NAC SNMP MAC notification traps not being sent

I have the switch set up for mac notification, and the switch has the below config. But no mac notification traps get sent to the CAM.

Below is a debug of snmp packets when a host it connected to the switch on port 1/0/24

Am I missing something in the config or something?

Hello,
Please post your SNMP receiver config on the CAM. Also, can you do a capture on the CAM to see if you're seeing the packets getting there?
To do the capture, in a SSH session, use this command: tcpdump -ieth0 'host ' -s0 -wcapture.pcap
Once you've captured the success/failure, hit Ctrl-C to kill the capture. You can then use WINSCP or any other SCP program to get that file off of the CAM for further analysis.

Faisal

  • Mac-notification traps not sent

    Our 6509 switch is not sending mac-notification traps to the NAC manager.
    The linkup linkdown traps are working however the traps specific to mac-notification are not.
    SNMP counters are not incrementing and a show mac address-table notification change indicates that there are no new notifications.
    As a result, the NAC does not know the mac address of the switchport in order to process any rules.

  • Notifications are not being sent when Bulk Load is done

    Hi All,
    I have OIM 11g setup on my machine. I use the bulk load utility for loading the user data. Now in my OIM setup, the notifications are being sent for all stuff like Reset Password. New account creation and other. However when I bulk load the users, notifications are not sent to their mail ids. I am running the scheduled job "Bulk load Post Process" which is necessary so that the users are synced to the LDAP repository. I have the LDAP Sync option checked and also the Notifications option set to yes in this scheduled job. Though the users are loaded successfully and are synced properly, the notifications are not sent. Can some one please guide me as to what could be the problem here?
    Thanks,
    $id

    The code is probably only called in the Event method of the event handler that sends the notification. You can check the mds files and find the notification you are looking for and then use a code decompiler to find the class that is called. You can then use this code as a sample, or write your own notification code and create an event handler that runs in the BulkEvent.
    And on another note there is also this System Configuration Variable: Recon.SEND_NOTIFICATION which is set to FALSE by default.

  • Subscription / Notification emails not being sent

    Hello all,
    We are unable to get emails sent from KM through our Exchange server. We are using NW04 SP12. We have configured the EMAIL and INTERNET channels with the valid Exchange server, we have configured the Channel Originators with valid email addresses. I have successfully tested via telnet to the Exchange server from the Portal app server using the originator address.
    The Subscription and Workflow Approval have been set up to use the EMAIL Channel, and I see the notifications arrive in the Notification iView, but no email gets generated. I see nothing in the log files to indicate an error. Also, the 'Send To...' does not generate emails either, although this appears to use the JavaMail Global Transport rather than the EMAIL channel.
    Is there a way to test the EMAIL Channel after getting it configured?

    Dirk,
    Thanks for the logging suggestion, we're getting closer.

  • NAC can't receive SNMP mac notification

    Hi,
    Is SNMP mac notification for switch really works with NAC OOB deployment? We have been trying to test in a POC setup for NAC where the PC with NAC agent is connected behind a Cisco and Nortel IP phones. Once the PC is disconnected behind the IP phone the NAC manager can't received snmp mac notifcation from the switch hence, the user is not automatically removed on the online users or certified devices. Were using NAC version 4.6 and C3750 switch version 12.2(35)SE2 and 12.2(35)SE5. We know there is a bug related regarding mac notification on switch ios version 12.2(25)SEC2 or lower but on stack switches. But were using standalone switches only for the testing and higher IOS version. Hope someone could help me verify on this on what specifically ios version of switch is working properly with snmp mac notification?
    Thanks!
    Wendell

    Just had it confirmed by Cisco Tac. The 12.2(50) version of code is the oldest which they say will work.
    This is from the Release Notes of NAC 4.7 and seems to explain it:
    Open Caveats NAC
    CSCsr95757
    No
    CAM intermittently stops processing SNMP MAC notification traps from the switch.
    This issue can occur on different edge switches. Once the problem is present, no further SNMP MAC notification traps are processed from the CAM for the switch in question.
    Note: There is no perfigo-log0.log.0 information, but a tcpdump from a CAM CLI session indicates that the CAM is receiving SNMP MAC notification traps.
    Workaround: To re-establish correct SNMP trap handling on the CAM, open a CAM CLI session and enter the following commands:
    service perfigo stop
    service perfigo start
    The CAM immediately starts processing the SNMP MAC notification traps from the problem switch(es).
    Note: After a period of time, however, this problem may appear again.
    FYI, the workaround didn't help in version 12.2(46) code on a 4506.
    Here is the bug information from CCO:
    CSCsr84693 Bug Details
    Incomplete MAC notification SNMP trap on 4500s
    Symptom:
    Incomplete MAC notification trap is seen in 12.2(46)SG. The trap is missing some
    fields
    4: Mon 08/04/08 20:30:54
    sysUpTimeInstance = 0d 0:04:10.83
    snmpTrapOID.0 = CISCO-MAC-NOTIFICATION-MIB!cmnMacChangedNotification
    cmnHistMacChangedMsg.3 = 02
    cmnHistTimestamp.3 = 0d 0:04:10.83
    A complete traps looks like the following:
    sysUpTimeInstance = 0d 0:07:14.16
    snmpTrapOID.0 = CISCO-MAC-NOTIFICATION-MIB!cmnMacChangedNotification
    cmnHistMacChangedMsg.2 = 01:00:01:00:11:00:22:00:33:00:47:00
    cmnHistTimestamp.2 = 0d 0:07:14.16
    Thus, in cmnHistMacChangedMsg attribute, the following fields are missing:
    MAC Address
    Dot1dBasePort
    Conditions:
    This problem is seen whenever a Mac notification trap is sent.
    Workaround:
    Use CLI "sh mac-add not change" in 12.2(46)SG.
    Use a different software release; eg., 12.2(44)SG
    Hope this helps.

  • Batch Process mail notifications not being sent

    Racking my brain on this. On our prod 9.3.1 server, we reconfigured the mail server/database. I logged in as the application owner to establish the mail in application settings. Under workspace/administer/notifications I am able to successfully send a test email.
    The emails are not being sent for any of our workspace reporting batch processes. What log would be associated with this for further review?

  • Disable SNMP mac-notification only for one snmp-server host

    Hi,
    we use NAC in our network and because of that I need the MAC-notification trap.
    My problem is, the NAC needs that trap, but my network monitoring system doesn't.
    Is it possible to disable only that trap for my monitoring?
    For the NAC I use the following command to filter all other traps:
    snmp-server host 192.168.1.1 version 2c public mac-notification
    That works!
    Is there something like
    snmp-server host 192.168.1.20 version 2c public no mac-notification
    to disable that mac-notification?
    Thanks!

    Hi Sven,
    try using the syslog discriminator - I think it should be possible with this feature but I have not had the chance to play with it:

  • Notifications are not being generated for any emails that have rules applied to them.

    Notifications are not being generated for any emails that have rules applied to them. Any clues how to fix this?

    In System Center 2012 Operations Manager, the alert notification will be sent when the alert first meets all criteria, regardless of resolution state, unless resolution state itself is a criterion. If alert suppression is enabled for the rule or monitor
    that raises an alert, only one notification will be sent when the subscription criteria are first met. No additional notifications will be sent until the alert is closed and a new alert is raised that meets all subscription criteria.  PLease check
    1) whether your rule has trun on alert supression
    2) Close the alert, craised by rule,  and do it again

  • EWA Report not being sent for two systems

    Hi Experts,
    We are having one issue in EWA Report in solution manager. Searched hard but could not find solution.
    Our solution manager is configured to provide EWA for 4 systems- ECC, BW, PI and Solution manager itself.
    The configurations are in place to the extend that we are able to view the weekly reports in Solution manager.
    Issue is -
    1. We are able to recieve mail notification for Solution Manager and ECC but not able to get for BW and PI.
    2. The ECC report is coming ok, but Solution manager report is blank.
    The places I checked the configuration -
    1. SDCCN for all systems.
    2. SOLMAN_EWA_ADMIN - all systems active and chcked for EWA
    3. Background Jobs for all systems -Maintenance Package, Refresh Session, Earlywatch Alert for Solution Manager
    4. Background Jobs related to the task including SM:EXEC SERVICES
    Later on I deleted and rescheduled the job SM:EXEC SERVICES to make sure it covers all systems.
    Data is visible in Solution Manager but report is not being sent over mail for two systems- BW and PI.
    Solution manager report is being sent but empty.
    Please suggest.

