MYSQL Reconfiguration!

Hi All,
I have the Business Obejcts XI R2 running in C:\ and File store in E:\. The BO folder showing 5.5 GB of memory which I have only 10 GB of memory allocated in c:\ so its taking almost more than half of the space in c:\ and my client wants to move MYSQL folder to E:\. so is there any step by step process for moving MYSQL folder to E:\ and re-configuration all the services to MYSQL or is there any other way to do so. your help is appreciated.
thanks,
Kalyan

Hi Kalyan,
Here is how you do it:
1. Open the Central Configuration Manager on the server
2. Stop the CMS
3. Select Properties (for the CMS)
4. Go to the Configuration tab
5. Next to the CMS database information, click on 'Specify...'
6. Select 'Copy data from another Data Source'
7. Specify source (old MySQL) and target (new MySQL) with credentials
8. After its done you can start the CMS and your data should be in the new database

  • MySQL Master/Slave w/IP-Failover

    Hello All,
    I just currently setup a MySQL Master and Slave which are working great! I used these instructions and it is working excellent on Leopard Server 10.5.8 running MySQL 5.1.37 GA release:
    http://homepage.mac.com/kelleherk/iblog/C711669388/E351220100/index.html
    My question is, is it possible to setup an ip-failover on these servers so that when the MySQL Master server goes down my clients can use the MySQL Slave?
    Or do I need to setup a master/master environment first that both replicate to each other?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you very much!

    There are many ways of achieving this, but the 'right' approach depends a lot on your network infrastructure and environment.
    For example, you probably have some kind of application that's talking to the database server. In some respects the 'best' solution is to have the application be aware of the database setup and failover its connections to the replica if the master goes away. This kind of application-awareness is likely to be the most robust and scalable solution if your application supports it. Without knowing the application it's impossible to predict if this is an option for you.
    Another approach is to use a load balancer - point your application to the load balancer and let the load balancer decide which database server to relay the connection to. Due to the cost of load balancers this is likely only an option for larger sites but it's one to bear in mind.
    You could go the IP-failover route but this is more complex since you will likely need to restart MySQL after a failover event. That's because MySQL won't automatically listen to the newly-assigned IP address, so your failover script will need to stop MySQL, reconfigure the network, then restart MySQL. Clearly this won't be a seamless failover (or failback).
    Another approach to consider would be viable if you have multiple application servers, and that would be to set half your servers to talk to one server and half to talk to the other. That way if you do lose one database server you still have half your application servers running. This avoids the whole issue of needing to run IPFailover provided the active half of your application servers can handle the load.
    Of course, all these approaches require two-way replication - you need to be able to update your secondary database and have the updates push back to the master. If your secondary is read-only your application is likely to fail no matter what scenario you use (unless your application is primarily SELECTs and few INSERTS and it can fail gracefully when an INSERT fails).

  • How to reconfigure and restart GoldenGate Replication from MySQL to Oracle after a DDL operation on the source

    I succesfully configured and performed the goldengate replication from MySQL 5.1 to Oracle XE 11g using GG 11g as per
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/11g/GGS_Sect_Config_UX_MSQ_to_UX_ORA.pdf
    After replication was successully started working I added a new column to one of the test tables TCUSTMER
    ALTER TABLE TCUSTMER ADD COLUMN ADDRESS VARCHAR(64) DEFAULT NULL;
    And inserted another row in the same table.
    INSERT INTO TCUSTMER VALUES ('CLARK', 'CLARK BOATS', 'REDWOOD',  'CA', 'Test Addresss1');
    As soon as I did that the replication broke.
    2015-04-16 17:42:44  ERROR   OGG-00146  VAM function VAMRead returned unexpected result: error 600 - VAM Client Report <CAUSE OF FAILURE : Table Metadata Altered cause
    WHEN FAILED : While processing table map event in log processor
    Then I reverted the DDL change back to original
    ALTER TABLE TCUSTMER DROP COLUMN ADDRESS;
    and tried to run the replication again
    But it is not starting as before.
    What should I do to move forward with same setup.

