NcReset after ncCreateNotification causes crash. Is there a workaround?

I call multiple instances of ncCreateNotification on both Network Interface Objects and Objects. Afterwards, when I call ncReset(), the following appears:
"Unhandled exception in xxx.exe (NICANFRM.DLL) 0xC00000005; Access Violation.
I am using NI-CAN 2.0 on Windows 2000.
If I comment out the call to ncCreateNotification for the Object but leave the ncCreateNotification for the Network Interface Object alone, then ncReset works fine.
Is there a workaround for this problem?

I was closing all of the objects on the channel that I was resetting. However, I was not closing the objects on the other channel of the card. After closing the other objects, ncReset did not crash.
ncReset is typically used to recover from an error condition. It should be a safe operation to perform at any time; it especially should never result in a crash.

After I run my program (which uses several call library function nodes to access numerous dll files) and then try to alter the properties of a front panel control labview crashes. Sometimes it simply locks up, other times it displays a recoverable error message, and finally sometimes it displays a hard error message from which I cannot recover and only send an "error report." While the errors are annoying I really want to know why changing the properties causes them which may lead me to other problems in my code. Thanks for any thoughts you can provide.

Well here you go. Calling a DLL and then getting (delayed) crashes in
LabVIEW absolutely always means that the DLL is trashing some memory it
shouldn't. This either happens by passing wrong data (DLL expects by
reference and you pass by value) or arrays and string not initialized or
not intialized to be large enough. Last but not least the DLL of course
can just simply be buggy and do stupid things.
So you will have to verify somehow that the DLL works correct outside of
LabVIEW. If you have verified that, then you need to check all
parameters of all function calls into the DLL to be correct and also
large enough for the DLL.
Especially make sure that for strings you allocate 1 more byte than the
longest string the DLL may want to write into, and for arrays that you
allocate the right number of elements of the right type. Sometimes the
documents state that the array must be at least 100 elements long but if
this is an integer then that amounts actually to 400 bytes.

Not really. A DLL should not depend on being unloaded to be callable
again. But the error you describe could be because of several reasons.
Basically make sure you call any existing Close or similar function at
the end as well as initialization function in the beginning. Also the
error could be related to the DLL trashing memory somewhere. So try to
get the DLL to work properly without any bad effects after having it run
once including no crash when unloading the VI, closing any front panel,
doing some LabVIEW edit functions or last but not least closing LabVIEW.

After Effects CS6 crashes, causing my iMac to restart.
I want to buy AE CS6, so I downloaded the 30-day trial version.
I followed all the instructions to install it properly and followed several tutorials to optimize it for my computer.
This is what I use:

Based on everything I've read, my iMac has all the system prerequisites to use AE, and all the other programs that I use for video and audio recording and editing ( Final Cut X, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Photoshop CS6, etc. ), work perfectly, run smoothly and never crash.
After Effects CS6 crashes constantly, causing the computer to restart. It seems to run smoothly, then I start a render and it crashes; or I start a color correction with Curves and it crashes. Each and every time the computer restarts by itself.
I've tried rendering smaller portions of video at a time, sometimes it finishes the rendering, sometimes not.

Your post is not much use to anyone. You are not telling us anything about your operating system, storage locations, output settings and whatever else may be relevant. The magic sauce is all in the details, not a generic assumption that this would be some bug or known issue.

I swipe it away and start over, only to have the same thing happen again. I have reinstalled all the apps, rebooted, synced and re-synced with iTunes. This is VERY irritating!

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

The Packaged are already there on the server as the RHEL software DVD is copied on the server.

   I 've Downloaded the new sabyon* and Other rpms from the net and tried to install them with rpm or yum command but

   with yum am getting this error

I 've Tried searching on google as well for at least 10 hours but did not get any help from it so far.
The Reinstallation of OS is not AN Option for me rightnow.

