Need a simple solution for snowflake

Hello Experts,
I have requirement where join between fact and dimension in physical layer is like below.
Fact(F) >---- Dimension(1) >--- Dimension(2) >--- Dimension(3)
How should we solve it in dimension, what will be LTS, and content of LTS.
Please give your inputs. I have gone through some blogs but still looking for some advice.
Thanks

2 Options:
When data is duplicated in all dims then use LTS ie if you expand source folder in BMM you should see all 3 tables as source
If not duplicated then just add other 2 dims to Dimension(1) ie. Dimension(1) properties you should Map/add them
If helps mark
Thanks

  • I need a simple Converter for a selectBooleanCheckbox.

    Hi,
    Can someone tell me how to build a simple converter to go from a selectBooleanCheckbox value to a String and back.
    I save a String ("Y" or "N") in my table but the checkbox returns a boolean. I need a Converter to do the conversion from TRUE to "Y" and FALSE to "N". Should be easy to do but as of now, mine won't even execute properly.
    I get a
    javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: Can't instantiate class: 'ca.sshrc.web.common.converters.BooleanConverterYn'.
    I don't understand how getAsObject and getAsString work I guess.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Has anyone been able to make the converter for "<h:selectBooleanCheckBox>" work??
    seems like the converter method itself is not getting invoked.
    this is what i am trying to do..
    Code in jsp is
    <h:selectBooleanCheckbox id="testCheckBox" value="#{myBean.testCheckBox}" >
         <f:converter converterId="booleanConverter" />
    </h:selectBooleanCheckbox>entry in faces-config is
    <converter>
           <converter-id>booleanConverter</converter-id>                  <converter-class>package.MyBooleanConverter</converter-class>
      </converter>class MyBooleanConverter looks like this at the moment
    public class MyBooleanConverter implements Converter {
         public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) {
              myBooleanClass myBoolean = new myBooleanClass(value);
              return myBoolean;
         public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) {
              return value.toString();
    }     Have kept myBooleanClass as a simple wrapper for the Boolean class.
    Same is working for string and integer but not in this case..

  • Simple solution for Apple re: the ipod hearing damage issue;-)

    All those stories on pods damaging hearing

    First you have to be an idiot to turn it way way up; but the simple solution Apple can easily do is to make the volume control level bar turn red when it gets to a possibly damaging level for those folks who can't figure it out themselves...;-) That could be a simple update to add some color.....
    [Apple can send me adequate compensation for my brilliant suggestion, I'd suggest a 40gig ipod;-)]

  • Simple solutions for cinematic look with 60i video?

    I'm sure this questions pops up over and over but I'm getting a huge headache trying to sort everything out through my searches, especially as a beginner to the film making world.  I'll get right to my questions, but first here is the equipment I am working with:
    Camcorder = Sony HDR-XR500, shooting in 1920 x 1080 60i AVCHD format
    Software = CS4 Creative Suite
    I recently threw together a 10 min movie of a trip I just arrived back from using Premiere Pro, and while it was a lot of fun putting together I really have no idea if I went about it the right way.  I want to practice taking a clip of mine and converting it to that cinematic look, and hope someone can help guide me through some steps.
    Here is what I want to achieve:
    - 2.35:1 pixel ratio
    - 24p or similar effect (trying to figure this out makes my head spin)
    I know color correction has a lot to do with the cinematic look, but I realize there are many ways of going about this so I'll refrain from asking any questions in regards to this for now.  (I did find using the Fast Color Corrector and setting Saturation to 75%, and Input levels to 20, 1, 220 gave a nice film look)
    Step 1: What settings should I use to create my new project?
    Capture Format = HDV?
    For the sequence presets should I use AVCHD 1080i30 (60i) non-anamorophic?
    Step 2: If I want to create a 2.35:1 aspect ratio, should I simply crop my clip?  I think I read somewhere for 1920 x 1080 video, crop 14% from top and bottom?  Or should I crop when I export out the movie?
    Step 3: What would be the simplest/quickest way of getting that 24fps look using Premiere Pro or After Effects?  I know shooting in 24p is obviously the easiest way, but should I simply deinterlace my 60i video by right clicking clip>Field Options> Always deinterlace to achieve similar effect?
    Step 4: Exporting video....again so many options I'm not sure what to do here.  Basically, could someone provide me with the best exporting options for the format I'm trying to achieve for:
    - Posting on Internet
    - Viewing on computer
    - And viewing on blu-ray
    I really appreciate any help to the above questions.  Big thanks!