    Hi ,
    Whenever you do a DDL change in the Source table, you have to make the same changes in the Target side also. Then recreate the Definition File, copy it to the Target side and Start the GoldenGate processes.
    1. Add the column in the Target side.
    2. Recreate the Definition File and copy it to the Target side.
    3. Recreate the Replicat process in the Target side and try to start it.
    Hope this works..!!!!!!!! Any other suggestions friends????????

  • How make installer java with mySQL database

    How do I create a java installer for windows, because I have a project that uses mySQL database.
    Anyone please help me....

    If you have eg. a desktop application which needs a database, but don't have/ need a database server, which is accessed by several instances of the application (which seems to be the case, otherwise you wouldn't want to install it along with the application), consider an embedded database such as Apache Derby/ Java DB.
    Then all you need is to ship some jars and make sure they are on the classpath.
    If you're using JPA and generate the DB schema, then switching DB vendors should be quite easy. Just reconfigure your persistence.xml.

  • PHP/MySQL incommunicado since upgrading OS X Server 10.4.2 - 10.4.3

    Back when 10.4 first came out and I foolishly upgraded my server right away, I spent hours trying to reconfigure PHP because Apple had monkeyed with with the configuration (since 10.3) and shipped it such that PHP/MySQL wouldn't speak out of the box. I think the trouble had something to do with the location that PHP looks for MySQL, but low level config of these services isn't really my area of expertise. Eventually I got it fixed, but it was a nightmare trying to figure out what was wrong.
    Sooo....performed the update to 10.4.3 this morning....and now if I try to bring up a php page in a web browser:
    Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.0.1.250' (61)...
    And that's as far as it gets. Anyone have any ideas? I would speculate that Apple may have finally addressed the issue that was preventing PHP/MySQL from working out-of-box in 10.4, but, in doing so, my workaround for that problem has now become a problem itself.
    Any advice or help would be of greatly appreciated!

    Make sure mySQL server process is started running.
    I think on some upgrades the setting for automatic start of mySQL
    servcies gets set to NO in /etc/hostconfig file

  • Add MySQL + Zend Framework 2?

    My LAN: Mac Mini Server + Time Capsule + two iMacs. Comcast cable modem is in bridged mode, DHCP and NAT provided by Time Capsule. Mac Mini Server provides DNS service to the LAN and Open Directory service as well as FTP, Websites and Wiki services that are publicly accessible to authorized users.
    One of the iMacs was previously configured to run Apache Server, MySQL and PHP as well as phpMyAdmin and Zend Framework 2. All were disabled so they would interfere with setting up a LAN and incorporating Server.app. I want to start developing with ZF2 again.
    Is it better to add MySQL + phpMyAdmin + ZF2 to the Server or make the modifications necessary to have them continue to run on the iMac?
    I prefer to stay with MySQL but don't mind giving MariaDB a try.
    I don't mind buying another domain name if that makes things easier, but it will have to share my current static IP address. It's main use will be for developing and testing PHP/ZF2 applications.
    Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

    Thank you for your comments, they're appreciated, especially the advice regarding phpMyAdmin. I like to use it for development, but it's not necessary in a production environment.
    There is a LOT of information about MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, phpMyAdmin, PgAdmin, phpPgAdmin, ZF2, etc. for Mountain Lion that erroneously claim to work for Mountain Lion Server as well. But there are significant differences between ML and ML Server, at least with PostgreSQL (different location) and PgAdmin (removed by the Server.app installer).
    I may give PostgreSQL and PgAdmin or phpPgAdmin a try since PostgreSQL is already installed. PgAdmin and phpPgAdmin were very easy to install and configure.
    PostgreSQL is used by some services provided by Server.app so I need to be careful when setting it up for my databases. It may be as simple as creating another superuser.
    Then again, it may be better to reconfigure the setup on iMac to get it working in my network. Based on your recommendation in another thread I looked into MariaDB as a "drop-in" replacement to MySQL. That looks promising, but I'm wary of using MacPorts or Homebrew to install it and I haven't yet slogged through all the steps needed to compile it on my iMac.

  • Can I reconfigure Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer (ACQRA) ?

