the ease of using database connectivity toolbox. The background is:
    I have 61 variables (ints and floats) which I would like to save in the MySQL-database. This is no problem, however, the loop time increases from 8ms to 50ms when using the database. I have concluded that it has to do with the DB Tools Insert Data.vi and I think that I have some kind of performance issue with this VI. The CPU never reach more the 15% of its maximum performance. I use a default setup and connect through ODBC.
    My questions are:
    1. I would like to save 61 variables each 8-10ms, is this impossible using this solution?
    2. Is there any way of increasing the performance of the DB Tools Insert Data.vi or use any other VI?
    3. Is there any way of adjusting the MySQL setup to achieve better performance?
    Thank you very much for your time.
    Regards,
    Mattias

    First of all, thank you very much for your time. All of you have been really good support to me.
    >> Is your database on a different computer?  Does your loop execute 61 times?
    Database is on the same computer as the MySQL server.
    The loop saves 61 values at once to the database, in one SQL-statement.
    I have now added the front panel and block diagram for my test-VI. I have implemented the queue system and separate loops for producer and consumer. However, since the queue is building up faster then the consumer loop consumes values, the queue is building up quite fast and the disc starts working.
    The test database table that I add data to is created by a simple:
    create table test(aa int, bb char(15));
    ...I'm sure that this can be improved in some way.
    I always open and close the connection to the database "outside the loop". However, it still takes some 40-50 ms to save the data to the database table - so, unfortunatly no progress to far. I currently just want to save the data.
    Any more advise will be gratefully accepted.
    Regards,
    Mattias

  • MySQL and JDBC Classpath errors

    I am new to Java and installed MySql and also installed mysql-connectorJ driver. I can compile the code below, but when I go to run it, I get "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: JDBCDemo/class" error. I can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class JDBCDemo {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              try{
    Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
              catch (Exception e)
                   e.printStackTrace();
    I have a the following environment variable called MySQL_Driver located at "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\lib".
    Path = "%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\DLLShared;%JAVA_HOME%;%JAVA_HOME%\lib;%JAVA_VM%\bin;%JAVA_VM%\lib;C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\BINN;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;%MySQL_Driver%"

    What is your CLASSPATH set to as you need to make sure that the driver is in the path as well as the directory/jar where the JDBCDemo app lives.
    Try explictly specifying everything via the -classpath option on your java command line

  • JWSDP and J2EE Integration: Doesn't work. What's the point?

