Need help...retrieving text from html

i have successfully convert my text into html... however, i have problem restoring the html back to text...
below is my html:

this is the method i used to restore the text:

the problem is, when i restore the text, i can only get the text,its bold,underline and italic... my font and font size are unable to be restored...
for example, based on the html i provided above, it should come up with "HELLO WORLD", bold, underline and italic with the font size 72... but when i restored, my font size and font are not as it is stated in the html... why is this so????

Need help sending variables from HTML to SWF...

I have a header with tab buttons--- When you are on a certain
page the coorisponding tab is a different color(as a locator).
Right now I have like, 7 or 8 different headers that are the
same thing minus the colored tab of the current page.
Is there a way to code the flash so that I only need one
header, but still keep the off-colored buttons when on the
coorisponding page?
Apparently, from what I have gathered I need to Send a
variable to the SWF from the embedding HTML using FlashVars or
SWFObjects' 'addVariable' method etc so the SWF knows which
tab/color to use.
But, I have no ideal where to start...uugggggg.
Any Suggestions????

the easiest way to pass vars to the flash is by appending
them to the url of the flash:
e.g your swiff is called "mymovie.swf" and you want a
parameter "color" to be available on the _root level of your movie,
so all you have to do is embed the flash with the following url
into your html page:
"mymovie.swf?color=black"
now back in flash you can get the value of "color" like this:
in _root timeline:
color
in any other timeline:
_root.color
the value will be filled once the movie is called from within
the HTML as explained above

I just recently had my ipod (30gb video) replaced because it was damaged. The new ipod that i got was obviously updated to the newest version, now i cannot put the itunes music library that i have from work on my new ipod. I am so frustrated! i have about 200 songs on my computer at work that it won't allow to be loaded on to my ipod. The computer that I used to reload my library is my home computer, what can I do?

You don't state what the actual issue is. Just saying " i cannot put the itunes music library that i have from work on my new ipod" hardly tells us anything. It's a little like saying "my car won't go, what's wrong with it?"
You should be able to use your iPod with more than one computer.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just cancelling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I need help, retrieving a combo boxes actual value, not the export value.
I have a combo box with multiple options to select from.
each of those selections has a separate export value, which is in the form of a number, which I use to calculate dates in a separate field.
However, I have another field that i want to retrieve the, users selected value, which is text, from the combo box instead of the export value.
Is there an easy way to do this.
This is what I am currently using. But like I said the results are that I retrieve the export value and not the selected text value.

First get the currentValueIndices property of the combo box and use it with the getItemAt field method to return (what I call) the display value. Something like:

I have requirement, where I need to retrive font size and style of the copied text from html page. Here copied text I mean, the text we select and copy using either windows copy command or using Ctrl+C.

You can also try this, especially if you've got the Text Inspector and the Color Picker open already.
Select the text to be colored (note that if the text is already multiple different colors the swatch under Color & Alignment section of the Text Inspector still only shows one out of the several)
Find the color you want in the Color Picker
Click and drag from the Color Picker into the swatch under Color & Alignment in the Text Inspector
That will also change all the selected text to the chosen color.
Also, regarding web safe colors, that SHOULD come as a part of the Color Picker. With the Color Picker open, select the third icon at the top (If you mouse over it, it should indicate Color Palettes. Click the popup menu button and you should see Web Safe Colors as one of the choices. With this and the Text Inspector open, you can drag and drop your way to identical colors in no time!
That same drag and drop trick works for text on the slide as well. If you just created a bit of text and you want to apply a color, scroll until you find the color you want, then drag and drop over to the text (it will highlight in blue showing you what you're about to color).

Problem to extract text from HTML document

I have to extract some text from HTML file to my database. (about 1000 files)
The HTML files are get from ACM Digital Library. http://portal.acm.org/dl.cfm
The HTML page is about the information of a paper. I only want to get the text of "Title" "Abstract" "Classification" "Keywords"
The Problem is that I can't find any patten to parser the html files"

One approach is to download Htmlparser from sourceforge
http://htmlparser.sourceforge.net/ and write the rules to match title, abstract etc.
Another approach is to write your own parser that extract only title, abstract etc.
1. tokenize the html file. --> convert html into tokens (tag and value)
2. write a simple parser to extract certain information
find out about the pattern of text you want to extract. For instance "<class "abstract">.
then writing a rule for extracting abstract such as
if (tag is abstract ) then extract abstract text
apply the same concept for other tags
Attached is the sample parser that was used to extract title and abstract from acm html files. Please modify to include keyword and other fields.

