Need A Smart Person To Help Me!!
So I want to setup a raid 0 with my computer setup but have some questions.
I have 3 external drives, 500GB, 2TB, and 1TB.
Can I partition the 2TB and 1TB and use the 500GB partition I make on each drive for the raid, so all 3 are 500GB?
Can I also partiton my 1TB internal hard drive in half and use the new partition in the Raid?
Am I going about the best way to set this up or will this not even work in the first place?

It doesnt mention if you can use a partitioned drive and also says nothing about using your internal drive with the externals.
I cant seem to find out if you can do this anywhere

If you want to talk to someone in person/by phone rather than posting your problem here (or continuing with troubleshooting if the problem is the one you mention in your other thread where someone is attempting to help you) , you can also make an appointment at the Genius Bar if you have an Apple Store near you, or call Apple tech support (though if you're past the free 90-day phone support window and don't have AppleCare for the iPod, the call may not be free).

I have gone through all of the above support articles after receiving the following message "Unable to connect

I reset, I checked the proxy (no), I checked the firewall (enabled for FF), I uninstalled/reinstalled, I have run malware check (negative). I am at my wit's end because I NEED FF for work applications that will not come through IE due to corporate policy. I need serious help or I am screwed.
FF was working perfectly until a week ago. Now it starts up on the FF home page but goes no further, even in SAFE mode. What gives?
I uninstalled Chrome, even.hello, normally such issues are caused by a firewall/security software which doesn't recognize & therefore blocks new firefox versions. please try to remove all program rules for firefox in your firewall and let it detect the program again: [[Fix problems connecting to websites after updating Firefox]]

That's totally up to you. If you have the need to restrict the web sites that can be visited, then a product such as Trend may be worth the cost. If you are only worried about malware from your own surfing, then I consider the price for Trend excessive and unnecessary. The freeware ClamXav and a bit of common sense - about what you download and from where, not falling for scams and fakes that ask you to provide personal information, and in keeping your operating system up to date - should be sufficient.

Hp dv5-1002nr notebook hdd smart monitoring issues HELP!!!
Hello. Im working on a HP DV5-1002NR notebook and Im getting a "hard drive is at risk of imminent failure...." message at boot. It gives error 0301.
I have done the full hd test and results are normal. I have also taken the hard drive out and installed it in my computer and done disk checking via 3 other reliable softwares. I have also run SPINRITE on this drive with FULL scan (8hrs) and all have come back with ZERO problems.
The laptop functions fine, and has full performance. I have reinstalled vista via the recovery partiton on the drive and still get this error. Short of completely formatting the hard drive, what else can I do to stop SMART MONITORING from reporting errors.
I am 101% sure the hard drive is not at fault.
The bios has no disablement for SMART.
Please help!

Thanks for that clarification. So, now it appears that the ultimate purpose of a Smart Mailbox is to point to all emails that meet the criteria in a single place, so if they are spread among several mailboxes, you will be able to see them all together. Here is an article from Apple that describes it:
A Smart Mailbox displays in one location messages that are stored in other mailboxes, so you don’t have to move messages between mailboxes. The messages displayed by a Smart Mailbox are based on criteria you define, and are automatically updated to include new messages that match your criteria. For example, you might create a Smart Mailbox that displays all messages found in all mailboxes from a specific sender.
If you change a message in a Smart Mailbox, such as marking the message as read or unread, or moving or deleting the message, the change is reflected in the mailbox where the message is actually stored.
So, adam, I would think that, if you had mail going to a lot of different places, and wanted to be able to see a particular set of those in a single place, you would use a smart mailbox. Maybe use the rules to direct your mail to different places to start with, but a smart mailbox to bring a set of common ones all together into a single smart mailbox?
Maybe you have Rules move your Amazon mail to an Amazon folder and your Apple mail to an Apple folder, but then you have a Smart Mailbox that contains any mail that has the word "Receipt" in the Subject line?
Just a thought....

How come I can't put music on my ipod? I already have a fair amount of music on my ipod but I have enough space for more. I am using a new computer with itunes and it is telling me if I wasnt to put the new music on my ipd i need to erase my ipod HELP!
Because you can only synce with one iTunes library and you are switching libries by using the new computer. To nake this yyour syncing computer:
- Move all the media(apps, music, synced video and photos etc) to the new computer.
- Connect the iPofd yo the computer and bake a backup fo the iPod by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the backup that iTunes makes doe not include media.

I just bought a new iPhone and accidentally backed it up with my old iPhone backup, I do not want this. I lost everything on my new phone and I need it back. PLEASE HELP! This includes pictures and texts, etc.
So just to be clear, when you say "just bought" how long ago was that? Is it on this new iPhone that you had pictures, texts, etc that you want? Were you backing up to iCloud or onto iTunes?
This may not help for everything but if you go to iCloud.com and log in, are you able to find your pictures there?

How does JVM set file.encoding system property?
The system property file.encoding is changed mysteriously, and we don't have a command line -D option. How does JRockit JVM get the default value for system properties such as file.encoding? I am running Jrockit 1.4.2_12. Thanks.