    My problems involve the integration of JWSDP and J2EE as described in these two documents:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/WebServices/wsj2ee/
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/documentation/windows_guide.html
    It looks like a long one, but its really not that bad. All comments are appreciated.
    Ive numbered each line-paragraph-section for easy reference later.
    (1) My ultimate goal is to setup a website that displays data from a database. I will use Java, Apache, Oracle, and whatever else I need to create a website that uses servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSP), and JDBC.
    (2) Ive got four Pentium III computers:
    1. Windows 2000 Server to be the web server (MyWebServer, IP = 10.10.1.1).
    2. Windows 2000 Professional to be the database server (MyDatabaseServer, IP = 10.10.1.2).
    3. Windows 2000 Professional that I use to develop and test (MyDeveloperPC, IP = 10.10.1.3).
    4. Windows 2000 Professional that I use as a client to connect to the website (MyClientPC, IP = 10.10.1.4).
    (3) On MyWebServer I installed the following:
    Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE)
    Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE)
    Java Web Services Developer Pack (JWSDP)
    The JWSDP tutorial
    Apache HTTP Server
    (4) The files I downloaded and installed are as follows:
    j2sdk-1_4_0-rc-win.exe
    j2sdkee-1_3_1-win.exe
    jwsdp-1_0-ea1-win.exe
    jwsdp-1_0-ea1_01-tutorial.zip
    apache_1.3.23-win32-x86-no_src.exe
    (5) After installing these products, I set the environment variables as follows:
    JAVA_HOME = c:\j2se
    J2EE_HOME = c:\j2ee
    JWSDP_HOME = c:\jwsdp
    Path = c:\j2se\bin;c:\j2ee\bin;c:\jwsdp\bin; [and other previous statements]
    (6) I checked to see that Apache is running as a service. It is.
    On MyWebServer I start Tomcat and J2EE. Both start properly and are operating simultaneously.
    (7) From MyClientPC I open Internet Explorer and in the address box I type:
    http://10.10.1.1
    This displays the page c:\ApacheHTTP\apache\htdocs\index.html.en (The Apache default server installation page.)
    (8) I then enter this address in IE:
    http://10.10.1.1:8080
    This displays the page c:\jwsdp\webapps\root\index.html (The default JWSDP page).
    (9) I then enter this address in IE:
    http://10.10.1.1:8000
    This displays the page c:\j2ee\public_html\index.html (The J2EE 1.3 Default Home Page).
    (10) So far so good. Now I want to test JWSDP as a container for JSP pages.
    (11) I use ant to build the converter app found in the tutorial examples (in folder c:\jwsdp\\tutorial\examples\gs). I then deploy the converter app to the c:\jwsdp\webapps\gs folder.
    (12) From MyClientPC I open Internet Explorer and in the address box I type:
    http://10.10.1.1:8080/gs
    The converter app works perfectly.
    (13) To eliminate the need to enter the port number, I create a link from the Apache default server installation page to the converter app. From MyClientPC and enter this address into IE:
    http://10.10.1.1
    I then click on the link to the converter app and it works perfectly.
    (14) Question: Is this the best way to display JSP pages without having to enter the port number?
    (15) Now its time to integrate JWSDP and J2EE as described in these two documents:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/WebServices/wsj2ee/
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/documentation/windows_guide.html
    (16) After I complete this integration I cannot start both Tomcat and J2EE at the same time. This makes sense because they both share port 8080.
    I start Tomcat.
    (17) From MyClientPC and use Internet Explorer to test the various relevant addresses. Everything works the same as it did before except this one:
    http://10.10.1.1:8000
    The page cannot be displayed. The J2EE default home page is not displayed, which makes sense because the J2EE port is no longer 8000; it has been changed to 8080.
    (18) Now I shutdown Tomcat and start J2EE.
    From MyClientPC and use Internet Explorer to test the various relevant addresses:
    (19) http://10.10.1.1:8080
    Displays the JWSDP default home page.
    (20) http://10.10.1.1:8080/gs
    The page cannot be displayed. The converter app no longer works.
    (21) From MyWebServer and use Internet Explorer to test localhost:
    http://localhost:8080
    This displays the J2EE default home page.
    (22) Question: Why does localhost give me a different page than the IP address?
    (23) Question: What was the point of integrating JWSDP and J2EE?
    (24) I want to get the converter app working, so I create a .war file and attempt to add it to the J2EE deploytool (see the two integration documents listed above at section 15.) I create the .war file following the instructions in the JWSDP tutorial:
    http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/ea1/tutorial/doc/WebApp3.html#64606
    (25) I change to the c:\jwsdp\\tutorial\examples\gs\build folder.
    I then type:
    jar cvf converter.war .
    A .war file is created.
    (26) I open the deploytool: File, New, Application, and I name it converter.
    I attempt to add the .war file: File, Add to Application, Web WAR.
    (27) When I attempt to add the converter.war file I get this error:
    converter.war does not appear to be a valid web JAR.
    I tried a few different attempts, all with the same result. Im stuck.
    (28) I ask again, What was the point of integrating JWSDP and J2EE?
    (29) If this is the preferred configuration, how do I display my JSP pages like the converter app?
    Please help!!!

    The JWSDP tutorial says to be in the build folder of the example when issuing the jar command to create the .war file. The build folder is created when I run the ant build command.
    Attempt 1 from the command prompt in folder c:\jwsdp\tutorial\examples\gs\build>
    I typed this command:
    jar cvf c:\jaxmservices\converter.war .
    In this case I directed the .war file to be placed in a different folder as you suggested. Heres the output:
    added manifest
    adding: index.jsp(in = 921) (out= 525)(deflated 42%)
    adding: WEB-INF/(in = 0) (out= 0)(stored 0%)
    adding: WEB-INF/classes/(in = 0) (out= 0)(stored 0%)
    adding: WEB-INF/classes/Converter.class(in = 582) (out= 358)(deflated 38%)
    Didnt work. Same error as before.
    Attempt 2 from the same folder:
    I typed this command as you suggested (I tried it with and without the final dot):
    jar tvf converter.war
    Here is the output:
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: converter.war (The system cannot find the file specified)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.open(Native Method)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:103)
    at java.io.FileInputStream.<init>(FileInputStream.java:66)
    at sun.tools.jar.Main.run(Main.java:185)
    at sun.tools.jar.Main.main(Main.java:904)
    I tried a few other variations on these attempts with no luck. Im stuck.
    Im attempting to create a .war file out of two files: index.jsp and converter.class.
    Now that Ive integrated JWSDP and J2EE, is there some other way that I can run the converter app instead of a .war file and the deploytool? In other words, if I go back to using ant to build and deploy converter, where would I deploy it so that it will work with J2EE?
    By the way, it doesnt have to be converter. Id be happy if I could get any JSP page to work in J2EE after the integration.
    Forever grateful,
    Logan

