N73 Firmware - I now have latest generic version 3...

latest version as at 30/10/06 released a couple of days ago to service centres
After Nokia telling me they are waiting for the service proveder to ok their new firmware version, in my case vodafone, and vodafone telling me to go to nokia, I gave up and called a local service centre who told me they had the update that fixes bluetooth issues, I asked them to check online, they did, and found this one. I had it installed a couple of hours later.
There are added features like walkie talkie usablity, instant messaging, antivirus software added into the office suite the sms now works quicker, bluetooth fix included. Camera fix to stop hanging, bust most importantly, should fix crashes when taking calls my main reason for not waiting any longer. There are other fixes which just stabilise the system in general.
U obviously need dload settings from your provider again, but now at least I dont have to have vodafone logo's etc all over the place. Just took a little tweaking to get the web working sweet again.
Anyway, early days yet, will add more here if I still get problems or find any other new stuff.

No discount for anyone. If you can upgrade your hardware to Mavericks, then it will cost you $20 bucks.
Upgrading to Snow Leopard

Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.

Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Now have two FLASH versions.

I upgraded and now have two active versions - v10 & v11.
I thought the installer was supposed to take care of everything.
Computing is becoming increasingly tedious, not more user friendly as time passes.
Recently my laptop was DESTROYED by a manufacturers web site and now all I have is this crappy VISTA based netbook.

Itunes keeps syncing my iphone4s when no options are selected to do so. Ipod appears to be fine. I have latest ios version on phone. Windows user pc. Any help would be appreciated

I updated to the new itunes software on my windows pc. I plugged in iphone 4s to transfer music across. itunes then started wiping all other music, but still showing songs on phone etc. Playlists just scrolled through as though nothing was there. Summary on phone still showed music!
I manually manage music on the phone myself, never ticked syncing etc. Wiped all the music off phone, and started again. This worked once, and now has reverted back to showing less songs on the phone, but now appears to be re-adding the songs again when I've just connected it to add more music.
itunes didn't appear to have a problem when my ipod was connected. I'm loathed to reconnect now, as I have my entire music collection on there, and do not want that to be half deleted etc.
If anyone can help, that'd be appreciated.

i was a little mysterious in my post earlier. but what i'm wondering about is a weird silent version of one of these errors:
iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod
-36 or "Disk cannot be read from or written to" error syncing iPod in iTunes
... i have seen a case where it turned out that a corrupt song file was causing the entire computer (not just itunes) to freeze up in the way you're describing (instead of returning a -69 or one of the other error messages).
what i think might be going on in these cases is that something strange happens during the "error reporting" phase of proceedings, and Windows gets desperately confused and goes into a sulk.
given that a bad cable can cause either the -36 or the -69, it's plausible that that could cause the silent version too ...
(this is all very hypothetical and conjectural, though. i could very well be barking up completely the wrong tree.)

I feel its more of my sync drivers for itunes/iphone not working if that makes sense. Its not my itunes that stops responding, its more of that if the phone syncs up it fails to anything further.

Hello, I am in need of help, I upgraded my Ipod Mini, after the update it told me to plug the ipod into a wall outlet so that it may safely flash the bios, I plugged the usb cable into the wall adapter then plugged it in, nothing happened. I left it plugged in all night and it would reset in 3 minute intervals never flashing my bios because I still have the Icon with the power adapter on the screen of my ipod. I have opened the diagnostics to look around and to charge my Ipod also but I have found nothing that seems to work, any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated, thanks a lot, I have searched this topic but havent found the correct answer to suit me. Mitch - Thanks so much for the reply , I drained the battery so much that nothing would come on at all, then I hooked it up to my wall charger. Right now I have the dead battery Icon which is somewhat of a relief to me because I am tired of seeing the wall charger Icon. If this doesnt work my next step will probably try to find someone that has a computer where I can plug my firewire plug in, who knows it may work, I will try anything including taking it apart.

Many add-ons work only with a particular range of Firefox versions. After the upgrade, Firefox will attempt to find new compatible versions. This is not always possible.
To determine whether an add-on you can't live without has a version for Firefox 11, you can check the [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ Add-ons site] or try this add-on to make that a little easier (I haven't tried it myself): [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible/ Is It Compatible? :: Add-ons for Firefox].
By the way, many recent posts report problems with Skype add-ons, so you might want to research here if you notice any strange copy/paste problems.

I had a trial version that expired. I now have a paid version.

The expired version interferes with the paid version. I try to open an app and it won't validate (says expired). How do I validate existing apps from trial version to use with my paid account?

Are you using Windows compute or Mac ?
Also Sign out from Creative Cloud once and Sign in .
Then launch CC apps and when you get Trial Expired error :
Click on License this Software option and sign in.
Sign in, Sign out | Creative Cloud desktop app
Let me know whether you can launch the apps or does it ask for serial number ?

N73 firmware (and now Update error)

Tried "#0000#", but the phone says "Request was not completed".
Any ideas?

This happens quite often with O2 branded phones.
It's giving you that error message but most likely it doesn't have an update available for it.
O2 are a pain for not letting it's customers update using the NSU.
A nokia care point should be able to update it for you.

Iphone 5 itunes trouble! itunes on laptop message says i dont have latest version

Hi,I have latest version of itunes on my laptop. I have copied a music CD so i can sync it to my iphone. when i connect my iphone 5 to the laptop i get a message saying 'claire's iphone cannot be used as dont have latest itunes version'. when i check my iphone it says all of my software is up to date. im not very experienced nor technically minded at all so would appreciate help.

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

N73 Firmware 4.0839 Contacts update no longer work...

Today I made a backup of the information on my N73 ME phone using nokia Backup.
After that I installed the N73 Firmware 4.0839.42.2.1 version.
The phone installed correctly and rebooted.
After that I put the backup back on the phone.
Everything seems to work, but the contacts are not restored back on the phone. All other software is.
Does anyone have the same experience?

For some reason i now have two iMovie apps on my Mac how do i remove one of them?

Cpould anyone advise me how to remove one of the copies of Imovie from my Mac, unless of course there is any advantage to keeping two of the same app on my Mini.
I have never used imovie yet but perhaps i will in the future.

The iTunes application should be installed on the system drive. You may need to repair iTunes to fix that error regarding a missing .exe.
To organize your library properly see Make a split library portable.
If you don't have a working version of the library that can be transformed into a portable shape I have tools and techniques that can repair the broken links.