    Step 1: Capture settings are irrelevant for AVCHD on that camera.  Just copy the entire folder structure intact to your hard drive.  Pr will find the copied footage through the Media Browser panel.  You may even be able to edit directly from the camera's HDD.  You should try it and see.
    Step 2: 1920x816 produces a 2.35:1 aspect ratio.  Assuming all of your action occurs in the exact vertical center of the shot, then you should crop 132 pixels from top and bottom.  Placing your 1080 footage into a custom progressive sequence of those dimensions should get you what you want, as long as you don't have Default scale to frame size selected in Preferences.
    Step 3: This is the tough one.  To get 24 fps out of 30 fps, one frame out of every 5 needs to be dropped.  This will produce perceptually jerky playback, especially if any motion at all is present.  So the remaining frames must be blended together in some way to smooth out the bump where the missing frame is.  Using AE to accomplish this is, IMHO, the best solution for an all-CS4 workflow.  In AE, you have 2 choices: Frame Mix and Pixel Motion.  PM produces better results, but FM renders faster.  If you haven't done any editing of the clips in Pr yet, then the best idea would be to convert all of the footage in AE before importing it into Pr.  If you've already got edits in place in Pr, then you can select all of the clips in the sequence and choose File | Adobe Dynamic Link | Replace with After Effects Composition.  Either way, each clip in AE must be individually interpreted to Separate Fields/Preserve Edges.  The comp settings must be set to 24p.  Then Frame Blending must be enabled for the comp, and finally, each Frame Blending Layer Switch must be set to either Frame Mix or Pixel Motion.  If you do use Dynamic Link, be sure to turn *off* Frame Blending in Pr, because AE has already taken care of that.
    Step 4: Because rendering will be so intensive and take so long, I recommend exporting an intermediate file from Pr, then re-importing that file to be used as the source for the various export formats.  Otherwise, you'll have to render all over again for each individual export format.  For web, I recommend Flash.  For computer viewing, it depends on your delivery method (CD, DVD, Download, External Hard Drive, Flash Drive, etc.).  For Blu-ray, either H.264 Blu-ray or MPEG2 Blu-ray.

  • Need new backup solution for vMware vm's

    Anthony,
    There are a number of products out there that will meet your requirements. For example, depending on your VMware license you could use VDP. There are other vendors who leverage the VMware host API to get VM snapshots. StorageCraft offers a software solution that will back up your VMs and store them in your data center or on portable media. We create byte/sector level images of your systems that you can quickly restore to the same or to a new environment (like moving from Hyper-V to VMware) or mount as a shareable volume for easy file/folder recovery.
    Whichever solution you choose, be sure to test it in your environment so you know it will meet your specific needs and budget. Let me know if you have any questions about StorageCraft products and applicable discounts.
    Cheers!

  • Need a simple answer for simple question???

    simple question... what is the best way to export my fce movie and burn it on idvd for the best quality for genaral use ... sd..4x3 ratio tv.. lots of ken burn effects on photos... lots of sd video... ???
    not so simple answer... i have read manuals.. apple discussions.. etc etc my eyes are blurry.. i have been exporting out of fce to qk time movie, then import to idvd and burn..
    i get lots of wavy or jitter when doing kens burn effects on photos.. i have been told that 1 field must be missing.. and its better to take the qk time movie convert it again making sure hi quality is checked(movie properties 720 x 480) and self contained movie, then import to imovie ver 5.02 which has better codecs then to idvd ... an apple store tech said..
    then another apple store tech said...dv pro or dv stream or interlaced or on and on and on
    its not 16x9, or for the web or anything but simply burn it and give it to my grandma to play in a standard dvd player.. best quality.. period.. i know it won't any better than my source video but the wavy photos bother me..
    help

    The Apple store tech told you garbage. The quality will be the same. It's using the same QuickTime engine. There may be a difference because going through iMovie will go through a file conversion and the picture might be softened a little, which will mitigated this flicker you see.
    The wavy photos can be a lot of things, most likely due to the nature of the images themselves and the movements you've done on them. What often works on still images is to apply a one pixel vertical motion blur in an application like Photoshop or Elements. This helps to reduce interlace flicker on motion when the material is brought into a video editing application.

  • Need BOM related solution for Textile Industry (Weaving proces)

    HIi,
    Made to Order Strategy:
    Every times customer sends the specification of product. Specification format as given below:
    Ex. 80x100/154x80*3-118u201D 4/1 Twill
    Details of specifications:
         80: Count of EPI (Ends Per Inch)
         100: Count of PPI (Picks Per Inch)
         154: EPI
         80: PPI
         3: Insertation
         118u201D u2013 Width in Inch
         4/1 Twill : Design of Fabric
    Operations Details:
    1 Warping
    2. Sizing
    3. Weaving
    4. Quality Inspection
    5. Packing
    As Is Business Process:
    There are mainly four production lines viz. Warping, Sizing, Weaving and Quality Inspection. For all the production lines the individual machine work centers will be as listed below with brief description:
    1.     Sectional Warping:
    A kind of Warping specially used to prepare fabrics for shirting. In sectional warping dyed yarns are used to prepare warping beam. The end constraint of sectional warping is 720 ends at a time. The actual capacity of Sectional warping is 800 MTR/min.  This activity is job work for DEESAN group.
    2.     Direct warping:
    Direct warping process is used to prepare warping beam. The end constraint of warping is 1088 ends per beam. Machine width of the beam in 2200 mm, speed of warping varying from 300 MTR to 1200 MTR per minute depending upon the construction required. It has backup procedure for next round. Uploading speed   for single yarn is 8 yarn / min / person.
    3.      Sizing:
    Sizing process is used to prepare specific number of EPI/ beam as per the requirement of construction. A calculated no of warp beam used to prepare a single sizing beam. Speed of sizing 45 to 55 MTR / minute depending on the requirement of fabric.
    4.     Preparation of Drawing:
    This process is used to preparation of new drawing for the loom machine. Drawing includes frame & reed. It will take 12 hr for 2 persons to prepare a single drawing i.e. 8000 ends per shift. This activity given as job work to some group of people.
    5.     Weaving:
    Two types of weaving machines used are CAM and DOBBY. Fabric to fabric PPI is varying, the capacity of loom machine depends upon the PPI so the capacity of loom machines varying with the type of fabric. CAM is used specially for plain fabrics.
    6.     Quality Inspection:
    The beams of fabrics coming from looming machine are inspected on Inspection machine. 100% fabrics are inspected on QA machine for further grading, which is then bifurcated in Export, Local and chindi type.
    7.     Rolling:
    Rolling machine is used for rolling of inspected fabric on card board rolls according to the quality of fabric. A roll contain of maximum 350 MTR of fabric. Which are then packed with LDPE followed by HDPE with appropriate coding on rolls.
    Material Requirement:
    For ex. 80x100/154x90*3-118u201D 4/1 Twill
    Order Qty.: 20000 M
    Currently they are using single level BOM.
    Formulas for calculate raw material requirements as given below:
    Warp wt / mtr = (EPIWidthCrimp) /(1693*Count of EPI)
              = (154 * 118 * 1.025)/(1693 * 80)
              = 0.137524
              = 0.138 Kg/Mtr
    Weft wt / mtr  = (PPIInsertationWidth * Crimp) /(1693*Count of PPI)
              = (9031181.025)/(1693100)
              = 0.192891
              = 0.193 Kg/Mtr
    Total Qty req:
    Warp = 0.138 * 20000 + add 5% loss
         = 2898 KG
    Weft = 0.193 * 20000 + add 4% loss
         = 4014 KG
    Packaging material requirement :
    1. Paper tube = Total order qty / approximately for 300 m 1 paper tube required + 5% loss
              = 20000 / 300 *1.05
              = 70
    2. HDPE sheet = No. of paper tube * 0.4 KG
          = 70 * 0.4
         = 28 KG
    3. LDPE sheet = No. of paper tubes * 0.15 KG
              = 70 * 0.15
              = 10.5 KG
    Chemical consumption in terms of yarn on KG basis. Its combination of 4-6 chemicals depends on construction to construction also material availability.
    Note: We will consume chemicals against cost center.
    Production planning at execution time:
    Sizing and warping calculation:
    1.     Sizing :
    EPI per inch = 154
    On loom will be = 154 * 1.025
               = 157.85
    Total no of ends for 118u201D width = 157.85 * 118
                        = 18626
    Add one more ends per 1000 ends = 18626 / 1000
                        = 19 ends
    Total no of ends  = 18626 + 19
              = 18645 for  sizing
    Warping :
    Warping m/c capacity of output is 1088 Ends per set/beam.
    Speed of machine 300-1200 MPM.
    So for sizing we need 18645 ends. Now we want to calculate no warp set required for sizing & no. of ends per warp set.
    Ends required per set = 18645 / 18 = 1036
         i.e. 18 * 1036 = 1 Sizing set
    We need total yarn on KG basis
    Issue related to BOM:
    1.     How We can feet below 2 issues in BOM
    a.     we want to calculate RM(Yarn) material requirement in Unit of  u201CENDu201D
    NOTE: Procurement of Raw material Unit- KG as well as it depends no. of ends required for warp set / beam. i.e. its multiple of yarn cone required for 1 warp set.
    As per Bom of Raw Martial Unit- Ends (EA)
    b.     Also we want to calculate no of warp set required for sizing and no of ends required for warping process.