    Hello,
    I working on capturing all the Quiz results onto a MySQL Database using WAMP. No problem getting the data into the Database using the internalserverreporting.php after some modifications.
    Still having some trouble reverse engineering  the interserverread.php. While experimenting with some modifications, I received some help on how to clear the application of past Quiz data so that I can see what happens with my changes. Now I realized that the Application is programmed to expect XML files and store the results in a special location.
    QUESTION 1:
    Can I reconfigure the Application to stop looking for XML files and configure it to point to my database?
    QUESTION 2:
    Can I get my hands on the code that was used to create ACQRA for my standalone application?

    Hello,
    Welcome to Adobe Forums.
    Do you have 26 different projects ?
    Which version of Captivate are you using ?
    Do you have MAC or Windows ?
    Any Error message while generating results for those 5 courses ?
    Thanks,

  • Error: Reconfiguring the Filr Server Failed

    I am in the midst of my first install of Filr appliance. I am doing a Large Installation of version 1. 0.1.
    All appliances are running (MySQL X 1 and Search Appliance X 2)
    I have configured Mysql and Search appliance as described in the Installation and Configuration Guide.
    When I run the Filr "Large Deployment" Server Configuration Wizard, the following happens-
    1. It starts with the Database dialog box and I am able to connect to the Mysql server- it goes through the screen,
    2. Then it prompts for Search Appliance- I key in the Search appliance details,
    3. Prompts for Default Locale- I select English-- after a few minutes it gives me an error Reconfiguring the Filr server failed
    I have tried redoing the Filr environment, but still the same issue.
    The System Service- area shows the Novell Filr status as blank (no status)- is this normal
    the logs indicate -HTTP ERROR 500, Problem accessing /vaconfig/system/logs/filr.zip. Reason: Unable to copy zipped log files to stream.
    One more thing, Where do the filr logs file reside??? which folders, I am hoping the logs will give me some clue.
    Can someone please advise.
    thanks
    Tom.

    Dear Bharath,
    Your PL is too low. Upgrade to the latest PL will solve this problem.

  • Securing MySQL for production server.

    Hello,
    I am about to start to build a server running 10.5.3 to host a web site with a MySQL back end. Whilst doing this i will be learning about MySQL as i go along. The question i would like to ask though before i get started is What do i need to do initially to secure the MySL installation on a 10.5.3 Leopard Server?
    Has Apple secured it as much as possible out of the box, apart form setting the root password or do i need to do further configuring to secure other areas.
    PS. Is there such a tool that will check for any security vulnerabilities in your configuration before it goes live?
    Thanks in advance for any help.

    There are multiple attacks targeting Joomla presently active, based on what the botnets are aiming at the (non-Joomla) web sites I manage.
    The web apps are the target here. Joomla, front and center. Yes, the attackers can want into the database, but they're going to try to gain that access through the very same applications that you have already authorized database access. Through your content management system (CMS). If Joomla can access and modify the database, then an attack based on SQL Injection or XSS can itself gain that same access.
    Having the DB located local, remote or even on Mars (well, other than the latency) does not alter the security situation, as the target (Joomla) is authorized access into the database.
    I don't prefer to connect Mac OS X Server (directly) to the web. For something like this, I use an out-board firewall, set to pass ports 80 and 443, and other specific ports as required, If you connect directly, you have to be much more careful with your management and installation. With Mac OS X Server behind a firewall, you can keep (most of) the port attacks blocked out at the firewall, and not directly on your server. If you install or reconfigure something that opens a port (whether you realize it or not) and you don't have an outboard firewall, that port can be accessed remotely.
    I do use the Mac OS X Server firewall, in conjunction with the outboard firewall. I don't prefer to use the host firewall -- in isolation -- in an internet-facing server environment. And I keep that outboard firewall locked down.
    One area of database security here involves getting recoverable copies off the host for use if the host becomes compromised. Periodically test the restores, too. And recognize you might have to drop back some number of snapshots, until you find a copy of your database and your web directories that isn't compromised.
    Get on the Joomla security notification lists (the content management system I use offers those; haven't specifically checked Joomla), and do lock down your web server. Figure out who owns Joomla or other security updates, and figure out who owns archival processing and recovery, and figure out what you want to do if your server becomes compromised.
    For the Apache configurations, you want to block access to all but specified directories, and you can want to block the .htaccess and other site-specific files. Access into your defaults, directory traversals, file specifications, etc., are typically blocked via conf directive or .htaccess. Joomla should have recommendations for this somewhere in its documentation. If not, other CMS pacakges have descriptions of locking down Apache, though various details of this process tend to be somewhat CMS-specific. (Check the [Drupal|http://drupal.org] site; I know that CMS has this sort of thing documented.)
    You'll want to watch the attacks, too.
    It usually takes me a half-hour or so to fully set up and test Apache, building from my templates and customizing those for the particular CMS install I'm working on. Way more than could be easily included here.

    How i know the jdbc driver not compatible to this
    mechanismBy reading the documentation tthat comes with your driver. Recent versions of the MySQL JDBC driver do support the getExportedKeys/ImportegKeys methods but the table needs to be crated as InnoDB.
    So run the SQL command
    show table statusWhats under the Type column for your table? If it isn't InnoDB then this isn't going to work.
    If it is InnoDB but getExportedKeys/ImportegKeys still don't work then you haven't used the "foreign key" constraint in your "create table" command

  • Strange scenario,Oracle can not display the data in mysql correctly

    I use Heterogeneous Service+ODBC to achieve "oracle access mysql"(any other method?),and now i find Oracle can not display the data in mysql correctly:
    -------mysql------------
    mysql> create table tst(id int,name varchar(10));
    Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
    mysql> insert into tst values(1,'a');
    Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec)
    mysql> select * from tst;
    ------------+
    | id | name |
    ------------+
    | 1 | a |
    ------------+
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)
    mysql> show create table tst\G
    *************************** 1. row ***************************
    Table: tst
    Create Table: CREATE TABLE `tst` (
    `id` int(11) DEFAULT NULL,
    `name` varchar(10) DEFAULT NULL
    ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)
    -------------oracle ------------------
    SQL> select count(*) from "tst"@mysql;
    COUNT(*)
    49
    SQL> select * from "tst"@mysql;
    id
    1
    SQL> desc "tst"@mysql;
    Name Null? Type
    id NUMBER(10)

    You can make the following query on the result page:
    "select * from the_table where movietitle = ? and cinema = ?"
    then you set movietitle and cinema to those which the user selected. If the resultset contains more than 0 rows, that means the movie is available.
    Below is the sample code, it assumes you have a connection to the database:
    PreparedStatement stat = myConnection.prepareStatement("select * from the_table where movietitle = ? and cinema = ?");
    stat.setString(1, usersMovieTitleSelection);
    stat.setString(2, usersCinemaSelection);
    ResultSet res = stat.executeQuery();
    if (res.next()) {
    out.print("The movie is available");
    } else {
    out.print("The movie is not available");
    }Now just add that to your JSP page. Enjoy ! =)