    hopefully, no business logic is in struts; only the application logic (i.e. order of screens, input type validation, etc.). If this is the case you have many options:
    - direct calls to the ejb (assuming you have a service defined as an EJB)
    - SOAP, SOAP-RPC, or a full web-service (as mentioned above)
    - your own custom protocol over HTTP
    - RMI (probably too much work; easier to just make direct EJB calls)
    - JMS (probably more work than just using SOAP or HTTP)
    - Socket based communication with your own custom protocol
    Probably the fastest to get going is direct calls from swing to the EJB.
    You'll have to re-implement your application logic; but this is fine as the swing app will probably have a different flow than the web-app.
    Best of luck,
    Andrew

    obvious please humour me.
    I use XHTML and CSS in my websites and realise that it is
    time that I dabbled with SSI. So I've started using PHP.
    However, I have been following the installation directions of
    MySql and am running into problems. I am installing the relavent
    software and am then unable to find it on my Mac, the startup files
    are there but the actual MySql data appears to not be installed
    despite my computer telling me it is...... I am using a G3 running
    OSX 10.4 is this good enough? I noticed talk of needing a PowerPC
    or Intel mac. Is this the case?
    Also, would I need MySql installed on my actual computer if
    the my servers have it already? And does Dreamweaver 8 have both of
    these programs installed as standard?
    If you could help out I would be very appreciative as I would
    like to learn this stuff and I appear to be struggling at the
    outset....
    Cheers
    M.A

    MySQL is a relational database management system that
    comprises a
    database server and several utility programs. Although you
    install it
    like any other program on a Mac, the similarity stops there.
    First, the point about PowerPC and Intel Macs is that there
    are
    different versions of the MySQL installer for each type of
    processor.
    I'm pretty sure that a G3 is OK, but you must choose the
    PowerPC version
    of MySQL, not the 64-bit or x86 (Intel Mac) version.
    Once you have installed MySQL, you need to drag the
    MySQL.PrefPane icon
    from the disk image onto your System Preferences. This
    installs a
    Preference Pane that enables you to start and stop MySQL. The
    Preference
    Pane has an option to start up MySQL automatically, but in my
    experience, it doesn't work on Tiger. You need to open the
    Preference
    Pane, and click Start MySQL Server each time you start your
    computer.
    The best way to work with MySQL is to use a graphical
    interface, such as
    phpMyAdmin. As Osgood has mentioned, I have written a book
    about PHP and
    Dreamweaver, which goes into all the necessary details. It's
    also very
    Mac-friendly with separate instructions where necessary for
    PC and Mac.

  • Database setup with MySQL and PHP question

    Hello all,
    I recently had a problem getting a report to work for a site I was updating.  This site is written in PHP with a MySQL database.  The application is to track customer calls to auto repair stores.  The database has a lot of foreign keys because they wanted to update information in only one spot and have multiple records be updated all at once.  So, I've got all the information from individual calls saved in the call_log table, and have foreign keys to reference information in other tables (for example this table lists what store received the call referencing the store table).  If a store changes locations, they want to have reports automatically update with the new address, connection to conversation number, etc.
    In one of the responses to my question on how to get this report to work, I was told that this could be done without using foreign keys (by Normalizing the database using mapping tables).  I am still a newbie to MySQL, and after looking though a lot of manuals, tutorials, and forum posts, I am more confused now than ever.
    I got the report to work using the foreign keys, but I would like to learn what I should have done with the database (and how to get the information displayed).
    So for example one report would be displaying the following:
               Store                                                      Reason for the Customer Call
                                               breaks             oil change            shocks              tune up         total calls
    5636 - Bloomington                  2                       4                        0                       2                   8
    8875 - Duluth                           1                       6                       4                        8                  19
    with links on the store name to pull up the information on that specific store.  How would I change the database (listed below) to do this without foreign keys?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    call_log             (table that contains the following:)
    call_id
    conv_number
    date
    camp_type         (foreign key to the campaign table so it displays the campaign_id)
    reason               (foreign key to the call_reason table so it displays the reason_id)
    location              (foreign key to the store table so it displays the store_id)
    associate
    call_summary
    trainig_issue      (foreign key to the training_points table so it displays the training_key_id)
    visit_closed
    example            (foreign key to the example_type table so it displays the example_id)
    campaign          (table that contains the following:)
    campaign_id
    campaign_name
    campaign_promotion
    campaign_coupon
    campaign_startdate
    campaign_enddate
    call_reason       (table that contains the following:)
    reason_id
    reason
    store               (table that contains the following:)
    store_id
    store_number
    store_address
    store_city
    store_state
    store_postalcode
    store_name
    store_phone
    store_email
    store_mgr
    training_points  (table that contains the following:)
    training_key_id
    key_issue
    policy
    example_type  (table that contains the following:)
    example_id
    example_name
    example_image
    Thank you very much.

    Frankly, that is way to much of a question to be answered in detail on a forum... There's a lot involved and a lot of general database understanding required. I would highly recommend:
