Namespace URI for a Service Object

A Distributed Object registered using task.Part.ObjectLocationMgr.RegisterObject(name = '/TestSvc',object = tm, duration = DO_DURATION_SESSION) can be retrieved using task.Part.ObjectLocationMgr.BindObject(name = '/TestSvc', classType = Object). But how can I dynamically bind to a service object registered by the Forte System ? What Namespace do I need to use in ServiceName value for this ?

Forte has a build in name service where it registers all of the service objects. (And more.) If you use something before UDS 5.0 you can see the name service in E-console under the application view. UDS 5.0 even allows you to drill down into the name service as part of Econsole.
You dynamicly bind with this code if you do a little research on bindobject:
bindName : textdata = new();
myName.replaceParameters('site/%1/%1-%2', SampleProjectName_cl0, SOSampleName);
myServer = (TUBaseService)(task.Part.ObjectLocationMgr.BindObject
                    (name = bindName, classType = serverClass));
This would bind to the SOSampleName service object in the project SampleProject. Notice that the compatibility level is important.
Hope this helps.

    Subject: (forte-users) Service Object
    Hi,
    We have a class X which we would like to use it for service object andalso
    to instantiate it locally to call some methods. We would like to have
    system agents for the service object, but not for objects instantiated
    locally. In other words, if the object is used for service object, only
    then we want the agents (customized) to be initialized. How do we find out
    whether it is service object in Init method self? Service objectproperties
    (like isAnchored) or attributes (given from ServiceObject
    properties/initial values window) are set only at the end of init method.
    One workaround we could think of is start a task at the end of init method
    and also delay the execution of method. Is there any clean way of doing
    this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramarao

  • Sharing Service Objects / Partitions between applications

    I have 4 apps; to name App1, App2, App3 & App4. They all have public plans Plan1, Plan2 included. These public plans got few DBResMgrs in them. We each of these applications are released, each of them get their partitions with these DBResMgrs in it. Is there anyway I can have a single partition with these DBResMgrs and have all applications share them ? I am ready to explain further, if necessary.

    You should also have a look at reference partitions.
    Partition your first application as normal.
    When you partition your second application create a reference partition for the service objects that exist in the first application and you want to reuse.
    The resulting application will then use the first applications service objects.
    You can also look at using libraries and interfaces as well.
    The reference partition method is the quickest but the library and interface method is more usefull in the long run as you can deploy and use libraries more easily than applications.
    Cheers

    drangineni, assuming you know the service requestid or externalId of the
    Sr you are dealin gwith you would first set that value.
    ServiceRequest1[] objSRList =new ServiceRequest1[1];
    objSRList[0] = new ServiceRequest1();
    objSRList[0].ServiceRequestId = <YourSRId>;
    Then you create an array of activities and initialize the first one:
    objSRList[0].ListOfActivity = new Activity[1];
    objSRList[0].ListOfActivity[0] = new Activity();
    Now set the data fields
    objSRList[0].ListOfActivity[0].Subject ="My Subject";
    objSRList[0].ListOfActivity[0].Description ="My Description";
    objSRList[0].ListOfActivity[0].Display = "Task"; //valid values are either
    "Task" or "Appointment"
    Then call the ServiceREquestInsertOrUpdate method on the ServiceRequest
    WebService and pass in the above variable.

    Ah yes, I forgot you also need to specify a unquie Id for the activity.
    It's kinda strange.
    Try adding this:
    ServiceRequest[0].ListOfActivity[ActivityLength].ActivityId = "DummyId";
    //OD will overwrite this with a real Id
    Or if you have a unquie ID for your Activities you can use:
    ServiceRequest[0].ListOfActivity[ActivityLength].ExternalSystemId = <Your
    Unique Value>;
    Hope that helps,

    Hi all,
    I have a similar problem, but mine is returning a message that field
    "Display" is required. Looking at this post and the documentation it is
    obvious that Display is a required field, but my WSDL did not include a
    field called "Display", so my proxy did not generate one.
    I tried adding a field called Display to the WSDL and the proxy class, but
    I get a different error... I figure I maybe cannot add it manually like
    that - but I think the bigger problem is it is not part of the WSDL that
    Siebel OD generates for me in my admin account.
    On top of that Display is not shown in the list of fields for Activity
    through the admin interface.. is it possible my account is bugged? Am I
    missing something simple here? BigSlick, I see you mention a .Display in
    your code sample so I thought you might understand what is wrong. Here is
    my code (I am trying to add a activity to a lead).
    Thanks for any insight into this!
    private void InsertLeadActivity(Session session, NameValueCollection data,
    string leadID)
    try
    if (blnDebug)
    Response.Write("Setting up Activity<br>";
    // instantiate the proxy service
    Activity_Service.Activity activityProxy = new Activity_Service.Activity();
    // set up the target URL
    activityProxy.Url = session.GetURL();
    activityProxy.CookieContainer = session.GetCookieContainer();
    // set up input argument
    ActivityNWS_Activity_Insert_Input input = new
    ActivityNWS_Activity_Insert_Input();
    input.ListOfActivity = new Activity1[1];
    input.ListOfActivity[0] = new Activity1();
    if (blnDebug)
    Response.Write("Getting Data<br>";
    // dg note: name value
    // input.ListOfActivity[0].MrMrs = data["MrMrs"];
    input.ListOfActivity[0].LeadId = leadID.ToString();
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Description = DataToString(data);
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Subject = "Website Submission Activity";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Priority = "3-Low";
    //input.ListOfActivity[0].DueDate =
    DateTime.Now.AddDays(7).ToShortDateString();
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Owner = this.defaultLeadOwner;
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Type = "Call";
    //input.ListOfActivity[0].Display = "Task";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].ActivityId = "DummyId";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].ExternalSystemId = "web";
    activityProxy.Activity_Insert(input);
    catch (Exception exInsertActivity1)
    if (blnDebug)
    Response.Write("<br>Error inserting activity.<br><br>" +
    exInsertActivity1.ToString() + "<br>";

    Figured it out.. the field "Display" is also known as "Activity"........
    Here are some notes for other people.. good luck and feel free to write me
    at raskawa-at-gmail-com if you want a code sample.
    Some unpublished nice to knows for Siebel On Demand Activities....
    In summary:
    - .Activity is also known as Display in documentation and on the error
    messages coming back from the WS. Also, it appears based on these boards
    some people actually have a .Display field. Maybe different accounts
    generate different WSDL's.... buggy.
    - If a error message is thrown saying "Description is required" it really
    means "Subject is required" (make sure .Subject has a value)
    - If a error message is thrown complaining that ActionType is not right..
    that is really .Type.. make sure it's lookup value is valid for the
    dropdown values in your CRM OD system.
    My code/values that worked..
    input.ListOfActivity[0].LeadId = leadID.ToString();
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Description = DataToString(data);
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Subject = "Website Submission Activity";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Priority = "3-Low";
    //input.ListOfActivity[0].DueDate =
    DateTime.Now.AddDays(7).ToShortDateString();
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Owner = this.defaultLeadOwner;
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Type = "Call";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].ActivityId = "DummyId";
    input.ListOfActivity[0].ExternalSystemId = "web";
    //input.ListOfActivity[0].Display = "Task"; //doesn't work
    input.ListOfActivity[0].Activity = "Task"; //does work.

    Hi,
    This is surgientweb (under my own login now..)
    Anyway, I wanted to add that I figured out that there are two ways to add
    a Activity to a Lead. Via the Lead object (by getting a ListOfActivities)
    OR by creating a Activity directly and just adding your "LeadID" to it (or
    you can also add a "ContactID" to relate the activity to a Contact.)
    Feel free to email me for a code example (raskawa....at....gmail)

    Hi Stephane,
    You can definitely read the categories using Tables in CRM. The logic is a bit complicated though.
    Use the following steps to retrieve Categories using Std. CRM Tables:
    1. Pass transaction GUID in field GUID of table CRMV_REPORT_SUBJ and get KATALOGART, CODEGRUPPE and CODE field values in lv_catalog, lv_codegrp and lv_code.
    2. Now you need to concatenate these 3 fields values carefully like this:
    CONCATENATE lv_catelog lv_codegrp '    ' lv_code into lv_category1.
    Remember there are 4 spaces between lv_codegrp and lv_code.
    3. Now pass this lv_category1 in field OBJEXT in table CRMC_ERMS_CAT_OK and get OBJGUID in field lv_objguid.
    4. Pass this lv_objguid in field OBJ_GUID and LNK_TYPE = 'IS_CODE' in table CRMC_ERMS_CAT_LN and get value of CAT_GUID in lv_cat_guid.
    5. Pass this lv_cat_guid in field CAT_GUID in table CRMC_ERMS_CAT_CA and get value of CAT_ID in field lv_cat_text.
    Remember this lv_cat_text is the text value of your last level of category of transaction.
    6. To get its upper cateogry level value, simply use table CRMC_ERMS_CAT_HI and get parent guid value and pass this as CAT_GUID again in table CRMC_ERMS_CAT_CA to get its text.
    Alternatively, you can also use class method cl_crm_ml_category_util=>get_parse_all to get all levels of categories.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks
    Vishal

  • Can a web service be used as the datasource for a View Object?

    Has anyone used a web service as the datasource for a View Object?
    I am trying to do the same thing as "Publishing BC4J Components as a Web Service" example, except I want to recreate the View Objects on the client so that I can iterate through them and display them on a web page.
    I probably have two choices:
    1. Use the web service as the datasource.
    2. Use a file as the datasource with no data and then populate the View Objects from the XML from the Web Service.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Richard Catlin
    SAIC

    You can adapt the examples provided in the BC4J Toy Store demo for how to build a programmatically-populated view object to create a view object that fetches its data from a web service.
    The methods that you need to override are the same for any kind of programmatically-populated view object.

    how can this be achieved ?

    Hi Sandeep,
    I am not totallt getting your point but can suggest following points:
    1. Check whether these object are displaying in DIR's as object links.
    2. If it is there then it shoud be displayed in document data of those objects.
    3. Check that documents are properly checked-in.

  • Service Interface for the Business Objects

    Hello everyone. I'm developing a Web Service using the service interface that provide JDeveloper for their Business Objects. I have a relationship between two EO as described below:
    EntityA 1 ...... * EntityB and it is a composition relation.
    Each ID in the entities are sequencial. There is no problem for create EntityA and EntityB at the same time. My probelm is that if I want to create only EntityB. I can't use the default method provided by the AppModule, neither make a custom method like:
    public boolean createEntityB(EntityBRowImpl mayEntityB){
    //Sample code.
    }because always a new row is created, and as EntiyB is a child of EntiyA, require the father's id and of curse an error ocurr. Also, can't let someone write the ID in the foreing key of the EntiyB.
    How can I solve this please?
    Thanks in advance. Any suggestions are very wellcome.
    PS: I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.5

    The error you're hitting is presumably JBO-25030.
    Look to the "merge" command. In the parent you specify just the key of the preexisting parent record, and then in the child you specify your new child record.

    Hi,
    I would like to share with you additional information on activities 75 and 76 to the different release objects:
    To accept the service entry sheet the user has to have both
    activities 75 and 76. Please note that it is not possible to accept an entry sheet
    without activity 76.
    Activity 76 means maintain service entry sheets,
    Activity 75 means accept service entry sheets.
    In order to accept the entry sheet, you must change into the

    Thanks in advance,
    Thomas SamsAt CSI, we have planned to use HACMP with Forte' failover to provide a
    high availability architecture for one of our customer.
    There are a lot of stuff to consider, some related to hacmp
    configuration, some to forte' mechanisms.
    In particular we should use HACMP for managing RDBMS backup and Forte'
    capabilities to deal with partitions/envs/nodemgrs failover. We have not
    take into account Oracle's parallel server at the moment ( althought it
    could be a good solution ) because we don't really need to access oracle
    from 2 different nodes at the same time, but "just" to have a "realtime"
    dbms backup in case of primary server fault.
    The architecure we choosen is based on tre AIX server ( 1 application
    server, 1 main dbms server, 1 backup server ( oracle failover, envs
    failover).
    We have started testing it using forte 2.0.h, but we realized that a
    more complete functionality will be offered using 3.0 KEEP_ALIVE
    features. So I could give you more feedback in the near future.
    What type of solution have you in mind ?

  • Changing SOAP Namespace for Web Service

    Hi Experts,
    Got a requirement to modify the SOAP namespace for a BAPI program exposed as a web service on SAP.
    The fieldd denoting the SOAP namespace is accessible via transaction SE80 and navigating under: Package Name>Enterprise Services>Service Definitions> and double clicking on the exposed web service and selecting "Properties".
    The SAP SOAP namespace provided by default is: urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions
    Is anyone aware of a means to modify this namespace on the web service? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
    Regards,
    Lionel

    hi tan,
    Although the SOAP Runtime is generally designed for RFC-type calls, it can also be used to access Web Services that are not implemented in a Web AS. For example, the Google search engine offers some services using SOAP, which can be accessed from the SAP Web AS.
    Naming Conventions
    The SOAP Runtime offers three methods of representing the original ABAP names (everything in upper case and separated by underscores) as data types in XML. Each method is associated with a different XML namespace:
    urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions – this is the canonical representation, which means that all names in the XML document are represented as they are in ABAP on a 1:1 basis. For repeating groups (such as the rows of a table), an XML element with the tag name item is generated (in writing) and expected (in parsing).
    urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:uc-style – this naming convention is similar to the first one, with the difference that instead of item, the name of the structure of the table row is generated or expected.
    urn:sap-com:document:sap:soap:functions:mc-style – this third convention also involves conversion of the upper case ABAP names to mixed case (both upper and lower case), according to the following algorithm: All characters except the first one are implicitly in lower case, and the underscore acts as a Shift key to effect an upper case character. RFC_SYSTEM_INFO thus becomes RfcSystemInfo. The addition of an initial underscore makes the first character lower case: RFCSYSTEM_INFO thus becomes rfcSystemInfo. An underscore character is transferred by adding an additional underscore: RFC__SYSTEM_INFO thus becomes Rfc_systemInfo.
    When using the SOAP Runtime caller side, note the following points regarding the naming convention:
    If the called Web Service is implemented in the Web AS 6.20, always use the namespace convention urn:sap-com:document:sap:rfc:functions. The namespace for the SOAP method must also be set according to this convention. To do this, specify the importing parameter nsvalue of the method set_method in the class CSoapDocument.
    Setting the namespace of the naming convention for the SOAP method does NOT automatically mean that the SOAP Runtime also sets the naming convention for serialized SOAP messages. As a developer, you must ensure that the naming conventions are followed. To do this, you can use the methodsset_tag_name_format and set_item_name_format:
    The method set_tag_name_format of the class CSoapDokument can be used to control the upper case or mixed case naming convention for tags that correspond to ABAP data types. To activate the normal ABAP format (upper case), use the value CSoapConstants=>ic_tagfmt_default for the importing parameter format. To switch to the mixed format, use the value CSoapConstants=>ic_tagfmt_mixcase.
    The method set_item_name_format of the class CSoapDokument is used to control the use of the tag name for repeating groups in ABAP data types (table rows). To implement the structure name of the table row, set the value CSoapConstants=>ic_itemfmt_default for the importing parameter format.  To use item as a tag, set the value CSoapConstants=>ic_itemfmt_useitem.
    All names passed to the API must be in a format that is expected by the server side. This affects the importing parameter name of both the methods set_method and add_parameter of the class CSoapDocument. The SOAP Runtime caller side does not perform any conversion of these names. The document class on the calling side does NOT take into account the namespace you have selected here.
    You should only implement the mixed case naming convention where it is necessary. This particularly applies when calling external Web Services, over the structure of which you have no control.
    Sending the SOAP Header in the Call
    The SOAP Framework does not provide general support for the handling of SOAP Header elements.
    However, for calling external Web services, it is sometimes sufficient to be able to send simple Header entries as part of the request. In this special case, you can use the class CSoapDocumentHeader.
    An instance of the class can be filled using the methods set_header_as_string or set_header_as_dataref. Using the method add_header, it can then be added to an instance of the class CSoapDocument, and is then serialized as a part of the document instance when the call is made.

  • Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion

    I was able to call the services on the development box - windows server without any problem at all, everything was working fine but the moment i uploaded to a linux box production server I get this error. "Could not generate stub objects for web service invocation in ColdFusion"
    What could be the cause of this problem, i have googled a lot but no solution yet any ideas.

    Let me make it simple:
    1. Server A is our development server.- hosted inhouse with coldfusion installed.
    2. Server B is our production server - a linux server with coldfusion installed hosted on the internet
    3. Server C is a third party server containing the webservice - this is a windows server with .net
    coldfusion is installed on Server A, the code works here and can connect to server C without any problem. It gets the required respone
    but when the code was uploaded to server c it gives the error when we run it.
    now i tried just a simple code which works fine on server A below:
    <cfinvoke webservice="http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL" method="ConversionRate" returnvariable="ConversionRateResult">
        <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
        <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    </cfinvoke>
    <cfdump var="#ConversionRateResult#" />
    But when i uploaded it to server C: it returns the error
    Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation.
    Name: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. WSDL: http://www.webservicex.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WSDL. java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory) It is recommended that you use a web browser to retrieve and examine the requested WSDL document to ensure it is correct. If the requested WSDL document cannot be retrieved or is dynamically generated, it is likely that the target web service has programming errors.
    The error occurred in /home/works/public_html/currency.cfm: line 7
    5 :     <cfinvokeargument name="FromCurrency" value="EUR" />
    6 :
    7 :     <cfinvokeargument name="ToCurrency" value="USD" />
    8 :
    9 : </cfinvoke>
    Now if you try the preceeding code on a windows environment  it works fine but the moment you put in the in the linux environment it generates this error
    I feel that the error may actually be :
    java.io.FileNotFoundException: /opt/coldfusion8/stubs/WS728929035/NET/webserviceX/www/Currency.java (No such file or directory)
    but i am clueless as to what to do next
    Ok so I tried the wget command on the linux
    this is what i got
    -bash-3.2# wget http://www.webservicesx.net/CurrencyConvertor.asmx?WDSL

  • Service object for VF02, FB30 etc

    Hello
    Can anyone help me? We need to have srvice objects to our users.
    I found out, that if we are going to user settings:
    SD_SWU_ACTIVE                 Activate Workflow Box in VA02 & VA03
    We activate service object, so users can attach documents etc. Can we have the object in a role?
    It isn't possible for us to make service objects in all transaktions: VA42, VF02, ME22N, FB03 ME32K etc. - How can it be possible?
    Kind regards
    Lone

    Not sure about Role but once you SD_SWU_ACTIVE Activate, it will be available in all transactions.

    I just noticed the exact same thing. It turns out that the httpd-ssl.conf file on my system is still the old v2.2 syntax, which means that the SSLMutex directive is still in there. This is an invalid directive after 2.2.
    This is where things get interesting. At first, I simply thought I had forgotten to merge httpd-ssl.conf.pacnew after apache had been upgraded to 2.4. However, when I check my pacman.log, it appears that httpd-ssl.conf was never upgraded when apache went to 2.4 - (2.2.26-1 -> 2.4.7-1). There was never a pacnew file generated to be merged.
    I took a look at the apache package via the abs and the "proper" httpd-ssl.conf is certainly in there, so why pacman never created a pacnew file is a mystery.
    Anyway, to fix this: pull the httpd-ssl.conf from the apache package, either from your cache, using the abs and building it, or (I think) pacman may re-install it if you move the file to a backup location (not sure about this). Then merge your original httpd-ssl-conf with the new one.
