Service Interface for the Business Objects

Hello everyone. I'm developing a Web Service using the service interface that provide JDeveloper for their Business Objects. I have a relationship between two EO as described below:
EntityA 1 ...... * EntityB and it is a composition relation.
Each ID in the entities are sequencial. There is no problem for create EntityA and EntityB at the same time. My probelm is that if I want to create only EntityB. I can't use the default method provided by the AppModule, neither make a custom method like:
public boolean createEntityB(EntityBRowImpl mayEntityB){
//Sample code.
}because always a new row is created, and as EntiyB is a child of EntiyA, require the father's id and of curse an error ocurr. Also, can't let someone write the ID in the foreing key of the EntiyB.
How can I solve this please?

The error you're hitting is presumably JBO-25030.
Look to the "merge" command. In the parent you specify just the key of the preexisting parent record, and then in the child you specify your new child record.

Hello to all,
I have tried to install the WAS on the NetWeaver 7.2 platform for the Business Objects XI 4.0 SP1.
Ok, more preciselly. I have tried to install SP1 for the Business Objects Enterprise XI 4.0. We have had a distributed installation. An application is under the Windows 2k8 R2 platform and the web server (WAS) is under the Unix, where runs the SAP NewWeaver 7.2 CE.
Installation of the SP1 on the application side has ran just fine. Installation of SP1 under Unix went fine as well till I tried to undeploy the previouse one WAS. At first it could not start, it could not find the java, even the wdeployGUI.sh should use its own java, while it happens. I have edited a profile of the appropriate user for using this "own" java. The same I had to do for the pearl. It ran, but It took a very long time - more than two hours. (We have experience from the base installation, that it supposed to be very quick.) So, I have killed three apropriate processes and wav, undeploying ended successfully.
Next, I started to deploy a new WAS. But it has been broken several times with the information (from the <INSTALL PATH>/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/wdeploy/logs/wdeploy.log), It could not reach the server with the error message: "Error occurred during the action deployall", "$". I am sure, the acess datas are correct.
Any ideas?
I thing there is some problem with the java and pearl settings. But I can not find relevant webappdeploy_unix document for the SP1, so I do not know, why the deploying could not start automatically as in the case of the base (non SP) installation.

Universe is an important part of the Semantic Layer, whether it is version 3.x or version 4.x of SAP BusinessObjects. In version 4.0 (officially known as BI 4.0), you will be using the new Information Design Tool to build universe. It is highly recommended for all of your presentation tools (i.e. WebI, Crystal, Xcelsius/Dashboard, etc) to go through the new Information Design Tool for data (including BW data).
The BI 4.0 Virtual Launch is scheduled on Feb 23. I suggest you to sign up at http://virtualevents.sap.com/business-analytics/login.aspx.
By the way, the SAP BusinessObjects does not have a version 3.2. The most current one is version 3.1. You might be confused with the FixPack which is now up to 3.4.

I am trying to use the Service interfaces of ESR available in ESA ECC-SE 604 and a few in SAP APPL 6.04.
How can we choose the GDT,Business objects or Service interfaces for the requirments?
Can we know which package provides which objects like what are the available things in ESA ECC-SE 604 and when should PI or ECC use it.
I am trying to create functional location Service interface(Installation Point ) and Equipment (Indivisual Material) for untillities requirment.

Generic approach to call a method for any business object

My requirement is to call the DISPLAY method of a business object when I have the objectType and objectId.
Say I have BUS2012 and Id 4500001111, now I want to call a method which invoke the DISPLAY method for this object with objectId (say ME_DISPLAY_PURCHASE_DOCUMENT for purchase order). I even have the key fields for the business object.
Is it possible ?

Hi Ruhi,
Yes you can call the method for display.Before we can do that we need to fix the procedure for the calling of the method.If you want to call it programitically or you want to call it in task builder or you want to use it as a activity in the work item.we can check for the BUSXXXXXX what ever number is there and we can also check for the activity type pre defined by SAP for it.If suppose you dont have the activity we can create the method for the BOR object type using SWO1.May be it helps your query.

Business Content Objects on BI side for the business content data sources

We are doing a fresh implementation, and would like to know the step by step way through which i can know the relevant business content objects on BW side for a BC data sources ,,,,,
0material_attr
and 0mat_sales_Attrt
As Per my understanding, once installed the BC data sources, the data would be feed to the master data info object 0material
But the question is how do i know the complete Business content object on BW / BI side, and use the same building the entire flow.
I have a hint that we can know it through the help.sap.com, and it would be highly appreciated and awarded for your expertises guidence, i have tried sercing in it, but dont know the correct trick.
Even for the other business content data sources.
Example, the relevant infoobject or the DSO or the Cube,transformation, dtp,etc..

Do you mean this way in the meta data repository, it will propose the flow for the business content object, and if yes, then even if they are in delivery version and not in active version, still it shall propose the flow for the business content objects,
And to cut short my requirement, as specified we are doing the fresh implementation,
and i have identified that we would require first to load the material master data, and based on our present requirement, the data source which i have identified are
0material_attr (for the table mara in ECC system)
0mat_sales_attr (for the table mvke in ECC system)
all the fields data would be loaded to which master data info object,
will it be 0material or ????

Where to Look for the Service Interface in the Start Step?