  • How can I create a new table in a MySQL database in MVC 5

    I have an MVC 5 app, which uses MySQL hosted in Azure as a data source. The point is that inside the database, I want to create a new table called "request". I have already activated migrations for my database in code. I also have the following
    code in my app.
    Request.cs: (inside Models folder)
    public class Request
    public int RequestID { get; set; }
    [Required]
    [Display(Name = "Request type")]
    public string RequestType { get; set; }
    Test.cshtml:
    @model Workfly.Models.Request
    ViewBag.Title = "Test";
    <h2>@ViewBag.Title.</h2>
    <h3>@ViewBag.Message</h3>
    @using (Html.BeginForm("SaveAndShare", "Home", FormMethod.Post, new { enctype = "multipart/form-data" }))
    @Html.AntiForgeryToken()
    <h4>Create a new request.</h4>
    <hr />
    @Html.ValidationSummary("", new { @class = "text-danger" })
    <div class="form-group">
    @Html.LabelFor(m => m.RequestType, new { @class = "col-md-2 control-label" })
    <div class="col-md-10">
    @Html.TextBoxFor(m => m.RequestType, new { @class = "form-control", @id = "keywords-manual" })
    </div>
    </div>
    <div class="form-group">
    <div class="col-md-offset-2 col-md-10">
    <input type="submit" class="btn btn-default" value="Submit!" />
    </div>
    </div>
    @section Scripts {
    @Scripts.Render("~/bundles/jqueryval")
    HomeController.cs:
    [HttpPost]
    public ActionResult SaveAndShare(Request request)
    if (ModelState.IsValid)
    var req = new Request { RequestType = request.RequestType };
    return RedirectToAction("Share");
    The point is that, I want the user to fill the form inside the Test view and click submit, and when the submit is clicked, I want a new entry in the new table to be created. But first of course I need to create the table. Should I create it using SQL query
    through MySQL workbench? If yes, then how can I connect the new table with my code? I guess I need some DB context but don't know how to do it. If someone can post some code example, I would be glad.
    UPDATE:
    I created a new class inside the Models folder and named it RequestContext.cs, and its contents can be found below:
    public class RequestContext : DbContext
    public DbSet<Request> Requests { get; set; }
    Then, I did "Add-Migration Request", and "Update-Database" commands, but still nothing. Please also note that I have a MySqlInitializer class, which looks something like this:
    public class MySqlInitializer : IDatabaseInitializer<ApplicationDbContext>
    public void InitializeDatabase(ApplicationDbContext context)
    if (!context.Database.Exists())
    // if database did not exist before - create it
    context.Database.Create();
    else
    // query to check if MigrationHistory table is present in the database
    var migrationHistoryTableExists = ((IObjectContextAdapter)context).ObjectContext.ExecuteStoreQuery<int>(
    string.Format(
    "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM information_schema.tables WHERE table_schema = '{0}' AND table_name = '__MigrationHistory'",
    // if MigrationHistory table is not there (which is the case first time we run) - create it
    if (migrationHistoryTableExists.FirstOrDefault() == 0)
    context.Database.Delete();
    context.Database.Create();

  • Issue in bringing up CRS on ATG 10.1.1 with MySQL and Weblogic 10.3

    Hello,
    I am trying to bring up Commerce Reference Store as part of my evaluation using MySQL (bundled with ATG) and WebLogic 10.3.
    I followed the ATG Documentation on CRS with WebLogic and MySQL and I could not proceed because of the below error log. I keep getting error in OnlineCreateServerInstanceTask of CIM. I believe it should be some configuration problem, but could not think of any.
    As part of the installation, I use C:\jdk1.6.0_25. I verified my weblogic server is up through the admin console. I started MySQL before running the eval batch. Apart from starting MySQL server, I did not make any datasource/database configuration changes for ATG. I have not run any other scripts to configure MySQL too.
    Please guide me to resolve the problem.

    Thanks.

    This error is resolved after following the logs in C:\ATG\ATG10.1.1\CIM\log\cim.log. The root cause is I used http as protocol instead of t3 while specifying weblogic admin url.
    http://localhost:7001 instead of t3://localhost:7001
    Thanks.

  • Conversion of Mysql query in oracle acceptable query format

    Hi
    I have successfully converted my MySql database in oracle. Now the problem is how to execute already written hundreds of Mysql query on the oracle. There are many syntax variation in Mysql query format which is not acceptable for oracle.
    For Example
    Select case_id as 'this is alias' from cases
    The above query can run on Mysql database but have problem while executing Oracle, because single quotes should be replaced with double quotes before executing it on oracle. There are also many other syntax conflicts.
    I have tried to resolve the problem through SwisSQLAPI but problem still exist as SwisSQLAPI is not dealing with all syntax conflict. In my case (select if (expresion, true,false)) must be replace with decode (expression, value,true,false) function of oracle and this conversion is not supported by SwisSQLAPI.
    Please help me in resolving this problem
    Thanks

    The problem with trying to port from one language (mysql SQL) to another (oracle SQL) is that there's generally no hard rules for a computer to follow, that it will get it 100% correct.
    Look at babelfish when you translate a foreign language to English. The end result is readable (usually), but it's rarely completely correct.
    The problem is when you feed something into Oracle SQL, it needs to be 100% correct.
    All you can really do here is rewrite these queries. It shouldn't actually take as long as you think, because 50% of queries will generally need very minor changes you can do in a minute, and 25% won't need any changes at all.
