Navbar dropdown menu
Hi!
Hoping someone can help....
I currently have a wesite setup with a navbar as a list. I now need only 1 (and maybe another later down the road) of those li's to have a "dropdown" or "popout" menu of some sort. The one that says "Find a Designer" needs to have a submenu that reads the two menus of "Design Connection" and "General Directory" with links to their respective pages.
I have worked with the spry and widget vertical menu bars, but this is already setup so I don't want to have to redo it. Is there another way to do this?

In order to have a SpryMenuBar, you will need to use Spry's naming convention.
If I were in your position, I would insert a Spry vertical menubar, change the markup to suit and use the existing style rules and translate them using Spry's names.

Iweb + dreamweaver CS4 + dropdown menu not working on all pc's
I created a dropdown-menu on CS4 DW, pasted it in html doc. and is part of my iWeb created site.
Looks ok on apple: safari/firefox/iphone.. but on any pc does not matter which browser, it looks awfull, and the jumpmenu simply is not working.. what can I do to correct this?
Thanks.By jumpmenu are you referring to the navbar at the top? It's well known that IE is not friendly with iWeb's navbar. The workaround for that is to create your own Text Based Navbar.
As far as the drop down menu, is it java based or html based? I'm not familiar with what does an does not work with IE as I don't do windows so can't help you anymore there. -
This issue is similar to issue 510902 in this forum. On our website we have a Dropdown listed in a table and then we pull in PDF files into the body of the page which is setup like a frame. However, when a PDF is being pulled in (not using any target) the dropdown menu hides behind the PDF. I have tried setting the PDF in an IFrame and the same thing takes place. We also have tried placing different targets around the PDF but the same thing happens. I have been reading everywhere where this is an issue but no fix. Does Adobe have an answer to this?

CSS (Responsive) Horizontal Dropdown Menu (Alignment)
I am styling a Responsive CSS Horizontal Dropdown Menu (for hours now), and can not get the main menu headings (Directory, Resources, etc) to align left (even) with the logo and content divs. I would also like the submenu headings (Learning & Games) and items (Catch the Bullet, Snoopydoo, etc) to align left (even) with the logo and content divs. - Like I am trying to do with the main headings. --I am trying to get the logo, main menubar heading, and menubar subheading to all align the same left.
(Optional) I am considering on not having the gray menuboard span the whole screen when opened. Not sure if this would look good, but even more unsure how to keep it in the 90% container the menubar is located in.

It seems very helpful, but like this navbar, I'm gonna have to spend some time with. I think this may help me to figure the problem. This is a really GREAT trick, thanks. BTW, crammed some more learning recently (Mostly Dreamweaver, little HTML STructure, and JQuery). Going to try to not use as many divs, (use HTML tags and class selectors). Trying to use captions in my HTML and CSS for organization and understanding. Making copies of all my CSS, JS, and HTML. Set my areas (divs) up as 'section,aside,article,and footer'?--Tried adding metatag info (I think I missed 1 part of the metatag (they wanted a value?). Not sure if my metatagging is correct? Let me know of any advice what I'm doing right/wrong so far.
I taught myself to design using divs like tables somehwat. With the correct way of design (not using alot of divs)..how would I handle this?...
My old page (method), I had several,divs: 3- (content75%) and 3- (image25%) all housed within a div (approx 900px). Content was left, and images right. Total DIV that housed them was 75% of 1232px page? (I think)..The div that housed them was approx 900px (.75x1232). Content approx 675px and image approx 225px wide.
I inseted 480px wide images in that 25% image div and it showed it nicely as approx 225px wide on desktop, and when responsive on mobile, nice full size at 480px. (I think I am/was avoiding having to use alternative images--for each platform-- this way?)
With the correct way of designing (less divs), how would I handle this scenario above? IF I inserted a 480px image into a approx 900px div with no other divs, it would fill the div with a 480px image. IT would then throw my wole design off. I think I'm just missing some HTML/CSS knowledge. Hope this question makes some kind of sense? -

I need to be able to extract all values from the dropdown menu; I know how to get all those values as a string, but I need to be able to access each item; (the value in a dropdown menu will change dynamically)
How do I get number of item is selection dropdown?
How do I extract a ?name? for each value, one by one?
How do I change a selection by referring to particular index of the item in a dropdown menu?

I can find the element based on its name or any other attribute, I just need to specify what I am looking for. To find it by name I would do the following:

If I want to search by id I could do the following:

Usually you will use whatever is available. Since the select element has no name or ID on the Empirix home page, I used the onChange attribute. You can use any attribute as long as you specify which one you are using (last argument in these examples)
You can use the FindElement to grab links, text boxes, etc.
The next example grabs from a link on a page
Home
Set x = RSWApp.om.FindElement("Home","A","innerText")

How to create a dropdown menu with sub buttons that link back to the labels on click.
im trying to create a dropdown menu buttons that when you rollover to the top central button the button it opens up like a drop down menu would containg two other subsectional buttons. This makes the sub sectional buttons seperate from the main stage making it difficult to simply give them a on click, sym.play("label") function.

