I am an Pl Sql Developer.
But i was given a role to configure the new database. What r the steps to be followed?

Customer Receivables Aging Report
Field
Description/Activity
Currency - Click This graphic is explained in the accompanying text and choose the currency in which you want to display the report results.
The available options include:
●     Local currency
●     System currency
●     Business partner currency
●     Any additional currencies defined in SAP Business One
Aging Date - Displays the aging date entered in the selection criteria window.
Age By - Choose whether you calculate the age of the receivable according to the due date, posting date, or document date of the document/journal entry.
Customer Code - Displays the code of the customer.
Click This graphic is explained in the accompanying text to open the corresponding Business Partner Master Data.
Customer Name - Displays the name of the customer.
Total - Displays the total amount of open receivables.
Figures in brackets mean that you have already received payments from a customer that exceed the amount of the receivables for the period.
Future Remit. - Displays all open receivables owed by the customer according to the date selected in the Age By field for which the date specified in the Aging Date field has not yet been reached.
Example:
The customer has an open A/R Invoice for USD100, due on May 1st.
Due Date is selected in the Age By field.
The Aging Date is April 28th.
Since the invoice is due after the aging date, the invoice amount is displayed in the Future Remit column..
Letter - Indicates whether a dunning letter was created.
This column is displayed only when generating the report by Sales Documents and by Due Date
Time Intervals - These four columns are constructed according to the specifications you made in the Interval field in the selection criteria window.
SAP Business One displays the relevant open receivables in four columns for the time interval. The amount of future remit is first subtracted from the total sum of receivables.
·         Days u2013 Each column represents the number of days entered in the selection criteria window starting from the aging date and backwards. The fourth column includes open receivables for the days prior to the first three columns.
·         Months u2013 Each column represents one month starting from the aging date month and backwards. The last column includes open receivables for months prior to the first three months.
·         Periods u2013 Each column represents one period (as defined in Administration ® System Initialization ® Posting Periods tab) starting from the aging date period and backwards. The last column includes open receivables for periods prior to the first three periods.
If the number of periods in your company is less than the 4, the non-relevant columns will be titled as Not Valid.
Doubtful Debt - Displays the doubtful debt amount if exists.
Top Total Row - The top total row displays the sum of amounts listed in one column.
Bottom Total Row - The bottom total row displays the percentage of open receivables for each time interval.

Need help connecting to a database with an applet

I am making a Java game that runs in an applet and needs to connect to a Java DB database. I created the database and table in NetBeans and now I have no idea how to connect this applet to the database. I tried using a DataSource and an InitialContext and I got a NoInitialContextException. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Already made the InitialContext. This is the code I used in the applet:

Basically a deployable proxy must be used on server side and Standalone on client side. The deployable proxy can configured to different clients on some ways.

Newbie needs help! Cannot open database home page...

I know this sort of question has been posted before but either it never got resolved or the thread seems to just die...
I have just installed 10gXE and have tried to open the 'homepage' but all I get is 'page not available' errors in either IE Firefox or Opera. I have turned off the windows Firewall to see if that had anything to do with it but it made no difference.

Need help with creation of Payment Cycles

We need you to determine a way to sum up the Measure "Prod Matl - Std" into Payment Cycles of the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th of each month. Company only pays suppliers on the Payment Cycles indicated above.
General Rules:
     Days:          Paid on:          Example:
     1 - 5          Day 5          2008-08-01 through 2008-08-05 are all paid on 2008-08-05
     6 - 10          Day 10          2008-08-06 through 2008-08-10 are all paid on 2008-08-10
     11 - 15          Day 15          and so on…
     16 - 20          Day 20          and so on…
     21 - 25          Day 25          and so on…
     26 - 30          Day 30          and so on…
Exceptions to Rules:
               Paid on Day:          Example:
1.)     31st of any month          Day 5 of the following month          2008-08-31 is paid on 2008-09-05
2.)     Since the month of February only has 28 or 29 days, payment for the 26th-28th of Feb will occur on Feb 28th. If it is a leap year and February has 29 days, then the payment for the 26th-29th will occur on Feb 29th.

Please feel free to add new measures, UDAs and any formulas necessary to accomplish the objective.