    Recently I've had a problem with my iPhone 3Gs when I forward an email that contains graphics. The graphic is fine on my iPhone but when it arrives the picture is missing. I am selecting 'include graphics'.
    I've re-booted - no change.
    I've restored from a backup - no change.
    I've restored without using the backup - no change (other than I lost a couple email accounts etc.)
    Anybody got any other suggestions?

    I have been having the same issue since late September and been in touch with Apple support since. First they said they had no other reports on it so it was my phone. I started checking and found many other with the same issue. I called back and finally in November I was told they were aware of the issue and was working on it. The first week of January I called again and was told the update first week of February was going to correct this. I did the new software update and guest what....IT STILL DOESN'T WORK!!! It is now February 14th and I am on the phone once again for the same issue that was known back in October 2009. I am paying $30 for data plan that I can not utilize 100%. My question after being patient for 5 months is who is going to refund me a portion of my data plan? Apple or AT&T?? This is a software problem that really needs addressed. Apple just releases an iPAD and can't correct this email issue??

  • Email not being sent because recipient %@ rejected

    IN the past 12 hours all my emails are going to my outbox and not being sent.  The error message I am getting is " The Reciepient "%@" was rejected by the server because it does not allow relaying"  How does one fix this

    This problem has nothing to do with her hardware or the Mail application.
    If a message cannot be successfully sent for whatever reason, it will remain in the Outbox mailbox and not be sent.
    A message moved to the account's Sent mailbox indicates the message was successfully sent by the SMTP server used to send messages with the account but is no guarantee the message will be delivered to the recipient's incoming mail server or be accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server.
    Generally, this type of problem is at the recipient's incoming mail server - the recipient's incoming mail server may be blocking all messages received from the domain for the sender's email account/address (the portion of the email address after the @ sign or blocking a range of IP addresses for which the sender is included, etc.
    The next place to check is the provider for the sender's SMTP server used to send messages with this account which is usually the email account provider but not always.
    My .Mac account is my primary email account but I use my ISP's SMTP server to send messages with my .Mac account when connected to the internet at home - not .Mac's SMTP server.

  • Mail notifications are not getting sent from a Calendar client

    Mail notifications are not getting sent from a Calendar client
    <p>
    On the client, after creating an event and electing to send a mail notification,
    the following error appears in a pop up box:
    "module:mailmsg.ctp,label 190, service error"
    Also, in the /users/unison/log/cws.log file on the Calendar Server, there is an
    error from the corresponding time that the client receives one:
    DEXOTEK ERRCODE Ox132B0 -> CWTCP_RemoteSecurityModified: RNC_SecurityModified
    -> Request 0x443 for NodeId 10002,
    status set to CANTSERVICE
    Solution:
    If this is only happening for one user, then check for the presence of a dbv.log
    file in the /users/unison/log directory. If present this implies db corruption
    and the /users/unison/bin/unidbfix tool should be run.
    Note: For details on "unidbfix", please read the man page and also the online
    Calendar Administrators Guide.

  • Cc messages not being sent

    I have just realized that mail messages I have been copying to people in the 'cc' header section of mail (version 2.1) are not being sent out. I use .Mac account.
    Any thoughts?

    Does not being sent out mean these messages remain in the Outbox?
    If a message cannot be successfully sent, it will remain in the Outbox mailbox.
    A successfully sent message will be placed in the account's Sent mailbox and a successfully sent message is either accepted or rejected by the recipient's incoming mail server.
    If rejected by the recipient's incoming mail server for whatever reason, you will received a return email error message from the recipient's incoming mail server indicating why the message was not accepted.
    If no such error message is received, this indicates the message was accepted by the recipient's incoming mail server and what happens to the message after that is beyond our control.

    Thanks!
    Jes