I've been looking at Premiere's templates, which I can certainly customize, but I really don't see how to create the double menu. Does anybody have an idea?
Put the video with the first language on the timeline followed by the video with the second language. Use chapter markers so you can have each video as a chapter in the menu.
I use Premiere Pro, so I can't give more specific directions. Perhaps somebody like ATR will chime in.
Also, I have another question: can I put videos from different projects in the same DVD with Premiere or must all of the videos that go into the DVD be in the same project?

When I try to bookmark a page the dropdown menu only shows 4 of my many bookmark folders.
I have a heck of a lot of bookmark folders. These show up in the dropdown menu when I click on Bookmarks in the toolbar. However just today when I try to bookmark a web page, I only am given offered four folders in which to file the bookmark. Clicking on "choose" doesn't show any folders at all that I've created. Same thing when I open MF in safe mode with addons not enabled.
If I click on "Bookmarks menu" in the bookmark window then click on the arrow to chose a file, I see an odd assortment of random bookmarks and files.
To complicate matters, perhaps: This morning Firefox went crazy. Details don't matter now. I followed instructions in MF support and saved critical files. Then uninstalled and reinstalled a new copy of MF. Created a new profile and moved critical files into it.
Am I missing a file? Is something corrupted? (How would I find it?) Why would MF not see my folders when asked to file a bookmark?

Does anyone know how to enable/disable a dropdown menu in Forms at runtime?
Is there a way how to disable/enable dropdown menu for menus that have multiple sub levels in Oracle Forms? I am trying to use the set_menu_item_property function but this takes 'menu.item' format for the first argument. I am trying to enable/disable a menu item in the form of 'menu.item.subitem' and was not able to do it using this function. If anyone knows a different function or method, please reply. I have shown an example below.
Setup -> Software -> Front Page
From the above example, I can enable/disable Software using set_menu_item_property function. But, how do I enable/disable the Front Page menu in Oracle forms at runtime?

Hi,
I am wondering how to create the Dropdown menu in APEX 4.0. Similar to the Oracle Application Express Homepage or the one gets created in any Websheet Application. I have tried to use the List but unable to place into the right position (Display Point) to get similar look and feel in Theme 2. Builder Blue.

The dropdown menu from the Creative Cloud icon on the menu bar keeps giving me the following message: "Download Error" I quit and restarted the creative cloud app to no avail. Running Mavericks on a mid 2011 iMac.
Try below steps once
click Gear icon on the top Right corner and Quit Creative Cloud App
Click on Finder and then hold Command + Shift + G keys on your keypad
It will open Go to folder window, type exactly ~/Library and click on Go
Make sure to open ~/Library not /Library ( there will be two Library folders )
Then open Application Support > Adobe folders
Trash AAMUpdater and OOBE folders.
Then launch Creative Could and check. -
Resetting a dropdown menu selection
I am using a dropdown menu as a form of navigation between screens. On screen one you drop the menu down and can choose to go to screen two. However, when I come back to screen one the drop down menu remains on the "Screen Two" option. Is there
any way to reset the drop down menu to say"Screen One" upon leaving the page?
Thank you!The only way I know about is to reset dropdown each time you navigate back to Screen1. To do that just set a variable in screen1 property
OnVisible
UpdateContext({active: true})
and in screen1 property OnHidden
UpdateContext({active: false})
Then in dropdown visual add this in Items
If(active=true, .... your data source here ...)
Or perhaps easiest way is instead of resetting datasource of dropdown, you can reset dropdown default by adding this into
Default property of dropdown

one can assume that you are not very experienced with DW or
even with HTML.
In that case, the practical answer to your question would be
"no".
To create a 'drop-down' menu, you need to have a full web
page (not just an
image with image maps), containing a menu HTML structural
element. While
you *could* just place hidden elements on the page that would
only be
revealed (i.e., drop-down) when your image maps are rolled
over, the
practical reality is that this would be an extremely awkward
construct, and
not only most likely beyond the ken of someone who is
inexperienced, but
also just plain 'not right'.

it creates a drop down in the Excel.
But writableCellFeature.setDataValidationList(unallowCodeList); has a limitation of characters .So the dropdown menu gets truncated when it exceeds the limitation.
Can anyone help me in creating dropdown menu in excel without any limitation using JXL..

I dont know the solution for this, but heres a work arround
//create new label some where else in the excel sheet as shown below
Label lblcmbdata;
for(int i=0; i<1000; i++)
lblcmbdata = new Label(75, i, (i+1)+" satish", format);
sheet1.addCell(lblcmbdata);
}//set the validation range as shown below
writableCellFeature.setDataValidationRange(75,0,75,1000);
Label cmb = null;
cmb = new Label(0, 1, "Select",format);
cmb.setCellFeatures(writableCellFeature);
sheet.addCell(cmb);this will create a combo list with 1000 values
also you can keep the data to be populated in the different sheet in same workbook by creating a named range as below
workbook.addNameArea("cmbdata", sheet1, 0, 0, 0, 1000);
// then fill the data in sheet1