The best advice I can give is to mock it up on a spreadsheet as follows:
Columns: Time periods, highlight all periods (columns) that are payment cycle end dates.
Rows: Item 1 = Amount Due, Item 2 = Amount Paid, Item 3 = Due This Cycle
Now, all you need is to take each column and on the highlighted columns and put a formula into the Item 3 line that takes the sum of amounts paid and subtracts it from the sum of amounts due. These can run from the beginning or just back to the previous highlighted column.
Once you have it mocked up, the formulas can be converted and members added to support it. You'll also need to get the people that make the payments to book the items, etc..., but that might already be part of the bigger picture.
You will need to fine tune the results for roll-ups. You can either use time balance last members or create a member to store the current due/current paid elements as a running total. These are all style points though -- the bottom line is that if you can't model the process in excel or code it in essbase, you need to bring a good consulting organization in. It wouldn't take long for them to help, and I can recommend a couple in particular, but without knowing a lot more about your outline and constraints it would be very difficult to point to any one direction with certainty.

Use the DB Links and try to use the "MERGE" that is better.
you can clone it right, almost you are getting the same data from A to B and then you are going to Update is I am correct. Does the "B" consist the data, If yes then you can't clone on exiting DB, As i said above go for DB links and write custom scripts as per your requirement.

here i have one more idea:
if you only want a dump for the Structure, use the "CONTENT=METADATA_ONLY" in expdp.
In this case, you will not have data, but only the Datastructures (Users, tablespaces, tables etc.)
You can control, what is transferred by doing an impdp with the parameter "SQLFILE=filename.sql".
In this file you will find all statements; p.ex "create user User5 identified by values '44U7369872587307';"
after Importing this (without sqlfile=) in your new instance, you can later import from a full dump only the needed schemata
# impdp ... .... SCHEMAS=HR,U555 ..... TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION=REPLACE
To import tehe schemata online in your new instance, you need a databaselink p.ex OLD_DB (user system).
in impdp you can use the parameter NETWORK_LINK=OLD_DB instead of DUMPFILE=

Need Help with my frist database

I am developing a Java application locally with a very simple database.
Where do I begin when I want to make a database? I know SQL but never done a connection to database.
I can do my tables with a database tool program (does Sun have such a program for design of database?)
When I am trying different database tools, they want me to connect to the db-server? What does it mean? How do I choose a db-server (this is not a web application).

Need Help with IMG+PHP Database+Selective Display

The problem is really a lot simpler than I made it sounds to
be, though I fear the answer might be vice versa.
I need to have pictures appear when they exist. That's all.
Here is where I am at:
I have created a php database for a news announcement page.
In that database, I have a column named "img" whose default value
is "null"
Whenever I actually have a picture corrosponding to a
particular news, the "img" column will change to the file name of
that image, which I will then extract.
So basically... if news A, img = null... no picture. news B
img = b... then yes picture. very simple concept for database.
Here's what I can't do.
When I read the database from DW, how can I make it so that
when it reads a "null" it won't insert a picture and vice versa? I
figure it definitely has to do with the "if" statement (duh...)
I know how to make text do that effect...

echo("i have data");

but how do i do it with an image? I tried putting the image
tag to replace the entire "echo" line, but that's apparently not
how you do it. I tried putting it inside "echo", but that doesn't
seem to be it either.
also, as a premise, all pictures are associated with only 1
particular news.
which i wrote something similar to this:
<img src="<?php echo $row_data['img']; ?>.jpg"
width="200" height="200" />
Um, basically... I need THAT to fit into the IF statement. So

Let's break that down into the following:
echo '<img src="' ;
echo $row_data['img'] ;
echo '.jpg" width="200" height="200" />' ;
When you string multiple echoes together use a comma between
them,. so now
we have:
echo '<img src="',$row_data['img'],'.jpg" width="200"
height="200" />';
(You may also use a period, but my understanding is the
period is less
efficient.)
I only have single quotes in my PHP statements. The double
quotes you see
are part of what will be the rendered HTML.
You may generally use the single quote or double quote
interchangeably with
few exceptions such as having double quotes as part of the
text or vice
versa among others. You can probably escape the characters
too, but lets
keep this simple for now.
If I misspoke I am sure Micha will be sure to correct me.
IMO The best thing to do is learn by trial and error, and
your best resource

Need help on Physical standby database

Currently our physical standby database is running in manual mode and logs are applied by me manually delay of 2 days.
And also when I add a data file in the primary database ,I've to manually add the file again on the standby .
This process is becoming too laborious, now I want to automate this process,
Now my question is
For automating this process ,do I need to bounce the database ?
I want to have 2 days gap for archive log apply process? How should I do that.
And what all parameters I need to change.
Please advice....

Need help with data from databases

Hi,
I need to search several columns in a table, for ex. the Id column and the Headline column. Of cource the id must be connected to the right headline when I want to do something to the data.
Now I get a Resultset and I have tried out different ways to get the data out from the Resultset but the result doesn't seems to be right. Can anyone help me, please.

You can iterate on your ResultSet if it contains several
rows.
Let's imagine you have defined a class Element containing
the values you want to use.
List l = new ArrayList();