    this is the avi fix from Casio for the EX-S600. Load this on your computer and it should self load where it needs it. If not drag it to the QT folder in iPhoto and this solved my problem with the EX-S500 after I removed all of the other lines of text in the folder. So in non tech speak list the folders contents in other than icon view and drag it all out except for the latest download from Casio. I had downloaded flip4mac before and also the lemonkid codec listed in the Casio support info under cameras, yet when the latest QT 7 loaded it shut all the avi's from casio out. Not anymore!... till?

    If you're mixing in Logic, buy a FireWire audio interface. So many people make them, that it isn't funny. Personally, I'm a fan of M-Audio interfaces for a cheap, high quality device.

  • Need a cloud solution for multiple party access at my church

    I am trying to find a way to have the following at my church:
    We have 5 people with iPhones, iPads and macs. I want to be able for each person when they create content, pics, videos, etc. to have a central repository they can upload this media to. That way, for future events, anyone with access can access the content to create presentations, movies, slides how's or just show pics.
    In addition, when we have ministry teams go on missions, they take pics and videos. When they return, we want them to easily be able to upload these items to somewhere, preferably a public share folder. Then, our administrator could access this folder, review the content, decide what is good and pull it into this shared cloud area.
    How can this work? I tried the transporter.....that requires everyone that uses it to have an account.
    Let me know your ideas! Thank you!
    Randy

    Try Dropbox. That will do everything you want.
    Obviously everyone who needs access will either need their own account and use a shared folder, or login to a master account. There's no way of avoiding having an account otherwise if it was wide open for access to anyone without an account it would be open to abuse. Anything public is likely to get filled with junk.

  • Simple Solution for authentication with WD and R/3 Backend

    Hi,
    we are developing a Web-Dynpro based Application running
    on a J2EE/ABAP Stack machine. Our backend is a 4.6C SAP System, we are using adaptive RFCs to get/put data there.
    The user of the WD App should authenticate against the
    J2EE/ABAP engine, and the resulting RFC Calls should be processed with the current ID/PWD(to track the updates).
    The SSO aspect we can maybe solve with Logon Tickets, but this requests SU01 Users on both systems. This aspect
    we can solve with UME (or Central User Admin) to minimize the effort.
    Are there any ideas to solve this with less effort, the
    goal is to track the chaning User in the material-master or other R/3 transactions. For a customer new to the web world, there are many things to learn (for some of them
    interesting, for some of them too expensive -) )
    Regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
    I'd think your summary is quite complete. There is currently no option, than to do a named access to the backend, if you want to have the user listed in the change records and auditing events.
    For the user synchronizaiton, you could also use the LDAP connector, which would especially be helpful if you intend to have more users in the portal than in the ABAP system.

  • Please help! I need the fastest solution for redoing my library!

    I have had my computer restored a few times and I am tired of always having to redo my library (playlists and selecting songs to be transferred). This time, they did not back up my music so I have to start from scratch with the exception of a few songs. How do I identify which songs can't be found without clicking on each one? Or how can I delete all of the unfound files quickly without also clicking each one? Another question, is there a way to keep the settings of my itunes library if I restore or switch computers again with a proper backup? If I can't find an easier way to do this I am going to have to stop using itunes as this is infuriating. I hope you can understand what I am asking.
    Thanks in advance for all your help!

    I knew someone was going to ask me why I still have Vista!   My computer works great with no problems!   I have had this HP Mini for over four years and not one problem!

    Select video and move it up onto color matte.
    Let go
    Pick it up again and move it to track 3
    Dont let go, hold shift and move audio to track 2
    Deselect
    Select color matte and left over audio: ripple delete.