Read Text from HTML-Pages and want to solve "ChangedCharSetException"

I have an app that connect via threads with pages and parse them an gives me only the Text-version of a HTML-page. Works fine, but if it found a page, where the text is within images, than the whole app stopps and gave me the message:

Use the anti-virus program to reverse everything it quarantined and in future ensure the anti-virus program settings let you check and decide what items to quarantine and what to ignore. Letting an anti-virus program quarantine things automatically is a recipe for disaster.
You could also check if you have a System Restore point from before the anti-virus run.

I need help removing UAC from itunes so it will not allow me to open itunes. Everything I have read from other comments that you shouldn't turn off your user account control. I just to be able to open itunes. Can anyone help me with this problem?? Greg, ogrady612@yahoo,com

I had this problem too but you do not need UAC to be turned on.
Click on start and search for 'uac' in the search box at the bottom and click on 'Change User Account Control Settings' when it comes up. Move the slider to the bottom when the window appears and save the changes and your done!
It's worked for me and my uac has been off for months without causing me any problems!

Need help coping project from one computer to another.

I need help coping project from one computer to another. I loaded all video on computer 1, copied events and project folder to computer 2. I was told I only needed to copy the project folder back to computer 1 since the events folder is already there. I copied project folder back to computer 1 but the files wont open. I dont have computer 2 available.

No that's not the way to do it - iMovie gets confused and in some cases the problems might be un-repairable.
You've got several problems
• iMovie'08 - CAN NOT MOVE PROJCTS - You NEED iMovie'09 or iMovie'11 - I see no other working solution
• Never MOVE or alter any folder named
iMovie Projects - or -
iMovie Events
on DeskTop/Finder - This might be very harmful
• Moving (Projects) and Events - HAS TO be done within the iMovie Application.
You've got an Evets window and here You can view Your Events in two ways - Yearly - or - Yearly per Hard disk
Here You can move within this "window" to another location
• Projects - NO they do not contain Your full movie - only a document on howto use the material in Event folder
and there might be worse if You added Photos from iPhoto and Audio from iTunes/Garageband - then You have
to get this over to the second Mac too, to be able to continue editing.
So to move Your projects to another Mac You need
• iMovie'09 or 11
• an external hard disk -
MUST BE Mac OS Extended formatted - as UNIX/DOS/FAT32/Mac OS Exchange will not work for VIDEO
Should be a FireWire one - as UBS/UBS2 performs badly when used for video
• Then move/copy over within Project resp Events window in iMovie Application

Retrieve text from sprite at specific marker

Is there a way to retrieve text from a spriteMember at a
specific marker when you are not located at that marker?
I have an presentation that uses small graphics at the bottom
to jump to it's corresponding marker based on the markerList. I
would like to retrieve the text in sprite(6) from the corresponding
marker location and display it in a text sprite on the stage at the
current location. Without jumping to that location.
I'm trying to avoid making a list or naming the members with
the corresponding marker.

Short answer... no.
Can you get the text of the member?
If that won't work you can use the updateLock property of
score recording.
You can do something like this: set updateLock to true, go
the frame you
want, get the text of the member of the sprite, then return
to the frame you
were at and turn updateLock back to false.
on test
_movie.updateLock = true
go "spriteFrame"
put sprite(6).member.text
go "normalFrame:
_movie.updateLock = false
end
If you place that as a handler in a movie script, you can
enter test from
the message window and see what happens - you will see the
text of the
sprite displayed, but the play head won't move...

You can't. Restoring from a backup is all or none.
You can use a utility such as this one to extract the messages from the backup on your computer but you can't re-transfer the messages to the Messages app on your iPhone.