Reinstalling Audition after Windows 7 crash/corruption

My Audition CS5.5 went down after a Windows 7 blue screen crash and won't run now. I understand that I'm entitled to reinstall it from Adobe's web site but would like to know how to do that. I hope reisntalling will fix the problem, which is the latest of many that I've had with Adobe CS5.5. Should I uninstall current corrupted version? Will I have any trouble with the web site allowing me to download it again?
I'm posting this to the forum because I have had NO LUCK with Adobe's help site or customer service personnel on ANY of my problems with Adobe CS5.5. Also, this is the first time I've ever been able to find my way into the forum posting area and I wanted to try it, since I'm not sure I'll be able to find my way back here. The site is so confusing that Adobe's own representative had trouble with it. I'm holding on to the hope that there is a user out there who can help me.

Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and then download your software using this method:

Also clean out the prefs. In fact that should be the first thing to try - if they got corrupted, they can easily cause crashes. Check your C:\Users\You\AppData\roaming\Adobe folder. And also check your system audio configuration and driver. Obviously flakey config there might be relevant for an audio processing program...

After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in "Looks" URGENT!

My name is Tyler and i'm a Mult-Media Editor in training. Just recently meaning just this project i've been getting this error "After Effects error: crash occurred while invoking effect plug-in “Looks”." every time i try to render. If i try to remove the clip where it messes up and replace it with another it will just mess up in another spot.

I've read other forums and watched tutorials. I've already done the following. (Not in order used)
1. Downgrade Magic Bullet Looks from 1.4.3 to 1.4.2 (Didn't Work)
2. Upgrade Magic Bullet Looks to MBL 2.0 from Magic Bullet Suite 11 (Didn't Work)
3. Uninstall my gfx card and re-install it with the newer version (Didn't Work)
4. Reset AE preferences by pressing alt+shift+ctrl on the shortcut (Didn't Work)
5. Change render settings from H.264 -> .AVI (Didn't Work)
6. I've deleted "AE_OpenGL" from my After Effects folder (Didn't Work)

I've never had this problem before and hope that someone has a solution to this problem... if so please post an answer. I don't know if its because i put the plug in on all of my clips and then made an adjustment layer with another Magic Bullet Looks or if it's my clips fault but i just dont know what to do.

It sounds like Looks is only crashing on this project. If that is so then it's most likely a problem with one of your video clips. Either there's a corrupted frame or some other codec glitch that's throwing the errors. I'd suggest replacing footage items with temporary footage. You could even use solids. Replace one at a time, then undo, until you find the footage that's causing the crash. Then either re-compress that footage to another codec or replace it.
If Looks is crashing on every type of footage then you need to pursue other options that are more system related.

After Effects CS5 crashing when I try to make a new comp

First it was crashing when I imported files, now I fixed that but it's crashing when I try to make a new comp (may affect other things too, that's just what I noticed). It was working fine for 3+ months until now and I haven't had anyway software or hardware changes. I recently installed a video copilot plugin, but it was working for a few days then started crashing.
I'm running on a Core i7 950 3.07ghz, 6GB DDR3 1600 RAM, 500gb SATA harddrive, and a GTX 465 graphics card.
It didn't give any error message, the only info I got was a windows message saying to look in my temporary app data. I looked herebut there was just a few XML files that listed my computer specs and a few AE stuff. I deleted them and it still didn't work.

Have you installed the After Effects CS5 (10.0.2) update? The recent updates fix a lot of problems.

Which one? There have been problems with Video Copilot plug-ins causing crashes. Make sure that you thave the most recent updates.
Try not using that plug-in, and see if you still get crashes.
Also make sure that your graphics card drivers are up to date.

F command causes crash

Sometimes when I use the F-command (Find) (on a Mac) it causes a crash. I get this message:

I use AVC intra 100 1080i. Files are in MTS format. I´m doing a one hour doc. Editing has gone fine for a couple of months, but then some clips started rendered these crashes. There is nothing unusual with these clips, they have been working fine like all others. I have not moved them or nothing. And I cant foresee which ones are coming up next.
My solution is to encode the files to prores. After that they dont crash anymore.
I called the Adobe support. They said that the problem was my USB portable disk. But I have had this setup for six months prior and it has been fine.

