N900 - gps usage, voice recording, maps3.0?

I was disappointed, when facing these missing features in N900: Does anybody know:
- Is there a chance to use maps on N900 without an internet connection being on-line (...N95 worked in single GPS mode - without internet...)
- When will Maps 3.0 be available for N900?
- Is there a chance to create voice recording only? (...N95 knew this, I would be surprised if N900 would not...)
- Is there a chance to use voice-driven calling? (I mean just telling the name whoom to call - not typing and searching ... N95 knew this ...)

I have the same difficulty. When the E72 is connected to my car radio via bluetooth, I can only hear voice directions when the car radio is set to the "Telephone" input. This unfortunately means the radio is unable to play any other source (radio, CD, mp3, etc.). In order to hear the voice directions from the E72, I must turn off bluetooth which disables hands free functionality.
I hope Nokia will add the option to direct the voice directions to play from the phone's speakers when connected via bluetooth to a future version of the Maps software.
I do thank Nokia for an otherwise excellent piece of software and for the inclusion of free navigation.

what i really would like is a portable device that can both record conversations and instantly transcribe them into a format that can be quickly and easily edited (the instant transcription doesn't have to be accurate) .. if the transcription can be edited by deleting or inserting more transcribed audio and if the editor permits audio playback of the transcribed file cued from places in the transcription, that would be a plus.

You can't do anything in the background of iOS. Apps are still one at a time (with a few exceptions like Music), and suspend when the app is closed. It's also against the App Store guidelines to sell apps that would allow such actions.
Though, maybe you could get your Voice Memos saved to MP3's, which can play in the background of other apps.

Wanted: Sample source code for voice recorder

I've been google searching for some sample source code to implement a voice recorder on my AudioVox 5600. I would like to learn how to read from the microphone and write to my SD card in a standard file format like wav, wma or mp3.
Can anyone help me understand how to do this?

Basic would be ;
RESULT_FIELDS -xxx = <SOURCE_FIELDS> -xxx
you have the source fields as source, and result fields for as the target. In between you can check some conditions as in other routines of transformation.
BEGIN OF tys_SC_1, shows your source fields ( in your case DSO chars and key figures)
BEGIN OF tys_TG_1, , shows your result fields ( in your case Cube characteristics)

I'd like to use my old ipod touch as a voice recorder. It's an ipod touch 2G (8 gig) using iOS 2.2.1. I tried updating the iOS but an unknown error (-1) occurred. I'm using iTunes 11.3 on a MacBook Pro 10.7.5. Any ideas?

How can I convert and/or import .3ga Android phone Voice Recorder files to iTunes playable format?

My new Android smart phone (Samsung Galaxy S Blaze) has a pre-installed "Voice Recorder" which creates .3ga files of whatever I record with that app. But I can't find anyway to play or utilize them on my PC. I'm new to iTunes (for Windows Vista), and I'm hoping it can play these files somehow but when I drag them to the iTunes window the red circle with a line through it shows up and the file doesn't get transferred. I've also tried importing via iTunes File > Add file to library > click on file on my PC, but then after a second the "Add to Library" window disappears and the Voice file is nowhere to be found in iTunes. Any ideas are welcome. I'm pretty low tech....

Hello guys. I am very close to purchasing a Zen Vision: M 30GB MP3 Player.
My main concern is with the Voice Recording function since i wish to record
school lectures.

IPhone 4s running on ios 7.0.4 voice recorder

I have been using my iPhone on ios 6 for over a year and the voice recorder had no problems. After I updated my iPhone to ios 7 (I am currently using 7.0.4), the voice recorder showed 3 problems. First of all, it sometimes stops recording alone although I have more than 25 gb available in the memory. It also displays some of the recordings' durations as 00:00 and doesn't want to play them even though they take up part of the memory. The third problem happens when I'm listening to a recording and i try to unlock the phone for some reason. The recording stops playing alone. The ios 7 voice recorder is really disappointing and I have to use the recorder frequently. Any help? If I can't solve these problems, is there a way I can get the ios 6 voice recorder back??

It will show up depending upon the carrier. Many carriers do not allow the settings to be cganged so the settings will not appear.

We checked it with an iPhone 5 in house multiple times and could not reproduce this Problem. Must be something specific to your device. Maybe your speakerphone volume is turned down completely?

Want to use my voice recorder with my MacBook Pro

I have Olympus Voice-Trek V-11 and want to use it. The problem is that it's no longer supported by Mac. I use MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.5. I appreciate it very much if anyone knows what should I do to make my voice recorder usable with my MacBook Pro?
In other words, I'm looking for something like Apache's Open Office to MS office suit.

To do what you want, do not use Migration Assistant. You will damage OS X. Instead, you need to erase the hard drive, remove everything from your MacBook Pro and restore the Time Machine backup, so you will be upgrading to OS X Mountain Lion.
It is as simple as holding down Command and R keys while your computer is starting up. Then, connect the external drive with the Time Machine backup, choose the option to transfer a Time Machine backup and follow the steps in the display.
As you will lose everything you have in the MacBook Pro, you may want to make a backup of its files first.

Said they were busted. Reloaded all software and didn't work. Got in parking lot and worked for 1 call. Now it's out again. Wanted $150 for new phone, haven't done it yet. don't know what to do.