I have defined a Service interface in the start step, now I want to use the same in my Web Dynpro Application to pass data and start the BPM . Where can I look at the interface generated and BPM deployed I ddn't use any WSDL but created the same using the SI tool help in BPM.
DO I have to do any other setting and or publishing the same in Registry etc.

everytime i looked up the location of an deployed WSDL i used the "Single Service Administration" in the NWA. In that tool you can search for the name of the WSDL-Interface which you connected to the startevent of your bpm-process. In a option downside the Single Service Administration you can open the WSDL which opo ups in a new browser. Copy that URL from the opened window and cut somthing like &=ws_policy at the end of the URL.
You can start a Process with this URL if you send a propper SOAP-Message to it. You don't need to publish the Service in the Service Registry to use it.

Problem to deploy to a WebService interface for ADF Business Components to Weblogic Server

I'm trying to deploy a custom application ,in which i have exposed ADF Business Components through a WebService interface, to a standalone weblogic server.
Application Module is configured with a Service Interface for ordinary ViewObjects.
Now I want to create a EAR file of this application to deploy it on the weblogic server.
But I got an error while deploying it.The error i am getting is shown below.
ERROR: No Java EE modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted. == (oracle.jdevimpl.deploy.ear.WeblogicAssembler)

Integration directory : select IDOC interface for WAS business system

Hi,
While adding a receiver determination for an WAS business system, I do not get any IDOC based message interface from the design repository proposed for my business system in the popup dialog.
The only interfaces that appear are for the non SAP standard SWCV that we added to the business system. But no interface for the APPL 5.0 SWCV ( or BASIS 7.0 ) appears.
In the SLD this component is correctly listed for that WAS .
If I remove all the default search criteria , eventually, the in terface appears but after selecting it I get a message saying :
"Message Interface does not exist in any software components installed on this business system "
Since everything looks ok in the SLD I'm puzzled. How does this look on other systems ?
Any ideas
( The business system was updated from APPL 4.70 / BASIS 6.40 to APPL 5.0 / BASIS 7.00 some time ago but I don't know how it look before the upgrade of the business system )

Yes, It's correctly listed. I did not manually link these components to the technical/business system. This happened automatically by the SLD data collector service. I also cleared the SLD cache several times,

NWDS import RFC interface for the structure issue??

Hi Gurus,
I'm working on the SAP NetWeaver BPM with NWDS 7.3 SP12 rite now and got confused about the RFC interface structure stuff.
I have a mapping activity defined in the process and the receiver interface needs a RFC. So I go to "Process Modeling" -> "Services Interfaces", right click and choose "Import RFC",type the correct RFC/BAPI name connecting with the SAP ECC system. The issue is that when I finished importing the RFC, went to the "Data Types", the RFC interface namespace shows out but the structure shows seperately with individual segment, so the whole nested RFC interface structure messed up in parallel which is incorrect for the data object and output mapping for later process activities.
Anyone has ran into such kind of issue or experience the same, any solution or suggestion?

Another two questions relates to NWDS BPM development:
1. Sometimes after I import the service interface into NWDS, the structure displays differently from it defines in ESR, I mean the fields sequence. I dont know why
2. Refer to your screenshot,
Assume the occurence of node HEADER and item is (0..1), when I want to map a blank constant to them to generate the target structure, the editor not allows and display error which is very different with ESR mapping tool, could you please help to advise? Tons of thanks!

Hi Jeff,
If you have installed Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 on your machine from CD, follow the steps to install the Live Office,
1. Navigate to the Add-Ons\Live Office folder on the BusinessObjects Enterprise collaterals CD or locate the Live Office setup.exe file on your network.
2. Double-click setup.exe to launch the Live Office Installation Wizard.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions in the Live Office Installation Wizard to complete the installation procedure.
You can also download the collaterals for Business Objects Enterprise XI R2 by logging in the service.sap.com and following the following steps,
1. Click on the SAP Support Portal link, and then go to Downloads Tab and click on the 'SAP Software Distribution Center'.
2. In the middle of the page you will get the 'Search for Software' link, click on that link.
3. In the Search type 'Collaterals' and click search.
4. You will get the Collaterals for BOBJ Enterprise XI R2 SP2 and SP4 for Windows.

Error while generating the Business Object in Mobile Sales

Hi,
I made changes to the Business Object BOCAPGEN.
Now I am trying to generate the business object but it is giving out the error saying
Error intializing RT Generator !.RT Generator Failed for ".Error arsrep.dat is in use so Generation cannot be done
I am not a MSA Developer and have no clue regarding MAS(Mobile Application Studio)
So any one can please give me a clue regarding the issue
I have solved it by closng all other application other than client console

1 year later, I am facing the same problem.
I want to build MSA 4.0 SP8, everything runs fines until the end of the generation of the Tiles, the next step fails :
Error intializing RT Generator !.RT Generator Failed for ".Error arsrep.dat is in use so Generation cannot be done
Then around 10 thousands of error messages of that kind follow in the output window ; howeverin the end it says "Generation End" without telling whether it was successful or not (the first time the output window was too small, I thought all was OK )
Anyways, the Mobile Sales icon appeared on the desktop and when I try to launch it I get the error "Starting MobileSalesfailed".
During another attempt, I check with "Unlocker" the 2 arsrep.dat files I found under the BOL directory, it reported that none was used and locked at that moment.
Also I killed the vbagen.exe process before starting the build, but it was automatically launched after. (first build was launched after a reboot, the 2nd after the 1st failed + vbagen.exe process killed)
Does anyone have any clue ?
Another question is : what are the rights required ? I am a local administrator but I do not have full admin rights (the only thing I saw at the moment is I cannot access to Add/Delete Programs in the Control Panel)

I couldn't find any useful documents for your purpose.
However i had a similar requirement and had implemented the same using GCP APIs. But before i send you the code help, i would like to know your exact requirement. What are you trying to achieve? Are you just wanting to execute the BO and get the result? Or is your requirement has got something more to do?