I'm using CS4 ONLY because I have a 32 bit Windows 8.1 computer which has Nvidia GFX card and an i5 processor.
It has 4GB of RAM and that's all you need to know. Please help me guys. <3

No. There is no way they could do that. Especially not in CS4.
There are a lot of people in the same situation as you who pop on the forums with some frequency. Well, not usually trying to run such an old version - it's usually CS5 or CS5.5, but the issues are similar: odd error messages. Trying to run old versions of software on new, unsupported operating systems can be a fun exercise (like getting Linux installed on a potato). However, even if it does work for a while, the least little thing can cause it to foul up. Maybe Windows updated, maybe a background service that wasn't running before is running now, maybe something subtle changed in your registry or your display settings or any of a thousand different things. The bottom line is that something changed between when it was working and now.
The error message seems to indicate some sort of issue in your registry. That is a tricky area to mess around in. Have you installed ANYTHING on your computer between when it was working and now? Added any browser extensions? Installed any codec packs? Downloaded any apps? Updated any software?
By the way, it's not very expensive to bump up to a 64-bit version of your OS if you did want to use a modern version of After Effects. I mean, if you want to continue working with After Effects, it would be a lot easier to use an older OS or a newer AE than to keep trying to kludge it like we are.

Multiple re-installs, after multiple system crashes

I'm getting really good at installing Leopard on this machine, but I'm not enjoying it so much anymore.
I installed Leopard clean a few days after it released, and used it for a few weeks with no trouble. After a while, an app would crash, then the system would crash. After a re-start or 2, the OS got hosed, and I had to re-install Leopard, and recover with TM.
I'd been having similar issues in Tiger, so I didn't think much of it. A few days after the first crash, it failed again, so I replaced the hard drive, and recovered with TM.
Since the new drive a week or so ago, I've re-installed Leopard at least 3 times, and recovered each time with TM. Each time an app crashes, the systems locks up and won't start back up again. Sometimes I can see the drive through another machine, other times not.
Before I replaced the drive, I put Leopard on my 15" Titanium PowerBook and migrated everything with TM, and it's still going fine.
Does Time Machine have something on it that keeps me stuck in this cycle? Did I install a bunk drive? Is there some other hardware on this machine that's killing Leopard?
I'm working on the the problem machine now using a clean install, but I haven't brought anything in from TM yet. I guess I'll just keep working with it to see if it happens again. Verify Disk says everything is ok, Permissions shows a bunch of "Waring: SUID file... will not be repaired" stuff- nothing else.

Thanks for your input. Here's an update.
I ran the machine using only Mail and Safari, and didn't bring in any files from TM from Friday to Monday and didn't have any issues. (I zapped the PRAM during this period.)
Monday morning, I got greedy and pulled in my entire user folder from TM- I didn't migrate from TM, I just brought in the user folder. Within a few hours, spotlight crashed, then the OS crashed.
On Tuesday, after writing zeros to the drive, I re-re-installed Leopard, and again, ran Mail and Safari without trouble. Wednesday night I copied folders for Mail, and Address Book (and nothing else) from TM. Then this morning, Safari crashed, then the OS crashed.
I can't imagine TM backups of Mail and/or AB could kill my OS- but maybe so. TimeMachine has my only backup of my data, so I seem to be stuck with it if for now.
I have a little G-Tech drive with Tiger that works fine on this 17", so I picked up a FireLite drive this morning, and have it running Leopard now. I'm not sure where to go from here...

I just had my FireFox updated after a major crash with at least over 80 tabs in 2 windows total, which it worked fine before crashing, but now my bowser crashes at random clicks on avrious websites & small group reloads. What is wrong and can it be fix?

The tabs I had were at YouTube, DeviantART, and other websites that are picture sites, or just image heavy. I usually leave my browser open while my laptop is in hibernation mode, as to try to avoid closing them as I tend to build up tabs and it would be a pain to wait and load everything. This has cause some crashes in the past, but those were less frequent than what I am experiencing now after the latest update. My browser seems to act more frail after that big crash I had. I did tried to reload my windows in tab, while cutting off the wireless so it wouldn't be too big of rush of loadtime, but it still crashed and does it constantly now. I can barely watch a 10-minute video or any multi task without the browser just crashing at random loads or clicks. Also, I notice whenever I write comments on Youtube, the browser lags and sometimes freezes.
It works better after I restart my computer, but that' s only a temporary fix.
